As much as I thought Obama's comments with reporters in Iraq were great, I was as equally uninspired by his comments yesterday in Israel. He backtracked, sidestepped, and gave corporate answers to many of the questions. I liked his Iraq comments because he seemed candid and some of his comments, which may not be that popular, represented him and his platform.

As for the world loving the United States if Obama is elected, you are in for a rude awakening. Most of the world is still going to hate the United States because the US is one of the haves and the North-South problem is very dividing. It doesn't matter who the president of the US. Obama may be liked in Europe because he resembles many of the European socialists who are in power right now.

McCain goaded Obama about going to Iraq.(small thinking)....so Obama went a few steps further and is visiting about EIGHT countries......Obama is wise beyond his years and to know him is to respect him.....Mcain should be careful what he wishes for !!!!!!

There is NOTHING similiar between John F Kennedy and Obama.

Kennedy had been a World War 2 War hero, a Congressman and a Senator for 15 years before becoming President. Obama has not even been a senator for 3.5 years yet. He has less experience than anyone to ever run for President.

The media who continues to swoon over Obama is looking so incredibly biased. It is amazing that the NYT would not publish an editorial by a Presidential Candidate because the do not support them. Their opinions, after all, have absolutely NOTHING to do with our economic prosperity and national security.

Why can't the American public see, as you and I do, what's REALLY important in their lives? I really think many of you are looking too far into this. He obviously wants to help not just himself (come on, this is politics...expect it), but also his country. What we need the MOST right now are better international relations and I don't understand what you think he's doing wrong.

I believe this is a landmark step in the right direction and can only help our standing in the world.

How splendid he's appearing in the one place that socialist public policy has failed the most in the past 25 years.

As Germany fights to extricate itself from it's liberal and very costly government entitlements–Obama speaks of adopting their own failed domestic policies here in the United States.

Is this just me. or does anyone else think it's very impractical and a little wierd we are accepting public policy that has failed elsewhere just because of the failures of the neo-con George Bush and his cadre of deception and impropriety? Making things better by making things worse–doesn't seem like a good strategy for me. If McDonald's duplicated the failed strategies of some of their competitors–they wouldn't be the worlds fast food leader today. To 45Revolver – General speeches given by any candidate, especially to people abroad, are never really going to include a lot of details about policy. Policy details are usually laid out in other places – such as their websites, other in-depth websites, print interviews, etc. You're just not looking in the right place.

Is it really possible for speech writers to create a great speech devoid of the speaker – oh hater. Some of Barack's speeches are great not because of delivery but because of content – like the personal speech on his patriotism or his race speech (you have to be him or a close friend or family member to write more than 50% of those speeches).

Speech writers are two in a dozen. Speech writers can be hired. Why cant Bush or McCain hire one or any other politician who is not a great speech writer. Hint: Read one of his books (he won an award on those). Someone wrote those two? One was before he was anybody? You think they teach sitting around and blogging hate at Havard or that the editor of a Havard Law Review will not be able to write an excellent speech?

Obama the future President that will bring back dignity and respect to the White House. The world is watching!

Obama is my kind of commander and chief. He took on the challenge from McCain and now McCain and people who do not like Obama wants to complain. If he did not take on the challenge you would still complain and whine.. He is dam if he does and he is dam if he doesn't.

Why do we care what europe thinks, this is not their vote. This our country and if they want him so bad, why can't they put him in as their president? We care what Europe thinks because the countries there are our allies and if they view us in a poor light, we will never get their aid. If they look up to us, we will have a much better relationship with them, creating a better world atmosphere which boosts the economy.

They can't have him as their president because he is not a citizen of any European countries.

I bet they would vote him into office as he is polling in at least the 60's of most countries there and 70's in others, including Germany.

For the person who said that he had no policy talk in Israel. He talked about America acting as a mediator between Israel and Palestine and that while anyone who is attacked has the right to strike back that the negotiations between them would be in regard to a two state solution. He also spoke on still having talks with Iran and letting Iran know that under his presidency he'd be offering incentives and punishments if Iran continued it's nuclear ambitions and continued threatening Israel.

Watch and Read the coverage before speaking please. Too much talking not enough listening.

Also, we are in a global economy that requires free trade for prosperity for any nation. He' s not against free trade he just wants to make sure American interests are covered properly in current and future agreements.

Good for you President Obama. Get off of the egocentric train of most (the majority) Americans. Those in the minority realize that the world is made up of more than just Americans. Until we have a leader who promotes unity and parternership, we will continue to be the most hated country in the world which, as evidenced in the most recent 7 years, will lead to a quick demise – consider mortgages and the state of the economy, consider the lack of employment. No More Bush/McSame. We need a true leader, a real man and not another coward in office.

Germany's fiscal situation isn't much better than the U.S. or other nations right now. While leaders in Europe are trying to extricate them from many of the failures of overly socialistic and anti-freemarket policies, the U.S. is attempting to duplicate all of their mistakes on social policy, healthcare, and economics.

I'm I the only one who sees something wrong with a President who want's to pursue failed public policy, untested foreign policy, and who has no grasp of macro-economics?

We only know what the media (all forms) lets us know.
I feel , sometimes, that Mr. O'bama forgets he isn't the president, yet.
I hope he hurries home from his 'world tour' so he can tell the people in America, just what he is going to do about the economy,energy,health care ,etc, without re-fining his re-fining again.

Obama will definintely be a welcome change from the previous leader's, "your either with me or your against me." And for anyone who had any doubt about Obama's sense of purpose in Europe I'm sure his reference to being a citizen not a President should clear that up!
I'm sure an Obama White House will be much more attentive to the
wishes and needs of the American People. The Hillary supporters who have banned together to debunk Obama's Nomination need to grow up and realize they could be instrumental in plunging Americans into another four years of Bush Devastation!

Obama's style is not even comparable to the Bush style of Politics which will be a definite plus for his Campaign. A plus McCain unfortunately can't claim. He is a Bush clone in all respects!

I'm very excited, in a few hours he will speak here, in Berlin. I was watching all the primaries and caucus results, I kept being awake till 3-4 a.m. in the morning just to see the results. I was pro Obama from the very beginning until now and I think and hope, he wll become the next President of the United States.

Of course it won't be a "wonkish policy speech". Obama has NO policies. It will be another empty speech offering no solutions and void of substance. Europeans will love it, because Obama lowers the United States down to the level Europe.

This trip of Obama's is typical of his campaign: very long on photo ops and zero substance. Hillary must be livid.

Obama offers nothing except $ 1 trillion in tax increases, but people love a sideshow.

This speech is going to be so good and inspirational, that I predict McCain has to pick his VP within 10 hours of it as his only response.

It is just a SPEECH. One of several 100 he has probably given in his life time. You know the News Media needs to get a grip and focus on more important issues and events. I am an Obama supporter and I really think the news needs to get into the details of both candidates plans about health care. My question is what topic will the speech be on? Is there something that is so important that should be said in Europe rather than here in the US? I can understand him visiting these places and meeting with leaders of those countries. I am not sure that anything more need be said other than things that have already been said.

Senator Obama is the most inspiring, thoughtful and intelligent politicians I've seen in a long time. For those media hawks, like Couric, your news programs and "Faux-News" who continue to try and ride him about the so-called "surge" success, you need to pipe down on critisizm. I don't know if some of you listen but he keeps saying that there is a drop in violnce in the surge but there are important measures that havne't been met. For one, there still is no conciliaiton between the various groups on how the oil monies will be distributed. There really is no political reconciliation between the parties which the surge was supposed to help with. I am tired of politicians and the media talking to us as children instead of talking to us like adults and have adult conversations like Barack offers us. The surge has worked minimally with other serious factors that haven't been met because of the surge. Don't let the Right dictate this debate with stupid rhetoric about successful surges. We shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place. Ask them about that!

Obama did not pick Germany as his venue for a rally, because he wanted to change German perceptions about America. Oh, he insists it's no campaign rally, but just a speech at the Victory Column, as if every visiting senator does that. Why will they cheer?
