Whenever some article comes up about polls, I always think the same thing "They never asked me." Where do they find these people. Oh by the way, personal opinion, Swing voters and people who are undecided at this point are just plane stupid

.....let the games (desperate, kitchen-sink, below the belt, personal attacks) begin!!!! McSame and the Rethuglicans will stop at nothing.......and about "the surge"....Obama was agains the start of the war (which McSame supportedb/c the initial and only purpose was to find WMDs – ).....WHICH DID NOT EXIST. Now Obama – and Iraqi Gov't – are for withdrawal.......who has the better judgement and who looks and acts more presidential.....the choice is clear.

Bring on the debates! Grandpa Munster will stumble over his words, forget his geography (again) and balame the media for the bad press he'll get for it.......wake up Independents and make the right choice.

With the mood of the country one would think that Obama would be the obvious poll leader. Given that, a poll of polls 6% lead is weak. Especially when you consider that the poll of polls number does not seem to factor in the +or – margin of error that is calculated with the individual pools.
As I read through this and many other blogs with amusement, it is clear that many bloggers are not really listening to what the canditates are really saying. Many seem to reduce the candiate that represents the party they oppose, to a derogitory name and some sort of exageration of their stand on an issue(s). The truth is both presidential canditates are expressing clear ideas and plans on all the issues. There is actually a lot of commonnality on their stands along with some siginificant differences. Is is possible that the polls are as close as they are because the majorty of the population is really listening and finding real value in both canditates? Is it possible that blogs are just for idots who want to sound off? Thank God that Obmana is not really as bad and the Republicans claim and the McCain is no where near as bad as the Democarats claim. They both are a breath of fresh air and should be listened to with an open mind. We are all Americans and want what is best for the country and it's people, Republicans, Democrates and Independents alike. Wake up, there is no bad guy, except the idots that want only their way and hate anyone who they don't agree with.

I don't believe your polls anyway. And a trip to the middle east DOESN"T make him any more experienced on foreign policy. Maybe someday we can elect someone who is REALLY experienced and capable. I don't expect to live that long due to the fact that the people who will be running for office in the future are the same idiots that are voting for Obama.

Someone needs to remind people that 8 years ago Bush ran on a change ticket and not a Washington insider...Look what that got us.

The bump in the polls probably came from McCain's criticism of Obama for not going to the middle east being promptly followed by criticism of his trip. I'm glad that Americans are actually paying attention this time around.

Actually, that 1-point lead according to Fox News is probably a gratuitous attempt to appear at least somewhat unbiased. Nothing that comes from Fox “News” can be considered legitimate, so their poll is meaningless. Obama is our next President.

What I can't understand is why the poorest states in the union always vote republican. Especially when all the republicans do is lie to them about what they are going to do and guess what, they never do. Leaving those states in the worse shaped as any in the union, while the rich gets richer. Secondly, why would people rather cut off their nose just to spite their face. Most Americans know that electing McCain will be bad for the country because he will favor Bush policy and you see where that has gotten us, but they would rather do that than to elect a black man. These are the two dumbest things that make us uniquetly American!

I agree that these polls are useless because you don't win by popular vote but by electoral votes. The other problem is that the state polling isn't update regularly and is done pretty bad. We won't know anything for sure until after the first debate or so.

The reason for Obama's bump may have been the overseas trip, but when the media only talks about Obama and never about McCain, that also tends to give him a bump. McCain needs to step it up if he expects to win.

I wonder why when interviewed the press asks McCain tough questions and asks Obama fluff, like are you going to visit a mosque?
We all know the answer to that one. Obama doesn't know how to answer a tough question directly because he doesn't know anything. He just talks in circles and changes the subject after umming and ahhing awile.

If you want higher taxes by all means Obama is your man (already said he is rasing taxes for all who make 30,000 and over). I will not vote for a man who believes somehow people have a right to what others earn. Keep your hands out of other people's pockets.

Polls and surveys are only as accurate as the questions asked; tilt the questions one way and you get and positive viewpoint, tilt the same questions the other way, and you get a negative viewpoint.

Personally, I refuse to participate in polls when I get called, and I have been called several times by several pollsters.

In the end, polls should be taken with a crate, or two, of salt.

I can't believe there are so many out there who want their wallets emptier. They seem to think its only "others" who will be paying 60% of their wages to the tax man and not themselves. Oh, well, with the lose of jobs and their pension funds I guess they don't care as long as they have their HOPE.

I read the questions for the Fox news poll. Some of them were along the lines of "Do you think Senator McCain is more qualified to be President because he has a long and illustrious career in the Senate following his time as a POW and true patriot or do you think Senator Obama is more qualified to be President because he is only a one term Senator and many Americans believe he is Muslim?"

I'm exaggerating, but not by much.

The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, where researchers have tracked network news content for two decades, found that ABC, NBC and CBS were tougher on Obama than on Republican John McCain during the first six weeks of the general-election campaign.

You read it right: tougher on the Democrat.

During the evening news, the majority of statements from reporters and anchors on all three networks are neutral, the center found. And when network news people ventured opinions in recent weeks, 28% of the statements were positive for Obama and 72% negative.

Network reporting also tilted against McCain, but far less dramatically, with 43% of the statements positive and 57% negative, according to the Washington-based media center.

This is good news for the country and for the troops. I voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004. He has let us down. Our economy is in shambles. He has completely mismanaged the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where is bin Laden? He must be caught and brought to justice. Iraq is not a threat to the US anymore and we should get out immediately. We should invest in alternate energy sources and implement Boone Pickens plan to drive down the cost of energy. I don't think McCain will do any of this. Last week he said he wants to drill more and this week oil company executives and owners have contributed to his campaign. He wants to stay in Iraq without a plan for improving the situation and getting out of there. He has no plan to win against Alqaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Fox poll? It almost always gets results that somehow are in the Republican's favor. Of all the polls out there, we should always take the results of this self proclaimed "fair and balanced" entity with a grain of salt. Obama will win, and probably with a landslide. When 80% of the American people feel the country is heading in the wrong direction, I seriously doubt they want four more years of Bush disaster!

McCain..the so-called experienced military leader and patriot who claims to understand the workings of the militrary and to care about the soldiers and know how to fight a war...where was he when:
1.Rumsfeld sent the solidiers into Iraq with no plan on what to do after "shock and awe"?
2. the White House failed to equip the soliders, even to the point that their parents often had to buy and send in the proper equipment and where thousands and thousands of our soldiers came home maimed often beyond recognition in consequence of being so ill equipped?
3 when Walter Reed hospital failed them and their parents?
Read the book, Fiasco, and tell me what McCain did in all those years to improve the situaton..what was his contibution to much incompetence with the Bush White House often even overrode the military by lack of support of the troops...

Since B. Hussain Obama is running for the "President of the World" including the Middle East and Europeans, why bother CNN's Polls of Polls? The media is always right, isn't it? When polls show that McCain's number is parallel with Obamas, the media will say the pools are wrong. Conversely, when Obama's number is ahead only by 2 points, the media will say Obama is blowing McCain away. Which number is right, just let the media decides. All I can say is that Obama is a phoney man, who is very good for selling cars. Americans are better to be aware of what you wish for electing Obama. It will be very scary!

Polls are nothing more than a frigging lie. Polsters make polls say what it is they want the public to believe.
What counts is the number of people that cast votes on November 4th, then how the electoral college numbers tally from that nation wide vote.
