There are plenty of religous nuts McCain can choose from and the nuttiest would likely be Romney. Remember in the primaries this guy stated he believed every word in the bible. He didn't say whose bible just that he believed every word in it.

That same statement would not come out of the mouths of 99.99% of religous leaders as they wouldn't want to cast themselves as being that gullible. Therefore either Romney is a liar and made the statement to impress his church or he is an idiot and a dangerous one at that.

Many people will trash Huckabee for his Confederate flag comments and list him as insensitive. It was in his best interest as a politician to leave that subject alone. Others criticize him because they instantly tie him to the "Christian Right" and the so-called "Moral-Majority". Sadly, he offered so much more. As a moderate-minded independent voter (who tends to lean to the right) I felt Huckabee had a small hint of what Obama offers. He wanted to bring change, clean up the tax system, offer more jobs to Americans, etc. Rightly so, he isn't 'Presidental' material, but I think whether its McCain OR Obama, they should at least consider him for a cabinet position. We need a different kind of politician.

To see McCain's economic vision through, a strong economic background should be the choice. I believe McCain has what it takes to take care of the social issues across the board but need someone to balance his vision from a business perspective with proven record. There should be some balance in the ticket.

McCain isn't selecting based on the qualificantions a& characteristics of his VEEP as it pertains to executing the job properly.

Mike Huckabee should be the president, not anyone's VP. Huckabee is a guy who galvanized the Republican base and whose genuine love of America and for all Americans made many of us proud to be Republicans again.

McCain will almost certainly lose the election without Huckabee, but Huckabee would be wise to sit this one out. Wait till America gets Obama out of its system 4 years from now and realizes what a mistake it has made.

Poor Mike. He's said and stood for some pretty stupid things in the past, and I'd never trust him to run the country – good man he is otherwise. But his mind must be conflicted right now, accepting McCain as being his party's premier nominee. Better to head for cover (ie. Fox) I guess.

At least the two men are convivial, unlike, perhaps, the relationship between the libertarians/independents and the social conservatives.
