First McCain criticizes Barack for not having enough 'world' experience. Then Barack takes time out of his schedule and goes to all the spots where there are problems that he should see and McCain criticizes him for doing that. He gets along with the military they get mad at that. Then Europe and goes wild for Obama(all those 200,000 people had nothing better to do in Berlin) and the McCain camp has more jealousy fits because no one did that for McCain.

All McCain's campaign can do is complain because that at least keeps their antiquated candidate in the news.
Until the next whine
It's Obama in 08!

RE: rock concerts-how many have you attended where the crowd was waving American flags?? DUH.
Sen. Obama has done an excellent job working to restore the image of our country that GWB and his cronies have destroyed over the last 7 yrs. Now if the sore HRC losers and those that seem to admire warmongers will stop "pouting" and do some serious listening, research, and THINKING, maybe all his efforts will not be in vain.
Young people, we oldsters, over 60, are depending on you-don't let us down. I continue to hear the pundits say "as a rule young people don't show up to vote"- PLEASE PROVE THEM WRONG THIS TIME!!!!

Southern white granny rooting for OBAMA!!

Mcbush thought he was setting a trap for Obama by forcing him to visit Iraq. But he realized that he has fallen into his own very net, he cried foul play by the media. And what do you know; the media is stupid enough to fall for it. The truth of the matter is that Obama is advocating world peace, unity and the need to turn away from the old politics that creates more enemies than friends (that’s why the world is so enthuse about his candidacy). On the other hand, Mcbush is always talking about war, war, and bomb, bomb Iran. And he wonder why the media is not given him enough coverage. People are tired of war Mcbush; they want peace, love and justice for all. This is a new era, with new challenges that demands different approach as the one Obama offers.

The McSame camp is complaining about the trip that they insisted on Obama take. The trip has shown that Obama is indeed ready to take office, to be Commander In Chief, to be the world leader America has lacked for 8 years. So now that the McSame camp challenge has been met, they're whining. I think they can see the light, when McSame went overseas and gave talks, he couldn't draw 200 people, much less 200,000!

I love it when I read some dofus comment that 200,000 people really went to Obama's speech because two bands were playing before that. What world do you live in? Now if U2 or Pearl Jam, or a world famous band or singer was entertaining before the speech I could see several thousands being there just for the free concert but that was not the case out west here nor in Europe. Nice try, please insert your next false negative slam.

Why is it when you read CBS comments, you get both side of the coin from the comments.
CNN appears to moniter the comments and only put on the bias replys. Yeah Obama
BS- there are many of us who think his pretty speeches are just a bunch of Political huey.
He will tell us what he thinks we want to hear and then vote or do what ever he feels like, regardless of his promises.
BS

Obama is a compulsive liar and his comments cannot be taken seriously.

Lie: Obama says "There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me I’m not coming home to Selma, Alabama."

Fact: The Selma march occurred in March, 1965... Obama was born in August of 1961.

Example: Obama referred to the Banking Subcommittee as "my committee",

Fact: He's not even on the Banking Subcommittee.

Need I continue?

The speech had been intended less for the crowds gathered in Berlin's Tiergarten park than for "hesitant white voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Colorado and Virginia" Obama has proved himself to be a clever tactician, capable of shifting positions to suit his audience.
"He wants to convince (voters) that the world will also listen to a black president... And there's one other thing one shouldn't forget when talking about Obama: He easily reworks even positions that have been written in stone and adjusts to new requirements." Translated, you can't believe a thing this guys says.

Like Pelosi, Obama has overstepped his line of authority and attempting to usurp the President's authority.

I've NEVER been a Bush fan but Obama's actions are totally unacceptable.

Obama THINKS this one or two week tour is going to legitimize his foreign policy "experience". It's only shown his arrogance and disrespect for the electoral process and the United States.

During Obama's tenure as a Senator, he has NEVER gone overseas to participate in any legitimate Senatorial activity. Even now, and as was pointed out, he skipped out on the NATO meetings where he may have been able to use some influence to gain immediate help. That would have shown his leadership skills but he chose not to do so.

This just reinforced McCain's comments that Obama puts his personal needs before our country's needs. Such behavior has already gotten us into enough problems we don't need more of it.

Best Regards

Outrageous - who does Obama think he is?

His arrogance knows no bounds. I think this trip reflects a downright dangerous side of this man's character.

He represents absolutely no one but himself!

Hitler also knew how to stage events on a monumental scale that made the viewer believe that his election was strangely inevitable.

DO NOT PUT THIS POWER HUNGRY PERSON IN OFFICE!

Interesting to note that none of the press reported about the 4 rock bands that were playing at the venue where Obama spoke. I wonder how big the crowd would have been had a rock concert not been scheduled then.

The Obama campaign has moved from being "about America" to being about Obama's ego.

I think second guessing our president is healthy.
If Obama were to be elected, he will be treated the same.
We have to maintain our independent thinking no matter what.
That's why USA is great.

I think Obama feels this election is about him and not America. He continues with his empty rhetoric and no substance. His numbers are falling in America, he is losing the swingstates. He needs to be talking to Americans and not pandering the Europeans. I pray that God will not allow America to vote for Obama. He has a hidden agenda that will cause very dark days for America. I am happy that McCain is keeping up and defeating Obama in polls and will continue to do so as November draws closer. Its sad that Obama can talk the talk, but not walk the walk. Drop out Obama, America does not want you!

It's good that Obama went on this trip, I truly believe he will be the next president of this country, and i do not believe he crossed any lines, the man is truly a presidential figure. McCain at first encouraged Mr Obama to take this fact finding trip, and then was angry about the facts he found. All McCain did after that was criticize and attacked the man behind his back the whole time he has been abroad. This says a lot about McCain who is vying to be our next president. Makes you wonder what kind of backbiting tactics he will use against the american people once he takes office. I think that is a risk the American people do not need to take. The polls say Obama is the biggest risk as president, but McCain's rhetoric, lies and backbiting shows that HE is truly the biggest risk. McCain has been whining like a stuck hog about the media coverage of Obama's trip as well, which in my humble opinion is childish and very juvenile, and i would not expect such things from a 70+ year old man who i think is too old to be president anyway. It's his mistake that pressured Obama into going abroad, and now he will pay for it by not winning the election.

Obama decides to visit these countries this close to the election. He just "checking the box" to say he's been there, done that. He doesn't have enough experience to run a country and be commander-in-chief ot the most powerful military in the world. How can he lead if he's never served.
Why did he take the American Flag off his jet?
What are his intentions? He talks of change, but I don't need a sermon, I need to know what his plans are.
Holding hands and talking to the enemy are not the way of foreign policy.
Why hasn't anybody brought up his wife's thesis paper she wrote not that long ago--it would bury any other politician, but the media handles this guy with kid gloves because they don't want to be looked at as racist.
Finally, why did he cancel his trip to see the troops in Germany? That should have been the first place he stopped.

Well, he's certainly no George Bush or John McCain when it comes to oratory excellence ... thank God!

Imagine having an American leader once again who is willing to engage the world in a conversation regarding the future of human exisitence on this small orb.

John McCain in the mold of George Bush is simply a petty, ego-driven clown when he opens his mouth.

i dont know whats gotten into the american people. I cant understand
how a u.s. citizen can believe that we can go about this alone. I think it was great that obama went over to germany. This country needs to get back to what made us great in the first place. Thats establishing relationships with our partners in other countries. George Bush has given all americans a bad name. He's giving the republicans a bad name. I used to respect John Mccain but ive come to realize he's another bush. He wants to follow the same policies, he wants to use the same old republican political attacks. He is so fake. I was leaning towards voting for him but he has truly disappointed me the way that he is running his campaign. His major thing was being a maverick....being different..but he's no different than bush. They are one in the same

I think Sen. Obama's speech was brillant as all his speeches are. He understands the issues and what's facing America better than anyone I've seen in Washington. Grant it not that many of his Washington colleagues have the stage day in and day out to explain where they stand on the important issues. Never the less I think he is an inspiring and capable speaker. I just wish other people could see that. And I think if his skin was a different hue they would. I'm not saying everyone would vote for him but I'm saying he should be far ahead of McCain in the polls just based on the fact that he matches up with what the people are saying they want. I know some white people won't agree with this however racism does still exist in America. It is not as blatantly displayed as it once was none the less it still exist in the crevice of our society. Barack says he is a christian and one thing I know if it's God's will for Barrack to be president the devil in hell can not prevail against it.

God Bless Obama!

If you've ever been to a large event to see obama, you know that you have to get there several hours early. Don't you think it would be nice to provide people some entertainment while they are waiting several hours to hear him speak? Some of you people are extremely intollerant. He has every right to go overseas and speak. If you don't like it, go to your local grocery store, and watch John McCain create his own version of history in front of the cheese case.

I have a question for the Republicans who disagree with OBAMA on his tour and speech in Berlin to consolidate our alliances.
How much will the IRAK war or the fight against AL-Queda and the talibans in Afghanistan will cost the USA if we were to fight them on our own?
How much will it cost to the taxpayer? How damageable will it be for our economy?
I'm not an economy major but my common sense tells me the war and the economy are tied and if we can minimize the cost of war my bringing other countries to our side and we can use the saving to help create jobs here in USA

This whole trip was strickly PR for obama...what a sham the whole thing was...and paid for by the tax payer. Such deception has been played on the people, but in the end, when the media makes obama President of the USA...we will ALL have to pay for the foolishness of having elected this inexperience, full of himself unknown, and we will have taken a further step in loosing our precious democracy that the young folks do not understand and charish as us older folks do.

Slick barack crossed the line again. Of course he criticized a sitting president on foreigh soil, and made statements and promises that only the president or his representative could do. Obama is absolutely full of himself .... as usual. Barack has the gift of gab, and 20-20 hindsight and tries to look back and grab credit for decisions and actions he had nothing to do with.... totally disingenuous and inappropriate. America does not trust Obama - it is that simple.

Only yhe President should speak for the "American Citizens". Senator Obama speaks for the "Citizens of the state he represents".
If President Bush asked Obama to be his envoy and speak, then all is of - but guess what - he (President Bush) did not.
Obama needs to learn what being a Senator is first before contemplating to be President.
All of us have started at the bottom and worked our way up through good performance. Obama appears to want to go straight to the top without proving he can perform (like attending meetings here in the US and working for his constiuents).
He made a tactical and an ethical mistake.

All of us have started at the bottom and worked our way up through good performance. Obama appears to want to go straight to the top without proving he can perform (like attending meetings here in the US and working for his constiuents).
He made a tactical and an ethical mistake.

I almost never post on a McCain ticker because I'm an Obama supporter. Why is it that McCain's tickers hardly have any postings but anything that has Obama in the title gets overrun with comments? Is this a concerted effort to flood the comments so they can close and make it appear that Obama has no supporters? Anywho, McCain practically taunted Obama to go overseas and then when he does, he whines about it all week. If he would have been substantive, then he would have been accused of campaigning. He kept it general so now he's being presumptuous. If Obama would win an election by 40 and 50 points in Europe, why is it so hard for Obama detractors to admit that he could draw 200,000 in Germany? It's closer here and he drew 75,000 in Oregon, while McCain couldn't even fill a 1,900 seat auditorium. IT'S BECAUSE MCCAIN'S BORING!

From US News..

"troops from the United States—along with just a handful of other countries—do the bulk of the heavy fighting, while a number of other ISAF detachments are limited by their own governments' combat restrictions. These include prohibitions, or "caveats," against, for example, fighting in the snow for troops from some southern European nations. Other soldiers are required to stay in calmer areas of the country or to keep their aircraft grounded at night or to consult their home legislatures before operating near the volatile Pakistani border."

Yeah, NATO is really going to jump in and make the difference in Afghanistan...

not an obamabot, thank God,

First, you should not used God's name in vain. Second, can you speak another language, French? If not, what is your comment really saying, nothing? Whew, another commentor that confirms why the U.S. had two terms of Bush/Cheney.

A free concert will draw a crowd but it don't mean people will listen to Obama talk. Obviously they liked him and was interested into what he was saying. Mccain could not get a crowd to come out if they were giving away free tv's!!

Just pick nic pick nic pick about everything obama does. Complained about him not going overseas but when he goes you still complain!! Grow up and stop the freaking whining!!

Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what really happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (a big top tent for playing basketball or working out with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. (You've seen this picture) After which he again shunned the opportunity to talk to soldiers, to thank them for their service. Obviously he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country. If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person I saw. What you see in the news is all fake.

Wow! What a feeling to see all those people cheering for an American. And an American who understands that we live in a world that is larger and more diverse than just this country. An American who understands that issues that face us now don't just face Americans, but humans in every country.

Does it bother anyone that this person is running around the world acting as though he is already the president? Is it really his place to travel to other nations making US policy statements when he hasn't even been elected? Remember when pelosi went to the middle east last year and made policy statements not only for the US (which she had no authority to make) but also for Isreal? Does anyone else find this behavior disturbing and dangerous?

Whoever wrote the headline about Obama "winning hearts but not minds in Berlin" was off the mark. That was a misleading headline because if you read the article it did not have facts that many people at all didn't agree with him. Perhaps a few maybe, but that's to be expected. Are they insinuating that over 200,000 people yesterday were not in agreement with him. Sure looked like it to me. Headlines are meant to grab a readers attention so they will read the article but they should be TRUE and not misleading. An earlier headline about Obama being "heckled" was also exaggerated because it was only ONE man! Some people will only read the headline and believe it much like some people will believe what they saw on the cover of the New Yorker. Yesterday Senator Obama represented your country really well and you should have all been very proud of him.

At least Obama can speak English - and pretty well IMHO. Unlike a certain McCain. And that is independent of content.
