Clinton donors hesitant to show love for Obama

Once fierce rivals, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama stand together in June in Unity, New Hampshire.

Once fierce rivals, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama stand together in June in Unity, New Hampshire.

(CNN) - Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton team up again Wednesday, but not all Clinton's supporters are jumping on the Obama bandwagon despite her calls for unity.

Two fundraisers are scheduled Wednesday in New York and a third on Thursday, making it five times the two have appeared together since Clinton ended her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination last month.

Two of the events are aimed at raising money for Obama's campaign, and one is to help Clinton retire the debt from her failed run.

The joint appearances have been choreographed carefully to produce pictures of the former rivals standing side by side in an effort to help move beyond the bitterness of the hard-fought Democratic primary.

But for some of Clinton's top supporters, it's going to take more than just encouragement from the former first lady to get them to open their wallets and hearts to Obama.

This is awesome!! They don't need to support Obama because Clinton was and still is a better candidate than him. I may be a supporter, but the truth hurts and we need to move on like MoveOn.org needs to move on.

If Clinton had such big donors, she would not be in debt. Maybe those donors are refusing to pay her debt. After all, a large portion of the debt she owes is money she loaned her campaign.

This story is not plausible. Why would Clinton supporters bother to show up at the fundraiswer if they're hesitating and/or do not want to give money to Obama?

Who cares if the donors won't support Obama. Hillary knew what she was doing when she mismanaged her campaign funds.

The Obama donors are on a mission to save this country from at 3rd Bush term. Hillary supports who are not on the same mission probably are responsible for the 2nd Bush term.

If I am too understand they are mad at him because his donors didn't donate to her. This woman raised over $200 million dollars where did all that money go. And why won't they donate. I don't ever in the history of elections remember this much pressure beinng put on someone to raise money or pay off another candidates debt. It's 18 million cracks in the ceiling it seems like too me it's time for you all too put up or shut-up. If you want to vote for McCain go ahead. I think he can get it without you all. Because this is just redundant and silly.

So go ahead and be irrational and vote against everything you stand for. Knock yourselves out.

Lynn Forester de Rothschild calling Obama an "elitist" is funny. If she doesn't like the guy then shut up and don't give money to him and don't vote for him. Noboody's begging for your money Ms. I swear some of these Hillary supporters are like 3rd graders setting the women's movement back 100 years.

That is because Hillary's core supporters were mainly PWT from Appalachia and the Ozarks, with families whose geneological lines look more like fishnets than organizational charts, and who can pack up their doublewides and racist attitudes and head back into the boonies for all I care. Oh, that and the 200 or so men-hating lesbians and stupid old ninnies who comprise the PUMAs.

Hillary Clinton's supporters are acting so “female” and juvenile. They are pouting and acting like vindictive witches. Obama won fairly and squarely. They can claim sexism if they want. That’s what sore female losers generally do. But nobody cares!
Who in their right mind thinks that Obama's primary concern should be paying off Hillary's debt? For crying out loud, Obama is in the throws of the General Election campaign! They need to get a life. People of moderate means are sick to death of them. If I were Obama, I would show them the door. Obama is going to win. They can stay right on out of the campaign because ordinary Americans are sick of them and their money running the show anyway.

I just laugh when the Obama suporters can't seem to understand, that the reason we Hillary suporters will not vote for Obama is because:
    1) He has no experiece (the white house is not the place for OJT)
    2) If you check on his Senate voting record, you'll see that he voted present on over 100 laws in his short time in the senate (he choudn't seem to make up his mind how to vote then either)
    3) He claims he gets the majority of his contributions from average americans, but yet he scheduled scheduled and attended many secret (kept from the media) fundraisers in affluent areas, Such as billionare row in San Fransco where it would have cost you $2,300 per plate. I know I couldn't have afforded that meal.
4)He has REFINED his stand on issues such as, gun control, abortion. Why didn't he make those REFINEMENTS, when Hillary was still in the race? Sneeky little guy!
    5) What's to say once he is in the White house that everything he promised his Voters will be completely turned around. He will once again say A) You weren't listening, B) He never said that, C) He is just making more refinments to what he said he would do before he was elected.
One thing I know for a fact, If Obama gets the white house, It will definately be interesting!
I as many Mature voters have researched the Candidates. Hillary was the best choice. Now we are stuck with TWEEDLE DEE, AND TWEEDLE DUM. I will be staying home on election day, unless Hillary gets back on board as an independant.

I'll just cut to the chase:

If they want Obama's supporters to cut checks to Hillary, wouldn't it be wise for them to cut checks to Obama?

Obama doesn't need their money ... it would be nice to have but its not a GOTTA HAVE.

Hillary says that she's GOTTA HAVE more money and it can only come from Obama supporters since her's are tapped out.

So here is the question, do the "Hillraisers" truly care about Hillary or not? If so, grow up and get over it cut our man the check and we will reciprocate.

If Hillary had 18 million supporters that REALLY backed her ... what's that a BUCK a piece and her debt is paid off?? ....

Do the match Baroness de Rothchild. You obviously married for the money because you don't seem to have the brains to have made it for yourself.

Hey Marc PDX–how about something constructive for the discussion?

Yeah, yeah, I get it– you don't like Obama. You would prefer to support a flip-flopper who has sold out all of his integrity so Rush and Sean Hannity will say nice things about him.

Personally, I prefer the smart guy who considers all his options and then re-considers them as the situation changes. Eight years of a cowboy in the White House are more than enough.

I contributed time and time again to Hillary. I will not send one dime to obama. He is a fraud, a liar, an arrogant pompous no nothing. How the DNC could SELECT him rather than have the people ELECT who they wanted is beyond me.
I will be writing in Hillary or will vote McCain. The DNC will rue the day they paved the way for this racist to get the nomination. Everyday he shows us more and more what a joker he really is.
