(CNN) - Former president Bill Clinton earned $10.1 million in 2007 from paid speeches, according to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s U.S. Senate financial disclosure reports released Wednesday.

Clinton delivered a total of 54 paid speeches in 12 states, the District of Columbia, and 11 countries. His haul from speaking fees for 2006 was $10.2 million.

His most expensive address was delivered on August 14, 2007, in London to AEG, a Los Angeles-based entertainment company, for $425,000. The former president earned $150,000 for 31 of his 54 speeches and an overall average of $186,759.26 per speech. He did not deliver any paid speeches for less than $100,000 in 2007.

The groups he addressed last year include large companies, such as General Electric (delivered on January 13 for $150,000) and Goldman Sachs (delivered on March 1 for $150,000); civic organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles (delivered on March 6 for $150,000); and media organizations, such as TVLand (delivered on March 23 for $150,000) and KCBS Radio in San Francisco (delivered on April 14 for $150,000).

Just over half of Clinton’s income from paid speeches came from overseas. He earned a total of $5,150,000 from speeches in 10 countries: Canada (six speeches for a total of $1.1 million); Denmark (three speeches for a total of $790,000); Great Britain (2 speeches for a total of $595,000); Germany (one speech for $250,000); Greece (one speech for $300,000); Hungary (one speech for $275,000); Korea (one speech for $150,000); the Netherlands (one speech for $250,000); Norway (three speeches for $870,000); and Sweden (two speeches for $595,000)

Where do you think Obama gets his money???? Renko

At least Bill is working for his money.

How much did Obama pay those bands in Germany to put on that show so that he could be seen standing there with 200,000 people that really came to see a free concert and enjoy free beer and brauts paided for by the Obama campaign.

So, maybe it's just me, but why the heck is the Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles shelling out $150,000 for Bill (or anyone) to speak? Shouldn't that money be used to help the organization?

Their mission: Boys & Girls Club values providing quality educational and recreational experiences to all children and youth from the communities of Northeast Los Angeles (from their website)

Maybe I'm off my rocker here....

Maybe Hillary should ask Bill to start speaking more......because he is going to have to speak a tremendous amount to resolve her 25 million campaign debt.......and that price tag is enough to "choke" any speaker......and what does he have to say to [anyone] at those prices? He might make a good CNN pundit.

I am happy for Bill and voted for him and Hillary. What a pair of real Americans who will defend our values. Unlike obama who will dis our values.

Obama is the riskiest candidate we have ever had for the office of POTUS.

He does not share your values and will re-energize the welfare system. Why else would 95% of the African Americans support his candidacy.

Former President Clinton made over 10 million dollars from speeches. Who paid the bill for the Secret Service protection during these speeches?

HILLARY IS BEGGING POOR PEOPLE LIKE US TO HELP PAY HER DEBT OFF, IS SHE INSANE. IF I WAS OBAMA I WOULD KEEP RIGHT ON GIVING SPEECHES, IF THEY PAY WHAT BILL IS MAKING.

HILLARY, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAME OF ASKING YOUR SUPPORTERS TO HELP PAY YOUR DEPT OFF, ASK BILL.

MOST OF SUPPORTERS FOR OBAMA AND HILLARY IS POOR AND HAVING A HARD TIME, OBAMA STOP ASKING YOUR SUPPORTERS TO HELP PAY HILLARY DEBTS OFF, WHEN HER HUSBAND IS MAKING MILLIONS.

  17. California Delegate for Senator Clinton

President Clinton has earn it, he should be paid more as he was the President that got us out of the first President Bush mess and got our economy back where it should be today.

I believe those who are always saying negative comments about him and Hillary are just jealous of them.

Glad to be a strong supporter of the Clintons and honor to be a Pledge Delegate for Seantor Clinton from California.

Considering what he did for this country (i.e. 22 million jobs, balanced budget, budget surplus, peace and prosperity, respected by the world, minimum wage increase, the successful effort in Bosnia, appointing 2 reasonable supreme court justices) he deserves every penny.

    You go Bill!

I'm sorry... I don't understand why this is news. Tons of politicians and *all* ex-presidents make money this way. I don't get why this is being reported on the Ticker, nor why so many people seem to be discussing it here...

And this is why I don't feel guilty for not helping to pay down Hillary's debt. She and Bill can always make a few speeches to get that money back. My (limited) extra cash is going towards Obama!

  22. KMAN

CORRECTION: Former president Bill Clintion RECEIVED $10.1 millon in 2007 for giving paid speeches ... he sure as hell didn't EARN it. Big different between receiving and earning money, but who would expect politicains or big news organizations to understand the difference. Only wasteful fools would spend that kind of money when there is no real benefit from the expediture!

  23. check and checkmate

You go Bill, I'm sure Hillary is the person we could use now Obama is a flash in the Pan, and McCain is a transition Pres. either way if you got the economy smoking white hot when you were Pres. I have no doubt that Hillary could and would do the same.

ps see you in 2012 cause the two losers will last 1 term and their gone.

    Respectfully a Clinton Supporter

Good for Bill! He and Hillary never had much of anything for most of their public service years; never even owned a home until they left the WH. It's great that they can reap rewards for their dedication to improving the lives of disadvantaged children, women, and families. It's for sure they don't get much thanks for continuing to focus on peace and prosperity while enduring relentless attacks from right wing fanatics.
