It's easy to spread rumors and create distractions, but it's expensive to inform people and correct misconceptions, and this is why Obama will probably have to outspend McCain by 2 to 1 all the way to election day. And regarding "the new guy" analogy someone made: Sometimes the enthusiastic, eager "new guy" in the office proves to be a person who turns things around and gives the company new energy and success for the long term.
