McCain goes to foreign (County/States) visits empty handed to gather opinions from foreign sources and advisers during visits then make policy. This is weird. Second, Obama's visit is not a fact finding mission. He has his position made clear right from the "word go". He opposed the Iraq war, correctly foresaw its unbearable consequences, advocates for withdrawal and focus on Afghanistan. The surge and whatever success one may suggest are immaterial to him. Instead of doubting Obama's objection to the surge, for instance, the Americans should ask McCain how many Americans died both in Iraq and Afghanistan from when the so-called successful surge began? How much money spent in Iraq in the surge? How do such loss of lives and American tax payers money make America safer? I know even Obama commits serious mistake for making economy priority at the expense of the precious lives lost in the Iraq war, including the so-called successful surge. Hard to see the logic talking about war veterans and tour of duties while hardly mentioning innocently lost lives. Third, McCain's trap was to label Obama flip-flopper, he wanted him to revise his stance on Iraq's surge after the visit to get what to say in the Campaign trail.
