"McCain" and "energy" don't belong in the same sentence. It's oxymoronic.

The Dean 'whoop", the Clinton cackle, the Bush smirk, the Cheney sneer, the McCain smirk--ugh! Not presidential, not personality traits we want in our leaders, not the people we want in office, not the faces we want representing us at home and abroad!

I'm shocked and amazed. I guess americans really don't want Obama.

This truly hurts. 8 yrs of Goofy now we get 8 years of Mr. Magoo
I thought this time american would hire the smart guy. And I'm here to tell you its not Sen. McCain.

OK....good luck to Hillary in 2012. The Obama supporters (well at least me) will sit that one out or vote for Jeb Bush. Who cares?

You Republicans need to go to Black Mountain, Arizona. Years ago J. McCain voted in a bill to drill for Uranium on the Navaho Indian Reservation. The Native Americans were relocated and lost their land to the Big Oil Co's. Many Navaho adults and children died from Uranium dust poisoning. J. McCains senatorial campaign was backed financially by big oil backing. Don't be fooled he is still being backed by them. I was born in AZ. and lived near these areas. The destruction from mining in Az. is still there to see. Look at Globe, Jerome, Miami and Black Mountain, AZ. See what distruction was left, for the next generations. Huge caverns, sludge every where. Nothing grows where this drilling took place. Would you want to live there?

The old timers in AZ remember the Keating trials, the arrest of Mrs. McCain and how she stole from her employer to get drugs. Her nervous break down, her liquor involvement and you think she is what you want for the FIRST LADY? WAKE UP AMERICA the next eight years could be the most dangerous years yet, if we do not vote for an intelligent, honest, young person like Senator Obama. People get your heads out of the sand and realize the Republican party is wrong!!! John McCain is wrong!! John will need more than the Dalai Lama to get his facts straight. Oh, and I have been blessed by the Dalai Lama, which is the truth!

I would think the Morman people would find a President who make his living off the income of his wife's BUDWISER LIQUOR business not exactly to the rules of the church. Are they going to vote for J. McCain?

Hey mcsurge, mcdrill off our shores, mciraqforever, there was a huge oil spill in Louisiana that has shut down the mississippi river ( i guess that is why you canceled your speech there huh?) anyway umm, is that Obama's fault too? And are you going to flip flop again on oil drilling now that the mississippi is ruined for years or are you going to continue with your bad judgement and stay the course on oil drilling? You probably won't answer me cause all you do is talk about the surge, bash Obama and Iraq.

I guess McIdiot will do anything to try to keep voters' minds off the illegal , immoral war he started, the collapsing ecomony, the lack of health care and moral leadership in this nation - all by offering nonsense proposals about energy that he knows can never work.
He keeps making up a surge that he says is successful. Maybe he can pretend that he's already solved the energy crisis too.

Brilliant idea with the visit to an oil rig. I hope McCain does plenty of spots standing atop an off shore oil rig. We should tap our natural resources and further explore green technologies. Anything less is not in the best interest of the country. The Democrats have an anchor tied to them with the ban on off shore drilling. It is stupid to not drill. The defense line that Dem's continually use is, "We will not see a drop of oil for seven years" is not fundamentally sound. A rational response is "So?" I plan to be driving a vehicle in 7 years. Do you not? It will take at least that long to develop the non oil technology and implement it to America. Why not do both? In summary PLEASE TAKE MANY PHOTOS ON OFF SHORE OIL RIGS. IT MAKES SENSE MR. McCAIN.

according to OUR department of energy: IN 2007 THE US EXPORTED 1,400,000 BARRELS OF OIL PER DAY!!

why are we EXPORTING any barrels if we're in such a crisis?!?!! oh yeah, so exxon can make a few more billion while their BFF georgie is still in office!

wake up, america, and quit being so lazy and trusting!
Oil prices are going down because the supply is going up. The supply is going up because we're using less gas. I don't think the democrats (or the republicans for that matter) had anything to do with that. If we start driving more and using more gas, the prices will go right back up -- even if we start new drilling today.

McCain (and the rest of us) must get our heads out of the sand and start looking for alternatives.

Looks like McCrybaby is taking this election against Obama too personally. I thought Hillary was bitter, but McCain is a thousand times more resentful than either of the Clintons were. Why is McCain getting so personal with his attacks lately?

I did not see anybody calling Bush arrogant. He was arrogant, dumb and stubborn. Obama is not arrogant. He is very confident, smart, intelligent and exciting!! And the Obama hater's need to drink some haterade real soon!! Once he is President and turn this country around back on track, you all will be looking stupid. But to save your face you will try and find something wrong with him!!

So let me try to understand this. We drill in the US and the oil companies who control the selling of oil, will out of the goodness of their hearts charge us less money. Because we know that if they don't sell the oil to us, they will sell it to the Chinese and get the price they want. But the oil companies in the US will be satisfied to receive less money. What capitalistic society are these repuglicans living in.

Hey McCain, please tell us why you haven't done anything with the 90 plus million acres you already have? Tell us why you haven't done a DARN thing with that for the past 8 years.

Go betray your wife some more and commit treason against the united states while voting against virtually every veteran benefit bill you come across. Those are what you do best.

Leave being patriotic to those of us who don't turn on our wife, troops and country.

Excellent. Put all options on the table. Continue to expose what Obama fails to admit. The surge and lower corporate tax. Bill Clinton made the same argument on tax only to find the that the republicans were right when he first took office . Make that point to the people . Great job of putting everything in a nutshell.

What is Obama doing? Compaining in Germany? How many times did he have to say "wall" to get the crowd to cheer, half heartly at that. The Germans didn't need a history lesson on the Berlin Wall.

Did Obama stop and visit our wounded soldiers in Germany? NO!! Obama is trying to win the election; that's it.. God help us if he actually wins and he actually has to make a decission based on facts and not fantasy..
Go McCain!!!!!!!!!

Why is there all this talk about drilling for more oil, why dont the big wigs in office take the millions of dollors they would to put into offshore drillin and invest this money in new energy. It seems like that would make a lot of sense, think about if we are still using the same amount of oil we use today in ten years, i think we are goin to be in alot of trouble as a species, in ten years i think all that money would make a difference in new energy then livin off of dinosours dont you?

Obama wants to use our oil reserves which would provide immediate relief at the pumps now. McCain wants to drill off shore so his already rich oil buddies can get richer. Problem is that won't produce any results for about 7-10 yrs. Who has the better judgment? Obama of course.

I hope everyone is paying attention. These latest comments by the McCain campaign is an obvious attempt to change the subject from an very popular presidential candidate named Barack Obama traveling on the world stage. Having said that the democrats should be careful that they don't allow the Republicans to change the story line of this historical election. It was the Republicans who got us into this economical and foreign policy mess but they are slowly trying to make it a democrat issue/problem. Again if f you listen closely to these individuals they will tell you their playbook before the play even begins.

As far as drilling goes...we're unable to drill in a lot of areas because it is UNECONOMIC to do so, we're unable to get there because of geologic and also political reasons. We can drill probably 20% of what we have...so yes drilling WON'T solve the problem immediately, but it will help in the future. The nation is way to dependent on oil, and it will stay that way for a long time to come...so get used to it.

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:
            1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
            2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
            3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
            4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
            5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations
                over seas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right!.....
            1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
            2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
            3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
            4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12
                TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
            5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
            6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~11,300--$2.5
                 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM
                 THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT
                 PORTFOLIOS!

YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE AS HELL GOT IT!!!....NOW the DEM'S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE POLLS SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???.....

continuing to believe that BEGINNING THE PROCCESS of drilling will have immediate effect on fuel prices only fuels the belief in the rest of the world that American's are just plain stupid.

What evergy vcrisis are you referring to, by the way? Ameraica still pays some of the lowest fuel prices in the free world.

We are in a war that will benefit really only the oil companies the war has allow them to tap into the middle east oil thru Iraq, so with that deal under there belt now the greedy hords of oil barons. Want us to just let them pillage the few U.S. resources. They would have years of drilling under there belt if they had chose to exercise there lease options years ago why didn't they? Did they know what the big plan was for Iraq. Like John McCain know there was a surge before there was a surge? These people are playing with our lives all for the greed of money. What can John McCain do to his rich oil friends, nothing so working americans will continue to suffer and big business will flourish.. Simple fact..

Big business has no loyality to the working people of this country, they just want our money at all cost. when will big business feel that they owe the american people a break...there moto now seem to be less product for more money, and the people will keep coming back for more....Sounds like a drug dealers mentality

All big oil wants is another land grab...
This is a defining moment for America...we can stick with the policy and tyanny of big oil and the Arabs...OR...we can start the great shift to renewable resources, thus creating new industries and jobs at home and actually provide for a future for the next generation of Americans.

They say going with Obama is a gamble...well...I for one am willing to take that risk.

I keep watching and hearing the bickering of both parties concerning opening up more land for oil drilling but unless I am missing something I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation why the oil companies are not doing anything with the vast land leases they presently have,

John McCain has been in congress for 16 years. He has had time to tackle the energy and envrionmental issues and to do something about predatory lending. He has had time to do something about any issue you'd care to bring up.

If we are in a mess, John McCain is one of the people who helped make it.

Let's keep the focus on energy, and the total failure of the Republican Administration to handle this issue. Let's keep the focus on energy and make sure that everyone understands that if you wanted to drill more well you needed to do so in the 1995 time frame to produce more now. Lets keep the focus on energy and make sure that everyone understands that the oil Companies have 100s of thousands of acres under lease that they have not explored or developed and lets make sure everyone understands that they do not have the drilling rigs to explore or develop what they already have contracts on.

So come on and tell me how drilling more wells is going to accomplish anuthing today. So go ahead and tell me how after eight years of Bush sitting in the White House doing the bidding of oil companies a meaninless removal of an excutive order enacted by his father effects anything, it does not.

McCain and his staff are so out of touch with reality it is truely scary.

We must learn from history or it will repeat itself !
Lets point the fingers at those responsible.
SOCIAL SECURITY?

If there is anyone out there that doesn't know this, this is the best visual presentation I ever saw...
Now don't be mad at old people, just remember who did this when you vote....
Thank you for sharing Social Security,
How It Got Stolen with Our Social Security

Franklin Delano. Roosevelt
32nd. President, Democrat
Terms of Office March 4, 1933, to April 12, 1945

GOOD TO HERE ! Our Social Security

Franklin Delano. Roosevelt (Terms of Office March 4, 1933, to April 12, 1945), a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program.  He promised:   ;

1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary,

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,

3.) That the money the participants elected to put Into the Program would be deductible from Their income for tax purposes each year,

4.) That the money the participants put into the Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General operating fund, and therefore, would Only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paidto the Fe deral government to 'Put Away' -- you may be interested in the following:

----------THEN---------------------------------------------------

Dwight David Eisenhower
34th. President, Republican,
Term Of Office: January 20, 1953 to January 20, 1961
Insert by Vincent Peter Render,
If I recall correctly, 1958 is the first year that Congress voted to remove funds from Social Security and put it into the General Fund for Congress to spend.

If I recall correctly, it was a democratically Controlled Congress.

From what I understand, Congress logic at that time was that there was so much money in Social Security Fundthat it would never run out / be used up for the purpose it was intended / set aside for.

-------------WORSE STILL------------------------------------------------

Lyndon Baines Johnson36th. President, Democrat
Term Of Office: November 22, 1963 to January 20, 1969
Question: Which Political Party took Social Security from the Independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the General Fund so that Congress could spend it?

Answer: It was Lyndon B. Johnson (Democrat, Term Of Office: November 22, 1963 to January 20, 1969) and thedemocratically Controlled House and Senate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Question: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax Deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

Answer:      The Democratic Party.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

William Jefferson Clinton
(Bill Clinton)
42nd. President
Democrat Term of Office: January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001 Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.
(Al Gore)
45th. Vice President
Democrat Term of Office: January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001
Question: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?

Answer: The Democratic Party, with Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. (Al Gore) [Vice President Term of Office: January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001] casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

------------------THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMEL'S BACK !!-------------------------------------------------

James Earl Carter, Jr(Jimmy Carter)
39th. President, Democrat
Term of Office: January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981 Question: Which Political Party decided to start giving Annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:
Answer: That's right! James Earl Carter, Jr. (Jimmy Carter) (Democrat, Term of Office: January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981) and the Democratic Party.

Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of Awareness will be planted and maybe changes will Evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully Sure of what isn't so.

But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to?

Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.

AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thomas Jefferson
3rd. President, Democrat
Term of Office: January 20, 1777 to January 20, 1781

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.

I wish everyone would stop picking on poor old John and realize he needs more energy and perhaps should consider some mind exercises as well.

I'm sorry people but picturing McCain as president just doesn't come into focus very well.

McCain used to be respectable. He's a bigger flip-flopper than John Kerry. He knows oil companies can already drill off shore in 80% of the area in question yet they've chosen not too so far. He also knows drilling won't make a dent in the price of gas for consumers. That isn't even disputable. In the end he's too much like GW Bush and that will keep him out of the Whitehouse. The American people were fooled once but they wont' be again.

"Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, are opposing any effort to expand exploration in the United States,” said McCain policy advisor Doug Holtz-Eakin."

of course they are, b/c theyr'e not IDIOTS!!!! all this exploration will do is make the oil companies richer. it will have ZERO effect on current gas prices. the ONLY way to make america independent is with renewable resources like wind and the sun.

arent you just the least bit suspicious that we have oil billionaires in the white house and oil prices have skyrocketed and oil companies made history-making profits in the billions?!!? if you think this is just coincidence, there's a 7-foot-tall hairy man out here in the pacific northwest you will want to meet!
