Obama calls latest Palestinian attack 'intolerable'

Obama held a press conference in Israel Tuesday.
Obama held a press conference in Israel Tuesday.

(CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday said the terror in Sderot is “intolerable,” and praised the residents for their courage and resilience.

“I’m here to say that - as an American and as a friend of Israel - that we stand with the people of Sderot and with all the people of Israel,” Obama said.

Sderot is a southern Israeli town that has come under rocket attack from Palestinian militants in Gaza. Obama earlier toured a home that was damaged in one of the attacks.

“Israelis should not have to live endangered in their homes and schools. I’m hopeful that the recent understanding to end the attacks will provide some relief, but America must always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself against those who threaten its people,” he said.

Obama said he was “deeply committed” to helping Israelis achieve a lasting peace with Palestinians who are prepared to accept the state of Israel, renounce terrorism and abide by agreements.

“We must support Palestinian leaders who share this vision,” Obama said, calling attention to President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayad, both of whom he met with earlier.

Obama was joined in Sderot by Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.

Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, also toured the war-torn city when he visited the region in March.

How about the Palestinians who are not prepared to accept the state of Israel, renounce terrorism and abide by agreements? You know, the majority of Palestinians. Can't Obama just wave his magic wand and cause peace to break out? Don't they know he's the second coming and they need to do everything he says?

Obama sides with the palestinians. It was proven when Rev Wright (Baracks old mentor until he realised that people had unveiled what he was all about) stated that his congregation should support the Palestinian cause.

Obama is an arrogant empty suit.

Obama says the Palestinian attack was "intolerable"? Well, that's big of him. I guess that makes him a great leader and expert on foreign policy.

Why report on something he had to say? Did he have any other choice, Im pretty sure you could write the same story and just imput McCain for Obama. But why would you do that? I also love that some outlets are now reporting on the media biases. Could the media today possibly be more in love with themselves.

The American people is understanding and recognizing that Senator Obama is an average politician that makes customized promises of change everywhere he goes in order to get the votes of that community.

His actions proved that he does not care about achieving or meeting his goals as the asbestos project he was involved in in Chicago shows.

Obama is moving to the center now and will sacrifice his positions with the ledt wing of the Democratic Party to appeal to the center and some right wing voters.

Is this the change we want: It is not. We do not want this arrogant person in the white house.

    Please bring back Hillary Clinton

Yeah, Israel sure will be safe with an American president whose foreign policy will be based upon the fine wisdom he has recieved from his mentor Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

I find it shameful that Obama would choose for us to fail in Iraq so that he can win the presidency but it is far more shameful that millions of Americans want us to fail in Iraq so that their ideology of hate and lies can prevail.

Americans are seeing the truth now and the Messiah, his mentor and mind Rev. Wright, and his hate America wife will be trounced in November. Sorry libs, Americans for the most part are honest, fair, loving, and want thier nation to win no matter which party it would benefit.
