Watch Brianna Keilar's one-on-one interview with Cindy McCain.

(CNN)–Cindy McCain, a lifelong racing fan, spent her Saturday taking a spin around the track at the Indy Car race in Nashville, Tennessee. In a CNN exclusive, CNN's Brianna Keilar sits down with the wife of presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, to discuss their mutual love of car racing and the side of the potential first lady that most voters haven't seen yet.

Let's see what money can do!!!! God bless Cindy McCain…..

T GUY   July 14th, 2008 9:34 am ET

DID ANYONE CHECK HER FOR SOBRIETY OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE.

John, Brooklyn, New York   July 14th, 2008 9:39 am ET

Yeah…like she's one of us. She is an elitist who thinks that showing up at NASCAR makes her a "good ole girl".

Bendo   July 14th, 2008 9:43 am ET

why is this news??? why not report on her NOT releasing ALL of her tax returns and how much she inherited from her daddy and which is the real reason MCLaim left his disfigured ex wife for Cindys family money!

John McShame, Obama Is Going to Tax You & Cindy, but Not Me & 95% Americans Making < $250,000/Yr   July 14th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Oh, please………..STOP! dont wanna see this botox queen never, EVER

JIM...TX   July 14th, 2008 9:49 am ET

Dang…maybe Cindy's not as elite as we thought if she can get into Indy cars. Maybe she should spend more time away from John an let people see how common she can be. Still I don't think this will help her husband win the hearts an minds of many.

GO OBAMA:)

James Hussein, SC   July 14th, 2008 9:51 am ET

Yeehaaw! Just one of us alright.

Mike   July 14th, 2008 9:52 am ET

Why is it that every time Obama announces some special event, the McCains come in two days later and say they always had that idea?

Turnabout is Fair Play   July 14th, 2008 9:53 am ET

Ah, who's copying who now. First Obama does it with NASCAR, then Cindy does it..interesting that she continues to be a follower..First her husband steals from Obama's "Change we can believe in" with his "A leader we can believe in" and now this..what's next McLames?

uuuugh!!   July 14th, 2008 9:53 am ET

she just got bought out!!!! ching ching McCains

Oh Yea!   July 14th, 2008 9:56 am ET

This is no news

Hillbilly for Barack Obama   July 14th, 2008 10:05 am ET

Perfect metaphor for the filthy rich, out of touch mindset of the McCain Family.

While the majority of Americans are struggling to put enough gas in their cars to get to work, Queen Cindy is charting her private jet to cruise around in Indy cars and promoting a sport which is nothing less than consumptive, wasteful, environmentally degrading and elitist.

If McCain gets elected, the rich > poor gap will widen exponentially.

RJ, CA   July 14th, 2008 10:05 am ET

I like her. She's upbeat and positive. But wait — she inherited money — so she MUST be evil — never mind that she uses it generously to help children all over the world!

Cindy McCain For President.

Mikey   July 14th, 2008 10:12 am ET

She seems like a really nice woman, but did anyone notice how anemic her relationship with John McCain seems to be…at least based on this "kiss"?

Xavier   July 14th, 2008 10:12 am ET

Has Cindy McCain even mentioned the selling of Anheuser Busch to a foreign country? So much for American made and American brewed. I know that the company has more than one person in charge, but a speech urging investors to keep it American owned would have been nice. Wonder what the Nascar crowd thinks about this.

Jose Card - Independent   July 14th, 2008 10:13 am ET

Car-racing is such a cool sport.
Who said McCain is too old?

FLORIDA Voter for Barack Obama   July 14th, 2008 10:13 am ET

IT'S ANOTHER SNEAKY MOVE FROM THE MCCAIN CAMP. FIRST OBAMA SPONSORS A CAR, NOW THIS?

YEAH RIGHT!!

THEY DO NOT POSESS ANY O.R.I.G.I.N.A.L.I.T.Y.

Karen   July 14th, 2008 10:14 am ET

Why am I not surprised that the McCain's enjoy a wasteful, insipid hobby–cars going round and round a track as fast as they can using huge amounts of fuel. Now that's a real engaging pasttime for someone who claims he will lead us to energy independence.

FEDUP   July 14th, 2008 10:14 am ET

Obamabots start you mouths, but please ingage your brain first…

Independent-woman-4-Obama   July 14th, 2008 10:14 am ET

Of course, the "average" American likes Cindy. She reminds them of Barbie!

The woman is out of touch with the average-American. She does not know what it is like to struggle, to be without healthcare, to have to say no to her child because you have to save the money to put fuel in the car!

A VOTE FOR MCCAIN IS A VOTE FOR MORE OF THE SAME! WITH 80% OF AMERICANS SAYING OUR COUNTRY IS HEADED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION………. ITS A WONDER THAT ANYONE WOULD VOTE FOR MCCAIN! OH YEAH…….. YOU DON'T WANT A BLACK-MAN AS PRESIDENT!

BUSH AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE LEAVING OUR NATION WITH …… $10 TRILLION IN NATIONAL DEBT……….. AND YOU WANT MORE OF THE SAME???????????????????????????????

Jake, NC   July 14th, 2008 10:17 am ET

o wow. way to bump down my opinion of you as an elitist, show up at a nascar race. It also shows that the stereotype that all southerners like fast cars is still alive.

Obama '08
(if you still think he is an elitist so you go to McCain you are crazy, look at his wife)

Shay   July 14th, 2008 10:17 am ET

tsk tsk tsk shame on you McCain stealing Obama idea

Is this is the news? how sad, I have seen stepford wives already.

Pam, WI   July 14th, 2008 10:20 am ET

Who cares about her? She is not the typical American woman. In fact there is nothing typical about the McCains. They are not normal Americans. They are the elite and filthy rich. Yet they somehow expect us to believe that they feel our pain, as if they have experienced it, yeah right.

jimmy from Idaho   July 14th, 2008 10:24 am ET

no news to me

Me   July 14th, 2008 10:25 am ET

John McCain really hit the jackpot when he left his first wife and married this rich chick only weeks afterwards. I don't understand how any real republicans can accept his value set.

obama 08-12   July 14th, 2008 10:26 am ET

who cares what cindy is doing, she still an elitist.

PSK   July 14th, 2008 10:26 am ET

Ms Keilar might think America is interested in her sit-down chat about her "mutual" love of car racing with this woman. (I'm sure the ad revenues for this piece will be enormous.) I know I have better things to do than watch this tripe.

Chosas Atlanta   July 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

Can we please BAN racing! What is the point? Burn the most oil you can in a given day?

Jane, MS   July 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

She's still a plastic Barbie doll, who doesn't understand the average American's problems. She spends $750,000. in one month on her credit card. That's fine for her, but the rest of us are focussed on the economy right now.

Obama 08

It's called pandering to the commons.

Her husband will never get my vote.

Obama 08

Peggy - Tx   July 14th, 2008 10:39 am ET

I like Cindy McCain. I feel sorry for her through because she is married to man old enough to be her father. When she reached middle age, McCain was already a white haired grumpy old guy. She does seems emotionally immature, not because she is riding in a race car – there is nothing wrong with that - but I do question weather she is a source of strength for McCain or an emotional drain on him.

jen   July 14th, 2008 10:39 am ET

Some more hard hitting reporting from CNN when it comes to the McCain's. Now it is time for two negative articles about Obama.

Sara   July 14th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Why is this NEWS!!!!

Turnabout is Fair Play   July 14th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Christ, I wish I could afford the gas to go WATCH a NASCAR race let alone participate in one, must be nice to be born with a gold spoon in your mouth..yep, nice little 100 million dollar inheritance..let's spend another $700,000 of it on another shopping spree after the races eh Spendy McCrane?

karen-phoenix   July 14th, 2008 10:42 am ET

I'd like to see her live on $30,000 a year like average American's do!!!
Making a hundred million a year keeps reality at a distance. Privalege has its rewards but I finally want reality in the White House!!!! Go Obama!!!!

Brad - California   July 14th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Who cares what the rich wife of an old-age right-wing politician does? Why is Cindy McCain even newsworthy? Maybe she could just go back to the beauty salon and live happily ever after. Who cares?

Raymond Duke   July 14th, 2008 10:49 am ET

I like this woman. So she is rich. You know I love all you democrat left wingers crying because she inherited her fathers business and made it more successful. Hey at least somebody in her family worked and created a successful business. Maybe some of your dads and moms should have worked and created something. I and my family so far aren't rich but you know what, I don't hold it against her. At least she has helped a few lifes through her generiosty. You can't save the world or a bunch of people who don't want to help themselves. Parasites don't need help they just need exterminated At least she hasn't made degrading statements against america and did the old "FIST BUMP" yet. I bet if she contributed big money to the Obama camp , did the fist bump and talked about america in negative tones she would fit right in with you Obama people.

Jeff   July 14th, 2008 10:49 am ET

I think the Obamazombies attacks on Cindy McCain are just a hoot. Listen to them cry when anyone should attack Michelle or Obama. I will be staying home in November. I cant support a Republican but I wont support Obama or his disgusting supporters.

Jason   July 14th, 2008 10:51 am ET

So i guess money is such an evil, evil thing… obamabots would be happy only if she would rake her fortune into a big pile and set it on fire… and then she would be critised for being environmentally unsound

Tony   July 14th, 2008 10:51 am ET

No one cares about the excellent adventures of this Stepford, spoiled billionheiress.

How about some legitimate news!

OOPS! Forgot this is CNN. Like asking FoxNews to be unbiased and accurate.

Mike - Texas   July 14th, 2008 10:54 am ET

Cindy is definitely a multi-facetted woman !!!

It sure does annoy the liberals that she can succeed in other ventures while Michelle is so limited in her abilities.

Dr.No   July 14th, 2008 10:55 am ET

CNN you are so bias, i tried to post my comment twice and both times you refuse to list them….UNFAIR>>>

Matt, Minneapolis, MN   July 14th, 2008 10:57 am ET

Hey, Hillbilly… It's not much different than Obama suporting a NASCAR team. Only difference is that it's a successful business woman doing it with her own personal money on one hand, vs an unsuccesssful beuracrat doing it with the publics money on the other. Tell me which is better.

Henry Miller, Cary, NC   July 14th, 2008 10:59 am ET

To Hillbilly for Barack Obama:

Why are the "rich" always "filthy"?

Could it be simple envy? You'd love to be as filthy as they are but you're just too lazy to try to make a few bucks?

People come in a huge range of abilities and characteristics, but, for the most part, only the "rich" are routinely described in such pejorative terms. "Rich" people are just like everyone else except that they have more money; great football players are just like everyone else except that they're more athletic. So why s it people fling around terms like "filthy rich" but not "filthy athletic"? Was Michelangelo "filthy artistic"? Was Shirley Temple "filthy cute"?

You're being played, Hillbilly. You're being manipulated, for the most part by Democrats, who've been playing the politics of envy for so long it's soaked into the national ethos. Politicians love setting up an us-versus-them situation just so they can play the hero of the "us" side. "We're the good people. We deserve good things. And those people aren't letting us have what we deserve! Vote for me and I'll teach those nasty people a lesson and give you everything you deserve at the same time!"

Think about it, Hillbilly. Has this kind of scheme ever actually helped anyone? Anyone aside from the politicians who get elected by practicing it, that is.

You're being played.

ps   July 14th, 2008 10:59 am ET

I think that commenters need to refrain from name calling and slurs.

As the wife of a candidate for President, many doors open and I think that it is great that she gets to do one like this, that she really likes. It probably makes up for some of the downsides of campaigning. What so many are ignoring is that racing is a long time love for her, not just a photo op (as I believe it was for Senator Obama).

Cindy McCain grew up with a father that personified the American dream. He saw an opportunity and grew a business. Cindy McCain now runs that business. She is not a trust fund socialite. She not only runs her father's busines, she has created a global charity for children, as well as raising her children. She has been very candid about the trials in her past and how she worked through them. Whether you agree with her husband's politics or not, I believe that she deserves some honest respect.

If you have a legitimate criticism, then state it. If all you are doing is name calling and making half-true slurs, then please don't bore us with your high-school antics.

Michael Lorton, Virginia   July 14th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Both Cindy and John McCain "love" watching grown men make four thousand left hand turns around a circle…..exactly what this country needs right now……what about making "right choices.?"

McCain=the draft   July 14th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Pandering!
You live in a different world, Cindy. Don't try to pretent you're one of us. It doesn't work.

mk   July 14th, 2008 11:01 am ET

I like her, but I like Michelle Obama a whole lot more! Cindy McCain may've had a long-time love of car races, but it seems like the Republicans are bringing her out for the photo-op a few days after Obama's team announced a one-time car sponsorship. She still seems inaccessible..

John McCain would have looked really old and tired in that video.

Manuel TX   July 14th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Wow.

The really vicious and unnecessary comments from the Obama supporters now continue with this woman.

You guys are very brave using a comments posting board. You would never make these comments directly to this woman however…because you are cowards.

Obamabots are spitting out their usual ignorance. If one really does a background look at Cindy McCain, one will find someone who actually works for a lot of causes that the Obama's talk about. However, Obamabots tend to be too intolerant of others to actually do any thinking for themselves. Perhaps Obamabots are the true "youtube" generation.

I question Cindy's patriotism for driving a race car.. there is some motive behind it.
This is how GOP would have gone after a Democratic candidate or their family.
Overall, this is not news. Cindy drove a race car, McCain drove a garbage truck??? There are more important things to address.

Patrick   July 14th, 2008 11:42 am ET

Hey, RJ! I AM a liberal, and I work, I am successful and happy.

As for Cindy McCain, as a Christian I am offended that John McCain committed adultery with her while still married to his first wife, and that he left his first wife and their three children to marry her. This makes her no better than Jezebel, and McCain is an adulterer who abandoned his wife and children when his first wife was disfigured in an auto accident. To me, this makes him morally unfit to be president.

Molly Weasley   July 14th, 2008 11:43 am ET

I wonder if this "other side" of Cindy McCain will contain her drug use, her stealing drugs, and her adultery with John McCain when he was still living with his first wife?

David, Silver Spring, MD   July 14th, 2008 11:49 am ET

Don't you mean she had her chauffeur take her for a spin around the track?

Mike, Syracuse NY   July 14th, 2008 11:50 am ET

Michelle Obama goes on the View and you Obamites are gushing all over it. Cindy McCain takes a spin in a race car, and you bash her. Could you possibly have any more of a double standard? At least the New Yorker got the coverage right.

Jenny, Rio Vista, CA   July 14th, 2008 11:52 am ET

Amazing. Here we have Barbie's grandmother with her 6 inch thick makeup pretending to be just one of the gals after putting 3/4 million dollars on her credit card. The media just think she is so wonderful but when Michelle buys herself a pair of earings she is so terrible.

This is what happens when corporations tell the media what to say and what to print. They will continue to rake in the money when the rich live in the White House. The last thing they want is someone who wants to help the average Joe.

And they know the American people are fool enough to believe what they say. Just read some of these blogs…. You lose your home, gas prices are ridiculous, dairy products are sky-rocketing but you will still vote for more of the same. If you vote for McSame and he does become president then don't start whining because that is what he will call you. A bunch of whiners.

Sherri   July 14th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

Let's burn a little more precious oil running in circles in a fast, gas hogging, pollution spewing, car. Isn't this just a great example of environmental responsibility? Car racing should be banned until the oil crisis is over.

Of course, the "average" American likes Cindy. She reminds them of Barbie!

The woman is out of touch with the average-American. She does not know what it is like to struggle, to be without healthcare, to have to say no to her child because you have to save the money to put fuel in the car!

————————————————————————————————

Why did you have a child if you can't even afford healthcare or fuel for yourself?

WORST PERSON!!!!   July 14th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Texas Trail Dog …….Unlike Michelle OBAMA, Now this is a woman to ride the rode with. She don't need no fist slapping and she is very PROUD OF AMERICA………..Proud of being a home WRECKER !!!

I think it's funny that Obama people are ripping on Cindy McCain for burning up oil at a NASCAR race when she was at an IndyCar race, and they run on 100% ethanol. How is that Obama NASCAR sponsorship coming by the way? You should know. You paid for it!

Looks to me like she should be out campaigning or doing some humanitarian work. Vote Republican and you vote for the rich!

I don't understand "moderation". It makes my head hurt.

BE - hey - that's better. Burn our food for folly.

Mike, Syracuse NY   July 14th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

Brendan H. Cindy McCain did release her tax returns. Please try to keep up. Or have you been too busy counting Obama's flip-flops?

Yes, she's wealthy. So why is that OK if your name is Kennedy or Edwards, but not McCain?

Foreign observer   July 14th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

She is a real poodle that never really worked. Different from Michelle Obama who´s an intelligent street dog.

Go Cindy!

Rita   July 14th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

DEMOCRATS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T LOSE FOCUS! Cindy seems like an all right person but lets focus on the task at hand. We don't need to vote for people just because their wife fits the sterotype of the ultimate "all-american girl" We've been missing out on a lot of smart and talented people just because we are not willing to let people outside of the "sterotype" have their chance to contribute OBAMA ALL THE WAY, GET FIRED UP AND READY TO GO, WE'VE GOT IT IN THE BAG IF WE STAY MOTIVATED………………………………………………………….

Chuck Rush under the bus   July 14th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Go Cindy,go,plenty of gas for race cars, air pollution and the morons that watch it.
