Sen. Barack Obama has received a lot of media attention during his overseas trip.

(CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama’s overseas trip has created more buzz than Sen. John McCain’s foreign travels because the storyline is more interesting, according to Michael Crowley, senior editor of The New Republic.

“When McCain goes overseas, it's sort of ‘dog bites man.’ There's not really that much of an interesting angle to it,” Crowley said Sunday on CNN’s “Reliable Sources”.

“This is an incredible story, the first African-American nominee going abroad after a long period of anti-Americanism, promising a new start and a new direction for the country. There's so many fascinating angles, whereas McCain is sort of offering somewhat more of a continuation of what we already know.”

Obama left Afghanistan Sunday to travel to the Middle East and Europe. He’s also expected to travel to Jordan, Israel, Germany, France and England.

Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson and Brian Williams will all cover Obama from overseas.

“What that means, of course, is that the ‘CBS Evening News,’ ‘NBC Nightly News’ and ABC's ‘World News’ will be broadcast from Europe and the Middle East this week, throwing an even brighter spotlight on Barack's (Obama’s) excellent adventure,” said Howard Kurtz, host of “Reliable Sources.”

McCain, however, was met by zero anchors on his foreign trips since he became the presumptive Republican nominee, Kurtz pointed out.

Brandy for Obama   July 20th, 2008 8:23 pm ET

McCain was met by zero anchors because he is so uninteresting. There is nothing refreshing about McCain so he generates no attention. He is so boring to listen to...if I were a news anchor, I wouldn't follow him either.

Independant Thinker   July 20th, 2008 8:21 pm ET

There is a story that has all but gone unnoticed.

It is the story of a young soldier that called home to tell her folks that she might be on TV, because ABC was in Iraq and was interviewing soldiers about who they were voting for, for president while Hillary Clinton was still in the running.

ABC interviewed some 60 soldiers.

4 said that they were voting for Obama
2 said that they were voting for Hillary
54 said that they were voting for McCain.

In the official inverview for TV, ABC interviewed 5 soldiers;

3 said that they were voting for Obama
2 said that they were voting for Hillary.

No official interview for TV was given to ANY soldiers voting for McCain.

I feel that it is time that American people rise up and DEMAND that our news media TELL THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH !!!

It is time for the MEDIA to stop being BIASED and twisting the TRUTH.

I feel that the journalists and news media be sued for journalistic MALPRACTICE.

And no, I don't mean the fairness doctrine. That is targeted ONLY at conservative talk radio and NOT at the left wing news media.

Yeah, what's with all the Obama buzz? I'm very sick and tired of it frankly and he's not worthy.

Nobody gets it.. He was the 'chosen' one by the DNC and the leftist nuts. He's hasn't accomplished anything that qualifies him to lead this great nation. Just like Milli Vanilli. They were setup to front the music of the real artist who could sing okay but didn't have the pretty face.

He's a puppet and nothing more.

A couple of things are not mentioned in this article. First, McSame did not invite or want the media with his, he went over there to continue selling the lie, that all is well in Iraqi-land. You know walking around the market buying rugs for pennies that would cost serveral hundred dollars here at home. You know the place that was safe he only needed 100 security guards around him and 5 five black hawk helicopters. Those reporters who are traveling with Obama asked to go and he allowed them to at their own expense, at least they do not have to report only good things about him to travel with him. To get an up close interviewing seat on the straight talking express, the one now traveling on two wheels, those reporter must promise to only praise McSame....

Jim   July 20th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Mr. Barack Obama's has opinions on many subjects, but has been in very few positions in government where his ideas have been put to the test.
This gentleman, whom I regard in high esteem, is an intellectual who does not have the practical experience required to be Commander in chief or CEO of the United States of America.
This person has one qualification, at this particular time in his life, he can talk, and discuss in a charming manner.
Let him continue his Senate role, gain the practical application experience, then in future years, run for the top job in America.
Talking and promising, is all very well, it has it’s place certainly, but the President of the United States has to consider Congress and the Senate, so the golden voice of Senator Barack Obama does not qualify him to move into the White house with disregard for practical experience of which he has not yet attained.
I wish him well in his future endeavors, but advise him to sit out this particular endeavor and await a future date to continue.

Dr. Dave   July 20th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Celebrity is where it's at. Brian, Katie & Charlie, celebrities all, know the deal inside out. David Axelrod, Obama's slick campaign manager, played one against the other for "exclusive" interviews with Presidential Hopeful Obama. They all bought hook line & sinker and the race was on. Now we will be subjected to highly crafted staged events like Cool Obama plays B-Ball in front of cheering troops. Then there'll be International Solidarity Obama at a staged Kennedyesque event in Berlin. And on & on we go until he gets crowned Messiah Obama in front of a berserk crowd at mile high stadium. No doubt to be handed the crown by none other than a brave , ailing Ted Kennedy.

Hard for McCain to upstage that kind of insanity and the media is all to happy to play along.

Dorothy, White Salmon, Wa   July 20th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

From what I could tell, most of his photo ops with the press showed just black troops. Are those the only ones that showed up and wanted to meet him?

Way to go Barack. This is the 21st century we cannot continue to help McCain relive the wars he was in over 50 years ago when so many changes have taken place in the world.Guess if he knew how to use the internet he would realise that the world has gotten smaller and we are now indeed our brother's keeper.

John Mc Cain is just downright boring, has no judegement or he would have been against the Iraq war from the start and that is the bottom line.

Taking credit after the bus is in the ditch as Barack said is immaterial now,

Even the Iprimeminister is with Barack. McCain is just jealous and a war monger.

Barack 08!

Joy   July 20th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Face it! Barack Obama is just a much more interesting personality than John McCain. He is cool, youthful, smart and makes all blacks around the world proud. He can basically ignore John McCain and just be himself. Unfortunately John McCain cannot just ignore Obama, because Obama is just so good at what he does. It is just so sad that Barack Obama is the best presidential candidate that the United States has had in many years, but because of racism there are many whites who can't get over the fact that he is 'black'. They would prefer to have another ignorant person (John McCain) in the White House just because he is white, rather than have an intelligent, gifted and talented black man running the country.

The media should not try to excuse their strong bias in favor of Senator Obama by saying that his overseas trip is newsworthy whereas those by Senator McCain are stale news. The real story should be that the very junior senator from Illinois is pathetically inexperienced in the areas of foreign and military affairs and his election poses a threat to our collective well being.

WAKE UP AMERICA   July 20th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

It looks to me like Affirmative Action might apply to Presidential candidates then. Apparently being 'white' means you won't get the same treatment, and obviously the liberal media does not want McCain to be elected. So they're doing everything they can to elect Obama. WAKE UP AMERICA we can't have this guy lead the nation when he has no idea, just rhetoric. God help us if Obama becomes President.

McCain '08

James Green-Armytage   July 20th, 2008 7:31 pm ET

You know what else might have happened? For awhile, McCain himself was making a big deal of the notion that Obama ought to go to Iraq, and that in itself might have made the trip into more of an issue. That would be kind of funny, if McCain's attempt to belittle Obama contributed to the attention that Obama is now getting at McCain's expense.

The buzz is because Barack Obama is going to be the next POTUS, and the best one that we've had in ages if not ever, given the opportunity, He is honest, intelligent, sincere and the greatest patriot of our lifetime. Who else has ever had so much to risk in effort to serve our country as president? No one, that's who. Flag pin or not, Barack is the epitome of the American Dream, and despite all those who will try to prevent him from being so (left or right) the buzz is going to carry on for the next 8 years.

Olivia   July 20th, 2008 7:23 pm ET

Blatant unfairness!

All this attention by the 3 main entertainment networks by sending their anchors to travel and cover Obama on his trip is absolutely ludicrus. They don't even CARE that this unfair treatment of the candidates is obvious to all.

After Hillary was deliberately shut down I decided out of anger to vote for McCain. As an independent I have always supported the democrats. Because of the fiasco going on now I am more sure than ever not to vote for Obama.

I;m hoping obama will stick his foot in his mouth and that the anchors will try to cover this up and everything will backfire. Show them all up.

The incredible media focus on Obama's overseas trip is nothing more than a reflection of their support for his candidacy. It has been clear from the get-go that the national media will go to any lengths to help their man to the presidency. There is no way McCain can get a fair shake from the likes of CNN, NBC, MSNBC and CBS. Not to mention the "we're in the tank for Obama" New York Times.

Blech, now we have to watch all this garbage crammed down our throats all week. Face it Dems, you have made a serious mistake selecting Obama as your nominee. Charlotte   July 20th, 2008 7:10 pm ET

The main reason is, it is his first trip, and he was goated into it. You would think the convention was over and Obama is the nominee. I see no reason to watch the democratic convention in August. This country is in big trouble with either of these two nominees. I will write Hillary on my ballot, so my conscience will be clear, and I won't have to be sorry for my vote.

Belle2   July 20th, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Unlike McCain's trip, Obama's tour of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries is merely a political gimmick. Obama invited the press and ensured his every move became a photo-op. As usual, he is grand-standing.

Joseph Adewole   July 20th, 2008 6:59 pm ET

The war monger's trips have been to deliver Bush's messages; that he intends to continue in office if elected to The White House but Americans are fed up of war war war everywhere. Americans want their children home from duties they are engaged in.
You have seen with your eyes that Obama is best for the world.

John McCain isn't interesting, visionary, intellectual or intelligent so why would there be a buzz around him. Yawn! McSame as Bush.

Richard   July 20th, 2008 6:51 pm ET

Well McFlipFlops claim of superior experience in foreign policy is dubious anyway. What has he done? I don't think anyone knows. I guess if he argues Obama is a mystery or naive long enough and often enough everyone will forget McFlipFlop has a foreign policy that can best be described as an orgasm of intellectual anarchy. Why would anchors want to be around the profane thoughts of McFlipFlop. Of course they want to be around Obama. He is exciting, interesting, everything the dull and boring McFlipFlop isn't.

jp/michigan   July 20th, 2008 6:51 pm ET

This is discussing! Obama is chairman of a sub-committee on NATO relationship with Afghanistan, never held a meeting. Uses tax payers money for his entourage to Afghanistan and Iraq. How soon will he hold that committee meeting ,once he gets back? Taxpayers deserve something for the pay he gets from us. All this media attention is also discussing, like an black man never went over seas from the HILL.

Ridgeway   July 20th, 2008 6:50 pm ET

A white candidate with the same experience wouldn't get a drop of press coverage. There exists a fascination with this guy that escapes logic and reason. If he wins he can be someone else's President. He won't be mine. He hasn't earned it.

Allen in Hartwell, Ga.   July 20th, 2008 6:49 pm ET

I'd say that the media and the world see McCain as the Republican candidate who will lose the race for president, and they see Obama as the new president just waiting to be elected.

Besides, McCain promises more of the same, while Obama means that some nations have a chance to rekindle past friendly terms with the USA, and other nations have a chance to establish more than a grudging acceptance of the USA.

Rock Johnson   July 20th, 2008 6:48 pm ET

There is no Obama 'buzz'. It's all created by the media to help his election. Why in the hell would all three major network anchors go on a campaign trip otherwise?

I heard that Obama said he's known the difference between Shia and Sunni since he was thirteen years. Well, duh, of course, he learned that in the madrasa.

Ridgeway   July 20th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

I see they got a couple of tokens in the pic. This is turning into a lot more than a political campaign. He's a slick talking, empty suit with zero experience and a love of Islam. Too bad for the regular guys.

Angus McDugan   July 20th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

Because the media is in love over him. They gush and stumble all over themselves to kiss up to him.

Clinton/McCain   July 20th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

Why? Because the MSM is totally in the tank for Obama! That's how he was able to win the party's nomination. I will attempt to prevent the media from picking Obama for president and I will vote for McCain.

Dems 4 McCain   July 20th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

The news bias is incredible.

In Candys own words, it's fascinating because he's the first African American? That's absolutely ridiculous. Like no one has ever promised to restore America's reputation overseas before.

Just because he's African American doesn't make everything he does a big thing.

GREAT QUESTION! He is the first black presidential candidate, so anything he does is a first. And, given his inexperience in just about everything, everything he does is already a first for him.

You, the so-called mainstream media, CREATE this buzz and then you inflate it even more by asking a question you already know the answer to.

What a joke.

I was in Washington DC a couple weeks ago and I went into a corner convenience store to buy a bottled drink. There were many T-Shirts for sale at the front counter. I couldn't find my size in one with Obama on it and so I asked the clerk if there were any more. He confided to me that the Obama T's had sold really quickly but that he hadn't sold any of the McCain shirts. Granted that was DC, but I was in the area nearer to the Mall and where the tourists go. It wasn't just the indigenous DC citizenry that didn't want the face of McCain on their chests.

I think it is great, that he really is being very much in touch with both the military and the leaders of foreign countries. Peace require courage and fantastic listening skills, and those skills will make Obama a fantastic leader in the history of United States.

Ignorance and very old stubborness from the Republicans, John Mccain and George W. Bush have divided this country and created foreign enemies far too long. We need change, prosperity and peace. Another 4 or 8 years of Republican administration will never give us that.

In the past month I have been to both Canada and all over the Caribbean. All people, black white Latino Asian, that I have met ask about Barack Obama and how wonderful it would be to see a big change in Washington D.C. Just him being in office will make leaders around the world more willing to negotiate with the U.S. There will be no more of George Bush tactics of attempting to dictate to other sovereign nations and literally pissing them off.

Besides the historic nature of Obama's presidential candidacy, it has been reported by other news outlets that the Obama campaign invited the press to join him and the McCain campaign did not take the same initiative. In any event, while Obama seems to be receiving more press coverage, it certainly is not more favorable than that given to McCain. A great example was today's "Reliable Sources" program.

Don Colony14Author, Mt Prospect, IL   July 20th, 2008 6:17 pm ET

Expect little but media suck-up puff pieces on Obama until election day. Heaven forbid they'd actually analyze his naive policies and proposals and explain their (bad) long-term effects. (Not that they'll do that with McCain either, of course. It's easier to repeat sound-bites than analyze economic policies when you never studied basic economics.)

Marilyn, Kansas City   July 20th, 2008 6:16 pm ET

I guess John McCain will finally realize that nobody likes him. It doesn't matter if you are a Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal: no one truly believes that McCain will be a better President than Barack Obama. Members of his own party do not even endorse him wholeheartedly. It is contrived and fake whenever we see members of his party introduce him before one of his speeches. He can't even remember the correct thing to say. If people were thinking of the country and all of its problems, instead of being selfish and acting like babies, McCain would be more than finished in this race.

Bulldog   July 20th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

First McCain said Obama was irresponsible for saying he would attack Al Queida in Pakistan if their was solid intelligence. Since calling Obama 'irresponsilbe' our miliarty has attacked Al Queida 4 times in Pakistan.

McCain calls Obama naive and reckless for wanting to set a timetable to get out of Iraq. Next thing you know the sovereign Iraq government demands we set a timetable and Bush has given in but would rather call it a "time horizon".

McCain calls Obama reckless and an appeaser for saying he will sit down with leaders of countries unfriendly to the U.S. 3 months later the U.S. successfully appeases and negoitiates with N. Korea ('axis of evil') and they begin to dismantle their nuclear plants. Now they are doing the same with Iran.

Obama has been saying Afganistan needs more troops and equipment for a year now while McCain barely mentioned it. Obama makes a big speech about it and McCain follows Obama's coattails and states what Obama has been saying all along.

They can try to "SPIN" it all they want but Obama has been right in National Security and Foreign Affairs after all while John McCain has been wrong and many issues he's supposed to be so experienced on.

Bulldog   July 20th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

McCain has the worst grades from top military veteran groups.

— Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a grade of D for his record of voting against veterans. (By contrast, Obama got a B+.)

– Disabled Veterans of America noted McCain’s dismal 20 percent voting record on veterans’ issues. (Obama had an 80 percent.)

– In a list of “Key Votes,” Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) notes McCain “Voted Against Us” 15 times and “Voted For Us” only 8. (Obama voted for VVA 12 times, and against only once.)

Obarter going overseas is more newsworthy because Obarter is very much more inexperienced in foreign policy.

Maybe some of the media that still kinda supports Hillary is hoping for a major blunder.

Or just maybe the "Big 3" (well, NBC, CBS, ABC raelly not the big 3 anymore) are intent on pressing the Obarter candidacy, short of coming out and actually endorsing the Charlatan.

What Mr. Kurtz failed to inform the viewing public is that Senator McCain, did not invite the media to go along with him. This is a very good change for the world to meet the next President of the United States. That is if the American public will listen and vote for the best person to lead this great nation, and not rely on previous thoughts on race.

Pam, WI   July 20th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

The BUZZ is also because he is just more interesting than McCain. McCain is the typical old white man running for President. We have in Obama a different politician but also for the first time some diversity at the top. This will be a good thing for our country!

carol scott   July 20th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

Me and my husband both spent time in the middle-east (2003-2005) and we have over 40 years of combined military service. I, for one, am glad that Senator Obama went to the middle-east to visit the troops. As you can tell from his reception, he has the hopes and support of many of the men and women in the military. I don't dislike either candidate; however, I have to look at the right and wrong in every situation. Although Senator Obama has never served in the military, he'll ultimately get my, along with my Independent Republican leaning husband. Seeing first hand the senseless death of our troops with no real mission has taken a toll on my ability to support Senator McCain. I am an American, and I believe that one (yes, one) American is more precious that the entire population in Iraq. You can't continue to ask our military to patrol and make friends with people who want to kill us. I don't know why this is so complicated to understand. Senator Obama will be the next president and will probably be a pretty good one. It doesn't take a military person to be Commander-in-Chief, just an American who understands humanity.

Xavier   July 20th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

"the first African-American nominee going abroad after a long period of anti-Americanism, promising a new start and a new direction for the country."

Yeah there is no media bias. Senator Obama is being treated like a rock star. Well I dont want a rock star for a president. I want someone who actually cares about our country and has the experience to be Commander and Chief. Obama has the smallest resume for a presidential candidate I have ever seen. You democrats can sure pick em. I am praying that Obama will not win.

Neal   July 20th, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Obama gets better coverage because McCain has had some serious stumbles with the media and altered his relationship with them.
Barak is keeping his distance, but without seeming to.
McCain is simply put, not particularly deft.
Which, in a grampa is a good thing, but in a President and politician, not a good thing.

The Bu   July 20th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

These guys mocked this guy because it's been two years since he's been to Iraq and now they're mocking him because he's over there. These Republicans have absolutely NOTHING that sticks to this guy, so they're just trying to keep their names in the media spotlight why he gets major love overseas. Interesting, though, how the Bush Administration is now saying that we need to engage Iran (an Obama position) and Iraq is saying that they want a scheduled timeline (another Obama position). Interesting, huh?

D   July 20th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

Ridiculous. How much proof do people need to see how biased journalists are being with their reporting of The Anointed One? Journalists that are buying into this nonsense should be ashamed. Where is the integrity? Reporting FAIRLY so that Americans can read the news, and make decisions based on FACTS? It is sad to see so many people drawn in with hype rather than fact. Not only does it speak volumes about education today, but it speaks volumes about present-day MORALS and VALUES. Sigh.

Marc PDX   July 20th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Just to play devil's advocate, maybe it would be good if Obama was elected president. It's clear that America (and the world) is all aflush over the idea of a black American president. Doesn't matter if he's experienced enough, if his ideas are any good or even who he really is (does anyone really know?). It only matters that he is black and viable. Since we are overdue (that much I agree with) maybe we should just get it over with, let him do whatever he's going to do and then move on past it. We can check "black president" off the list and not have to worry about whether America is capable of voting a black person in again. In other words get this problem off our backs. If he gets elected (and, no, I don't think he knows what he's doing) at least there is that one silver lining we can all welcome.

J. Richter   July 20th, 2008 5:30 pm ET

It's not about the volume of coverage but its content.

- Obama was being covered by a volume of reporters who misrepresented his statement stating he will refine the details of his Iraq withdrawal based on advice from generals (since CIFS set strategy and generals determine tactics). Recent events have proven them wrong on a flip-flop

- Meanwhile McCain confused the enemy while in Iraq and essentially got away with it.

The media is driven by WHAT NEWS SELLS or what ratings and clicks have shown the public respond to, being a business, more important is the CONTENT of the coverage not its VOLUME. Kurtz should start his own company before lecturing the MSM. He knows better, he's one of them.

Shame on Howard Kurtz for slipping in the comment:

"McCain does know a lot about economics" while commenting on MCCain's ill-advised admission on not being too versed on economics. My question to Kurtz is:

- What test did he administer to McCain or what McCain qualifications makes Howard a better authority on McCain than himself?

- Does being followed around by Gramm or reading and presenting economic plans fashioned by educated advisers make Kurtz able to declare either of them knowledgeable?

Please CNN dont block this out, better still send the question to Kurtz. When he wants to insert his opinion, he would server better to introduce a disclaimer stating he is wearing the hat of a surrogate for those few seconds.

I want to know why the media is shoving Obama down our throats? This is the most bias reporting I have ever seen. It was pretty bias between Hillary and Obama and now it is like he is the only candidate running for office. What is the fascination? Aren't Obama and McCain both worthy candidates? Does the media have to sell Obama? Why is the media focusing on Obama and almost leaving out John McCain? I feel this is reporting at its worst. Please be fair in reporting the candidates. Show the quality and experience of both candidates. Do your job report the news fairly.

Obama runs the risk of over-exposure and peaking too soon. He is showing signs that some people interpret as a messianic complex which gives him the opinion that he knows everything, when it is clear that he is ignorant of history and almost completely unaware of foreign relations issues. This may turn off many in his base, but, undoubtedly they will vote for him.

It is more troubling to many, especially independents that the radical far-left has in effect bought the Democratic Party, funded in large part by George Soros (who, it is thought reaped over 3.5 billion dollars in speculating in the sub-prime market in 2007). And it is clear that the radical far-left is providing support for a gigantic effort to buy the Presidency. And, they also funded the venomous DailyKos, MoveOn, code Pink, and other far left radicals.

In the meantime, it seems that Obama is a willing marionette dancing with the strings being pulled by his puppet masters, who, increasingly are making everyone ask "what does Obama really believe.” Is he going to push the far-left agenda and disarm the US and make us poor because of the stupendous costs of his programs which seem anti-American to many and will require each American family to pay many thousands of dollars more in taxes every year. So, far, it seems so.

Why will independents buy this radical agenda? It is clear that if Obama is elected, the far left will take over and attempt to end America as we know it.

The American People aren't looking for sound leadership anymore.
They want Big Brother with lots of Bling, rebates, reparations, "hope",
"change", hypnotic speeches and a Powerful Nanny State that will
suckle them at it's generous teat and protect them from all harm
and inconvenience. Hitler spoke a lot about "hope and change" in his
early rise to power over the Wiemar Republic of Germany. You may
remember that the National Socialists ( Nazis ) were the living
embodiment of Modern Progressivism and much admired all over
Europe and even here in the States among the media, bureaucracy,
and academic elite. Yes, as the great historian Toynbee sadly concluded, history makes it clear that change is almost never good and those who don't learn that, are doomed to make the same
mistakes. You are about to enslave yourself to the First American
Socialist Imperator. But hey, he's a nice guy. Enjoy!

The "buzz" is a reflection of the one-sided coverage of Obama. He takes a trip-so what?! That doesn't make him an America President, it makes him a traveler.

It will take a lot more than blabbering on about himself in books and pretty speeches and how the government "knows best for you" to get this guy elected. Try again in 2012, my friend, you might have shot then.

Mimi   July 20th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

As candidates, both McCain and Obama deserve equal coverage. However, the Democratic race is historic. "Old White guys" and WASP s (White Anglo Saxon Protestants) have been our Presidents since George Washington, except for JFK, who was young and Catholic. Barack Obama has made American history, win or lose.
John McCain, though newsworthy, is not the historic event that the Barack Obama campaign is. His campaign has engaged more young people than any campaign since JFK. Thank you.

Christopher McElree   July 20th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

What's to cover? More meaningless circular rhetoric? The big story is why it took BH Obama all these years to finally visit, and how politically expedient it is that it's occurring only on the virtual eve of the election. Wow, how different. What an incredible breath of fresh air...a politician running for office seeking an extended photo-op. How can our society achieve color-blindness when color is kept at the front of issues?

Another American Idol appearance for rock star Obama. Nothing new there.

All of that media hype and public attention, however, doesn't qualify him to be president. If that was the case, we could have elected someone like Elvis Presley to be in the White House a long time ago.

Or maybe he couldn't get anyone else to attend his rally. Maybe he can't find others there who want to waste there time playing to the cameras. Maybe others Just don't believe what he says, or at least what he is changing to today.
Maybe the rest of the troops would like to here exactly what change this person is preposing. There has got to be more to the message, saying the word change, yelling the word change, doesn't make change.
Change could be good. Change could be bad. Oboma will not say what changes may come. Because I bevieve he really doesn't know.

Obama is the new generation leader with smart ideas that the Bushes and McCain are now fellowing.

Americans shouldn't look at Obama history making, because his black. Without doubt he deserve the position he is right now, and don't forget his born to RULE. Obama has attracted the world with his charisma, that alone is an advantage over his opponent John McCain and with this powerful charisma, it would help him polish the respect and values of the American people home and overseas, and to rebuild the damages the Bushes and Republicans have brought upon the Americans.

Old and young folks at home who never travelled out wouldn't understand how the world view American, for these past 7 years of the Republicans. McCain should have distance himself from Bush, and for MaCain to follow the foot steps of Bush, Americans that is absorb inshort its disastrous.

A NEW DIRECTION FOR THIS COUNTRY? I WONDER?
IS IT THE FOLLOWING?
1. G.. Da.. America?
2. American Government is giving black folks aids?
3. How much money can we make ofF of shady land real estate deals?
4. Everyone in America should support at least one Terrorist like I Idid?
5. Every Church should have Priest??? Phlegher come and give the congregation a sermon.?
6. Every American should try Cocaine at least once?
7. Every American's wife should hate whites as much as I and my wife Michelle does?
8. If I have my way there will be no military in America?
9. All the prisoners on death row will be given full pardons to commit their acts of rape and murder of white people again especially the young white girls and grandmothers over 80?
10. I will continually to lie and lie and lie until I won't know what I lied about before?

IF THE ABOVE IS WHAT EVERYONE IS SHOOTING FOR. THEN YOU GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR.

Dennis   July 20th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

I just hope that all of the hype about Obama isn't just that. He talks a lot about change, but if he gets elected, I hope that that it won't just be a lot of wind. If he's serious about changing the way politics get done in office, then I'm all for giving him a crack at it. After the last four years of lies and half truths, I don't think that the Republican party, under ANYONE, deserves the chance.

LettuceB1   July 20th, 2008 4:34 pm ET

Do we really need to ask this question?

Apparently, it's because Obama is definitely a lot more interesting then McCain. Obama doesn't need someone whispering in his ear the difference between Shiite and Sunni or help with how to answer foreign policy issues. McCain even "fell asleep" during his own interview on Conan O'Brien. Even he knows what the world thinks of him.

Obama deserves the excitement around policies that will fix the damages done by the Republicans. The excitement begins with ending the Republican's bottomless pit spending of trillions in search of non-existent weapons in Iraq. The excitement continues with finishing where the Republicans failed in Afghanistan–the actual root of 9/11 Terrorism. The buzz peaks with the likely prospects that Obama will end the Republican Economy. Instead of trillions of dollars to Iraq and trillions owed abroad, Obama will invest in America and its infrastructure. Obama especially creates a buzz with Americans weary of deregulation in banking creating a mortgage crisis. Obama creates a buzz with college students and their families who are not filthy rich. Obama creates a buzz with unions, non-unions, and companies that want to restore–made in America; not 60,000 jobs lost per month. Obama creates a buzz with those interested in energy alternatives and to lower energy cost and dependence on foreign oil. What does McCain offer–nodding off as a joke on a late night show.

George   July 20th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

Not surprisingly Senator Obama is covered by, not one but three anchors, compared to zilch for Senator McCain. He is the man of the moment, he is the news, and the warm reception he receives in the various countries speaks to the international thirst for the changes he represents.

International people like myself, are desperate to see the U.S.A. return to a position of positive world leadership. Senator McCain represents the status quo which has been rejected all over the world.

Truth about McCain and Obama

Senator Obama's candidacy is fascinating: people in America and around the world see in Obama’s candidacy hope, great vision for a new beginning and a new direction, vitality, endless possibilities, openness, enthusiasm, a “yes we can.”
Senator McCain’s candidacy appears to be the exact opposite of Senator Obama’s. Listening to senator McCain is dole. Senator McCain lacks vision, direction, uplifting message, something to look up to and for; Senator McCain’s apparent confidence looks like a mask that covers up his ignorance of important and real issues both domestic and international. If people are not excited about senator McCain candidacy, why should the media follow him or try to create excitement where there is none?

Ahh yes, Barak's Excellent adventure!

This whole trip and his nomination process is a cross between Americal Idol and the WWF.

Steve   July 20th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

When McCain was last in the Middle East he was confusing Shia and Sunni's in front of the press. He needed Joe Lieberman to help him sort things out. When giving foreign policy speeches McCain seems to forget that there are two countries – the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He claims "he knows how to win wars".
Maybe the buzz is that we could be seeing a future president that will rebuild our nations image and good will.
What a refreshing change from the "axis of evil" and "bomb,bomb,bomb... bomb, bomb Iran" mentality.

There certainly has to be a buzz about this. The world as well as America itself is YEARNING to break away from the suffocating effects of the extremist ideology of Bush Co. McCain has promised to continue it. The world is showing its rejection of Bushism by embracing Obama. The Iraqi support of Obama, despite the politically correct retraction and the damage control by WH, is the most glaring example of who the world prefers.

People need honesty, maybe his so called "inexperience" as a politician is actually a good quality, because the experienced politicians have done nothing but lie and disappoint us.

I have tried to watch broadcasts of McCain's town hall meetings and I just find him boring, repetitive and his voice whiny. Like Clinton, he uses "I" too much, attacks too much and exaggerates his abilities offering little specifics of his accomplishments in the Senate.

He also supported an illegal invasion in Iraq and just now has put his focus on Afghanistan which he hasn't visited for over two years.

I still would like to know the content of the 540 pages of the 600 that he has not released of his military record. If he is running on this, he needs to give voters a full airing.

As John McCain knows, you can't buy this kind of good press. While Senator Obama is receiving so much positive media attention what will McCain do? McCain will spin on what a bad guy Obama is, which tactic reinforces his juvenile and offensive approach to campaigning (smears and Bud Day stuff is a turn off), lack of pertinence to a cross section of voters and remind us how out of touch he is.

Hey, here's a thought.......How about Obama AND McCain should be thrown out of congress for failing to do the job they were elected to do!! If you look at the Senate voting record for both of these guys you will see the words "Not Voting" next to most of votes. Last time I checked they were being paid by the US tax payer to represent the state that voted them into the Senate.

If we want REAL campaign reform two things need to happen.....First, if you are in an elected position you must resign from that position BEFORE you get the right to run for a different elected position (obviously an incumbent wouldn't have to resign if they were seeking re-election). Second, public financing should be mandatory. No one should be able to "purchase" an elected position which is exactly what Obama is attempting to do.

mike mullin london ontario canada   July 20th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

Why is cnn constantly behind in its reporting. Politico.com has a story that Obama went back to Kuwait and was received by the Emir who held a dinner in his honor. God help the rest of us in this world if the American people dont quickly realize that in Obama the potential exists for greatness and an oportunity for the US. If you strung together Mccains stumbles, stupid jokes and 8 minute rants at a town hall meeting to a question he never did answer you may realize that he is 72 and may beginning to show sighns of early dementia as well as his lack of intellect etc. Come on US give your friends and allies a break and realize how lucky you are to have Obama come along at this time in your history.

Obama is the new kid on the block. McCain is yesterdays news and just about as interesting as a box of rocks! He is too closely tied to King Georges way of thinking and doing business, and the country is just sick and tired of him . Of course, diehard republicans perceive him as the second coming of Bush, so he does have some popularity in certain parts of the country. Why would the big networks want to cover him? I can't think of a single reason. The more he whines about his lack of press coverage, the less he will get.

Susan   July 20th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

Silly question!

By the time he finishes this one trip, the world will see we are not a nation of irrational cowboys on a rampage. With this singular trip, he will begin to heal some of the damage done by the current administration and give the world some hope our country is not dying.

He will be unstoppable when he returns.

Mike in NYC   July 20th, 2008 3:35 pm ET

Talk about a staged photo.

The cheering soldiers pictured are not quite representative of the US military.

Whites, at 65% of the US population, comprise about 60% of the US military as a whole. If one looks at combat troops, as opposed to support units, the white percentage goes up to well over 70%. Same with combat fatalities and injuries.

Some may think my comments to be unnecessary, but photos like the one above are deceptive, and, in my opinion, intentionally so.

The media follows whatever story which, in its judgment, will produce the greatest buzz. It is apparent that to the media, as well as to much of the electorate, Sen. McCain is uninteresting as a candidate. Even Sen. Obama's detractors are more vociferous in their complaints against him than in praise of McCain.

It will be a shame if the American electorate chooses an uninspired (and uninspiring) candidate merely as a response to the bully-boy, mindless bravado of G. Bush.

Barack Obama, is the El Cid of ancient times, the Ghandi of yesteryears and the Nelson Mandela of modern times. He stirs up multitudes, brings hope to the less priviledge, his rhetoric of uniting all people to one common purpose, the wellbeing of all. This is something not heard off in many decades, he does not bring confrontation to the table but dialogue and good faith. He carries an olive branch and a peace emblem the dove in a very troublesom world. He speakc with a straight tongue, not a crooked one. So, he brings "Change the we can believe in". Lets move with 21rst century strategies and tactics. lets move forward, not backwards, new time, new genaration, new politics and new policies.

Perhaps Howard Kurtz 'Un-reliable Sources' should be a bit more honest in its whining. McCain's Middle East trip was during the height of the media obsession over Hillary and Obama's primary fight, and his Canada/Columbia/Mexico 'Free Trade' route was one that excluded the media.

So, instead of calling our Presidential nominee, Barack Obama’s important trip (one the Republican called for and now crying over it) visiting our over-stretched and belligerent soldiers and world allies an 'excellent adventure,” Kurtz should stop taking the typical right wing talking point and have some journalistic integrity.

and yeah I know this comment won't be posted since its NOT the usual dumb bigoted lines on here.

Media looks for better ratings and that's what Senator Obama provides for them. More people rather watch Senator Obama on TV than McCain because they are desperate for change and McCain will just give us more of the same. Well, news anchors aren't stupid. McCain has to be the most boring politician to run in decades (since Nixon) and they know nobody would be a bit interested in watching the news. Obama is a new, exciting force in American politics since JFK. While I'm no psychic, I'm pretty sure he is also going to be the next President.
Isn't it funny how McCain kept giving Obama crap about not going, and now that is has gone, he's giving him grief about going. Dementia is a sad thing for a person to go thru and McCain isn't handling it very well.

A better reception than evil Bush and lying McCain. McCain went to the areas this country has invaded and come back with the wrong ( lying) report. Melinda Charlotte, NC   July 20th, 2008 3:23 pm ET

I can answer the press coverage question in three words:"in the tank." The MSM has been infatuated with Senator Obama since he first threw his hat in the ring. I personally think it is because the press is by and large liberal, and their support of Obama makes them feel better about themselves. They enjoy showcasing their support of an African American candidate by showing the world, "Hey, look at me. Aren't I great? I support a minority for President!"I, for one, do not feel that the color of a candidate's skin should be the deciding factor. Unfortunately, Senator Obama was indeed propelled to his postion because of the color of his shin. He won overwhelmingly with black people due to the pigmentation of his skin. He won with the left-leaning white liberals who wanted to feel better about themselves by voting for a person of color.

Sunshine, Peoria IL   July 20th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

Hmmmm, interesting that so many world leaders are willing to meet with Senator Obama . . . it's almost like they think he's the next President of the United States or something . . .

(I kinda got that feeling too!)

P.S. Maybe Senator McCain should have gone with Senator Obama on this trip – then he could stop whining about not getting enough coverage!

Not getting enough coverage is the best thing that ever happened to him – considering all the nonsensical things he says!

Wonder why we don't hear about him balancing the budget in his first term anymore . . . hmmmmmm . . .

Woman4Obama   July 20th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Wow. These are very, very high-level meetings that are obviously well-planned. I am impressed. I wonder if any portion of these talks will be open to the media? In a way, I hope not because the MSM will find the negative angle (or make one up) and run endless tape about it.

This trip is unprecedented, isn't it? McCain should learn that he should be careful about what he asks for. He dared Obama to take a trip abroad, and look at the world event that it's turned into. I bet McCain is kicking himself now.

TiredOfMcCainsFreeRide   July 20th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Can you please report on the fact that John McCain, just "let it slip" that Barack Obama will likely be in Iraq this weekend? These are details that no one was releasing for obvious security reasons, yet John McCain somehow feels it's ok to release those details which put is opponent at risk.

But I guess the MSM will just treat it as one of those cute "McCain gaffes" and give him yet another free ride.

IN LIVING COLOR   July 20th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

The Obama buzz is blessing in disguise. His success is a milestone for the ongoing struggles of blacks in this country. Martin Luther King sacrificed his life for change but God has sent us a new angel. Barack has become a symbol for the movement. I pray for his victory in NOV.

The USA is supposed to be "the melting pot" of the world! Well, it's time for this nation to live up to that CREED. Obama's possible triumph in NOV will "open the door" for future minority presidents. Race or gender will no longer be an obstacle. We will judge men by the "content of their character" and not by the "COLOR of their skin".

SiamErzuah   July 20th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

What is so wrong with the buzz about Obama. Its pure and simple. He is news. MacCain is not. Newscasters are about newsy events, not old same old stories. Maccain is old. And he has been around for a very long time. Thats it! He is old and known, and for that matter, he is boring. Barack is new, fresh, refreshing, interesting, dynamic, charismatic, energetic and forward looking. And that is great and newsy in a country that has had someone like Georg Bush for a president. Maybe all the soldiers seem so excited because they have compared the voting records of Obama and McCain in Congress.

If they have, then they know that McCain is running for president wrapped in the flag while he betrays veterans in the Senate.

Nunda Naidoo   July 20th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

There is a buzz about Obama all over the world. Not more of the same of the last seven years of Bush. South Africa, Africa and the World awaits his election. America needs to become a world leader again. Nunda – South Africa

William Calhoun   July 20th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

If Almost-President Obama had told the press last week that Senator McCain would be in the war zone, "this weekend...Either Saturday or Sunday", the screeming about this breach of security would be all over the "media".
Why the Obama buzz? Because he looks like, acts like, talks like, behaves like and is interesting like a...let's say... President!
The question is why do you people keep letting McCain say some of the dumbest stuff along with blabbing about the Senator's trip to the press and thus endangering the next president of the United States and there is no buzz, only silence, as if it never happened. Thank God for the Huffington Post. You people are next to worthless. I'm sorry, I forgot. This is still the Clinton National Network!

Big D   July 20th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

The downplaying of the story about Maliki supporting Obama's 16-month drawdown of troops from Iraq is proof that the media does not have a liberal bias. Can you imagine what the press coverage of Maliki's statements would be if he had said something that could be considered in opposition to Obama? We'd hear it endlessly. But because it's favorable to Obama, it's being downplayed or ignored. All we have on CNN is an amusing little sidestory about how it was submitted to the press, nothing about the actual statements. There's tabloid coverage about Obama, and rightwing spin against Obama, but no actual coverage about his positions or this kind of positive story.

bk   July 20th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

I have never seen anything so unfair. The media did it to Clinton and now McCain. Obama has no experience and your all making him look like some kind of King. He is arrogant enough without the help of the media. Maybe the white people should riot over the media's bias.

suzyku   July 20th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

Obama brings hope, not only to this country but to the world who has been disgusted by our leaders (I use the term loosely) and by the stupidity of the American people for voting this President and his cohorts in to office, not once but twice! From what I read, the world thinks (or should I say hopes) that we are finally getting smart!

Anoldwoman4OBAMA   July 20th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Your child is sick, diagnosed with a life threatening disease, nothing the doctors seem to do makes sense, you wonder if there is another way, a more promising way, even though you aren't sure of the outcome. You take a chance...the first way wasn't working..time is short.. Senator Obama is our seond opinion..I like his style, I like his affability, I love his intelligence... We're going to have to take a chance.. Look around you everything really isn't all bad, but the country is seeing a very demoralizing pattern of denial, certainly a lack of leadership, and hope that this will change. Hope can at least give us the staring point for change. Obama's not perfect, but find us one that is and let's vote for him or her . Right now, I say Obama '08

Walter   July 20th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Obama's trip is creating more buzz than McCain's for two reasons:

1. Obama may be able to reverse the slide in America's international standing.

2. Obama matters.

Neither of those things can accurately be said of McCain.

RJ, CA   July 20th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Kennedy all over again (and, oh, how the media loved and doted on him(:

• Kennedy's "Camelot" was all glitter and no substance. JFK “inspired” a generation of Americans and raised them to a pitch of high excitement, but his promises were never followed by performance. With a gap between rhetoric and reality, the Kennedy years produced no significant progress for the American people and caused frustration and bitterness that came back to plague the nation in the late '60s.
• In foreign policy, Kennedy lurched unsteadily from one crisis to another-it was his apparent ineptitude in the handling of the Bay of Pigs invasion that encouraged the Soviets to test his resolution by moving missiles to Cuba.
• Kennedy's handling of Congress was dismal and inept, and none of the major domestic proposals of his much-heralded "New Frontier" were enacted into law.

bill for barack   July 20th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

Maybe it's refreshing to cover someone who really IS Presidential.
After 8 years of Doofus Dubya and John McSame (think Edgar Bergen and Charlie / Joe McCarthy ), it has to be nice to cover someone who really DOES have a clue about what's going on in the world.

Leah   July 20th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

I don’t think you can have this both ways. McCain is fortunate that he’s received somewhat less press coverage than his opponent, because what coverage he has gotten has been notoriously soft. If the anchors had followed him on his rather precipitous trip to Colombia, for example, more might have been made of the rumors (whether true or not) that the White House tipped him off that the Colombians would be staging a raid to rescue Ingrid Betancourt and other hostages that day. It certainly would have dominated the cable news and blogosphere had the shoe been on Obama’s foot.

Fran   July 20th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

Surprise, surprise...The press following Obama around like groupies. When are Americans going to wake up and realize that Obama is not the answer to our problems. Because he has never given us any concrete answers and he probably does not have any. He is great at pointing out what is wrong with this country, but he never seems to be able to explain how is going to fix these problems, as well as how he will finance any of it. Any ideas that he does verbalize have been Xeroxed from Hillary Clinton (watch the primary debates and you will see). Why should this trip make me think that he now will have a better handle on foreign policy. Gee, I've been oversees many times, does that mean that I could be president? I was against the war, that does that mean I could be president? I have no experience running a state or a country, does that mean I could be president? I am flabbergasted at how the press is totally blinded by this man. The press is eating up this mans b.s and not does not even question it. They follow him around like groupies. Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves for not pressing him on the issues. I am still waiting to hear his answer to the “sweetie” reporter’s question about what he is going to do for the auto workers. Oh that’s right, if Obama doesn’t want to give an answer to something, the press just lets it go.

You know why this is people??? Americans and the rest of the world are just plain tired of these goons in the white house. If you ask the rest of the world ull be surprised by the level of dislike to the american people and all these brought about by the bush administration. Its time to mend this tension we have blindly created americans. Vote Obama!!

I understand that McCain did not invite the MSM to join him on his trip. Obama has an excellent media team and should not be criticized that they know how to promote their candidate.

angelina   July 20th, 2008 2:55 pm ET

I'm very excited for Obama and the fact that he represents new direction for America. I truly believe he is the one person that has the opportunity to reestablish America's respect as a leader in the free world. So far, from what I've seen online, he is conducting himself with integrity and character and I feel positive that we are viewing the next President of the United States. That gives me hope and he makes me proud to be an American.

Donald, Canton NC   July 20th, 2008 2:55 pm ET

Enough of the whinning from the McCain campagin concerning the amount of overage allocated to Obama's trip versus his campaign.

All the talking heads and blind supporters of McCain want him to receive more coverage.

Why? Is this so he continue he flip-flopping on various positions, his outlandish comments concerning women and other topics, or his loss of memory when confronted with his voting position (or lack of) and statements from the past.

I say YES, the new media should cover him more and make him and his campaign accountable for their misstatements, lies, and evasion.

Army Officer   July 20th, 2008 2:55 pm ET

Hmmmmmm.. Seems like America as well as the rest of the world is more interested in Barack Obama than John McCain by far. Doesn't look too good for the MCCain team when BArack Obama has all the press focused on him and enthusiasm about him being the next president spanning the globe...

Why all the buzz ??? Because ALL the world knows that Obama is the BEST man for the presidency. They have always looked up to us as the best country in the world. However, in the past few years, it has been kinda hard to look at us as the great country they all knew, They see the hope and the change that Obama will bring to our country. Once again, they will be able to look up to us. GO OBAMA !!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a Californian who now lives in England. I am fairly conservative in most areas, though I think I represent a growing number of voters who pay more attention to individuals than we have in the past. . .no more blind voting along party lines.

Living in a foreign country has been an eye opener. McCain is very much looked upon with trepidation while Obama is utterly supported in my observations. The perception that America has derailed a bit has permeated the media and Obama is definitely touted as the one who will hopefully bring things back on track.

Whether or not this is the case is almost irrelevant. Perception builds momentum and confidence. And Obama has it going for him. . .at least from this side of the pond.

McCain: More of what we already know, less of what we need.

Some of the greatest US Presidents had very little experience, just like Obama, including Wilson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt ( though people love to single out Kennedy in the comparison). McCain's experience just means he is spent on ideas and offers nothing new, and that he has 'fallen in line' with the corruption.

Media for Obama '08

Glen,   July 20th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

I wonder who will be appointed official Obama campaign news network. ABC, CNN or NBC. I wonder if like the queen he will give them special privileges or a seal of approval. They could be vetted like the VP. Perhaps CNN can change to ONN, Obama News Network. Not every day you interview the next king of the US.

Jan   July 20th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Perhaps if Senator McCain had actually asked the press to accompany him on his trip, he would have achieved the media spotlight that his campaign 'appears' to crave. The McCain campaign has carefully tried to control what is reported or covered; keeping the press in the distance at some events or only allowing certain reporters who have been favorable to the campaign in their reporting. Then they have the temerity to complain about not getting equal or adequate coverage. You can't have it both ways. In our world of the 24 hour news cycle, if you ask, the press will come.

Vig   July 20th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Buzz, buzz – this Obama is one big buzz – Sugar and spice and everything nice that's what Mr. Obama is made of He's flip-flopped so many times you could serve him as a pancake for breakfast. No syrup needed – he comes sugar coated, compliments of the media.

Ilona Hussein Proud Canadian   July 20th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

I would have thought that the REASON behind all of the FUSS would be OBVIOUS!

Senator Barack Obama is RESPECTED and LIKED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, with very few exceptions.

PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD ARE HOPING FOR CHANGE, NOT ONLY IN THE US, BUT THROUGHOUT MANY COUNTRIES. When CITIZENS OF OTHER COUNTRIES see that a young BIRACIAL AMERICAN is ENCOURAGING AND REACHING OUT for CHANGE, they ultimately want to EMBRACE THIS CANDIDATE AND EVERYTHING that he STANDS FOR!

WHAT I FIND QUITE CONFUSING IS WHY THIS QUESTION HAS TO BE ASKED? As my least liked news reporter Lou Dobbs would say....
NOT!

DOESN'T EVERYBODY NOT DESERVE A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Senator McCain is by comparison, SAME OLD, SAME OLD! Just show me ONE COUNTRY THAT McCain visited, where he was GREETED with the same ADMIRATION that was awarded Sen. Barack Obama!

folks, have you read this article?......google....A GOP ace in the hole?
You will find it quite interesting.

More White Guilt! Good going CNN.

Black in America show is a disgrace to all other minority groups.

The black community isn't more important than other minority groups, especially during the presidential election. Last time I saw, the latino population was the largest minority. Native Americans, Latinos, Asians, Latvian, etc., all help develop this country to what is today.

Morningstar   July 20th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

John McCain is just too old for the job...

mike obama   July 20th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

This Presidential Election is between Maverick and Chameleon. The liberal media is biased. They want to sell their favorite nominee down american peoples throat. The democratic party imposed on the democrats the inexperienced black man as their nominee even though Hillary won more votes than Barack. Barack started loosing to Hillary once democrats came to know Barack and his true colors. Half the democrats are angry about this episode and once they realize that the media is trying to do the same, come November they will dump their candidate and hopefully dump their network for not being fair and balanced.

CNN, MSNBC and all the other networks are all for Obama. I find it laughable that CNN and other networks do stories on how other networks and the media are being unfair.

Deb, Allentown, PA   July 20th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

After the last 7 1/2 years of the Bush Administration, our country is, for the first time, being viewed so negatively on the world stage. Bush and his cohorts squandered the sympathy and good will that occurred after 9/11 and through their efforts, created a whole new generation of terrorists that view us as the big bad wolf.

There are so many reasons to choose Obama over McCain, but on this one point alone, we have the opportunity to restore our good standing in the rest of the world and become a partner in the fight for peace and prosperity in the world, rather than the aggressor and school bully.

As evidenced by the majority of responses on the CNN blog, and the audiences expected to see BO in Europe, the rest of the world loves him. Are they blind or are 40% of the Americans who won't vote for him the ones who can't see through their fears?

How could anyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence vote to preserve the status quo?

CD   July 20th, 2008 2:27 pm ET
