McCain hosts GOP allies at his Arizona cabin

Sen. McCain will use his cabin near Sedona, Arizona, to host several GOP leaders Saturday.

(CNN) - Sen. John McCain, who spent the week criticizing Sen. Barack Obama's trip to the Middle East and Europe, will host several top Republicans at his cabin outside Sedona, Arizona, later Saturday.

As many as 75 people are expected to attend a barbeque.

CNN's Dana Bash reported earlier this week that attendees would receive meetings and briefings from staff, including campaign manager Rick Davis, Saturday morning at a nearby Sedona resort where most will stay.

McCain often uses his creek-side cabin to hold intimate political events in a relaxed setting. He told reporters he hosted there this spring that making ribs on his large grill is one of his only means of relaxation.

A few months ago he hosted a group that included several would-be running mates - including former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.

Hr just lies and says anything! When is the media going to start picking apart McCain's constant lies?

Did you hear that song? Lie, lie, lie, ..lie lie, McCain. Sung to the tune of Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

I posted these questions for Mr. John McCain yesterday and still have not heard from anybody who would answer them:

Why do you stray away from your maverick stand?

Why do you now decide to support offshore drilling?

Why do you vote for Bush's tax cut for the wealthy?

Why do you reach out to Charles Wyly who you accused of being corrupt?

Why don't you back your own campaign finance reform?

Are you for or against Roe v. Wade?

Are you for or against ethanol usage?

Once again Mr. McCain, can you answer these questions?

Cooking ribs is one of his only means of relaxing? That explains a lot. Dude needs to chill, smoke a doobie, have a few cold brews, learn how to e-mail, cut that temper back a few notches.

I changed from "dems be dopes" to "libs be dopes" as the name was not really fair to many of my democratic friends I have. They are just as baffled by the lack of choices for this year's election.

We have a socialist dressing as a liberal and a liberal dressing as a conservative.

In most cases senators make poor choices as candidates as their job is, hmmmmmmmmmmmm, what is their job? They really don't do much but love to tell us what they have done. Their experience in running anything, or making hard decisions is lacking

They don't represent those that elected them but love to pander to those that did not.

Governovers generally make better candidates, they actually ran something, are held responsible by those that elected them.

i guess this is a chance for all of the Lobbyist running his campaign to tell McCain what his platform will be. it is a tragedy that we live in a country where stupidity is what some aspire to. i would venture to say IF Obama had blond hair and Blue eyes this race would be a done deal....and for all of you who are quick to think i a Black man is calling you racist, 65% of white people polled said race was a factor...so that's on you. let your ignorance, stupidity and hate further destroy our country and the world. john mccain has ONLY lobbyist interest not American interest.

Obama wants more divisions going to Afghanistan because that's where the enemy is. That's where they trained to attack us. That's where the War should have been fought all along. Nobody from Iraq attacked us. Iraq was GW's war of choice, Afghanistan is a war of necessity. No country should ever go to war the way we did in Iraq. If we had intelligence that showed they had wmd's we could have bombed the area(s) where they were. Instead we invaded the whole country and got burned by it.

    July 26, 2008 04:14 pm at 4:14 pm |

Wow no rock band? You mean your actually going to talk one on one to people who can actually do things in this country. Not to crowds of 200,000 people who can do nothing for us. Well played! I am an ex dem. I still may not vote for you, but definatly wont for Obama.

Another feeble attempt to capture the spotlight with talks of running mate announcement. This will not take anything away from Senator Obama's trip -– he had a GREAT week overseas. Monday will begin another GREAT week for the senator. Much Love Obama.

OK guys...what do I do now? Everything I throw at this guy Obama...he picks up and excels at. How am I supposed to win here?

Don't worry John...we will think of something.. The American people are sheep and we can lead them just as we have for the last 7.5 yrs. All we have to do is make them afraid. If we can make them afraid, we will win. We need to convince them they need to be afraid of him...he is too inexperienced...he is too egotistical...he is too diplomatic...he is too liberal...he eats arugula for God's sake...he can't be trusted...

I think once it can accomodate 75 people, it's no longer a "cabin."

He shouldn't feel left out, but grateful that Obama lost footing with a lot of American's who saw an over confident almost gloating Obama. Heck, the election isn't even until November and now I don't trust Obama anymore and feel that I am not alone. May common sense rein come the election. Last thing we need it a novice running the country.
