Jindal's got a great future with the GOP, but he's still too green. Give him at least 1 more 4 year term as governor and then he'll be ready for national politics. My money's on Mitt Romney as the VP nominee. I think he'd do a heckuva job, and with any luck he'll be our president in 2012 or 2016.

To CNN moderators: How come you are not posting my comments? I posted much earlier than the others that are published. My comments are negative towards the GOP and I've noticed that your reporting favors the Republicans. Could this be the reason? "Let's be honest: Was McCain (or the Rep Party for that matter) really considering this gentleman of middle eastern heritage a real candidate for VP? The answer is NO. It looked good in the GOPs attempt to be "diverse" and open to change, but their pervading culture is still leaning towards an Islamaphobic party (not to mention an African American negative bias). Consider the fear-inspired attacks on Obama as a closet Muslim or someone who is "too black". Its pathetic that this public servant (Jindal) is being used by his own party as a token member and possible VP choice just so that the party looks good. The chances of Jindal being picked as VP was as close as Obama picking Mitt Romney as his VP."

Oh come on. The real reason is Jindal is a one-term boy wonder and he knows it. He's aligned himself to the extreme right wing of the Christian fundamentalists, not realizing the American population is getting wiser and more enlightened, no longer willing to blindly follow the rabble-rousers and jingoists. Jindal is however SMART - he will not be VP nominee because he can clearly see McOld will not be President, no matter how much he whines. Jindal will not get on board a sinking boat. He will spend 2012-2016 re-tooling himself and try to come back into national politics - I predict as a democrat!

First of, Jindal has not been offered anything. Its typical that one would refuse being the running mate before accepting it.
Second of all, Obama lovers, your candidate is showing incredible weakness. Most polls shows his lead, if any, to a few points. He is also trailing in key states like Ohio.
With all that moolah, he would need some kind of scandal to put McCain away. Good luck with that.

Jindal may have stuff on his resume, but he is surely not very impressive. When he worked at HHS, he was considered a do-nothing and a not-able-to-make-a-decision kind of guy. You know, in the mold of the jerk in the White House now.

Hey Jeff in Illinois... I hate to break it to you but Southern people vote for who appeals to them they don't vote for someone because they are white or black. This just goes to show your ignorance.

Here in the South people think for themselves and do not follow the crowd like in some other states. We are hard working people who love our country who only want the best for this country. Just because we don't want to vote for a man who has been inconsistant on Iran, wants to raise the capital gains tax, is against any form of energy other than wind or solar power, who goes to a RACIST CHURCH IN ILLINOIS, and a man who in less than two years has been named the most LIBERAL senator in the senate does not make us racist.

This in my opioion makes us smart for looking at the candate and not the party. Yeah Bush has made mistakes, a lot of them but he is not the one running for president is he?
