Sen. Barack Obama listens to British Tory Leader David Cameron Saturday in London.

LONDON (CNN) – It is no secret that Sen. Barack Obama’s whirlwind tour of the Middle East and Europe has left him, and everyone staffing and covering him, absolutely exhausted.

When asked how he was feeling the other day, he told reporters aboard his campaign plane that he was feeling a bit “sleepy.”

Earlier today, while meeting with Conservative Party Leader David Cameron, the pool camera microphone picked up some light banter between the two men about Obama’s current state of fatigue.

Cameron told the candidate, "You should be on the beach…you need a break. Well you need to be able to keep your head together."

Obama told Cameron he would try to take a week of in August. And he said he got advice from a Clinton White House veteran on how to handle the demands on his time.

Obama said, "Somebody who had worked in the White House who-not Clinton himself- but somebody who had been close to the process, said that should we be successful that actually the most important thing you need to do is to have big chunks of time during the day when all you're doing is thinking and the biggest mistake that a lot of these folks make is just feeling as if you have to be…"

Cameron interjected, "these guys just chalk your diary up."

Obama agreed, "right, exactly, in 15 minute increments"

Cameron told him, "We call it the dentist waiting room. You have to scrap that because you've got to have time."

Obama said not taking that break is when "you start making mistakes or you lose the big picture."

This all boils down to Nov 4th. Tween now and then, we will all get a clearer picture on who Obama and Mccain really are and not just the vague collection of thoughts meant to hook and land a voter. Let's keep our eyes open.

Barack Obama is truely what we need in the United States. I listen to what some of the Republicans have to say and its so self centered. They only think whats best for people like themselves. People who are rich and conservative. I see jealousy and no smarts about them. We need a President thats going to look after and help the average man. A person cannot be objective about a situation unless that person has experience the situation. The high gas prices, people losing their homes and no good jobs. Republicans blaming people and lenders for the foreclosure problem and forgetting that those same people have invested in paying taxes in this country. They need a return on their investment which is a good paying job in the United States, gas to get to work and enough of this Bush administartion that got us in this mess. Things will get more worse if we dont change the problem at hand. McCain is the same problem. Voting for McCain is voting for Bush. How crazy is that? Gos bless American and Barack Obama.

Any critics of Obama who have vainly been trying to portray Obama as unexperienced on foreign affairs and diplomacy should be ashamed of themselves. Obama's tour in Middle-East and Europe has proven the opposite. The truth ought to be said, recognized, and acknowledged. The truth is that the man (Obama) is a great leader, a leader loved and reverred worldwide, and a leader whose authority effects (impacts on) people in the world as if the distinct countries of the world have become the provinces the USA. The people of the world considers Obama not as the next president of the USA, but rather as their next president.

Witz   July 26th, 2008 8:52 pm ET

I could not be prouder of the super job Obama has done on his recent foreign trip. Yes, he deserves to catch his breath. But then he will continue to motivate, inspire and move this nation in the positive direction it so desperately needs. :)

Congratulations Barack.

to quote Fred C Dobbs: "The public is left with crap when you should be writing critical reports."

Critical reports? Have you even compared the two candidates, and what they're doing? McCain is having one screw up after another, Obama is playing it perfect. Even if I didn't agree with Obama's policies, which I do, I would never leave the country in the hands of a man stuck in the past and who's head clearly isn't 100% anymore.

Anonymous   July 26th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

I just had dinner with a neighbor who sadly voted for George Bush 2 times. You should listen to her today. The most ardent supporter of Barak Obama I've ever heard. Barak OBAMA the next president of these United States of America.
What an exciting clip it was to watch Obama in Berlin and in France. What a change to see thousands of europeans screaming for our next president Barak Obama.
We need change and we need it now. We need a president who can unify our country with the western nations again. We need a president who is not afraid to air his view points. We need a president who can say, I said we needed to be in Afganestan not Iraq, and we need to be in Afganestan now, with more troops, now, and we need to get out of Iraq as soon as possible.
We need a president, Barak Obama, who is educated, brilliant, articulate, and yet humorous and caring and a loving husband and father at the same time.
We need Barak OBAMA for President of these United STates of America.
Thank you.

I read the comments of the pro Obama crowd and wonder just how stupid are you people? Now I'm not saying McCain is a genius, but Obama has done virtually nothing in his political career! But the Obama cheer squad thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread. This guy is nothing but a puppet, a well trained puppet, of the far left wing goof balls. Obama will bring this country to it's knees by furthering the agenda of the far left, I dont care whe get's elected as long as it's not Obama the puppet! …….. Left wing Demoncrats suck !!!!

The only one hurling bricks, Fred, is McCain. he can't say one sentence without a jab at him, can't answer one question without Barack's name in the answer…if he would talk about HIMSELF and HIS ideas…oh. but wait, then no one would listen, because it's just more of the same. McCain promised to run a positive campaign. So far, the only positive is that he will trash Obama every chance he gets. Not a leader, in my opinion…just a whiny old man.

It seems silly people are asking for balanced coverage of McCain - Obama is on the make-or-break trip McCain dared him to take, visiting heads of state and speaking before six-digit crowds, while McCain is putting out false rumors he might announce a VP pick and golfing with Bush Sr. Which is more newsworthy?

bt   July 26th, 2008 8:25 pm ET

Obama needs to come home, get him some rest and regroup..He has done a fanastic job in his travels and has all the respect of the World…its the cronies here in America who are so f/u in the mind..they are so use to b/s that they don't recognize the real deal…to bad we can't dump them all in the river..in the mean time, I don't understand why Obama would want such a job as Pres of these US..especially following some one like Bush…and not only to have to try and put everything back in place, which he can do….but to have to deal with the racist americans..OMG

Dr.Schultz   July 26th, 2008 8:18 pm ET

Hello CNN (that is OBAMA NEWS NETWORK ), your frenzy all about Barack Hussein Obama is unbeleivable. Your stories really suck. He goes around on tax payers' money and he wants Lord to protect HIS FAMILY AND HIM - not a word about the NATION or American Peoples. How self - centered he is! Does any one know WHO HE IS??? Coming to "Black in America", you conveniently left out the RICHEST woman in America OPERAH, richest and suceesful sportsmen like WOODS, JORDAN, successful black rock stars etc. and moreover one of your Blacks is almost inaugerated as the PRESIDENT by the crazy media. So, what is the need for your docommentary NOW? Trying to dump McCain - like you ,merciless media dumped HILLARY??

He'll have a chance to rest. The Olympics are coming up, and that'll be the news media's focus.

To all the people complaining about the media's coverage of Obama while ignoring McCain, the media has always loved McCain. They had a barbecue at his house the weekend after he clinched the nomination. But he had a chance to grab media attention while the Democratic nomination was going on. What'd he do? Nada. He could've swiped coverage from Obama during this world tour. Did he do that? Nope. If he's losing the media coverage battle, it's only because he pooched it.

But, you know, keep pretending it's a conspiracy or something until the men in white coats come to take you away. It really says a lot to how well you're paying attention.

Obviously the media has forgotten the real americans who are tired and take vacations, unlike jerks like obama who work all the time and make a big deal about taking a vacation.

I'm glad that CNN chose to report on this so it didn't get buried.

Jennifer from Atlanta   July 26th, 2008 8:08 pm ET

Obama's been goping nonstop since last year! He went straight from the primaries into the general election mode without a real break. Then you have McCain who takes every weekend off. It would be nice to have a president who WORKS HARD for the American people as opposed to someone rolling around in a golf cart or wandering through chesse aisles all the time.

Slash   July 26th, 2008 8:07 pm ET

Obama could spend the next several months at the beach and he'd still win in a landslide. McCain is kicking his own butt more than enough for Barack to take a well-earned break.

I'm happy Obama is working so hard during this campaign. He has worked harder in the last 6 months than this lazy moron in the White House has in 71/2 years!! His first 6 months in office were spent taking frequent trips to that little ranchett of his in Texas goofing off!

Lamine Sako   July 26th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Why does CNN's Lou Dobbs hate Obama?

Ron Allen   July 26th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Republicans are complaining about a slanted press toward Obama or is the press doing what they do, go after the most popular story? The European press who preceded the American press didn't promote Obama. It's the American press the Republicans are talking about. But the Germans have a real interest in the guy demonstrating that interest to the tune of 200,000 which is more than Reagan or Kennedy when they talked to the Germans as presidents. 83% of the Japanese and 70% of Australians follow the American presidential campaign because Obama is a flashpoint and interesting to the world. The press coverage isn't igniting this interest. The appearance and demeanor of Obama is. I don't know if he will make it to the Presidency. I'm uncertain as to what is good for the nation. What seems clear to me is that international interest in Obama is genuine and seems not to be predicated on the press.

Scott, West Chester OH   July 26th, 2008 7:58 pm ET

A day at the beach will make Obama an expert in oceanography, just like a week abroad made him an expert in foreign policy. How do you spell UNQUALIFIED? O-B-A-M-A.

It's my turn to complain.
Not about Obama or McCain, both good men, but about the awareness level of some of our voters. All one has to do to gage the number of closed-minded people is read some of the negative comments here. It seems some only know the bumper stickers and one-liners. From that, they decide the future of our country. The voters scare me more than the candidates. Obama has a lot to offer. Open up and try to find out why he's creating such a stir. It's not just fancy speeches.

Don't worry Fredd McCain will get more (negative) press the next time he votes AGAINST better Veteran's health care - which seems to be the only time he votes at all!

Over the span of only a few days time

It’s time for Obama to be President of the States
And change the politics of usual shady deals
Rampant in Washington in the recent time
That turns away too many from active partaking

Don Colony14Author, Peruibe, Brasil   July 26th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

This is news? What a suck-up puff piece! The media continues to run stories like this, and then has the nerve to say it is "objective." What nonsense! Earlier today one CNN anchor (I believe it was Colleen McEdwards) noted that Obama had visited eight countries in eight days, and then felt obligated to add, "Incredible!" Well, maybe it was a tough job for the pilots and the security staff, but I doubt the wonder-boy carried his own luggage. (He probably didn't even pick out his own neckties… leaving that for a staffer and a focus group.)

I know you folks in the news are drooling at the thought of putting the most liberal (if not socialist) candidate in history into the White House, but could you at least stop drooling on Obama directly? it's starting to look pretty pathetic - and don't be surprised if it ends up working against him. (I'm thinking of selling bumper stickers that read, "Annoy the media, vote for McCain!")

Of course, we conservatives (left without a candidate at all) will have the last laugh, after Obama screws things up so badly that he will become the most hated President in history, prompting the election of a conservative Congress in 2010. At that point, the media will have even more sour faces than they had when Bush beat Gore and Kerry.

Laura   July 26th, 2008 7:43 pm ET

Jeepers, leave the poor dude alone! He's just trying to find his way like everyone else. He's no hero, he's no saint, he's no demon, he's no fool. Everybody wants to make him one or the other, and the truth is, he's neither. He suffers from the same insecurities and fears all of us suffer. The difference is, he's willing to admit it, and willing to listen and learn. That by itself is a stellar trait, and almost non-existent in politicians. I think he's the best candidate for president we're ever likely to see in this generation, and it's time to get real and quit doing this drug trip thing we're doing!

Brian G Iwakiri   July 26th, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Fred, what hard hitting bricks should they be throwing at Obama right now?

It was John McCain who capitulated on Time "Horizons" and co-opted Obama's position on Afghanistan.

McCain continually made the mistake of confusing Shi'ite Iranians for Al-Qaeda operatives.

McCains CHIEF ECONOMIC ADVISOR (the man responsible for filling in the huge gaps in McCain's knowledge of the economy) believes that the current financial troubles that Americans are having is nothing more than a figment of our imagination.

You reap what you sew. John McCain sold-out to GW in '04 and hired all the people responsible for lambasting him in 2000. If he had remained the voice of Independence and not reversed on a number of issues people would still respect the man. As is, John McCain is just another casualty of GW's administration…a sad reminder of what the Republican Party can do to a good soldier.

Get real people   July 26th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

I've said it over and over again and I will say it one more time. Obama's lead in the polls doesn't look so impressive given how much the dems have blamed the repubs for being screw ups. His lead should be more than 20 points now and it isn't. There are still a lot of people not buying Obama's story and I think it's going to be closer in November than people think.

Former US Soldier   July 26th, 2008 7:24 pm ET

I am sorry but Obama is starting to look like a serious wanna-be,

First it was the presidential seal of presumption, now he looks like a severe rookie next to President Hamid Karzai and Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki, and he looks like a little boy sitting in the helicopter on next to General David Petraeus.

He is personable and likable, but if elected this kid will get chewed up on the international scene.

The American people have great intuition in this things, that why there is no poll bounce here. He should have stayed home, in the more civilized softer environment he looks fine. (like Europe)

Obviously we know John McCain has been tested in the severe environment that is found in many nations we have to engage. It does get any tougher than being tortured by them. I think we need to consider that Europe is not Iraq, or China, or Iran. While it is important to engage our allies, we need to be able to deal with those countries who are more of the rough and tumble sort.

I don't think that calling McCain 'McWar' as some have really cuts it. Does anyone really think that someone who was a POW for 6 years is really all about war. Let me tell you the difference between President Bush and John McCain, since everyone wants to know what it is. When it comes to commander in chief John McCain actually knows what he is doing. John McCain was an actual soldier who saw combat. Mr. Bush was a periodic Air National Guard wanna-be.

When it comes to being Commander in Chief it is OBAMA that is like President Bush, a military wanna-be sitting in a chopper with General Petraeus just trying to look like he knows what he is doing.

Just to let you all know who are harping on the economy, if our enemies have their way with us, we won't have any economy to worry about fixing. Think about it.

Independents, for example, I basically don't care about them because they are Independents. So, whatever my boy brings with that, that's cool(to tell you the truth, I think most Independents like Senator McCain because……..well, you know, LOL!!). I'm not gonna lie but I think Independents like McCain better than my boy because like some people say, my boy wants to have "parties", LOL!!! Congrats! Obama. You made us all proud to be Americans! Now we can see clearly what is needed. The choice is between a man who is clearly unstable and thus, unfit to serve as president… and you… a textbook example of leadership. Thanks!

Fred, go home to Fox and watch your own brand of crap. There's some great video of your guy's majestic campaign activities this week - talking to two people in a grocery store and knocking over a bunch of cans in the process, riding around with W's daddy trying unsuccessfully to look younger than somebody, talking about Czechoslovakia to show off his deep understanding of foreign policy, eating German sausages and whining that he would only make a speech in Germany as PRESIDENT not a candidate. But nobody would turn out to hear him either way.

Ok guys watch this: The McCain campaign criticizes Obama for beginning to put in place a transitional team and accuse him of being presumptuous.

Now when McCain is asked about this issue he says the elections are close and so its only okay for any party looking forward to taking over the reigns of Government to begin to prepare for it.

Another one, McCain was asked in 2007 what he would do if a sovereign Iraqi Government asks the United states to leave Iraq and this is what he said: That the United states would leave if they are asked to do so.

Fast forward to friday July 25 2008 when Wolf Blitzer asked McCain the same question and draws his attention to recent indications by the Maliki administration that they are in favour of a time table for the US withdrawal from Iraq and what did McCain do.

He sidesteps the question and calls Maliki a typical politician who is just saying so because Iraqi elections are near.

When he was pressed further he came around and said the would work with a "time horizon" but it should be based on conditions.

folks are you beginning to see the contradictions in the McCain campaign?Just attacking for the sake of it.

John McCain is accusing Obama for travelling abroad to address world leaders.Meanwhile McCain undertook a similar tour to Mexico,Colombia,Canada, Iraq, Afghanistan and the UK.

Are you seeing the double standards in the MaCain Campaign and the mix message?

Hey CNN…if I've already said this then make it show up on the blog!!!

All you so called Democrats who say you won't vote for Obama had better be prepared to explain why you won't vote for a black man for president. All you Independents who say you won't vote for Obama had better look at the last seven and a half years under George W. Bush and decide if you want four more years of this, and be prepared to explain why you won't vote for a black man for president.. All you Republicans who say you will hold your nose and vote for McCain had better decide if you are better off today than you were seven years ago, and be prepared to explain why you won't vote for a black man for president.

Bottom line - of the candidates who will be on the ballot in November, this white middle-aged, southern, retired military man thinks that Obama is the best one to lead this country back to where we were prior to Newt Gingrich and George W. Bush. This isn't about party or race: this is about the country and it's citizens.

Calling CNN a suck up. But they posted McCain's attacks all week. Is that what we want a President that has NO humility, respect, nor honor for his opponent . There should have been no attacks while Obama was abroad, But Mccain couldn't even stay on message because it was attack… SURGE, SURGE, SURGE, SURGE.. Just a realistic question? Are we at war with Iraq? or are we occupying Iraq? the Iraq military has been disarmed for years but we call this a war.. Tribal conflicts and AlQaida stirring the pot does not add up to a war. Those are facts. 150,000 plus troops. Billions of American dollars gone for what? We should have left when they captured Saddam and went to get Bin Laden. McCain has missed managed this entire week as well as his campaign. He does not deserve to be President even if he is a Hero. Judgment counts totally McCain. He seems war hungry more then anyone. So bash bash and Surge Surge. Americans are paying attention. The World is paying attention. Respect needs to be earned not forced. CNN keep reporting if it is good or bad for either Candidate. The voters will figure it out.

A Latte Lover, Seattle, WA   July 26th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

It's jet lag Senator Obama, beyond that, you have been going non-stop on the campaign trail without a break. We are all anxiously awaiting your return. McCain has made this campaign all about the SURGE SURGE SURGE, more SURGE, and did I mention the SURGE….SURGE SURGE SURGE SURGE SURGE. Yes, Iraq is important, but I think the top issue is the ECONOMY. I know it is with me! I think all McCain knows about (well sort of) is the SURGE….

If you want to go to one of the most beautiful beaches in the US, IMO, the world, Senator, go to Destin, FL….Before someone decides they should drill there! You won't regret it!

Europe has made a clear statement to the world. " obama is the new deal for the much needed american and EU corperation" now Americans can take the opportunity and make the much needed repairs as the country keeps going down the drain with bush and his twin brother McCain whom I strongly respect.

Luke   July 26th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

Please take a look at the last several Ticker stories and explain how CNN is "hurling bricks" at McCain. Out of all the cable networks, I find CNN to be the most balanced. Fox News is full of rabid right-wingers. MSNBC is the 24-hour Obama Channel. CNN at least has some semblance of balance.

Nick from Syracuse   July 26th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

McCain is Bush Junior Junior - he wants to do everything Bush has been doing the past eight years. So that will probably include taking nice long vacations while Katrina victims are dying by the thousands.

Wake up McCain supporters, you're not voting for McCain you're voting for Bush's third term.

Garth   July 26th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

Obama has done more for the US in the "Fake World Tour Photo Op" as so stunningly put than Bush has done EVER. McCain would like to go to Europe, but no one really wants to talk to him, because he is just a different Bush.

Fake? I think Europe and most of the US want Obama because we are so tired of the cr** put out by Bush and McCain. We need this change more than ever. I think anyone who thinks they can survive 4 years of McCain is nuts. We need real leadership. If you think McCain is a leader then you have been brainwashed by the Bushies.

In fact. we need to do this if we want to remain a super power. We have GOT TO wipe out the stench of 8 years of the Bush regime.

Now come on home and debate McWhine. HE is the one who challenged you to go overseas and now all HE'S done is whine, whine, whine. I just want to know why some peopel find him more honest. If we can trust him, we can trust you.

I'm so tired of all the talk about Obama. He's not the only candidate in the race yet the media already sounds like he's our President. Shame on you CNN, Not everyone, despite your efforts, trusts this nut case. PLEASE, enough already. He doesn't represent anything I believe in and I will never respect him. President or not.

Brian   July 26th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Are you people really commenting on this. Its not news.

A Presidential Candidate is tired? OF COURSE. He is traveling around America .. I mean Europe…I mean the Middle East…I mean, wait, where is Obama? Is he campaigning in America and talking to Americans about our needs, concerns, about the Economy? Was he in D.C. when folks were voting on what to do with Fannie and Freddy?
Nope. He thought pictures and a concert in Berlin was the best place for him to be.

I am aware our international image is not great. But do we really need to be sending out Presidential candidates to Europe. Wait like everyone else and go speak to the leaders when you become President.

Until then, get some sleep, drink coffee and go to work like every other regular joe working in America.

Penelope   July 26th, 2008 6:31 pm ET

Obama didn't do diddly-squat while in the Senate and now, because he wants to be president, he decides to go on a world tour and look like he's already president. This guy knows exactly how to get people to think he's the best thing since sliced bread. Too many people are too easily swayed by him. I'm predicting a lot of people will be very sorry in 2009 should he win. I don't like McCain either, but am looking at this as the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. All I know about Obama is he wants to make change - he has yet to let me know exactly what he's going to change and how he's going to do it. Flowery speeches don't impress me.

Bulldog   July 26th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

CNN and the rest of the media have constantly spread McCain attack messages against Obama for the last two weeks. You need to wake up. If you don't like it just watch FOX news. They have nothing bad to say about McCain and nothing good to say about Obama. That should float your boat.

At this point in the political election season, I'm watching this Week in Politics. To John King, Candy Crowly, and the rest of the politcal crew, I can't encourage enough to remember the role of a journalist. It is not to be equal, it is not to be bullied by the Republican complaints, it is to report what you hear and see….even if what you report is positive for Obama and….not so much for McCain. Your job is not to equalize, it is to render.

Good luck in getting out of the Republican groove and back to a sturdy self confidence ….you've got to report it as you see it.

And, to close, what's up with allowing the Republican spokespeople to rattle on, off subject, never responding to your actual questions?

Concerned Canadian   July 26th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

I would love Obama to visit Canada. He would be very welcomed by Canadians. America, I know you're not used to it but there's nothing wrong with an intelligent, charismatic, visionary leader that other world leaders would be excited to be able to work with. His visit overseas has affirmed this.
As much as your insular thinking likes to see yourselves as center of the universe, you do share this planet with many others and who you elect president has consequences across the globe. Other countries do not want to be dragged into the same sorts of messes President Bush created and would much prefer a thinking man be POTUS than an aging red necked war monger like McCain.
Imagine what you could have done to help your citizens with all that money you spent on the war. It's a disgrace.

Miranda Smith   July 26th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

I'd love to vote for Obama, however I'm afraid he's going to appoint the same incompetant Judges and FBI agents that have ruined New Orleans. Most appointed in the name of "racial justice", the rest we're owed a favor.

We do need change, and I really like Obama. However, like buying a car, I'd at least like a test drive. The problem is once he's elected the keys are in his pocket.

JERMAINE   July 26th, 2008 6:13 pm ET

I think CNN has been by far the most "fair and balanced" cablenews network. Republicans tend to think they are pro Mccain, why Dems think they are pro Obama. I think they have reported fairly on both canidates. In my opinion though, I think Obama has ran a much cleaner campain thus far. For Mccain to say Obama would rather lose a war to win a campain is a little off base. "It's remarkable!" as he would say over and over again. People get tired of that negative politics.

You forgot to include the most important part of the conversation:

Obama:"And the truth is that we've got a bunch of smart people, I think, who know ten times more than we do about the specifics of the topics. And so if what you're trying to do is micromanage and solve everything then you end up being a dilettante but you have to have enough knowledge to make good judgments about the choices that are presented
to you."

Fred, thanks for reminding us that the whole conservatives' victims culture is still here. "Bricks" at John McCain? The guy who doesn't know where Iraq is located in the Middle East (next to Pakistan, according to him) - if Obama had said that we'd be hearing about it 24/7. McCain the "i was against tax cuts for rich people before i wanted to make them permanent" - "i was against offshore drilling before I was for it" - "i was against waterboarding before i thought it was okay". Can you please play your pity party some more?

Can you imagine if Bush or McCain made a trip one fifth as good as Obama this week, how crazy the media would be?

For all the good feelings Obama got for America, Bush never did in 7.5 years, the media still criticizing Obama heavily. Crying media bias against McCain? What a joke?

Conservatives, wake up. You guys have chosen a loser, live with it. Do something good for the country! cheer for Obama.

Matt   July 26th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Same old rock star image for Obama as when he was running against Hillary. Is the media going to determine the next president? I feel there is no unbiased news media in this country, all news media have their own opinion.

Obama has no solid track record we only have his words, his speeches, his sweet talk. He will make the world a better place. Please wake up people. Get someone who can do the job and not someone who only talks the talk (although it would be nice after 8 years of bushed speeches).
Should we give him the benifit of the doubt? Maybe if we want to gamble with our furture for the next 4 years. It is almost easier getting a job as a president of the USA then any other job for which experience is required. If you want to get a job you at least have to bring a resume that shows experience and accomplisments. Where are Obamas list accomplisments? Media please focus on this?? Lucky I see that CNN has an article that Obama incorrecly claims membership of a senate committee. Do you think if I would go to a job interview and claim I am a member of a certain committee and it turns out I am not they will still hire me???

But then again I have to admit sometimes people with a rockstar image and no real experience can do good, just think about Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger they did or are doing good. So I hope that when Obama is elected he will at least have their succes.

Try spending a few years as a POW…and he's tired from a trip to the Middle East? Pleeeeeease.

Jeff, Huntington Beach, CA   July 26th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

All you Obama haters should take a hard look at the current Commander and Chief as well as McCain, who is your hope for the future. You are dillusional if you believe Bush and McCain, both born with silver spoons, connected fathers, and advantage galore measure up to Obama, a self made, intellegent individual. When will you morons get the message that you along with a bunch of us unwilling souls have been taken and will again be taken for a ride by the true "elitest" of this country?

But seriously… your ideas would be pathetically funny if there was not so much more to lose.

We need a guy with the physical strength and stamina to work on the mess we are in. We need someone who understands that what grows in the fields half a world away actually has an impact on what arrives at our shores and is sold in our streets. The real challenge is in Afganistan.

Respecting the sacrifice of our troops doesn't mean feeding more into the meatgrinder. It means risking their lives as parsimoniously as possible. 100 years in Iraq, my derriere!

Atleast he's working so hard. McBush gets weekends off and leaves all the fundraising to the RNC and his wife's portfolio.

Barack the vote, '08!

America is so proud of Barack Hussein Obama!

Mark   July 26th, 2008 5:48 pm ET

Fred McCain deserves the bricks to be hurled at him… the guy has no clue what the people of this country want, nor any clue how to adapt, overcome, and change his views..he is and apparently always will be nothing but a statue in his beliefs, when in reality people can, must and do change…

McCain deserves all the criticism he has gotten, and will continue to warrent it, as long as he keeps his path as Bush the 3rd.

David Cameron and Obama have a lot in common. Their both relatively young, and Cameron also became party leader despite being relatively inexperienced. They both rose to the top on change platforms. It will be interesting to see what sort of relationship they have if Cameron becomes British Prime Minister.

Bravo for Barack for not visiting the wounded soldiers. He was absolutely correct it would have been a media circus and these heroes did not need to be drawn into a political contest. When he is President he'll visit them.

Mike in Baltimore   July 26th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

John McCain is tossing the bricks in the air and letting them hit him on the way down.

Example: When he was in the supermarket the other day, he was standing in front of cases of Dole canned fruit.

Example: Is McCain for or against Bush's proposed changes to immigration law?

Example: Is McCain for or against off-shore drilling for oil?

Example: Is McCain for or against a time line for withdrawing our troops from Iraq?

Example: Does McCain think we've let Osama bin Laden escape for too long? What plans does he have to capture him? Does he think the situation in Afghanistan is OK? Or do we need to send more troops there to help the people and leadership of the country? And how many more troops - two brigades? Three brigades? No more troops are needed there?

Example: Does McCain think we should follow the wishes of the ELECTED leadership of Iraq on troop withdrawal, or the UNelected Iraqi military commanders?

The public is left with crap when the news organizations should be reporting on McCain's FLIP FLOPs. Yes, this year, the F-L-I-P F-L-O-Ping is being done by the Republican candidate.

Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop.

Its too bad there is no control of the Internet as bloggers think they can say anything anonomously. What did you people do before you were able to blog? If it were not for the fact that you can hide your name many of you would be sued. There is so much vitriol on these blogs. McCain is angry because he wanted a free ride to Europe. He thought Obama needed him to hold his hand and show him around. This is from an eighty-year old white female who has been following the primaries since Hillary Clinton and Obama were the last two Democratic candidates left.

Denise Groves   July 26th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

I agree. he needs to come off the campaign trail and spend time with his wife and daughters. He is starting to age from the stress of it all.
God knows we don't need another dead man walking on the campaign trail!

Kevin   July 26th, 2008 5:46 pm ET

If you really take in consideration what he is saying, he is a very intelligent person. Thats what I like about him. Also, his ability to sustain himself from atacking McCain for the stupidness he stands for. Being able to not personally attack a politician these days is a mircle. Theres a difference between pointing out the facts and differences than saying Barack Obama would rather lose a war to win an election.

Aliou FL for Obama   July 26th, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Obama said not a bad word against McCrybaby during all this tour. Meanwhile, Mcabush questioned his patriotism.
What a mark of distinction!!!!!!!! This is a distinguished guy !!!! He belong to the best!!!
McSame has really disappointed every reasonable republican like my friend Tony.

Mc100 years war had made him ashamed this week. My friend Tony Kept saying that McCain will come up with some thing to remain relevant because he has the stage for himself while obama is away in the tour.

McComplains kept focussing on Obama and what a bad guy he was. My friend waited all week long to hear from McSame, nothing came. what a shame.!!!

Can't believe all the hype … When will this media bias end.

Netty   July 26th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

There's just one campaign that is hurling bricks ,smirking at pitiful jokes, and posting sick ads! .Who was one of the first senators to visit Walter Reed in 2005 when it was revealed to the world that our soldiers were in a decrepit facility. Who, along with Claire McCaskill introduced a bill to improve conditions in VA hospitals and provide more support for disabled vets? Barack Obama!! Where was Mr. America – McCain, when the facilities were going down hill during all his years in the senate ! He was busy with his lobbyist pals at the Sedona ranch!
