The reason McCain doesn't issue his policy statements until he gets back from a trip is because he needs help and time to make them up.

Yes McCain it is interesting that he articulated his thoughts and plans before going to Iraq. It is also interesting that your mentor, George Bush, has pretty well stepped in line with Obama's thoughts. Bush is now talking to the Iran about their nuke program (hmmm Obama said talk to them, you said bomb bomb bomb Iran, and kill them with cigaretts and cancer). Obama said Afganistan was the primary source of terrorism and the original war and needed more troops, and now the BUSH administration is in the planning stages of doing just that I wonder, is it Obama who is out of touch, or is it McCain. It seems to me the republican president is doing just about everything Obama has stated he would do, and McCain still sit there saying Obama his ill informed and out of touch. Seems to me the opposit is more true.

Obama was right about setting a withdrawal timetable from Iraq, focusing on Afghanistan, and not being afraid to have tough, diplomatic talks with our enemies. Bush, McCain, and the Republicans call(ed) Obama naieve. Next, what do we hear? The Bush administration talks with North Korea, the Iraqi government wants a timetable for US troops withdrawal, the Bush administration is planning to meet with Iran, etc. McCain and the republicans criticized Obama for not going to the middle east, then, criticize him now that he's going. McCain has absolutely no idea about the economy, healthcare, social security, etc. but will talk war anytime of the day. Let's face it, McCain and Company are desperate and seethingly jealous of Obama because he's shown a tendancy to be right. Of course, instead of focusing on his bumpy campaign and shoring up on his economic propsals, McCain and the republicans will continue to criticize Obama on all fronts (did I mention jealousy?). In contrast, Obama will continue to take the high road and focus on the issues that matter to the majority of people.

Why would McCain supporters keep harping on Experience without putting any thought into what kind of experience the person brings to the table.

McCain's experience on the Iraq war is he voted for it with inside knowledge about why as he openly stated it was for oil.

McCain went to Iraq dressed in a flaq suit surrounded by the military and then lied to everyone when he came home saying you could stroll to the market without any problems or fears. This statement was quickly denounced by Michael Ware who said you wouldn't last a minute if you went outside the green zone.

McCain has never one a war but insists he knows how but fact shows his experience is limited to being shot down and surrendering and becoming a prisoner of war. Not intened to diminish his military record just reiterating his experience in this area.

Continually votes against all women's rights issues and doesn't have a very clean record on how he personally treats the women in his life as well.

Brags about the surge but the facts are they are paying their enemies not to fight against them as well as giving them arms without any concern about what these people will do when they feel they have enough of a stockpile.

Has shown in speeches he has absolutely no idea about modern day geography as doesn't know the difference between the religous sects in the middle east.

Could go on forever but anyone with a modicum of intelligence should be able to get the message.

The news media in the United States is amazing. No matter what television channel you watch, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, CNNI, NBC, ABC, or CBS, it appears there’re all reading from the same script. Bush is grasping for anything to pull up his numbers including forgetting his "holy grail" of negotiating with Iran without any preconditions. McBush better jump on this bandwagon quickly as well. Negotiating without preconditions is now "in".

At the end of a miserable 7 plus years Bush and the Republicans have been absolute failures whether it is the economy, resource management, deficit, foreign trade balance. When you focus too much on large business and pandering to lobyists you can expect that the rest of the country will have big problems. Bush is running around trying to paint a happy face on everything. Sorry, that will not work.

Less face it, Bush sacrificed almost everything by his intense focus on Iraq. After the mistake of getting us into the war his lack of leadership could not get us out. He told the American people they could have it all including lower taxes, more programs, a war, etc. He did not regulate the homebuilding and mortgage industries and that market collapsed.

Now the nation has some deep problems. Old Republican ideas such as drilling for offshore oil will not get us out. As oil man Pickens says, "We can't drill our way out of this one." Free and unregulated trade without any regulation will not get us out. Pandering to the financial institutions will not get us out. Beating the paranoia drums is not working any more. Not being honest about the real causes of the deficit will not get us out of the problem. Cutting taxes have only given us bigger and bigger deficits.

McCain, regardless of his efforts will follow in the same footsteps. They are set in concrete. The big money Republican machine will not let him go any other way. You can also see it in his campaign. Remember Bush bringing in the good old boys. McCain is doing the same thing. Republican empathy is "Quit whining" as espoused by Phil Gramm. This is a "Let them eat cake." approach. Republicans are totally out of touch with reality. It is easier to blame than empathize.

Oh, good the parrots have a new word for the day "socialism". It doesn't appear that many truly know what it means, but it's todays buzz word.

I am really sick and tired of politicians telling me why I shouldn't vote for the other guy. I want to hear politicians tell me why I should vote for them. McCains repeated use of the word "success" when addressing Iraq is very distrubing. Success means that a goal has been achieved. What about the war in Iraq resembles the word "success." If the war in Iraq was/is/has been a "success" we should be able to leave, right? Is Iraq a safe place to visit now or something? Maybe the conditions are better than they once were, but the word for that would be "improvement" not success. Success would mean it's ok to put the guns down and take the helmets off. I see no signs of that.

About Foreign Policy EXPERIENCE. McBush has travelled every conceivable country in the world but that does not make him a foreign policy expert or more knowledgeable than Obama. Foreign Policy does not equal war and if we take the actual meaning of foreign policy, "Gaining favor from allies, successfully negotiating with the bad guys, and expanding US influence", then Obama is far and beyond better for foreign policy. Eight years ago, when GBW was running for president, the GOP and its followers were not concerned that GBW had hardly ever been out of the country, they elected him, twice. Or at least once, legitmately, by then he had dragged us into a war, had made overseas trips which never improved his judgement.

Now they are complaining about Barack Obama's trip, he has been overseas several times prior to this. Traveling, whether as a private citizen or as a potential POTUS, helps give one a better understanding of the world as long as one is open to the differences in cultures.

In todays's world, many millions overseas are hoping Barack will be elected POTUS and want to see this extrordinary man for themselves. But they can only hope, that the voters of the US will make the right choice this time, not like they did in 2004. Many overseas are still trying to understand how that happened. God Speed Barack!

The Republicans will always take the negative view on EVERYTHING that Obama does. That is their campaign message. So that is understood up-front.

However if you notice that Bush as well as McCain are moving toward his way of thinking: Engaging in dialog, thinking about Afghanistan.

Barack Obama is very smart. You cannot believe that he will be caught short as far as information and expertise. He would know (and knows) and understands more about politics, strategy and foreign policy than anyone. Reading in the Times today that he has 300 foreign policy advisors was not hard to believe. And he forms his own thinking based on their facts. HE IS ABLE TO THINK FOR HIMSELF AND GETS IT RIGHT!!!!!

What we will see is cheering Brits, Irishmen, French, and Germans. Security will be really tight in the Middle East. Any conversations with Generals will be private. To steal some press coverage he could announce his VP pick, but McCain will wait until Barack picks his VP. Watch the poll number in about 3 weeks from now!! Who will be interested to listen or read McCaine at the moment the news rush in from Obama`s trip?

When did McCain travel to Russia and China before he issued the statement about kicking Russia out of the G8, and barring China?
Point is, it doesn't matter when he issues policy statements, they are usually wrong, and even crazy.
Even Bush has reached detente with North Korea, set up talks with Iran, and started a shift from Iraq to Afghanistan; all things Obama had agreed with and McCain could never achieve.
Somebody has to find out if the money from the splurge is making it to terrorists in Pakistan. Who knows how the enemy is spending that money?

McCain is desperate and grasping at straws. Obama has made these statements about the need to shift resources and focus to Afganistan...while bringing the Iraq War to an end as quickly as possible.
Whether it's a 16-month or 18 timetable is irrelevant.

Bottomline is that Obama has it right. McCain is wrong. We can't fight a 2 front war, especially when we don't even has enough resources and running out of troops.

Howeve, they have also had to admit recently that they did not invite them to come as Barack has done. The reason these network anchors are going, is because they believe that they are traveling with the next President of the United States. I am an Obama supporter and I don't like the excessive coverage. It takes the focus off of McCain, when they should be following him as closely
as they follow Obama.

First McCain said Obama was irresponsible for saying he would attack Al Queida in Pakistan if their was solid intelligence. Since calling Obama 'irresponsilbe' our miliarty has attacked Al Queida 4 times in Pakistan.

McCain calls Obama naive and reckless for wanting to set a timetable to get out of Iraq. Next thing you know the sovereign Iraq government demands we set a timetable.

McCain calls Obama reckless and an appeaser for saying he will sit down with leaders of countries unfriendly to the U.S. 3 months later the U.S. successfully appeases and negoitiates with N. Korea ('axis of evil') and they begin to dismantle their nuclear plants.

McCain and Bush call Obama an appeaser and irresponsible for saying he wants direct diplomacy with unfriendly countries rather than threats of war. Just yesterday the State Department announces they are sending a top level official to Iran to sit down and have direct talks.

Obama has been saying Afganistan needs more troops and equipment for a year now while McCain barely mentioned it. Obama makes a big speech about it and McCain follows Obama's coattails and states what Obama has been saying all along.

Who has the judgement?

He's too easy to criticize. His candidacy is the biggest joke in American history. He's so underqualified it is absured and his globalist policy and social programs scare me.
