Obama family talks campaign life

The Obama family spent The Fourth of July in Montana.

(CNN) - Whether or not their dad becomes the next president of the United States, the Obama kids are already winners - of a dog, that is.

In an interview with the entire Obama family to air later Tuesday, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, told Access Hollywood their famous mom and dad promised to buy a dog after the rigorous campaign season comes to an end.

"Win or lose, win or lose," the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee said.

In the interview, Malia also said she often gives her dad campaign tips on how to reach out to young people her age.

"You really don't shake kids’ hands that much, you shake adult hands," she said. “And I say you just wave and say hi, so I do that kind of stuff."

What's it like to have parents in the spotlight? Malia said now she reads about her mom in People Magazine.

"They always have those sections with you know, how much people's dresses cost, and so I saw that magazine, and I said, 'Oh mommy you're in this!' I've never seen mommy in that. Because I usually see people like Angelina Jolie –”

"You know, important people," mom Michelle quipped.

"Yes, real important people, no offense," Malia said.

What a lovely family. The children are as cute as they can be and, of course, well behaved as we all knew they would be. Can't wait to see them grow into beautiful and smart teenagers.

Typical White Person – Senator Obama is trying to give those who would not oridinarily be able to attend such a historic event the chance to be there. Don't let your dislike of Senator Obama turn you bitter.

ANYONE WONDER what those "freed american hostage-turned-instant-heroes" were up to down in colubian jungle?

    hmmm...

not that FARC is "proven" to be "terrorists" (hell, the former hostages saied so and they should know since they are witnesses, LOL),

we're all set to go bomb and kill the hell out of FARC "legally", right?

    good luck with that.

CNN – why aren't you covering the story of how Obama plans to fill the stadium???

If you make a donation of $5 or more between now and midnight on July 31st, you could be one of 10 supporters chosen to fly to Denver and spend two days and nights at the convention, meet Barack backstage, and watch his acceptance speech in person. Each of the 10 supporters who are selected will be able to bring one guest to join them.

This is absolutely disgusting…turning the process for electing the leader of the free world into a raffle…
    ------------------

Actually "Typical White Person", not only are YOU disgusting but also a little challenged in your deduction skills.

He is raising money for his campaign and also providing an opportunity for 10-20 of his supporters to witness history. They are paying for plane fare and hotel accomodations! I know I would love to go, but can not afford it right now. Winning this would be a wonderful opportunity for me.

Oh, you forgot to mention that attendance to this event at this 75,000 capacity stadium is completely free.

It's funny how Obama haters pick and choose parts of the story and never display the whole story.

Why are people so frigging tightly wound??

This is just a cute article about the Obama family which LOTS of people find interesting. Is this really so shockingly irrelevant that people have to complain about it?? I for one think it's really nice to see what kind of family Obama is raising. That speaks a great deal to who he and Michelle are.

Anyway, his girls are beautiful. He's a very lucky guy.

Senator, Please don't "buy" a dog. Your local animal shelter, and rescue leagues have abandoned dogs, who need homes.

Breeders will sell their thoroughbreds, probably, with no problem.

You can rescue a "condemned" dog from a shelter, or from an animal rescue league, and give it a good home, and lots of love from two great kids.

Check those places first. They need families, for lots of dogs and cats.

My daughter just "adopted" a thoroughbred Boxer dog, and is "fostering" another Boxer pup, through a local Boxer rescue league.

Folks losing their homes, through the bad economy, and the mortgate crisis, are also having to give up their pets.

Be wonderful to give one of these abandoned pets a good home.

Just like the Bush girls, the kids have about as much experience and smarts to be president as their dad.

Ralph....the history, which people like you tend to ignore, is the Rep. had control of the congress and the Presidency and what did that get us? No energy policy, record debt, no immigration policy and a miss managed war.

Adopt a pet, Don't buy. Rescuing a dog is a better idea, even if you have to pay a small surcharge for the veterinary care at the shelter! My 2 rescued dogs have brought great joy to my families' lives and they were not euthanized at the same time.

Life involves series of journeys. To some it is a journey along footpath.
To others, it is a journey on a blvd.
To yet others, it is a journey that ended in a cul-de-sac.
No one has a choice in the matter for no one holds the key to the chambers of tomorrow.
For Malia and Sachia, the journey has just began.

This IS news. When I place my vote for the president, I want to know him – I want to know his plans for our future, his stance on every political view, etc. But I want to know about him as well. I want to know how he interacts with his children and his quirky side.

These are the things that make a person and the reasons behind their decisions in life – and in our future country.

Shouldn't somebody in the media start criticizing Obama right about now for 'pimping' his family like they did Hillary over Chelsea?

If you don't like it, don't read it. The headline speaks for itself! When it's an election this important everything is news to everyone in the media! I did not think the I-Pod story was news, but hey I had the option not to read it just as you do! If you hate this man so much then why do you read the articles about him? Do you just like to bring negativity where you leave your mark, hmmm makes me think about your home life! Show me one person, I don't care what background they have, who have not lied, misspoke or went back on their word for whatever reason! No one in this country is holier than thou especially when you have priest molesting kids! So stop with the hate and funnel that elsewhere, we really don't care to read it.
