(CNN) - Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday challenged people to look to Berlin as an example of what can be accomplished when nations come together to tackle global challenges.

"This city, of all cities, knows the dream of freedom. And you know that the only reason we stand here tonight is because men and women from both of our nations came together to work, and struggle, and sacrifice for that better life," he said before a massive crowd at Berlin's Victory Column.

Watch: Obama says the world needs to unite as one

Obama introduced himself as a "proud citizen of the United States and a fellow citizen of the world."
Thousands gathered for Obama's highly anticipated speech - an event the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee said was not a "political rally."

Messages like this need to be re-stated more often than they are. If there is no dialog, nations tend to close their doors and their minds to what is going on in the world. We of the earth are all on the same bus, need to share all earths vast resources. However as we are beginning to see that as more nations become more modernized the resources that this earth we all share are distributed amongst may more nations. So we are able to get less than needed. If this continues we will be fighting aver resoruces more and more, whether it be oil, water food growing areas.

It is an idea that we all need to get along as it will be a nicer bus ride.

Now I bet John McCain is angry with his campaign for forcing Obama to go abroad, never will McCain force Obama to do anything because right now Obama has the Midas touch.

Oh dear, how McCain wishes he was the one getting all the attention, watch out Senator Obama, now you will not be on Senator McCain’s Xmas list.

An awesome speech. Can you believe the number of people there! When Senator Obama is elected President just think of what the world's image will be of America as opposed to what it is right now.

Chutzpah plus for campaigning out of the USA! The arrogant Obama drama is such a farce! But, the presumptive nominee is a great pretender/actor. :(

I will be very relieved when the media hoopla is over, Obama is a nonentity back in the Senate, and Senator John McCain is President of the USA! :)

Wasn't Obama heckled at the Western Wall? Why is this not reported, just the good points are all you report. This is actually quite scary. We can not return to the days of Pres. Kennedy and neither can the rest of the World. To think so is not living in real time...Also, the time of the end comes to mind

This man is a joke. If the press thinks they are going to win this election with all of this wonderful stuff about this goofy man they are so wrong. I don't know of anyone who wants him as president or anything else. He has no policy's except what he thinks people want to hear. This is a very scary person and America better wake up to the truth and show not just Obama but the media that their little games are over.
