The longer this goes on, the more it becomes crystal clear that John McCain knows very little about anything, surrounds himself with people that are either evil or incompetent, if not both, and McCain has personal holes that indicate he'll never be any more on top of issues than he is now (ie limited intellect, out of date and ineffective policies, and a dangerous demeanor).

McCain = 2nd term for Herbert Hoover at BEST!

If McCain truly wanted to curtail the Economy, he would not be accepting Social Security...if he was a true American, and thought about the conditions of our Economy. With Millions at hand, does he really need Social Security. I would think that, with the Elderly Population that we do have, he might give SOME THOUGHT!!!

This letter is for Sen Obama. I was a Canadian who joined the US army and spent 6 yrs during Vietnam. My point is that since we have a problem with our shortage of enlistments why dont we put our ellegal young men into the army teach them english and if they serve 3yrs with honorable discharge, then they would be given cittizennship. For most of them the pay would be better and also their living conditions ,would be an improvement..

iI am looking forward to the debates..When they are sitting next to each other and give their viewpoints on the economy. It will be like night and day and McCain WILL lose that argument. Trickle down does not work. The rich have gotten over the last 7 years and the country is in a complete mess!!!

i am getting so sick of the media. The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, which has been studying the media 20 years, has now released a study that shows 72% of the opinions expressed on news networks about Obama were negative and 28% positive. For McCain the figures were 57% and 43%. How about you guys start covering obama with more fairness in respect to him, that made me sick looking at that study.

Nothing is wrong with teh economy. Look around hotels packed, beach resorts packed, airports packed, malls busting at the seams.
As for jobs leaving the country, well it is real simple workers in foreign countries will provide their services for a significantly lower wage than Americans. That's why you can afford to shop at Walmart.

Hopefully McCain will stop whining about what Obama is doing and stay on message.

He wasted an entire week when he got off message and focused on what Obama was doing. Perhaps that has contributed to Obama doing so well in the polls now.

I certainly hope the media starts asking McCain the hard hitting questions they've been asking Obama now for a while. McCain isn't going to explain anything on his own, he's only going to whine and complain - it's up to the media to ferret out what this guy really knows and what he doesn't.

Econonomy is number one issue that touch all lives, we need the candidate to focus more on the economy and not so much about who is more experienced. My observation so far is that the generally acclaimed experienced candidate lack originality in proposing solution to the economic hardship; but highly glutonised in flunting how many years he has been in the senate. Please give it up to the young, brainy couple with good judgement ;as we need all the boldness and energy that he to brings to bring the the change that benefits old and young.

It seems that McSame continues to criticize Obama on Iraq. I get it. That is because he wants a distraction from talking about the economy, so he makes this his number one priority, the war in Iraq. Why can't all the brilliant reporters see this?

To banderson

Are you actually trying to say the on-going Iraq War doesn't have a profoundly negative affect on the health of our Nation's economy? You cannot simply ignore that this illegitimate war which has been funded in large part by loans from other nations. You CANNOT logically separate the Iraq War from the poor state of our economy!

It took a reip to the grocery store with a working Mom for McCain to get a grasp on the cost to the consumer. But at least he was not in awe by the bar reader.

McCain's got a long ways to go to sell anything to the American people. Trickle down economics a bust, has been for 30 years. Cutting taxes so the wealth can reinvest their money is a bust, first if they reinvested it was not here, but they did get wealthier. Isn't everyone champing a the bit to be able and dump the money being wasted in Social Security in the stock market so they can make some real money. A 128 billion surplus into a 486 billion defiect, sounds like we need more tax cuts for the top 3%.

Why doesn't anyone call out McCain advisor Carly Fiorina for selling computers to Iran when she was head of Hewlett Packard. It's also funny that McCain picks her as an advisor, the CEO that was ousted by Hewlett Packard because of her poor performance. As soon as she left the company started posting profits once again and has turned around. Leave it up to McCain to pick a horrible CEO for advise.

This blog is usually reserved for comments, however i have a question that i think needs answering, what exactly are these so-called "values" some people have that they say are not reflected in Mr. Obama's candidacy for President? I am not surprised at the obvious double standard being held toward Obama but i really would like an intelligent answer to this question (if one exists), my instincts tell me that he is deemed unqualified because he has african blood in his viens and it has nothing to do with "values" at all. Prove me wrong, PLEASE prove me wrong.

Here's what I do know... Business that get tax breaks and other incentives do not have the trickle down effect. Greed is a pervasive attitude in our society and it's all about the bottom line. It is out of touch for the McCain camp to think that because businesses will do well, the workers will also do well .... NOT !!!!!

It's "every man for himself" mentality and those of us bearing the brunt of paying taxes so big Corporations can get tax breaks are fed up with this scenario and please tell those darn pundits to shut up... speaking on behalf of the American people as if they know what it's like. As a single mother raising two kids alone I will benefit far greater by tax credits or tax reduction as THAT puts immediate food in my kids' mouths.

Will someone in Senator McCain's camp please tell us "average" everyday Americans how his plan will help us? I'm talking about those that may rent vs own homes, don't play the stock market or have capital gains. How will his economic plan (which mirrors that of the current administration quite a bit) will help us?

I'm for free market, but unregulated free market (thanks Phil Gramm) has gotten us in this mess (except for the CEO's who make money even though their company goes under). He helped push the bill that allowed the housing mareket to make suspect loans (unregulated). he helped push the bill that allowed the Enron loophole. He also thinks we are "whining".

McCain has used this man for his economic policies. Even though he has resigned from the campaign, I bet he still is driving McCain's policy in the background.

Well McCain did say he will raise the income tax for all of you righty's who hate new taxes, seems to me that McCain is trying to let the real him, out. Too late McSwitch, nothing you can say or do now to get my support back. You pander to far to the right for me. Now you are learning why Hillary got her tail handed to her by a "new" guy on the block. In reality, neither McLost or Obama have a good enough plan to get us out of this mess. I guess the first step GWB recovery is to stop funding that civil war and let the regional countries handle their own mess and bring our troops home, the will save a few trillion. Oh, and quit bailing out Mortgage companies and those who knew they couldn't afford that loan they got, let them take thier lumps, they will recover, stupidity always does, and finally, get rid of the IRS and just have a flat tax therfore, there will be no such thing as tax breaks. See I just put us back in a surplus. Screw both of them....Mike in houston for president (laugh)

McCains jobs for america plan is real simple. Join the ARMY GO TO IRAQ AND DIE, so he can win the war. One question if we win in Iraq whats the prize and don't tell me peace in the middle east those people have been fighting since the begining of time and it will continue. I think McCain is so obsessed with winning in Iraq because we lost Vietnam and he got shot down and he wants to know what it feels like to be a winner. Regardles of the fact that winning will cost thousands of lives, Trillions of dollars and the respect of our nation, lets go win one for johnny.

Obama getting more coverage than McCain is like Brad-Angelina getting more coverage than a B-list celebrity couple. Brad-Angelina or other A-list celebrity couples get more coverage because the public is more interested in them, period. Brad-Angelia, for example, is an attractive couple, they promote just causes, they are smart, and they symbolize great best qualities. Obama is head and shoulders above McCain for many of these same reasons.

McCain-supporters and Obama-haters need to face a basic fact in life. People simply like Obama more and they have more interest in him because of who he is v. McCain. I do not buy into this old Demo-Primary, HRC-, reverse psycology campaign tactic, where you take Obama's outstanding qualities (that which you cannot compete and that which makes him a true leader), and you try to turn it against him in an effort to level the playing field. Nice try, but it does not work

Finally, since Senator Obama has returned from his fantastically successful middle east and european trip, we can have an intelligent conversation about his economic policies, rather than watching McSurge in the cheese aisle looking for cheese to go along with that "whine" of his! McSurge couldn't even keep his focus on the economy or anything else while Senator Obama was out of the country. The only thing he managed to have his campaign do, was put out a bunch of negative and false advertisement and lies about Senator Obama. I hope he feels as stupid as he looks on t.v., after having challenged Senator Obama to go to Iraq never expecting the great success that followed Senator Obama's trip to Iraq as well as all of the other places McSurge didn't expect him to go . Okay McSurge, we're waiting for YOU to come up with a solution to the economy and spell out YOUR policies, and not wait to hear and copy what Senator Obama's policy and solutions are. And please, by all means, can we have your economic policies while we are all STILL YOUNG! Especially, since you just today flip-flopped on your position on Social Security, and raising taxes to pay for it!

Economic issues are, and should be, at the heart of this election. Speaking of judgement and it's effect on our economy, who has consistently voted against the war?
Had we heeded the words of Obama before the invasion began, citing the lack of evidence of WMD's, the lack of credible evidence linking Hussein to Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. He recognized then as now, the real enemy is in Afghanistan...never was anywhere else. Perhaps we wouldn't be where we are today. He proposes that the Iraqi's make progress so that we can get out and stop this drain on our economy and our citizenry.
McClueless would have us all continue down this road to economic disaster pursuing war, paying $5. a gallon for gas and destroying our environment in the process.
McClueless = Huge Disaster
If you think w is bad, vote and elect McDaddy and you won't know what bad is for another year!

Looks like follow the leader to me is McCain strategy.

McCain had a week to talk economic but wasted it criticizing Obama.

McSurge, we can see your leadership skill; how you can win the war.

Your record is now telling on how you remained in congress for 25 years.

And now McCain wants to raise taxes to pay for the wars. I rather pay taxes to and honest man than a liar Johnny.

McCain had two weeks to establish his economic plan. Did he do so?NO. Now that Obama is back and going to start honing his plan, now watch McCain. He's not going to offer jack, just going to criticize Obama's. Now I bet the RNC are secretly saying, "How in h-ll did we wound up with McCain? I think we pulled a bo bo. They got to remember that McCain is damaged goods. They themselves damaged him when he was campaigning against "W".
Now another thing, have you noticed that everytime Obama get a bump in the polls, CNN come out with some Hillary BS. Obama is doing quite well without Bill or Hillary by his side, thank you.

"San Francisco values to me means that every child in our city has health insurance until they are 25 years old. San Francisco values say we don't have a minimum wage, we have a living wage. In San Francisco we respect the dignity and worth of every person and respect is the order of the day there. Issues like protecting the environment aren't issues for us -- they are values and ethics.

"I think they highlight them because they are the forces that are fighting health insurance for our children... they are the forces that are fighting increases in the minimum wage. So when they sort of use their winks and nods about San Francisco values, they are talking about the fact that we respect our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. But what they are really afraid of is economic justice.

"Someone showed me a letter they sent out the other day -- this is how pathetic they are -- on the cover in bold black pen, like a quarter of an inch thick, across the page of this fundraising letter, it said 'Nancy Pelosi Wants You To Die.' It looks just like a letter. Imagine if you were to get something like that in your home. It is very threatening. They are bankrupt. The Republicans are bankrupt. They have no ideas about the future, they are agents for the status quo, thank god there are a few of them that vote with us on the issues."

To all talking about McCain not knowing anything about the economy.

McCain said to lift ban on offshore drilling, president bush fallowed suit and lifted the executive ban. Since that date the fallowing has happened.
1. price of gas is down
2. price of decile is down
3. price of heating oil is down

the Obama contributions, 0. He has done nothing that has changed the market. Is that change we can believe in?

I LOVE IT!! I hope John McCain STAYS the course responding to the media's questions with nothing but ignorant, lame and unwarranted over the top in stupid answers! The more he talks...the higher Obama's rating goes. And I hope his VP Nominee...hopefully Mitt Romney will push America to place McCain's popularity one notch above "W". I hope McSame UNDERSTANDS before Alzheimer's really gets the best of the poor old guy.
