GWB does not want the war over, that's why its going on six years and well 4000 American lives have been lost. That doesn't even include the thousands of Iraqi caualties. Saddam Hussein had been captured and killed. Osama Bin Laden is still free and HE was responsible for 9/11.

As far as him "preaching" to black men, he experienced what it was like not to have his father as did I and the majority of the people I know. I agree with him and so do all the studies and data confirming what he said. Just like Bill Cosby was saying a little while ago.

As for Obama visiting Palestine...who said it was his first stop? They are just the ones leaking information about a proposed date. Last time I checked, we have the worse relationship with Islamic Nations, so even if it is his first stop, it is also the area where the most work and diplomacy is needed. Might I also add that people in America really need to set aside their prejudice thoughts towards Muslims. It is almost as if 'Muslim' goes with devil worship or something and that couldn't be further from the truth. Just because some people are extremist in the religion, Americans shouldn't stereotype the religion. I seem to recall some Christians using their religion as a reason for slavery. Doesn't make it right!

Last, but certainly not least...as an African-American wife and mother, Obama's decision to speak out on the subject of the absence of fathers in our community is always welcomed until it is no longer an issue. Since he grew up without his father, I believe he can speak on the subject from first-hand experience. Last time I checked, you didn't have to be ordained to speak the truth! If his speech changed the thinking of just one man, it was one more than what we had before....we call that progress.

Why does the New Yorker lampoon Obama as a Muslim and his wife as a Muslim terrorist? Jewish voters from New York. Why did Hillary Clinton become militaristic toward Middle East policy? She was elected from New York – a state with a sizable percentage of Jewish voters. Guess what PAC lobbies the most loudly for bombing Iran, keeping U.S. troops stuck in Iraq, and supporting both the Bush Administration and John McCain? It's AIPAC (American-Israel Political Action Committee).

To the extent Jewish voters want aggressive U.S. military involvement in the Middle East, we will continue to see Jewish resentment of Barack Obama. You see . . . Obama puts U.S. interests ahead of Israel's. Imagine that.

Are you kidding me? He is going there to get first hand information to deploy diplomacy and ease tensions between countries as well as the US.

As for him "preaching" about absentee fathers, he is a child of a fatherless home and has worked in communities where there is an excess of absentee fathers so he has first hand knowledge of how that affects the family and especially the child(ren).

Get off your computer and volunteer in low income communities for a month before you decide you are better than he is.

After languishing under Republican dominated government for far too long, I have waited for a leader to immerge that will up hold Democratic Party values. I had great hope in Gore, Biden, and Edwards and I have been disappointed again and again as our great country continues to diminish under the strain of Republican mismanagement.

I see in Obama this long awaited leader with his superb intellect, solid integrity and savvy political skills. Obama shows tremendous potential to work effectively with our allies, to pacify our enemies, and to lead American in a positive direction something.

Did you work on being stupid or were you born that way.

If any President wants to stop a war, then he does it simply by ordering a halt in combat. If Bush wanted to stop the war, then our folks would be back home right now! Obviously you have NEVER served in the military or you would know the answer IS that simple.

You cannot be serious. First of all, he is on a diplomatic mission to get information to get first hand information to deploy deplomacy and try to ease tensions between these countries as well as ours.

As for him preaching, he knows what it is like to live in a home without a father and has seen with first hand experience the large number of homes that are lacking a father.

Maybe you should do a month of community work so that you can see for yourself what he is talking about before you dare to judge.

One candidate main campaign focus is on killing, war and publicly trying to degrade other nations and their leaders.

One candidate advocates diplomacy with other nations and a peaceful withdrawl of troops from an occupied country.

The entire world is watching what ordinary Americans will do as their choice for President will clearly reflect their mindset and how they regard and want to treat other countries and their citizens.

Plain and simple this election will be a barometer of how the American public think!!!!!

CNN, don't know why you closed comments on that story at 7 AM Pacific but it has pissed off a lot of people.

Any media that seeks to perpetuate a false and misleading image of a candidate should not have 1st ammendment privaledges.

This is an appeal to folks that are John McCain's age because they've tried to make Michele look like Angela Davis. The New Yorker wants to evoke a subliminal anti-Obama response in moderate republicans and independents that are leaning towards the Senator.

Most folks 45 and under won't put the pieces together, but I see it so clearly. I didn't know we allowed public media to engage in this sort of blatant electioneering.
