Did McCain think Obama would just sit and take the false attacks?? This isn't John Kerry, Obama fights back, and will win.

McCain's only chance at winning was to remain a 'maverick' and run against Bush's policies. Instead, he's become Bush's heir, and the American people don't want the same old failed policies. All the ads and talk is just filler, the choice is clear.

Get off McCain's back. He can't help it don't forget the aging process might be beneficial to fine wines and liquors but probably not the right recipe for President of the United States.

Why don't people just look at the appearance of both candidates and honestly choose which person you would want representing your country for the next 4 years. The past 8 years with a rodeo clown at the helm has seen nothing but protests and flag burnings all over the world. And yes the U.S. image does matter world wide as you are not an Island unto yourself.

Apparently he is ready to lead, because McCain is following in his footsteps when he changed his mind on a 16mo withdrawl timetable. Bush is following when it came to sending a high ranking official to sit in on the Iran talks.

I cant wait till the conventions are over when the REAL race starts. All this other crap isn't even news worthy. Neither candidate has gone into detail with their plans.

Yup, McCain has taken the "dirt road", but it won't lead him to the White House. He has too much to hide--including his service record and his wife's income tax returns--to be fighting in the gutter. It figured that his campaign would take this turn after he hired several of Karl Rove's disciples. What kind of judgment does McCain have? None of the right kind! He's a bitter old man under the control of some totally amoral controllers.

Great ad, McCain folks.

Barack is all nervous, so nervous he had to crank his sorry excuse for a "reply."

This ad captures so much in such a short time. Brilliant!

It's hits too close to home, eh, Obama??

McOld needs to retire and go home and enjoy his family with the time he has left in the world.

I cannot believe people will vote for any republican in 2008. Especially those that are living paycheck to paycheck. If you are not living paycheck to paycheck you probably do not have enough savings to survive 6 months of unemployment.

Why can't we just listen to the words that come from the candidates mouths in there entirety (in context)? Not just the pieces the media want us to hear. Are we that closed minded? This is really pathetic. The road ahead of us as a nation is very long (still).

I want my children to be proud of this country for it's Greatness. We have lost that and if you don't think so just look around.

John McCain is engaged in the most dirty campaign since old bushie beat him back in 2000.

John can't come out with his real platform because the American people have had enough of that stuff! So, he engages in mud slinging like all good republicans!

It seems that some prominent Republicans are stepping up and criticizing Mccain, and rightfully so. Even some of his supporters, at least the ones who attended college, are turned off by this thinly veiled attempt to appeal to the voters worst instincts.>>>Don't trust someone who looks different, talks different, has a different kind of name. I have no problem with sonone who has rational based criticism of BO. But to appeal to people's prejuidices is another thing entirely, and is highly contemptible.

Why, why, why doesn't anyone publically ask the "maverick"
Senator he has caved into GOP pressure to go so negative
this early in the general election cycle.
Sadly, tons of young voters will like the fact Senator Obama
was connected to the starlets. Obama may gain votes from the
under 25 crowd because of the ad.

Obama moved the DNC to his headquarters. McCain has
given his message to the fear mongers in the GOP.

Maybe the GOP can run with out a candidate. It seems that is
what they are doing anyway.

McCain would have done better to have Paris and Britney do a "McCain Girls" ad for him (you know, like "Obama Girl"?). Much more effective use of their names for him. I can just picture it now....

UPDATE: Tucker Bounds, spokesman for the McCain campaign, released the following statement in response to the Obama campaign's new "Low Road" ad: "Pointing out your opponent’s worldwide celebrity is not the ‘low road,' and neither is pointing out that he opposes oil drilling and supports higher taxes.”

Since Tucker Bounds does ALL the talking for John McCain why isn't HE running...oh thats right McCain is stuck in OZ- pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

Why does this post purport to be about Obama's ad but only link to McCain's? That doesn't make any sense.

Neither do McCain's spokespeople. Has anything intelligible ever come out of their mouths? These to be the most juvenile, amateurish PR people I've ever seen. They must think we Americans are pretty stupid. I for one am fed up with McCains old, stale ideas and his negative campaigning. Americans are hopeful people, not haters, and McCain's negative campaigning looks desperate and shameful.

If you'd like four more years listening to folks that treat you like second graders, McCain's your man. I on the other hand think America is ready to fulfill its destiny for greatness, so I'm voting for Obama!

Kansas Republican is a hypocrite and a fool. I am so sick of people like that. The GOP(gross old perverts) are the masters of the smear and dirty tricks. Edmund Muskie, Tom Eagleton, Tricky Dick and Watergate, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth? It won't work anymore. And after they tried to destroy Clinton, we get Mark Foley and Larry Craig, and that's just a couple I can remember. Help me out here people. Let's bury these creeps for good. Democrats in 2008!

Too bad Senator Obama has too stoop to this level to send a clear message to the voters. Wish he could stay above the fray but with the false and misleading statements being made by McCain, the RNC,and certain conservative groups, what else can he do but defend himself and state the truth.

I like the update part. Pointing out facts are the new low? take the hit man. Just point out that you have more followers and he's jealous...something along those lines. When are we going to debate? Talk about real issues? 2 wks before election? Get on the ball Media or your not going to have a Country to subscribe to your cable Networks.

this clearly shows that McCain has no policy or a clear message. Old dirty tricks. if he wants to be the president he has got to show the people what he stands for beside supporting failed Bush policies. Barack in new, young but at least he has a clear message and he is talking to American people.

The old man is losing it. Did not he used to say this time around it will be different. I guess you cannot teach an old dog new trick. Anyway of his recent comments has any substance...just attack on Obama. Mr. McCain if you substance debt on issues or the scare tactic did not work for you on Bush. I just lost total respect for you. Anyways I was wrong in entertaining the idea of you being a decent opponent. You really proved that you represent the past.

Kansas Republican July 30th, 2008 6:55 pm ET

"Yeah! Anytime McCain says anything about Obummer, he's just terrible. "

This wouldn't be an problem if McCain would stick to issues instead of personal attacks. People are tired of the Republican tactics when it comes to politics. McCain is so busy attacking Obama instead of stating where he stands on issues that no one knows what he stands for only what he doesn't like about Obama's stance on issues. He sold out to the Republicans, no longer having a mind of his own (which is probably why he doesn't state where he stands) and he's lost a lot of votes because of it.

As a Reoublican who awaits who John McCain will pick as a VP running mate (and that choice will decide whether I vote for McCain or not), I find this latest commercial absolutely ridiculous, stupid and mindless. Whoever McCain has running this part (and others as well) is a moron. These types of attacks linking Obama to two females who have serious issues despite their money, is weak and the point of their ad gets lost in the mush of a disjointed ad. Whatever happened to running a clean campaign, or did you just forget John?

McCain needs to read the paper as gas prices are not soaring as they once were.He does live in the past, and when he talks you hear the voice of George Bush. Constant attack ads are the sign of a man out of touch with the real issues of the day, and people are tired of them. From the mouth of the man who vowed to run a clean campaign concentrating on the issues, I'm sure that his ads will get very dirtyand viscious the closer we get to election day. It his stock and trade and the same type of campaign ads he ran against Bush senior. What a shame that the public has to hear the ranting of a man like that.

A nice uppercut after an underhanded shot seems fair to me...Old politics and the failed policies of the current administration have no place in a real America, and it will come to a stop when the American people start to demand accountability from their elected officials. If I remember correctly, they work for us, and I once heard that the customer is always right, more apparently, for better or worse. We need some sort of change in government now, if not yesterday. Bring on the debates.

Its about time.
The GOP Negative tactics shall backfire on them this year.

Comparing Obama to Paris Hilton just lost McCaine team and the GOP youth votes and help to reaffirm the fact that McCain and the GOP is indeed a Geriatric Party with Geriatric ideas.

Obama as Democratic Party nominee spoke in Berlin and over 200,000 people turned out to see and listen to him. Imagine how many shall turn out when he goes back to speak in the same city Berlin as President? Perhaps Million. YES. Thats the extent to which he's loved all over the world.

Surprisingly, McCain too had been in Europe before where he couldn't even raised a crowd of 500 people. He comes accross as a dull, uninspiring man better suited to an Elderly Nursing Home.
He's just gone a step ahead to confirm this by his ad.

SHAME on McCain and the GOP.

What a feeble attempt at trying to make someone stronger look weak..poor old dog.. he really is such an old geezer.. and his camp is becoming laughable. Give it up Johnny.. you will never outshine Barack..never..

The McCain ad likening Obama to Paris and Britney is childish and jealous. I personally love the fact that the rest of the world is behind Barack – and the U.S. It's about time.

Instead of focusing on "People Magazine" politics, Senator McCain should take another course in Geography.

Obama is kinda starting to seem like a wuss as he tries to shift to the pollitical center for the general election. You should at least man up and stick to your beliefs, instead of Kerry-pandering to the center.

Thanks McCain, you've just made me donate another $50 to the Obama campaign. Join me in helping mccain's tactics backfire by increasing your support to Obama whenever McCain goes negative.

Yeah... Take his licks without crying and throw his punches without sarcasm...

This campaign is supposed to be about the issues we're facing as a nation. Not about dragging each other through the dirt. Unfortunately most voters, like politicians, would rather fight amongst themselves then get things done. Then these very same people wonder why things are the way they are today....

Splitting into different parties was the worst thing that ever happened to politics in this country. Let's think of more ways to divide ourselves. Using common sense is obviously not an option.
