Sen. Obama met with Jordan's King Abdullah Tuesday.
Sen. Obama met with Jordan's King Abdullah Tuesday.

(CNN) — So what exactly did Barack Obama and King Abdullah discuss when the monarch drove the presidential candidate to the airport? CNN’s Candy Crowley asked the Illinois senator that very question.

Obama didn’t divulge “confidences between myself and King Abdullah” to Crowley. But he said the ride was smooth – perhaps too smooth for some.

“I gather he was going faster than it felt while I was in the car,” said Obama. “That is the report I was getting from the Secret Service afterwards.”

King Abudllah II of Jordan drove Obama to the airport in a Mercedes 600 this week as Obama readied to fly from Jordan to Israel. Their ride followed a meeting regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Obama has shown us all that he can connect with world leaders, I am sure the jealous republicans will have something negative to say about this. However, if the situation were reversed and this were McCain instead of Obama, everyone would be singing his praises and no one would have anything negative to say.

Let me just say, I think Obama will be an excellent president.

OBAMA WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT!   July 25th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

OBAMA YOU ARE SO REFRESHING AND SO REAL, I'M GLAD YOU ARE NOT A DIEHARD POLITICIAN LIKE THE OTHERS, MAYBE THATS WHY YOU REPRESENT REAL CHANGE. LOOK WHERE ALL THIS EXPERIENCE HAS GOTTEN THIS COUNTRY. I HAVE TWO HOMES AND MAY BE LOSING BOTH OF THEM SOON, BUT YOU GIVE ME HOPE!!! GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA. THE TIME IS NOW, WE ARE THE PEOPLE WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

Maggie Muggins From Selwyn   July 25th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Well look what we have here. A mature adult from America talking with other leaders from other countries. That's something no one has seen for a long time. Better elect McCain and stop the good will right now before the world gets a better impression of Americans.

Gary in VA   July 25th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

There are a bunch of Haters out there. First McCain insisted Obama go to Iraq. He even had a day counter of how many days he hadn't been there. Obama goes there add a few countries to the trip and is overwhelming welcomed and adored by the other countries. Now McCain become a Obama stalker noting his every move. In my opionion Obama was a huge success. He displayed statesmenship and represented the United States of American very well. Did he look presidential? Of course he did. The American public was wondering if he could fill those shoes. He filled them very well and the shoes looked better on his feet that anyone could every image. Remember Senator Obama is a very smart and highly educated man. He has simply beat them at their own game POLITICS!!!!!
Below is well said by NoMcSane had to copy and paste.
Obama. Educated by the white man and now after he learned and did the right thing the American way he is hated more by them. All our lives we are told to stay in school and out of trouble and all doors will be open to you. Take care of your family and pay your bills and everything will be ok. Well we have a man in Obama that has done all of the above and he is hated by many Americans. WHY??? If he was White and the world had the same view of him as it does right now he would be the greatest man alive but just because he is black he is called every hate filled name in the book. They say "who does he think he is" and all sorts of things about him. In other words they are thinking doesn't that "N" know his place. I will answer thay for you and the answer is YES he does and his place is the place that he is in right now running for the office of the President Of the United States.

All I can say is that those on the soapbox proclaiming that anyone against Obama is racist is very disappointing. Their own narrow-mindedness precludes that from the posibilities that there are other reason such as experience. And that if Colin Powel was running on the Democratic ticket, he would win in a landslide. Its a shame that some people are so closed minded.

NoMcsame–
I could'nt have said it better. There are some serious problems with a lot of Americans. To outwardly "hate"" someone that has expressed only unity and hope to millions of people makes you wonder. Americans are beside themselves to try and hide an in grown behavior taught and preached in their homes. Why do people see themselves as better? Why Hate? This election has shown the true colors of many Americans and its sad.

tedious898   July 25th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

America amazes me.

There are some many that despice Barack just because of his skin color. What else could it be?

Certainly, he gets along well with anyone from any other country - leaders no less. And yet here in america there is this rather large population of "Barack haters" that demean anything positive he does.

They call him names…and I honestly believe they would spit in his face the moment he extended his hand to them. Heck the guy has done nothing to any of them, except run for the highest office in america.

Boy….this type of hate is hard to live with

JMcM   July 25th, 2008 2:37 pm ET

To NoMcsame,

If Obama was white, Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic nominee and it's pointless to deny it.

A white man, no matter how brilliant an orator, no matter how good his judgement, with such a thin resume wouldn't have had a prayer against Hillary. For a start he wouldn't have got 20% of the African American vote, let alone over 90%. There would only have been one "historic" candidate and consequently there would have been no buzz around him at all.

Obama has many qualities that wil make him a great president, but don't try and pretend that being the first serious African American candidate hasn't helped him. That has been absolutely crucial to his success.

LOOK IN THE MIRROR at yourself and see how you have sold the country out, allowing yourself to be a believer in that old, senile, destined for a nursing home in the next year McCain. He lives for the rich while the poor will continue to suffer. I happen to like the Mercedes 600, and the only reason that many of you don't like Obama is because you know that a black man WILL come through on his word

Of course Obama is arrogant, we already know that, but he is also very scary. He is not the President and God knows what he is saying. He is not yet in a position to be discussing anything of any importance with anyone. What matters is our homeland, the beautiful and great USA. Obama acts like he is running for President in Europe. Well, he better be worried about getting votes in the USA. Hopefully, he will not get to be President here. 18 million of us are praying that he does not. He cannot be trusted. McCain is right when he said he would rather make a speech in Europe when he is President. He has enought brains to know that.

It's called hospitality at it's finest. He belongs with world leaders and intellectuals all over the world. Our country needs brains not racial bigotry. We need a leader that will try to unite all, not racially divide. It's not all the Repubs or McCain, that promote this division, the media has the greatest role in this matter. Look at their daily ticker. Not a day goes by, that we are reminded that Obama is Black. Usually negative stories, that has nothing to do with him. But they need to have that scary ? mark on him.

That statement sounds about right from a man and his wife that says"America needs to give more to each other and quite wanting the finer things in life" Apparently that does not apply to "THE BLACK MESSIAH AND HIS QUEEN". I don't see his wife giving up part of that big salary that Obama helped her get with that big pork barrel money he got for the hospital where she works I don't see him moving into a smaller house that the INDICTED crook RESKO helped him get. It is to give away someone elses property or money as long as you don't include yourself. I find it utterly disgusting and deflating that there are those posting calling Obama the "antichrist", a "satanist" and "Hitler"…All because he speaks of world unity???

For those "conservative christians" - Who don't trust Obama - Who aren't sure about his "character", which is in fact, more of an opinionated refferendum of what YOU feel Christianity is…Isn't that what Jesus was about?

Love thy neighbour as you love yourselves.

I think there are a few "christians" who could use some good time instead of blogging their hate and anger at a man who they claim they don't know - Yet spew out lies as fact as IF they know him, to go back home, sit and read that Bible of theirs that they tout so highly and understand the shameful hypocrasy of their anger.

If you consider yourselves "saved under the blood of Jesus", what do YOU have to fear? Aren't you going to heaven anyways? Is there any way you can stop the future, if it is already "written"? Why do you use your narrow-minded view of Jesus' teachings to spread your self-imposed hatred on the rest of us who just want to exist in peace and actually *try* to help others (which, whether you consider Obama a socialist or not, as a Christian, it is your DUTY to "serve others" - Or have you convieniently forgotten that as well…).

What would Jesus do, indeed.

What promises did he make behind closed doors that made Isreal comfortable enought to to something the entire world condemns. i want to ask all the Obama haters, does it NOT bother any of you that John McCain's whole campaign is run by Washington Lobbyist? it sure bothers me to know that if Mccain is elected his primary purpose is to those BIG OILG and BIG BUSINESS people who have bought him, lock stock and price of barrel

Bob   July 25th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

A vote for Obama is a vote for a one world socialist government. I somehow sure don't like a US president or presidential candiate kowtowing to dictators and socialists. When push comes to shove, even tho this is a world community the US needs to maintain its sovereignty. ANYONE but Obama the socialist. ANYONE but Obama the man with the radical preacher that hates anyone but black people, ANYONE but Obama who's wife is not proud to be an AMERICAN.

Mike, TX   July 25th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

jimmy   July 25th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

well, here we go gain Obama did not visit the real players in the middle east, nor the real representative of the people, same old same old politics, i see no real change in the US foreign policy here maybe never, if Mr. Obama want change then he has to meet with the real players, and not the dictators who has been rulling the middle east since the stone age, look arround mister, have any politician ever rasied the real question about democracy in the arab world, has anybody ask, only emire or kings or sulatan rule over there and control the wealth and the same car Mr. Obama enjoyed, it is the property of the king. domcracy, civil liberty, what a joke Mr. politicians

Bobby Jones   July 25th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

marvinj   July 25th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Respect begets respect …..Bush / McCain's go it alone cowboy attitude has destroyed confidence in America. We as a country should really care about this, if you can still afford to travel abroad. It is not safe to be recognized as an american and it is not because everyone one else in the world are radicals. If someone dislikes or policies they are a radical, talk about arroganance, Waste your vote with

MORE of the same McCain,

that is one of the rights we still have . Atleast for now!!

Maxwell   July 25th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Joan, Ontario   July 25th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

Mike in Dallas, your post is hilarious. Right on.

Danel   July 25th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Good Luck to you Mr. Obama. Come home safe.

Marius Krullebol   July 25th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

I hope that the American people (as in "we the people") don't get turned off by all this - just imagine the envy felt in countries like Russia right now - this beats a star war apparatus anytime.

Texas trail puppy!   July 25th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Waiting for the Ignorant Obama-haters to begin their rantings like Rabid Dogs ofcourse they are exactly like their candidate and his party…

King Abudllah squires Obama around dicussing world issues, while McCrypt is shuttled around in a golf court by the elder Bush, both complaining that Depends do not have a fly!

A singularly nasty comment, unfortunately a trademark of many of the posters here.

I am a Democrat, I will vote for Obama. However, these sorts of comments play into the GOTV efforts of the Republicans and really have no place here.

OBAMA Supporter all the way   July 25th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

And McCain was getting a ride from the Sr President Bush in a golf cart! LOL

Shawn T   July 25th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Here come the anti Obama attacks, something like this:

"Whaaaaaaaat??? The Kind of Jordan drove Obama to the Aiiiiirpoooort? That means OBAMA is soooooooo aaaarrogant!!!"

hillbilly,arkansas   July 25th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Venus   July 25th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Open Your 3rd Eye   July 25th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

Listen guys, this is so unimportant. You might as well write an article on what the man had for breakfast. Please stop the OVER-COVERAGE.

Tom   July 25th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

Obama didn’t divulge “confidences between myself and King Abdullah”

He promised to sell out America like he is doing on his whole trip, he will say what they want to hear then not do anything he said.. like he does in America why would it be different?

J   July 25th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

Wow, now this is news worth covering. Oh I forgot, the following that he seems to be attracting will go to any length to get him elected.

Mike Dallas   July 25th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

King Abudllah squires Obama around dicussing world issues, while McCrypt is shuttled around in a golf court by the elder Bush, both complaining that Depends do not have a fly!

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   July 25th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Why is this news? Wasn't this already mentioned? This whole thread should be removed. So the king of Jordan gave Obama a ride to the airport; two ways to spin that; either one, the king wanted Obama out of the country or two was that the king liked Obama and wanted to impress him with the car and the drive.

Jim P   July 25th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

A comment one might expect from a pimp!

Fred   July 25th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Wow, I love the way he cruises with other foreign leaders in their cars. He will be our coolest president ever.
