He needs to retire.

McCain. Just one word. You can't stand that a young, educated, charismatic Barack just get it a new century and you are jealous of him. Nobody accompanied you on your trips. With Barack ALL world follows. Your attacks will NOT work this time. Barack is the US and WORLD choice. Get a rest.

My mom always told me to be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. McCain demanded that Obama go to Iraq and now he is going. McCain is horror struck that the media is going to cover Obama's trip which means no one will be listening to his Bush policies.

Yes I do believe Obama Hussein is the king of the flips.

McCain is aware of the situation and will handle it just fine.

McCain will preserve our values while obama and a few of his supporters will trash our values. We cannot let that happen.

Get one the Straight Talk Express and contribute to his victory in November. Please

He's the perfect icon for the dismal state of the Republican party in 2008.

Good riddance to old rubbish.

I have to agree with McCain. We all thought Kerry would be the flip flopper of all time, but then we didn't know about obama. He is the King of the Flippers.

He may surround himself with flags now but he spurned them a few short weeks ago. what a flipper

He may sound like a preacher now, but a couple of weeks ago he spurned his own preacher. what a flipper

He said he loved his grannie, then he pitched her under the bus. He pimped his own children for political purposes then he said he shouldn't have done that What a flipper

He said he would unilaterally go into Pakistan. I am scared of this girlie man. What a flipper

McCain says we have succeeded in Iraq. LOL. Yes we have succeeded in Iraq's Prime Minister Maliki telling us to get out. In other words, the U.S. got rid of their dictator who controlled the oil, and now our services are no longer needed. A blind man could see this coming, but then again a blind man is only blind and not an idiot like McCain/Bush.

What is Senator Obama to do? First, Senator McCain had been counting the number of days since Senator Obama's last trip to Iraq. Now he's bellyaching because he made speech about it and is making a trip there.

McCain could really be about something if he would bother to show up to vote on anything. He is the most absent senator. For McCain to talk of anyone flip-flopping. This guy is the king. McCain has flip-flopped on everything but his name. The McCain pre 2000 would have little to nothing to do with the McCain of 2008. McCain The King Of The Flip-flop!

The surge name is another McSame lie. Lets call it by what it is, Escalation!

If it was a surge, when we bring the "surge" troops home, we would have the same number of troops, or maybe less than before the surge started. Escalation is an increase of troops. So, after the "surge" troops are all home, we have 18,000 more troops than we had before the surge. Surge, Really?

Escalation! Yet another McSame lie and still the press is silent about the Mcsame lies. When will the press start doing their job, or don't they want to. Is McSame some kind of a sacred cow?

I will vote for a true American Hero. John McCain who sacrificed five years of his life for all of us, to be able to say the things you've all posted here. I want a candidate who has experience, vision and a deep love for this great nation and people, a man I am truly proud to call a fellow American. I am humbled, that he would grace us, to run for president. I'm sorry some of don't appreciate the honor it would be, to call him Mr. President.
Thank you,

I, along with countless others I'm sure, am sick and tired of McSame claiming a flip flop on Iraq when there is none! Obama has always stated that he would take conditions on the ground into account. This is found on numerous video tapes, speeches and even in the debates.

Why does the press not call him on his continued lies? Can someone answer that, is the press that much in bed with McSame? What gives?

Obama, hasn't a clue on what to do for US national defense, because he doesn't understand the interdependancy between power and the american way of life. The use of power to defend and promote democracy has (and is) one of the basic factors that has made the US the baston of freedom, capitalism and the envy of the rest of the human race.

Go ahead Obama .. try to fake it. There are many who will buy what you are selling, but they haven't a clue either

To say that either candidate has a viable strategy or even a handle on the situation in Iraq is purely asinine. Neither will know what to do until they are in office. Think about it people. Do you think that either has the full 'story'? I think not. Not until they have Executive power and those resources available to them with they truly be able to formulate a plan. Anything planned before that is simply politics designed to pander to their target demographic.

Unbelievable how many liberals are posting. Clearly, so many of you hate Bush soooo much that you don't even listen or see how bad Obama will be for this country. He doesn't have the experience or the right plan for this country. You may not like McCain, but he'll make the tough decisions that will help this country recover(and that's where the problem is - anything tough, people shy away). Obama is a dynamic speaker and quite likeable, but all his BS doesn't add up.
Now's not the time to blame Bush or the GOP(what's done is done).
Actually listen to what the candidates have to say - and what their actual plan is to remedy the problem. Pretty words and a good personality aren't going to help this country...I can say I'm going to be a billionaire by 50, but it isn't going to happen without a plan - Obama has no plan for any of this - just words and an answer that sways to the popular answer of the day or region of the country. Those who claim to be so progressive - why don't you vote with common sense, instead of jumping on the bandwagon for a guy who is so personable, but soooo not ready to run this country. Have a nice day - and Lord, please bring this country another Ronald Reagan.

Truth Be Told July 17th, 2008 5:22 pm ET

I understand that Obama's website indicates that he was always in favor of the surge in Iraq. Next thing you know he will be a war hero.
****************

You "understand" that about Obama's website, but it would never occur to you to actually check. Sad, but not unexpected.

Obama is leaving the U.S. for a trip abroad as most politicians do when they find themselves in trouble at home.

Obama's recent screw-ups (lackluster speeches, flip-flop on Iraq withdrawal, etc.) have shown his followers are sliding off and he needs to drag up yet ANOTHER dog-and-pony show to re-hypnotize the faithful into believing he is their Savior....

Don't worry BHO - if you build the lie, they will believe it ! If they followed you after the Wright fiasco - they'll stay with you after this stuff. They ARE that stupid.

Wow! I think McCain is a chump, but i have never read so many kiss up statements about Obama. I like Obama, but people, get a grip. The man does have faults. I still westle with how the man allowed his children to attend a church where the pastor preached such vile things. I asked my best friend about this who is an extreme Obama kiss up and all he said was "that's not Obama". Well I have a problem with all that. Can someone explain to me why I should not?

Unbelievable, Mccain gets bashed everyday by the liberal media but when one CNN article mentions that obama failed to defend himself against "flip flopping" obamites can't take it. This is a completely fair article and Obama has switched positions and come closer to the center like all democratic candidates after primaries. There is nothing new under the sun.

Lord, John McCain, please stop hating on Barack. McCain is jealous because Obama is an intelligent man, and what he said prior has became reality. Bush and company are now sending an envoy to speak with the Iranians and has Gates trying to figure out what brigades they can send to Afghaniston. There is no exit strategy to get out of Iraq. That's why McCain said we need to be there for 100 yrs. Now, he agrees we need to send troops to Afghaniston! Obama mentioned this months ago. But McCain has all of the military knowledge. He is mixed up like Mr. MaGoo the cartoon character.

Flip flopper is John McCain. He's old he can't remember what he has said earlier.

The Iraqi Prime Minister recently announced that he wants us out. Last year McCain said if the Iraqi government told us to leave, then we would have to leave. Now he wants to stay indefinitely..... or until "Victory" ?

Sen. McCain, please tell me what exactly is victory ? And how can we stay in a country when the government wants us out ? We are now no more than occupiers.

So, Sen McCain, you are telling the Iraqi government that we, not they, will decide when we leave. I expect the government troops to turn against us soon. Then you can point to the all out war against us as the new reason to stay. Perpetual war.

Sen. McCain needed to have Senator Leiberman explain to him the difference between the Sunni's, the Shiite's and the threat posed by Iran.........I think Sen. Obama has a firm grasp of the situation without the help of Senator Leiberman and knows Saddam Hussein did not attack us on 9/11.

McCain will say absolutely anything, won't he? He doesn't seem to be bothered with anything like consistency. The other ticker item says that McCain said today 'we are succeeding in Iraq'. And here we have him criticizing Obama about his trip to Iraq, and Obama's plans to withdraw troops. So which is it? Have any reporters asked him to clarify that 'succeeding in Iraq' statement? What exactly is McCain's message here and what is his position on Iraq?

McCain never ever says anything positive he is going to do. Everytime you hear him in media sound bites he is 'knocking' something about Senator Obama. Is that the only way this guy can get any attention?
Is there nothing McCain has done or wants to do that he can talk about positively. McCain has been in the Senate for 25+ years and what has he actually accomplished besides the ethics reform he now is against, as well as all the other policies he has flipped on for this election? People appreciate his military service, but come on, he is using something that happened 40 years ago as a resume.

Oh, John doesn't have to point out Oblahblah's flip-flops and outright lies - there are 73 of them (and it's ONLY JULY!!!!!!!), and they are available on the Internet

Starting with #1: "My parents met on the march to Selma" (but he wasn't even born yet when the March was on)

#2: "JFK brought my daddy to the USA" - LOL!!!!! That's REALLY pushing the Kennedy connection EVEN MORE than Michelle's "Jackie-Wanna-Be" outfits and hairdo do......! Where is the pillbox hat, Michelle? AS IF you could EVER be Jackie! I don't think Jackie would have it in her to write an anti-American thesis and - LOL! - do the "ghetto fist bump" or "dap" or whatever it's called in Ebonics.....

Around #27: "I never heard what Reverend Wright my formerly-beloved former uncle said even though I attended his RACIST anti-American hate-filled church for 20 years and subjected my formerly pimped-out daughters to the hate-filled rantings going on there"

Around #65: "Withdraw! Withdraw! Well, maybe not, since the surge has, um, been, um, successful............well, maybe yes, but, um, maybe we'll have to go back........."

And sure to come in the future (probably around #95 - around August or so.....): "YES, I believe we SHOULD drill for oil............at least, I, um, think, I, um, believe it, um, now (for the present moment - I might CHANGE my position tomorrow - depends how the political, um, winds blow)

But the BIGGEST LIE OF ALL WILL ALWAYS BE TOPS:

"I am not a typical politician"

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And sure to come in the future (probably around #95 – around August or so.....): "YES, I believe we SHOULD drill for oil............at least, I, um, think, I, um, believe it, um, now (for the present moment – I might CHANGE my position tomorrow – depends how the political, um, winds blow)

But the BIGGEST LIE OF ALL WILL ALWAYS BE TOPS:

"I am not a typical politician"

WHAT DO Richard Burr, Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn, John Thune, Johnny Isakson, David Vitter, Mel Martinez, Ken Salazar and BARAK OBAMA have in common?

They all joined the US Senate in 2005 for the first time. They are first-term Junior Senators.

Would you trust any of these people with the title "commander-in-chief" ?

I don't think so.

What a surprise of McCain.
The man can't remember what he said five minutes ago, doesn't know the difference between the shias, sunnis, he needed Lieberman to tell him twice, standing next to him that he has it backwards.
He knows absolutely nothing about economics, yet he thinks he can balance the budget. Talking about flip flopping, watch some youtube videos on how he changes his position 180 degrees in the less than ten minutes...in the same interview no less. If you think this is bull, well, let me tell you that there is no better proof than a video, and all I have said can be viewed on youtube. This moron has early onset of dementia, he has all the symptoms.

I don't see a reason for any of the candidates to go to Iraq. They travel there for photo-ops, and rarely get to learn about conditions on the ground since they are surrounded by a ton of security, and they mostly travel in helicopters where you get a nice view of rooftops.

McBush acts and talks as though 'HE' engineered the surge. He in fact had nothing to do with it. The surge was definitly successfull. But the surge is now over. Our Military is far to overstretched to continue the surge and we are back to pre surge levels. The very capable architect of the surge, Gen. Petraeus. Has testified to Congress, that there is no military solution to the Iraq problem. Exactly what Obama has said. McBush wants to occupy Iraq forever. Obama wants to leave Iraq in a responsible manner and let the Iraqi's run their own country. The Iraqi's want the same thing.

I cant vote for anybody who is willing to negotiate with TERRORISTS . . think people, these people have no will to live . . . it doesn't work . .we will be over-run with al-Qaeda cells right here in the US.

Then the Rev Al and JJ connection is not a feather in anyones cap.

Do you really want higher taxes on top of everything else.

Obama can change positions on a dime, it just depends on who he is talking to, and which way the political wind is blowing. He is as far from change as it gets. He's a master at the same old political game that we've always been subjected to. His actions and his words just never match up, his policies change daily. Fast Eddy is the perfect name, David Brooks was correct.

OK Obamites, is the 2004 video faked? I suppose Carl Rove did it. Face it, you're guy has more positions on the same issue than anyone can track. FISA, NAFTA, Iraq, the Mexican fence, public financing, the surge. Why do you think Mullen says we can start transferring troops to Afghanistan/ Because the surge Obama said wouldn't work did. He is a complete and total fool, as are his brainwashed sheep.

First he attacks Obama for not having first hand knowledge on the ground in Iraq, then he attacks Obama for going to get first hand knowledge. John, you had your time in the sun and I think it fried your brain. At one time I was a REpublican, at one time I supported you, at one time I said I could never support Obama. Well, those days are past, I did not flip flop I simply opened my eyes.

Peter - what Mike is saying is that Bush is becoming like Obama and not supporting his own party's candidate, probably Obama's policies make more sense. McCain is still followiing Bush's policies even after Bush seems to be waking up to the fact that there's a better way to conduct business.

I just heard today on Lou Dobb that McSame made a trip to Canada, Europe and Columbia. What was it about? Campaining in Columbia?

Let me laugh. I heard all about the French woman who was released but nothing about the McCain trip. What a flop.

Blogs and TV have been bombarded for a week about people already ligning up in Europe to gain access to Obama events.

I see welcome Obama every where in cities. What a change from the the "Bush Go home, Bush killer, and Bush War criminal" banners each time Bush goes to Europe and other parts of the worl.

This is a welcome change in our image abroad.

Obama bows to his masters on the far left-wing. He has no intestinal fortitude, no core principles and no moral center.

Obama was wrong about the surge and is still wrong on Iraq. He has put himself in a locked box. :)

McCain was right about the surge and is still right! :)

The hard core left-wing Democrats, another name for progressives, would send America down the tubes in a heart beat!
