Obama makes stop at VP vetter's office

Holder, right, and Caroline Kennedy are heading up Obama's VP search.
Holder, right, and Caroline Kennedy are heading up Obama's VP search.

(CNN) - Barack Obama made a surprise stop Wednesday morning at the Washington, DC law firm of his top VP vetter, Eric Holder.

Campaign aides declined to say exactly why the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee made the unscheduled stop, including whether Obama was specifically meeting with Holder.

Holder, a former deputy attorney general during the Clinton administration, is currently an attorney at the law firm of Covington and Burling. He serves as a legal adviser to Obama, and was tapped by the campaign last month to help steer the Illinois senator's search for a running mate.

Election Center: Who's on Obama's VP list?

David Axelrod, one of Obama's top political advisers, accompanied the presidential candidate into the office.

Obama and Axelrod were in the building for a little more than an hour.

No Hillary for VP!!!!!! A leopard doesn't change its spots!!!! The Clintons will do whatever it takes to be co-presidents. It ain't over 'til it's over!!!! The Clintons are a hard-nosed political team– two for the price of one. Their egos are so bruised that they will now do anything to be co-vice presidents. God help our future President Obama if he has the Clintons breathing down his back once in the White House. They will surely do whatever it takes to outshine and outdo him. My message to the Clintons: Get over it and move on– for the sake of our country and the Democratic party. Surely you can be of help to our government in other capacities.

If you only vote for Obama because Hillary's on the ticket – you're a worthless voter who doesn't care about our country or the actual ISSUES. Vote for the ISSUES.

All you're going to create by voting for McWar is a need for vengeance in people who are smart enough to look at the issues.

Obama can not talk his way, force his way, threaten his way, spin his way, boast his way or BUY his way into the hearts of Millions of Americans of both genders and all ages and all party affiliations.

Hillary has our love and respect because, turns out, she was the REAL deal- not pandering, no hype of change, no smoke and mirrors. She was not a internet marketed icon pushed by the media. She was her own, hard-working self. Hillary rolled up her sleaves and walked and answered our questions with her solutions. She worked for and EARNED our devotion, loyalty, admiration, respect, love and votes. SHE WAS A TRUE LEADER AND A CHAMPION.

Obama is the maurading cocky, boastful person so full of himself that he divided the once unified democratic party.

Hillary for VP – No Hillary on ticket, my vote will be written in for her as President. Just can't vote for a guy with no experience and from what I can see so far no real stance on anything. He changes positions according to what he thinks people want to hear. On one single day, talking to two different groups, he changed his position on the Iraq war.

This guy wants votes at any price. This election is about what he wants, not about what the American people need. Moreover, he's an elitist and blatently insulting to Americans who think differently than he does. His arrogance is appalling.

Obama is derned if he does and derned if he doesnt.
    Pick Hillary that is...
It is too bad that everyone is up in arms, but PUMA has a point and it is the DNC that is to blame. Anytime the voting process is messed up, even innocently, the party responsible is going to have problems regaining the trust of it's advocates.
    PERIOD.
The DNC allowed a dark cloud to creep over the primary, (yes, the FL/MI sham), not necessarily the candidates (BO,HRC).
And its a shame, because Obama may have been the legitimate winner all the way around; but as long as there is even a slight shadow of doubt...
I think both candidates are paying the price for it, and will for some time. TOO BAD.
    But keep the criticism fair.
These character allegations w/out example are getting pretty stale!

I'm surprised that Obama didn't take his kids and his wife to the vetter party. Seems he likes pimping his family. Of all the gall.

He makes mistake after mistake and no one has the guts to call him dumb. Those are just dumb mistakes. We don't need another dummy in the white house. Bush was too much.

Obama's wife is certainly a piece of work. Can't wait to see her back in Chicago where she belongs. They will not protect our values. Quite the opposite. Our tax money will go to the welfare queens and to the people in Kenya.

BHO Supporters- If we can beat the Clinton's, we can beat the Republican's with their weak, old, frail, won't make it through his first term candidate! And I personally want to thank all the PUMA, pacts, and ORG's for helping us get BHO's name out. Remember, whether it is good or bad publicity, it's all good publicity cause people are talking about him! Thanks keep it up!

PS- CNN loves the Obama talk!

All you flip-flop watch dogs are focused on the wrong guy. McCain is a wind sock. A very old, self-ingrandizing, wind sock. He is the biggist change artist and ego-maniac. I'M a HERO, I'm a HERO, I'm a HERO. For a guy who is opposed to talking about his time in Nam-he sure advertises it a lot. There are many, many war heros, and I bless them all, but McCain should be ashamed of politicizing his time as a POW. See heros eveyday-they are women and men living with children in tent citiies because they lost their homes and jobs- dying in hospitals because the had no health care- Vets on street corners, disabled and hungery and they know McCain betrayed them by not voting for their benifit package. McCain is opposed to hope because he is angery and wants to keep fighting- and fighting-but not take care of our Vets

Clinton isn't the answer for the VP. If you've run out of options, pick Jerry Remy over Clinton. At least he won't sabotage your campaign.

  24. Propaganda

Obama bragged that he was the uniter... but he totally wrecked, damaged and destroyed the democratic party with his underhanded, dirty style of "new" politics. Nasty filthy vulgar politics of trashing a fellow democrat, race-baiting and strong-arming for votes.

Obama gloated that he would be able to win over the HRC supporters but not the othe way around. See how wrong he was in gauging his own abilities? Hillary was humble and never gloated nor bragged. She was too busy working for the good of ALL Americans, he was too busy blowing his own horn.

    Which do YOU prefer?
What OTHER promises will Obama fail to deliver on?
His greatness is just illusion created by skillful manipulation of perception by propaganda.
