If you go back to the Jimmy Carter day you can figure out why we have oil shortages, high gas prices, no refineries and no nuclear power. Over the years the democrats have always blocked these actions to enhance our own resources. I think the states that let their coast lines and land used to supply coal ,oil and nuclear ought to have the right to raise their price for out of state customers who refuse to take advantage of these resources if they have them. Let the states like california , colorado , the eastern seaboard and other west coast states pay $8.00 a gallon for gas and a few extra thousand dollars for there home energy. I am 60 years old and I know of one Nuclear accident in Russia during my life time. Now I have seen plenty of flooding and forest fires due to the enviro- nuts wanting to save a field mouse or a snail. Also cnn get off the "Black In America " kick .You act like they have had it so hard compared to the rest of america. Give me a break. Since the 60's they have had every opportunity in the world handed to them on a silver platter. It is time to wrok as many of them have done and make their place in America or do like the blacks that are whining, sit in the Ghetto or hood and draw freebe checks. McCain keeps saying that the price of oil dropped because Bush wants to allow offshore drilling. Some people say that the price is dropping because the Democrats are looking at the speculators. I think that its going to drop back to "almost" acceptable levels because oil countries fear that if the price stays too high, the US, under an Obama administration will look at alternative energies and Obama will spend that 150 billion dollars on alternatives. The oil countries do not want to lose us as a customer.

Supply and demand drives oil prices. In Canada as the states as fuel prices go way up, so does carpooling, transit system use and staying at home. Lower demand means surplus and lower prices. Saying a threat of more oil rigs lowered oil prices is like our politicians saying they have a surplus in the budget because of fiscal responsibility rather than more tax due to high gas prices.

Wow. I had no idea that Lance Armstrong supported John "I'll NEVER surrender" McCain. How disappointing.

I am starting to think McCain might just win, because he has to get something after having all this bad luck on his campaign. Its like he can't win for losing.
