I am drawn to the presidential election coverage on CNN. There are so many things that I have been hearing about Obama and McCain that is hard to decide on whom to vote for in this upcoming election. As a person of faith in the Gospel, there are some moral concerns that I disagree with Obama. Then again, I'm not too impressed with McCain's overall tactics and possible deception to win voters (although he did attend the NAACP in Cincinnati which did raise one of my eyebrows). The point that I'm trying to make is CNN (in my opinion) has been doing a better job informing viewers about the two presidential candidates. Fox news lost me when I felt that they were attacking Obama about every little thing. I understand that the media has a role to report the 'news', but I had noticed the extended airtime that Fox news reported on Obama's character being reported for questioning. I started to think that maybe Fox new is not being 'fair' and balanced. I started to QUESTION if Fox news was subliminally being racist by covering up bias intentions of Obama's flaws (that are not even proven because of his Christian faith). There is a well-known pastor that I like to listen to that favors Fox news. This particular pastor admires the coverage that has been reported on Obama. Whether or not Fox news motives were unintentional, their method on reporting has not impressed me lately. I might watch one particular anchorperson from Fox news, but any other coverage I watch on CNN. CNN has more diversity as far as people reporting. It is not just a black person or a white person reporting on the weekdays, there are many other ethnic people that I see on CNN… And that is the reason why I have switched over to watching CNN more. In addition, CNN news has reported the news accurately to my knowledge. I'll continue to watch CNN as long as the coverage is accurate and it is not showing complete partiality.

My personal experience confirms Obama is correct when he says "I’m new on the national scene and people sort of like what they see but they’re still not sure."

Until early this year, I knew relatively little about Obama, other than that he gave a great speech at the 2004 Convention and opposed the foolish invasion of Iraq.

Since then I've followed Obama's campaign closely. I've listened to his speeches, watched his debates, learned about his biography, heard his intelligent answers to difficult questions, and observed how he managed people and crises.

I do not make hasty or uninformed decisions. I've grown to appreciate and support Obama and believe he has the potential to become one of our greatest presidents and likely Time magazine's "Person of the Year!"

Calling on Presidential Candidate Barack Obama Supporters who have not yet been involved in helping to get Obama Elected pick up some voter registration forms and register 10-20 new voters. usually some forms would be in all postoffices and libraries. If supporters throughout the United States would do just that much it will help to put Obama over the top in November 4 08 register family members and friends, strangers. many public markets will allow you to set up a table on the storefront sidewalk or walk the block in your neighborhood during the day. Great excercise.

Al Gore and John Kerry were winning by the polls and look what happened. Until voters go into that both and select their choice no one can say who is winning. Obama may think he is winning. As far as fund raising how many of these bundlers are lobbyist in sheeps clothing and his special interest, lawyers, unions, and radical enviromentalist can call themselves individual but they are still doing the donating as a group for their own special interest access.

I will agree with that headline. I feel very good for the people of the United States.
We WILL have a president we can trust and believe in and the rest of the world will love us as well.

Thank you for the hope you have given us.
at the end of the day sometimes hope is all you have to hold on to!

He has every reason to be optimistic, The days of the republicans in the white house are over for a long time. Like with Bob Dole, the Republicans have given the year they know they have no chance of winning to the old guy who means well but just doesnt have the energy to run a competitive campaign, Mcain knows he has no chance. OBAMA 08/12 !!

I wonder what the Vegas odds are on him winning... McCain is obviously the long shot!! You can probably get 100:1 odds on McSame. You can probably even get odds on Dubya figuring out a way to squeak out a third term.

Best to put your money on Obama... he's a sure thing!!

For anyone who's watched this race, I mean truly watched this race putting aside all racist, bigoted views, it would be hard pressed to find an eaiser choice than barack obama. John mccain is a laughable opponent. With all of his gaffes: forgetful grandpa moments, botchng info pretaining to Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan. HIs stance on Roe v Wade, Affirmative Action. His lack of understanding on the Economy etc, etc....The list goes on and on. Then we see Barack looking like one of the greatest presidential candidates in 40 years, making us look good abroad, bringing people together, smart, intellegent, not forgetfull 99.9 percent of the time, kind, temperate, strong, and we critisize him over every thing he does. He's got the media vetting him by bashing everything he does, we got the repubs bashing him, and we even have hillibots who are still pouting over the fact that hillary blew it bashing him. The whole world loves Barack, but "some" in america still can't fathom the idea of having a black president, so once again we may have to settle for "billy bob" because "they" don't want any admiration going to anyone but them. The problem is this. A selected few have always picked our leaders, and until that selected few becomes fewer, we'll have close elections like this when they shouldn't even be in the ball park. OPEN YOUR STUPID EYES "FEW" AND VOTE FOR THE OBVIOUS PICK"! DON'T BE STUPID LIKE YOUV'VE ALWAYS BEEN AROUND THIS TIME, AND VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO'LL DO GOOD FOR THIS COUNTRY.

Yes Obama...your odds of winning are overwhelming....and I, for one, am voting for you. Just a word of caution....please...select Hillary for your VP....you will need honest feedback....not YES people, but a person who can, and will, tell it like it is. The two of you together will rule! You would be untouchables...as far as winning the GE.

As a Canadian, I feel that the US just does not get it. Omama wants to open NAFTA, which will allow Canadians to pull out of the North Americam energy security agreement. He is going to pull out of Iraq
and leave the oil fields for others, while talking about reducing the price of gas in the USA.

You got to be kidding, right!!!

It's not arrogance, it's not being cocky, it's not being presumptuous. It's called revving up your base of supporters.
Had he said this while overseas, or to a general audience, then yes. This would be rather "bold" of him.
But speaking to people who have money in their pockets that you're trying to get and telling them your odds are very good are really no different than a screenwriter asking a producer (probably not the right title but you should get the point) to invest in his/her movie.
Or, even a major corporation on a financials conference call saying how well their product line is being received (and therefore people should invest more into the company).
So, before people really get it twisted, he's revving his audience up to make sure they continue to support his candidacy.

I hope Obam will win this election.
McCain is such a lier, always telling lies on Obama.
He says he is with the troops, and Obama is not, but is was McCain that voted and sent these youg soldiers to a war that should not have been.

McCain was taunting Obama, that he have not experience in over seas.
Obama goes over seas, and get a very good reception. McCain hated that, because he did not received such a reception.

McCain acts like a 3 year old when they are not being paid a lot of attention, so he makes up stories to turn the public away from Obama, with his terrible lies.
McCain travelled over seas too, so why his he not mentioning that?
OBAMA, OBAMA, OBAMA. FOR THE WHITE HOUSE

Pride comes B4 a fall! :) And, Obama is the most arrogant, egomaniac around!

The USA Today/Gallup poll has McCain leading Obama by four points, 49 percent to Obama's 45 percent, among likely voters.

Obama will lose big time!

McCain 08, the candidate with character and integrity! :)

As long as the media keeps letting Obama get by with reading every word he says the arrogant inexperienced man will keep fooling people. Some of us see Obama for what he really is an empty suit with a prepared speech.

This is a very intelligent man. I would bet on his campaign against McCains in a minute. In fact smart money INTRADE quotes has him as the projected winner63.2 to 32.5. His brillant orgainization upset the Clinton machine and left it 24million in the red. McCain's campaign is no Hillary. It's not even close. McCain is losing the Electoral College Map 322-216. To put that in further perspective if Obama lost in KY,TN,WV,MS,AL,LA,and AR states with a conbined 54 Electoral votes he would still have more votes by winning California with it's 55. He is leading in Calfinoria by 18 points. If he also lost MT,ID,WY,ND,SD,NE,KS,UT,AZ and SC his Electoral total would not change. Obama leads in NY with 31 votes by 19 points and in IL with 21 votes by 20 points for a total of 52 Electoral votes.

McCain has a lot of work to do. His feeble campaign has a lot of work to do. Granted it's a marathon but in this maraton smart money is on 46 year old guy. The 72 year old guy -NOT

Well this was a very informative article and I as a 13 year old African American man I clearly believe that Senator Barack Obama"s odds of winning are high. Barack Obama is clearly the person that should be the next president of the United States. He certainly has my vote!
