If it was a surge, when we bring the "surge" troops home, we would have the same number of troops, or maybe less than before the surge started. Escalation is an increase of troops. So, after the "surge" troops are all home, we have 18,000 more troops than we had before the surge. Surge, Really?

I, along with countless others I'm sure, am sick and tired of McSame claiming a flip flop on Iraq when there is none! Obama has always stated that he would take conditions on the ground into account. This is found on numerous video tapes, speeches and even in the debates.

Why does the press not call him on his continued lies? Can someone answer that, is the press that much in bed with McSame? What gives?

To say that either candidate has a viable strategy or even a handle on the situation in Iraq is purely asinine. Neither will know what to do until they are in office. Think about it people. Do you think that either has the full 'story'? I think not. Not until they have Executive power and those resources available to them with they truly be able to formulate a plan. Unbelievable how many liberals are posting. Clearly, so many of you hate Bush soooo much that you don't even listen or see how bad Obama will be for this country. He doesn't have the experience or the right plan for this country. You may not like McCain, but he'll make the tough decisions that will help this country recover(and that's where the problem is – anything tough, people shy away). Obama is a dynamic speaker and quite likeable, but all his BS doesn't add up.
Now's not the time to blame Bush or the GOP(what's done is done).
Actually listen to what the candidates have to say – and what their actual plan is to remedy the problem. Pretty words and a good personality aren't going to help this country...I can say I'm going to be a billionaire by 50, but it isn't going to happen without a plan – Obama has no plan for any of this – just words and an answer that sways to the popular answer of the day or region of the country. Those who claim to be so progressive – why don't you vote with common sense, instead of jumping on the bandwagon for a guy who is so personable, but soooo not ready to run this country. Have a nice day – and Lord, please bring this country another Ronald Reagan.

The Iraqi Prime Minister recently announced that he wants us out. Last year McCain said if the Iraqi government told us to leave, then we would have to leave. Now he wants to stay indefinitely..... or until "Victory" ?

Sen. McCain, please tell me what exactly is victory ? And how can we stay in a country when the government wants us out ? We are now no more than occupiers.

Is there nothing McCain has done or wants to do that he can talk about positively. I don't see a reason for any of the candidates to go to Iraq. They travel there for photo-ops, and rarely get to learn about conditions on the ground since they are surrounded by a ton of security, and they mostly travel in helicopters where you get a nice view of rooftops.

McBush acts and talks as though 'HE' engineered the surge. He in fact had nothing to do with it. The surge was definitly successfull. But the surge is now over. Our Military is far to overstretched to continue the surge and we are back to pre surge levels. The very capable architect of the surge, Gen. Petraeus. Has testified to Congress, that there is no military solution to the Iraq problem. Exactly what Obama has said. McBush wants to occupy Iraq forever. Obama wants to leave Iraq in a responsible manner and let the Iraqi's run their own country. The Iraqi's want the same thing.
