The scarier thought is if he really believes all his lines, just as Bush does.

I really think the media has responsibility to educate the electorate on the key issues. They should do so in a way that appeals to our logic instead of our emotions. We have an important decision and we should not just pick a side and not question who we have sided with. The voters did not do a good job at choosing our last president. We as voters also have a responsibility to educate ourselves. We need to demand more from the media. Treat us with some intelligence and maybe our actions will reflect that.

After listening to Obama's speech in Berlin, if he's not the type of President we need at this moment, I doubt who else or will. He's articulate, visionary, charismatic, and yes, charming.

I'm an enlightened citizen with no party preference, I look at candidate's manifesto, personality, and yes, eloquence in delivering, even bad news to the audience. Obama seems to have it all. The whole world seems to see these qualities in him, I hope the real voters see them too. Take your party affiliation out of the equation and go by what the country needs at this moment in our history, and who can reconnect us to the world we seem to have disconnected ourselves from over the years.

I have said the same thing. the military-industrial complex is the real power running the country and if they want McCain to be POTUS he will be. FDR said something to the effect that nothing happens in politics that isn't already planned to be that way. If the plan is for Obama to be POTUS he will be. Did this report mention Charlie Black? Wow! I thought that he was replaced and asked to leave the campaign. I guess that means that with the McCain campaign, you never leave. I think it is time to see how the McCain campaign works (if it does). I thought that Phil Gramm was leaving his role, but it isn't clear and sure. Charlie Black is still there despite many calls for his departure. Maybe one of these two guys could be the VP for McCain since they seem to do a lot of speaking for him, but not for him.

Obama's trip would have been encouraged had it been for the right reasons. It was a campaign pure and simple. He gave a speech in Germany that bashed America and gave a craptastic excuse to not visit the troops. McCain is throwing out speculation on his VP in a weak attempt to stay relevant in the news. He can't stand all the good press Obama is getting. He is green with envy. He will probably not announce till late in August.

A sharp decline in the intensity of news coverage of the Iraq war immediately followed General David Petraeus' testimony before Congress last September.

Cybercast News reports that data from the Multi-National Force-Iraq shows there were 219 embedded reporters in Iraq when Petraeus told Congress that the surge was working. That was also the month that the surge reached full force.

The number of embedded reporters has since dropped by 74 percent in nine months to just 58 in June.

The largest single-month drop in embeds came in October of 2007 right after the general's testimony.

suggestion for a Veep running mate for EITHER candidate:
an Asian-American female. Requisite 35-years old, at least

News Anchor, Lawyer, Scientist, etc. Someone who actually
knows about the economy or global warming, etc. Minorities

With McCains botching of historical facts he seems like an old man with Alzheimer's and you try to explain he is wrong about the Iraq Annwhar awakening; the awakening started in August 2007, the surge troops were sent in February 2007 and didn't start operations until July 2007; No McCain the surge did not save the life of the Sheik that started the awakening you for some reason believe it did but he died in December 2007. The fact is maybe the surge helped but it was in no way the catalyst that you are spinning it to be. Second, the surge is a tactical strategy; not a Middle East Policy. It is important to find a VP that has supported the war and is very vocal on support of the 'Surge' since this is all McWar talks about. You would think McBush engineered the Surge himself and not Gen Petraeus to hear him talk. McSurge brags non stop about supporting the Surge. Of course he supported the Surge since he supported this terrible,foolish and wasteful war from the onset. McBush critisizes Obama for not supporting the Surge. Again, of course Obama did not support the Surge. Obama has been very rightfully against this foolish war over oil rights, so for Obama to be for an escalation of the war would have made him as hypocritical as McWar himself. Did the Surge do some good? Yes it did, very much in part because of the Sunni Tribes coming over to our side. McLiar says the Surge is the reason the Sunni Tribes turned. False, the Sunni Tribes turned well before the Surge was even proposed. Although the Surge was a good thing. We are still mired in a war that kills our young Soldiers and we gain nothing from it unless your an Oil Company CEO or are being paid by one. Obama rightfully wants an end to the Iraq occupation and so do the people and government of Iraq. McWar speaks of a 50 to 100 year occupation of Iraq against the desire of their people and ours. If all McBush has is his Surge, which has ended. Then McBush has nothing to offer.

I don't know when McCain should make the announcement of who should run as his vp. I think that he can probably skip someone from the south more than likely because the south looks at canidates hard and they will read Obama's B.S. pretty quick compared to the north, north east and the extreme west coast. I think the western states will be safe for him to. They are a lot like southerns and display a lot of good old common sense. so he had better pick someone from the areas that will help him in the electoral vote. Obama can claim all he wants to about it being publicized about visiting the wounded troops in Germany . As a veteran of twenty years I know that regulations apply to stop photo ops and stuff like that from happening. He has no excuse from not visiting them. If he can go on his "GOD" tour of europe than he could have seen the troops instead of drinking champagin and listening to rock concerts staged to open his events. Who cares about an un-named VP that will never be? Obama will win and all you pessimists who harbor disdain for Obama's popularity at home and abroad had best get over it or prepare to live in that state of mind for at least the next four years. There is, however, another alternative. While you can't control whether Obama moves to Europe where he is soooo well liked, you can control whether you move to some other country where he is not so well liked (but good luck finding one). I actually encourage you to do just that because you are the weakest links that have enabled Bush to place the US in this predicament in the first place. Let me be clear…Obama is no Messiah and can perform no miracles, but there is an undeniable similarity to THE Messiah. He is being persecuted by the very people he has come to serve.

Is Obama running for president or King? What arrogance. Even some European gov officials are saying that Obama gives a good speech but that's about it. No substance period. Wait till Obama announces his VP choice. He will loose a few more points in the polls when those poor diehard Hillary for VP supporters pack it in. I find it funny that Obama's talk in Berlin was preceded by a free concert of two popular artists in Germany...Makes a great photo op to have "tens of thousands" attend your speech.

You Dems do not realize this, but a lot of moderates (such as myself) really like McCain because we are in the middle.
