Obama camp says Ludacris should be 'ashamed'

The Obama campaign is criticizing Ludacris' new song.

(CNN) – Barack Obama's campaign sharply condemned rapper Ludacris Wednesday over his new song celebrating the Illinois senator's presidential bid while referring to Hillary Clinton by an offensive remark.

The song, called "Politics: Obama Is Here," was released earlier in the day and refers to the New York senator as an "irrelevant b***h." Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, also takes aim at John McCain in the song, saying the Arizona senator "don't belong in ANY chair unless he's paralyzed."

The song, which largely celebrates the rise of Obama on the national political scene, also criticizes the Rev. Jesse Jackson and President Bush.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said Ludacris should be "ashamed of these lyrics."

"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to," Burton said. "This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics."

Obama has praised Ludacris in the past and the two men sat down privately in 2006 together to discuss ways to empower youth.

Yes...Ludacris should be ashamed. I'm ashamed for him! What was he thinking? Pleeeease don't do Obama any favors Ludacris. The best thing you can do is donate some money for his campaign, he doesn't need this kind of help. Good grief!

The bigger question is why the hell did Obama praise him in the past. I mean I love Ludacris.........but i wouldn't let me kids listen to him or anything he stands for.

Good! We (Obama supporters) do not have to make his opponents road kill in order to win. Obama can win fair and square. We do not need to hear this tpye of musical nonsense...IT IS A NEW DAY IN POLITICS!!!! It is called decency!

Remeber when the news would report on the issues that the candidates would discuss and point out the discrepancys of what they say and what they actually do?

So call political reporting has been reduced to Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears and Ludicrous.

    This is ludicrous.

Is this the change we can expect from the Obama supporters? It's a change that I don't like at all. Why dis Hillary when she whipped Obama's butt in the coasts and in the mid west and New York. Yeah I know Obama won Idaho but so did Larry Craig.

I hear the obam is threatening the life of American Hero John McCain? I just read a blog that said obamba was challenging John to a duel. obamba just can't help himself with his mega ego personality can he?

Barry also said he is related to Wild Bill, George Bush, Dick Cheney and a King of England and a host of others to probably include Osama himself. He just can't help himself. He is risky and I don't trust him.

bam may not be a Muslim, but he is no stranger in the Muslim Church.

He will raise your taxes and "dis" your values.

I would love to see who Obama and Michelle socialize with on a daily basis. Right now I'm not very impressed with the ones I've heard of to date. Rev. Wright, Jesse Jackson, Ludacris, and those who helped him get into politics in Chicago, etc. Of course leave it to Roland Martin to protect and defend Obama. If he gets cornered he always starts quoting from the bible.

What baloney. Obama LOVES this rap piece!

It keeps the connection with his "roots." That way, while playing King for a Day, he doesn't lose his base.

He wants his base to be right in the middle of everything. This is Obama "walking the walk."

    Four years of this? Please.

Ludacris is just a wrap artist, he might say anything. These words are very offensive, just the usual wrapper. He needs to move on with his filthy mouth. Everyone is comming out of the closet.

This guy is an idiot. However, I'm sure CNN contributor Roland Martin will come to his defense since black people can do no wrong in his eyes.

I will thank you for Luda, all the air time and media attention is making his bank accounts larger as people run out to see what your discussing.Young people love this by the way. The media wants to be able to make all the money and say anything that will sell. Why shouldn't Ludacris enjoy the current environment where everyone that can are making money off of our political system.
Stats show that the largest buyer of rap music are increasingly young white americans, go figure. And since he is an employee of the white owned media company's they are okay with this. Cover real news he's producing what they want on the shelves.

Here's a story for you that people in my circles are talking about all the money, influence peddling, lobbiest ties, are much more important Sen. McCain has sat on this board for a very long time (International Republican Institute ) This worries us..

That is a typical old politics, ask "representative" to play dirty tricks on his opponent and then condemned it...Obama is good at this trick or else he cannot become a senator and a president candidate

As an independent, I am very impressed with this fine example of
Senator Obama's judgement. It is very clear that he doesn't need no
stinking experience as his judgement is obvisously even better than
    that of the Almighty.

Now Obama thows him under the bus just like is grand mother, Rev Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pflaglar, Rezko, and others.

Do we see a pattern here ??????????
