Friday, July 11, 2008 Email to a FriendAdvertisement
The race for the White House is getting a bit closer. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Barack Obama’s lead over John McCain down to a statistically insignificant single percentage point, 43% to 42%. Prior to today, Obama had enjoyed at least a four-point advantage every day since Hillary Clinton dropped out of the race over a month ago. This is the first time his support has fallen below the 45% level since May 31.

You do not need to look polls to know it is not good for McCain. If the economy is the issue in election, at the current moment, there is no hope for McCain. The stock market is tanking, housing price is sinking, and oil price keeps going up, there is no way for Republicans to win. Do you notice that Obama campain is limiting his exposure to public? The Obama campain would love to hide Obama from public if it was possible to avoid any major gaffes. If there are no major gaffes, he will win. People will vote against Republicans.

However, the economic bad news cannot keep getting worse. When stock prices go down a lot, bargain hunters will get in and the stock market will recover somewhat. The same thing is applied to the housing prices. When people start to use less gas, the oil price will moderate. A lot of developing countries have got into the trouble because of high oil prices. They will use less oil too. Therefore, getting out all the bad economic bad news now might actually help McCain in the Fall. If the gas price goes down below $4 in the Fall, people might feel better even though it is still very high.

Like a football game, the Obama campain is playing very conservatively. They have a lead. They are trying to play ball control offense, not fumbling the ball away. On the defense, they are trying to stop quick scores by the opponent.

If the bad economic news keep popping up, Obama will win by default. It is a very good strategy. In fact, the Obama campain might find a way to avoid debates with McCain, or reduce three debates to one or two. Please mark my prediction. If the situation is like now, and if Obama is still leading conformtably in polls, his campain will try to reduce the number of debates or avoid the debates all together.

However, if the economic news become better, or if there is another war, or a terrorist attack, mood can change very quickly. The strategy does leave an opportunity for McCain who can show he does have a plan for the country that is different from Bush.

Wait everyone!!! Obama believes in CHANGE and HOPE!!! And he's so nice looking!!!! That's all we need in a president, right? oh, and he says funny things at just the right time....and he can read a teleprompt. Sure....that's qualification enough!!!

Actually, for you slow liberals -I'm being sarcastic. Wise up, America. Snap out of it. This guy is a radical leftist that will destroy America. Don't believe it? Look how socialism has ruined Europe. No coincidence that UK,France Italy,Germany and Denmark are electing conservatives. Gee....I wonder why.

Why do so many of you still feel the need to bring Hillary into it? She's out of it, you should be happy now, though I'm not. But give it a rest, find another dog to kick. If Obamites want him to win so bad, how about campaining against McCain for a change? Good gawd, you guys are all still so rabid about Hillary you can't focus. This is one reason that even as a life long Democrat, and black man, I won't be voting Obama in the fall.

First he Gramm calls us whiners and says that we are in a mental recession. Then he says he meant leaders were whiners, not Americans ( a lie), but stands by his recession comment. Then in an interview with The Washington Times, Gramm then says that "Technically, a "recession" is two straight quarters of negative growth; so technically, we may in fact not be in a recession. Or we might, but don't yet know it." He is a top Economic advisor for McCain, but doesn't speak for him. Now McCain admits he knows nothing about the economy. This is a sad state of affairs.

Oh please. How can anyone still support McCain after hearing his campaign co-chairman and top economic adviser, Phil Gramm, complain that we're a "nation of whiners" when it comes to the economic problems we're facing? These McCain backers should have their heads examined! What selfish hypocrites!

I can't believe the American people are so stupid to believe what Obama is saying. I have never seen such a political person with such warped ideas. Why don't the newspeople ask him hard questions? In my opinion, he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Is the end of time really this close?

All America should be on her knees praying for America's survival of our heritage.

I dont understand the concept of Obama is winning and yet some people here say "It doesn't look too good for Obama" - what do you mean ?

What I find more pathetic is that 41% of this country wants to vote for Mccain ! Where have you all been for 8 years ? I mean, even if you hate Obama, do you really think continuing the current policy will help america ?

What I find more pathetic is that 41% of this country wants to vote for Mccain ! Where have you all been for 8 years ? I mean, even if you hate Obama, do you really think continuing the current policy will help america ?

OBAMA – HILLARY '08

Hey Hispanic for McCain:

McCain's not for you, you blithering idiot. He wants a fence up! He's only courting you to get your vote. And learn how to spell! Recite the Pledge of Allegiance and then come back and put in your 2 cents. If you don't like it, please allow me to escort you BACK to the border!!!

Listen to the next time you hear John McCain making a speech, and listen on how many times he says the words 'MY FRIENDS' would you ever trust anyone who calls you his or her friend without even knowing who you are? next time you go to buy something and the salesperson calls you their friend, would you still buy or not? I hope John McCain reads this one, this could be one of the reasons he is falling behind in the polls, Nice guy..who is not a very good liar, but he knows the only way to win this one, is for us just to be his friend.

Well, I am a Republican who was going to vote for Hilary. Sadly I think it will prove to be true that the Democrats and the media totally screwed up with their obvious bias in backing Obama. He is clearly a waffler and has no experience. McCain would not be my choice, but I will make sure to vote for him in November - my vote will be against the elitist Obama and that horrid un-American wife of his.

I am amused at all the celebration of the ignorant Obama supporters, notice most of their postings are riddled with misspellings...lol. Does anyone think the terrorists won't come after us hard with such an inexperienced yahoo in office? What's he gonna do when Iran bombs Israel or worse...schedule a tea party?

Get real folks - Obama will never win - the Dem's saw to it when they discriminated against Hilary...Ha Ha.

This could just mean that the blue states will become more blue and McCain could win with electorial votes and not popular votes. From polls it looks like Obama will be popular on the West Coast, the Northeastern United States, around the Great Lakes, Colorado, Hawaii and New Mexico, but hated everwhere else. Obama will not be able to unify anything and that may include his own party.

The Economic problem we have now.....
It could had been worse without the Bush tax cuts in 2001. It is keeping us the ability to compete for the investors to stay in the U.S.

If you are that bad off that you want our country to be a socialist country, obama is the one. If you want this country to be about capitalism, and getting 'ahead' yourself, McCain is the one.
for all the naysayers & Bushhaters out there, jus remember we have been free from attack since 9-11. The liberals in congress have fought Bush every step of the way on this, but eventually give in. The democratic congress has wasted more time and effort fighting Bush than doing anything constructive for our country, right or not. Given a chance, they will ruin us.

I agree with Willkel....stated it perfectly. I honestly hope that when voters turn up at the polls they will really consider what they are doing. I'm not thrilled with McCain-but he has proven leadership, and he is not going to do anything that will hurt America. Obama is an unknown that will destoy this country. He is a radical....and he will act like a radical. We can't elect him. Don't do it America.

For michelle and bern

How can one call someone elitist when they were brought up the way the Obama's were. I had to struggle to get past a low to no ncome upbringing and if I'm considered an elitist I EARNED it - whatever being an elitist means to you! Actually you have both given me a laugh and it makes me see why the USA is in the state it's in today - people who think (or not) like you.

Hillary is a has been and I know many people who have switched to Barack (from McCain) so your votes will be negated if your 'blackmail' words ring true when November rolls around.

Bless your pointed little heads.

He may still be ahead in poll (getting right wing votes and losing left wing votes) but his campaign contribution is dwindling after his right wing supports. Right wingers do not donate as evident from McCain's campaign contribution, they rely corporate donations.

After voting for FISA, Obama would need to rely on telecom companies and other corporate bodies for his campaign donations.

Remember "Religious Right is neither".

Go to pollster.com and you will see that this is not true. Nobama is falling in the polls and McCain is climbing.
It is the same with the fundraising. Nobama is falling, McCain is rising.
This will be the trend until the convention when the DNC finally realizes their mistake and kicks this fraud to the curb.

And to Len in Colorado:

Is this acceptable to you?

Wow, only the yahoos at CNN and you morons who actually believe their polls would get excited about this. Please recognize CNN is not a legit news source, is biased towards BO, and will actually manipulate the facts to make a story that shows their candidate in a good light. Stop being sheep and look at REAL information sources....try Gallup or Rasmussen.

Why is he only up by 8? The Republicans are in disarray, even according to them. Obama should be up by 15-20. This really spells big trouble for Obama because if and when the Republicans get it together,
Obama will be behind by 10.

As usual CNN's bias causes them to see everything backwards.
