what i don't get is how mccain accepts money from g.w. bush, both private donations and money from fund raisers setup by bush, himself! but he doesn't dare openly admit such or even mention his affiliation (past or present) with bush. if i were bush, i'd be pissed at mccain. he takes his money and then goes and stabs him in the back. personally, i feel that both of them aren't worthy to lead this nation anyways, so whatever... How can it be reasonably argued that a McCain administration would not be like the second Bush administration?

Same policies.

Same people running the campaign.

Same ideology.

Same goals.

Same vision.

You guys should explain how the new style pandering McCain really isn't just McBush.

By the way, it looks like Romney will be McCain's VP candidate. McCain said that Dan Quayle was not a good example because he was not ready to accept the VP role when he was selected. According to this logic, McCain would let his possible VP candidate get more exposure. No one gets exposure more than Romney.

George Bush will speak on Monday and John McCain will accept the nomination on Thursday. Will George Bush wait there until Thursday to meet McCain? Unlikely. By tradition, the candidate will NOT be at the convention on Monday. It is pretty clear to me they will NOT together over there.

But George Bush will also speak on Thursday or Wednesday. But this is another George Bush, the father who is more popular than the son.

We Republicans will be sorry one day for turning our back on President Bush. History will be very kind to him. Above all, he will be known as The Great Protector just as Reagan was The Great Communicator. Bush gets trashed for two issues: The war and the economy. Try Googling a list of the reasons we went to Iraq; the quotes and proof provided by EVERYONE (Bush, Dems, Britain, Russia . . . everyone) is remarkable. Bush's biggest failure has been not keeping that info at the forefront. And I challenge anybody to tell me one economic policy of Bush's that has either led to this current economic downturn or was opposed by Democrats. My friends, it's not enough to simply say, "Bush ruined the economy! He's stupid!" Someone, anyone, do some research and give me one thing that Bush or the Republicans did to cause this slowdown . . .

I apologize for stereotyping PUMA's as frustrated housewives. However, I would like to point out that occasionally we don't get the candidate we support. I never voted for Bush and felt I knew he would be a failure. I feel that same thing about McCain. How about this Brandon....This time let's (as Americans) hire the smart guy? What do you say? If you listened to McCain's positions and can't agree with but a few of them and Obama's positions (similar to Hillary's) why wouldn't an Obama presidency be a better choice? I just to put an aside from today's politics and comment on the latest Iranian threats directed against America and Israel. to quote one of our greatest Generals Douglas MacArthur : " In War There is no substitute for Victory". and Harry Truman had listened to 5-Star General Douglas MacArthur, we would not have a communist North Korea after the Korean war..General MacArthur wanted to drive the Chinese out of North Korea and defeat the North Koreans decisively
but was stopped by the then President Harry Truman. Now into today's war threats from Iran, we need a General in Command of all our armed forces when war breaks out with Iran.
Iran's threats will be backed by dirty bombs with Nuclear material
as well (perhaps chemical weapons. They dont dare launch biological warfare. However, their missile are well deployed to strike not only Israel but our Forces in the middle East..
General Douglas MacArthur not only out generaled , out foxed, out maneuvered the enemy, He won his battles with less casualties.
We have better resources (for war) than any country. What we need
are fighting Generals who have commanded armies to victory.
We need a tactical expert like General MacArthur who knows how to overwhelm and out fight his enemies.. Now the Presidential election is months away and War seems likely before the elections.
If that is the case we need a war experienced Commander in Chief
To me , it makes sense to elect Senator McCain whether or not war starts before November or shortly after. Iran is bent on making nuke weapons and all the severest sanctions imposed by all the nations will not work.. We may face missile attacks and terror attacks with dirty bombs, but we can weather those ,if Iran is at all able to launch them.. Remember General Douglas MacArthur's words.
"In WAR, There is NO substitute for Vixtory. Anybody with plain commons sense knows what that entails : We have all the power
and equipment and ordnance plus technology to "defend" America
All we need is a Commander in Chief with GUTS and the best Generals to get into War hopefully without the likes of cheney and Rumsfeld.
