There are plenty American Muslims that speak out on radical islam, unfortunately the press never seems to cover it. It's always the crazies that seem to get the attention of the media. They always go straight to the crazy groups with m-16's yelling "God is Great" and never show the sensible Muslims in the background shaking their heads in disgust. Trust me there are US Military Muslims like myself who've served in Iraq, and abroad who have been more than outreaching to the community to get the message across that like Timothy Mcveah, the ku klux klan, Abortion Clinic bombers, and George W. Bush who are supposedly was outspoken christians – there are nuts and zealots in every religious lot. Islam does not have a monopoly on that.

Muslims definitely have come out against Islamic extremism. If the 9/11 attacks didn't occur, they would be living more peaceful lives. The September 11th attacks and other acts of terror have hurt them. Anti Muslim hate crimes grew 1700% in 2001 after the terror attacks. I'm positive that the vast majority of Muslims in the US hate what the terrorists did and continue to do.

I'm a 27 year veteran of the AIr Force and still serving and I do not care for McCain whatsoever. Obama has proven that he cares about the people in the military and not just the machine. I would not personally disparage Bud Day as it is inappropriate to smear a veterans service even though he chose that route. I know a great deal of folks in the military that are supporting Obama, in fact it has already been shown that he is getting a larger share of donations from your serviceman than McCain. Unfortunately while the republicans always scream about supporting veterans it is tradionally democrats that support legislation for the rank and file. Not exclusively but I could cite numerous efforts in the past year that McCain and Bush have been against.

I spent 22 years in the US military and 6-plus years in Saudi Arabia, a feat not many people can match. I am not an Arab nor a Muslim, but I do know about many of the problems the West faces when dealing with Arabs and Muslims. I seem to know more than just about anyone running the federal government about the Middle East – I definately know more than John McCain and any of his headless henchmen. We all need to pay attention to what the candidates do and say about themselves, rather than what they say about the competition.

McCain has adopted the same campaign strategy as Dubba – which is scare them to death – and since Obama has a strike against him to begin with, it should be easy to scare many "patriotic" Americans.

Comments like this exemplify the ignorance of Americans. The Muslim religion does not support violence. However, as with all religions, including Christianity, there is a small percentage that are radical extremists. I think the events of 9/11 erased the memory of the Oklahoma City Bombing, which claimed the lives of 168 adults and children, from the minds of many Americans. That was a domestic terrorist attack by a radical Christian terrorist. Nor should we forget Waco, Texas. It is important not to target an entire religion because of a handful of individuals who twist religious conviction to suit their own purpose. Likewise, we must remember that America has it own home grown terrorists.

Well, we could go on all day, but you get the picture. And Americans are confused by why the US economy is collapsing and we get no respect in the rest of the world? It seems pretty obvious to me. And McSame will be, well, pretty much the same (if not worse).
