(CNN) - Sen. John McCain sharpened his attacks against Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday, saying he'd rather give a speech in Germany as president than as a presidential candidate.
Obama was in Berlin for the latest leg of an international trip intended to bolster his foreign policy credentials at home and set out his vision for a new era of transatlantic cooperation.

McCain was campaigning Thursday in Ohio, focusing on health care.
Speaking to reporters outside Schmidt's Restaurant and Banquet Haus, a German eatery in Columbus, Ohio, McCain responded to Obama's Berlin speech, which attracted large crowds at the Victory Column.

"Well, I'd love to give a speech in Germany ... a political speech or a speech that maybe the German people would be interested in," he said. "But I would much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate for the office of the presidency."

Of course McBush doesn't want to speak to the German people as a candidate for president. He'd be laughed out of the country as the idiotic buffoon that he is. All he can talk about is his precious surge working, degrade Obama and ridicule his ideas, and give credit to the idiot in Washington for the price of oil going down. We deserve something better than that. He's almost as embarrasing as Bush is.

I don't know if McCain is being childish by whinning about the lack of press coverage he is getting or is in admiration of all the press coverage Obama is getting.

On the surface McCain has a good point. But considering our international relations are probably at the lowest they have ever been in this country, whether or not the rest of the world likes Obama is important to me as an American voter. Its going to be very difficult to repair 8 years of the Bush 'our way or the highway' approach.
On this issue we are better off knowing now whether not Europe (for example) is more likely to meet us halfway depending on who is president. If they like both candidates so be it and we can put this issue to bed. Obviously they like Obama in a big way. But I dont know about McCain... and I want to know.
Hopefully he will never get a chance as president so he might as well go and bore the Germans now with his platitudes.
McCain could only dream about attracting that many to one of his speeches in our outside the US. Keep dreaming!
