If those are the two Obama is considering then he had better go with Evan Bayh if he wants to win.

Obama is a fool for not choosing Hillary or Joe Biden. Too many still pi**ed off at him regarding Hillary and from the people I personally know who say they will not vote for him if Hillary is not the V.P. mean what they say. I've known most of them to sit out an election before.

This time is too important because whomever the next president is they will more than likely get to appoint as many as 3 justices to the Supreme Court ........................and it would be terrifying and devastating to the country if that person were to be John "McBush" McCain.

I have come to one conclusion: We all argue about the canidates and the VP choices. We argue policy and morals, we speculate on future oil prices and the economy. We complain about illegal immigration and taxes.

What everyone MUST realize is that it doesn't matter who is president next- AMERICA IS LOST!!! Our major corperations are owned by foreign investors, our unions are broken (thank you Pres. Reagan), our debt is owned by China (and other countires that don't like us)

Some day real soon America won't be America anymore- the foriegn investors will own us AND THEY WILL COME TO TAKE POSSITION of their property. Then they will tell us what our laws will be.

Think I'm wrong- do some checking for yourself. find out who owns the big employers in our nation (Budwieser just sold out, DICK Chenney moved Halliburton to Dubi) and who is loaning us money (China, France, Dubi). Tell your kids to learn to speek Chineese- they will own us soon. And our "law makers" aren't doing anything about it.

Enough already! Everybody with any political experience knows it's the epitome of bad manners to look like you're campaigning for the VP slot. Potential running mates have to be coy, and should be coy, about the VP job even if a deal has been sealed behind closed doors. It is the nominee's show and his decision who, when and how - NOT the potential running mate's. Only Mitt Romney doesn't know or care about the dance. Look out for more of the same, because for anyone serious about the position it is an unanswerable question.

Frieda in NY: "...almost everyone seems to be reluctant about becoming Obama's VP."

Yes, they are being coy, but that's common. After all, if they actively pursue it and then are not chosen, it makes them look bad. So they make non-committal statements publicly and don't look so bad if they are not chosen. If they are chosen, then they can do the beauty pagent surprise look, as if they're shocked and had not expected it but are oh-so grateful to be chosen.
More to your point, though, I've heard only one person give a Shermanesque declination (i.e., I do not want it and will not accept it). Neither Nunn nor Bayh have done so. In fact, Bayh has said he would accept if asked. Therefore, your statement is inaccurate.

Obama will be very stupid if he does not choose Hillary. Especially after voting for wiretapping last week that really pissed me off. I am a liberal but signed on as a democrat because I believed in Obama. He really screwed up in my mind and if he does not choose Hillary, I am voting for the Green Party, because I know that being a liberal and voting for someone with other intentions just so McCain does not get into office would be wrong. Obama, you are screwing up too early man.

We all know that Evan Bayh is a Senator and former Governor from Indiana and that his dad was Birch Bayh, who had quite a political career and was well known nationally. But, I've never really heard what Evan Bayh's foreign policy credentials are. Let's face it, anyone who is picked as Obama's running mate is going to need some serious foreign policy credentials. And it wouldn't hurt if they could help deliver one of those "purple" states. In that regard, Nunn looks very good on paper. Plus, he brings a certain gravitas to the ticket. But is he well-suited to the "attack dog" role generally relegated to the VP candidate?

So, youse guys want 4 more years of Bush, get real folks, McCain has voted with 'dubya' 90% of time since 2001. McBush and Gramm will throw us into a full blown depression. We are now seeing what Gramm envisioned while being the chief artichect of Reaganomics, well............it's not pretty

There should not be a question of who the V.P. running mate for Obama should be...Hillary!!! Who are these 2 men mentioned today?? Never heard of either of them. Seems rediculous to choose or consider a running mate that most of us do not know.

The big difference between Hillary and Obama is, she can get the job done. She has the determination and drive needed to fix this mess. I think Obamas' too green to be effective, too wishy-washy. He will flip like a leaf in a breeze. The big boys want the kid they can control rather then the strong confident woman Hillary is...I will write her name on my ballot and hope all of her supporters will do the same. Do not stay home, cast your ballot and pray for this country to survive the next 4 years..

People, after reading some of these posts I'm going to suggest some things, especially to you Hillary or McCain... fanatics;
1. Please, learn how to spell correctly.
2. Please, stop with the all caps, I can see it just fine typed normally.
3. Please stop threating people, its old. No one cares, Hillary will not be VP and she sure as heck will not run in 2012 (because as easy as it is to forget, there are MORE Obama supporters in the party, then not. And if we have to suffer with McCain for four years because of your pettiness, she won't make it past January for the next go round).

I'll tell you what the reality of the situation is; she lost, he won, now on to the convention. Some of you will tout any reason not to vote for Obama and the reasons are all very... well weak. Over and over again all of these ideas have been debunked yet, for some reason you refuse to see facts. Ironically, you say that his supporters are like robots and blind worshippers. You don't have to like him (no one cares), you don't have to like his wife (no one cares), but what you do have to do is make an informed decision which seems like you gave up on long ago. Just so you know, we're moving forward with or without you. No one cares if you vote for McCain because you've made it obvious over and over again on these completely inaccurate and ignorant comments some of you make over and over again (yet, never saying anything substantive, just bigoted and derrogatory). I would suggest Obama choose whomever HE wants as his VP, not who a bunch of whining "supporters" try to force on him. If anyone failed Hillary more than the media, more than her campaign, it was herself and her husband who felt it was ok to drag Obama through all of the contests for almost a year and a half, even though she knew since... at least march she could not catch him in contests or pledged delegates. But its old now, people get tired of trying to be practical with the irrational and emotional... and I'm a woman.

God help us all!

People in this country elected the stupidest man ever for president, twice and he still gets support for being dumber than anyone on the planet. That says a lot about how illiterate and misinformed so many people are in the USA.

And after the disaster of this government it's hard for them to believe that someone could actually come along who speaks the truth and is intelligent, so they are having a hard to to relate. And it's not McSane who had praised Bush on almost every policy and everything and he has done in the last 8 years. And worst of all. He does not inspire the country. Dems UNITE and FIGHT...

Many VPs in the past did almost nothing. Their influence was cutted by the president. Similar thing would happen to Hillary. Just a representative figure ! In fact VP can´t be a role of hers. Her destiny will be practical politics !

Hillary can´t do the VP job ! She is an active person to move things like f.e. health care. When you like to have her sleeping give her the VP.
Bayh and Nunn are both o.k for VP.

well if its not Hillary, My vote goes to McCain. Sorry Obama, choose correctly. The funny thing though is that many are trying to say that if Obama loses the Presidency, it will be Hillary's fault for running as long as she did and the campaign that was run. It was a primary, a fair primary and she did nothing wrong.

No one focused on Obama promising being a different kind of Politician, but was mischevious in his Senatorial elections- BIG HYPOCRITE!

They just want someone to blame if they don't win, and it wont be McCain, it will be Hillary. I can't stand Obama, and will only vote for him while holding my gaggs at the voting booth if Hillary is on the ticket!

Would these PUMA idiots please shut the F up? The whle premise behind your "movement" is the so called disrespect of your candidate. I was a Hillary supporter but once she said that she was in Camp Obama, I switched because those were my candidates wishes. Hillary and Bill did a lot to hurt her chances themselves--this does not squarely rest on BHO's shoulders. HRC still won primaries in various states. Conversely, BHO did a lot to hurt himself in the primaries yet he still primaries and that was due to the fact that people got to VOTE for the person that they felt best represented their interests. If you would take your interests into mind as to your radical fanaticism, you would clearly vote for BHO.

When people said that he hasn't relayed substantive matters, he has been on tour for MONTHS talking about various issues so that you will get to know what he stands for more intimately and yet you still criticize him for it. Grow up.

Personally, I think that he will pick Bayh because of the "picture perfect families" with their kids (Bayh's boys with Obama's girls), it placates to Hillary supporters (Bayh being a former supporter) and the Midwest will be up for play. You PUMA nut jobs that aren't trying to get a Dem in office should be and more importantly should be pushing for HRC on the SC where she could have far more impact then she ever could as president.

Obama should choose Roland Martin to be his V.P. Roland Martin often posts articles in CNN, which is very divisive and racially subjected, along with his dumb looking picture. Every time when Roland Martin comes out, Obama loses big, especially lossing among white, Asian and Latino.

Roland Martin is the best for Obama’s V.P. thus Hillary will sure have a chance to run again in 2012, and does not have to wait until 2016.

Roland Martin is the best for Obama’s V.P. thus Hillary will sure have a chance to run again in 2012, and does not have to wait until 2016.

Rant:
McCain has been talking about surge surge surge. Iraq Iraq Iraq. All he can argue about is the one tactlical decistion Dubya may have actually gotten right. McCain has been unsuccessfully mimicking Obama since the general election started. "change you can believe in", Obama says we should send 2 more brigades to Afghanistan McCain flip flops and now says he wants to send brigades to Afghanistan. During primary it was I support Bush 100%. "I agree with Bush on Iraq and Economy". Now he says Obama is '3rd Bush term' (wonder where I heard that?). First is was 100 years then it was 4 years. McCain's prisoner of war story proves him to be the real Manchurian Candidate only McCain's been brainwashed by the "Right" and that's just wrong.
Oh yeah, a panda bear would make a better VP than Mitt. And a panda bear would probably be a better president than Bush or McSame.

Bayh is a career politician and an opportunistic parasite. Having grown up in Indiana, I've watched him double-talk his way through election after election without ever taking a meaningful leadership stance on any major legislation. He is not a worth VP selection.

Stop Whining 7:09

.............So, Hillary Supporter, focus. Listen to Sen Obama. Hillary and Barack arent much different in their stance on the issues. Hillary just ran a bad campaign...........................
********************************************************

Stop Whinng

Of course there weren't much different in Clinton and Obama's issues, and that is because he COPIED ALL OF HER IDEAS!

Secondly, Obama was not elected he was selected by the DNC, and he is not officially the Democratic leader. Come the Denver Convention, we PumaPac, Just Say No Deal, Denver Group et al demand that the DNC put Hillary R. Clinton's name in NOMINATION FOR THE FIRST ROLL CALL.

Then if the delegates and super delegates vote, (in a closed vote) for Obama, then and only then will we consider him the legitimate leader, until then we believe he is the illegitimate presumptive nominee...

Yes, H.R. Clinton, truly amazing and she will be the Next President of America and that is something you can believe in!

I'm a Hoosier - Obama/Bayh is a perfect ticket. Bayh brings executive experience (two-term gov.), national security gravitas (10 years in Senate) and the two look good together. Plus Obama-Bayh has a great ring to it!
