As an african-american, I do not like Obama because he's black, but due to his arrogant nature. He's drinking his on kool-aid and stuck on himself. Democrats has missed a valuable opportunity to capure the white house by not nominatinfg Hillary Clinton. I simple do not trust the man.

republicans attacking again. but, I think Obama needs to start calling against McCain. He kept taking it from Clinton in the primaries and was always on the defensive, never truly going offensive. so why not start putting McCain to rest... might as well start with McCain's recent flipflopping issues... it worked for the GOP against Kerry. Lets rip them with their own treatment. Then again, maybe we're above that.
Obama needs to start making headway after his trip. He cannot keep riding the wave of the trip's success . He must get out there and start pressing the issues again. This is the only reason the polls have slipped slightly. Whatever happens, There are less than 100 days left.
Time to put this one in the history books with action, and not only proclamation.

Real change?

Does Obama's real change mean the Democratic Party will become fiscally responsible? Does his change mean the Democratic Party will protect the lives of the unborn? Does it mean the Democratic Party will be less focused on political correctness and more focused on understanding that while America is a land of immigrants we're all Americans and not hyphenated Americans?

I'm a liberal but certainly not the Nancy Pelosi type of leftist.

Real change would mean an end to discriminatory affirmative action, an end to the Democratic Party's support for abortion in every circumstance and an end to feel-good government polices will never work because they violate the basic principles on which this country was founded.

If you read a recent article by the Economist, honestly, a President who is more open to immigrants, more open to foreign countries, and VERY SELF-CONFIDENT is who we need as our next President. Americans have lost their self-confidence, and are less open to anything foreign. Obama is the solution right now, even without experience, his confidence will see him through. Americans are born to be like him, we're open to everything, and we really need a change. The GOP has been implementing a close relationship-based politics, that we should all avoid. The best wins, not the most related wins.

"...responsive, efficient, honest government listening to the people..." as stated by Nancy Pelosi. Anyone with any interest in what happens in Washington can immediately see that this entire article is about Democrats able to talk an excellent future, but unable, over the last decade to walk the walk. Just one example, no drilling for oil, regardless of what the people have been telling them. They just haven't been listening.
As for Barack, he is the best speaker in the world. What has he done in the past that makes you think that he'll do anything in the future?

The republicans would be better served to attack the dems on the issues. People can see right through this lame attempt. And most people are savvy enough to investigate on their own and find the full text of the quote :
‘It has become increasingly clear in my travel, the campaign, that the crowds, the enthusiasm, 200,000 people in Berlin, is not about me at all. It’s about America. I have just become a symbol … .” More of what he always says.

Maybe this election can be transformitive.

This is the attitude tn has had since he first started. This desire for such global power and the ego and the fast, smooth talking is part of what scares the Hell out of this old lady.
We do not need a one world org. like so many politicians are trying to sneak us into. They are starting with the Mexico to Canada corridor and this man is backing that.
also anyone that Pelosi thinks is so great you better look at twice, She is so power hungry she is selling out this country so we will always be oil dependent to forgein countries and never be oil independent for our Nation Security and economy. God willing she won't be speaker for ever. People in CA are going to smarten up and vote her out one of these days.

He needs to cool it! He does not have this huge lead over McCain, he has not won over Hispanic and other ethnic groups other than Black Americans (and yes I'm a Black American) and he has not won over White Women.

The only change we will see is a new President because politics is still politics and he's a sly politician.

Take things IN CONTEXT! Compare what was said and what is TRUE. Then make up your mind. Don't just take things that the RNC and McClueless go around saying as the truth. Usually it is just more B.S. because they are desperate. McBush has nothing else to stand on.

This is what the world has been waiting for. Please. REPUBs, get a life, clue or something. This is just pathetic, adult folk like this.

Obama is right. The world is waiting for a change for the better. They sure didn't see that with Bush over 8 years....things got worse.

Give it up. You are scared and fear is your only weapon. I hope it backfires. Yes, I hope it slaps them right back in the face.

Someone comes along and gives people hope and speaks of hope, you are ready to lamblast him. Just party poopers.

The Republicans are still trying to run a Karl Rove campaign without Karl Rove. How can a party that is clearly and blatantly choosing big business over the American people talk about anyone being audatious? McCain keeps talking about being able to work across party lines, but if this campaign is any indication about how he will govern, you would be a fool to vote for him.

All candidates says "when I'm President, I will…" what's the big deal? He is confident.
Obama is not arrogant. This campaign is about trying to fix and make this country well again. We have suffered greatly under the tyranny of the Bush administration, and it will take a man of strong conviction to turn things around. I don't want a pasty faced wishy-washy Bush wannabe running this country. We have gone through enough in the past 8 years, and we do need CHANGE. That is what republicans fear the most.......change. They want more of the same. I just hope that everyone who is questioning whether Obama can be a leader will simply think about how Bush has put us in such a deep hole. Do they really want Bush revisited? I hear everyone bemoaning how bad things are. Just who do these people think is the cause of this mess?Do they actually believe that McCain will truly be any different? If they do, then by all means vote for him. But be warned......I hope you can live with your vote.Be very careful what you wish for.

Seriously? That's it? That's the best the republicans can find?

Sometimes I suspect John McCain is purposely trying to throw the election so that Obama can deal with all the problems that Bush caused.

This comment like so many others have been taken out of context.
Obama throughout the primaries said he had confidence in the American people that they would not be side tracked by non-issues and that the old style politics would not work this time. I'm afraid he was wrong.
Let's say(for argument) he was in fact arrogant, how does that detract from his capabilities? Are arrogant people bad people? Is arrogance the single issue on which one would make their voting decision? There are things about our best friends that we don't like. Are we saying then that we're only going to vote for someone we like absolutely everything about?

So what? It's true. People do have hope in him... much more hope than McCain can dream of having from the people.

And "northern lite", the dems in congress can do very little with a 51-49 "majority" in the Senate. Your republican bungholes have managed to make sure to that.

I see an arrogant, self absorbing, ego driven man who will stop at nothing to show the world that he is the end all to washington. That's what he will be....the end of washington. I want him to explain why he didn't go in to see the troops when he found out that he couldn't bring the press? I guess since there was no photo op for him then they weren't worth his time. That's not the type of President I want.

I will be voting for McCain. He might not be the best speaker in the world but atleast he's honest and real. Not like the puppet Obama.

I know I'm bracing myself for the Obama/Pelosi show. Four years of dropping our knickers for the rest of the world and blaming the previous administration for their shortcomings.

Get real, clean out the dead weight in Washington and start over with real Americans intersted in making this nation great without the need for waving the banner of a particulr political party.

Enough is enough.

I don't understand the issue with Obama's positive message here.

These Republicans along with McCain desperately appear to be followers of Obama's every move instead looking for ways to lead.

Obama inspires people from all walks of life to want to do better for our country, which exemplifies the concept of strong leadership we need in our next president IMHO.

It is sad when the media, yes you CNN, covers up a million McCain gaffes and writes an entire article about comments Obama "reportedly" made in a closed session hearing...a sad day for journalism indeed

The "arrogant" description of Barrack is the high school equivalent of being called "stuck up".It is a tool that jealous people or those who see somebody as being a threat use to cause others to dislike their intended target. Then once the target does or says something in anyway that can be seen as being overconfident, they use that to cause the undecided who barely know the person to agree as well and then they sit back and say "See I told you so". That is the tactic used against Barrack as they can't find much fault in him and since so many love him, they try to use that in a negative light and cause the undecided to hate on him for no reason whatsoever. If America becomes more concerned with voting for a President that can best get the job done than one whom they could see themselves having a drink with then we would be much better off.

I totally agree. I wish we could make his lord messiah Barack Obama King of all of the World for eternity. His deep messages of Hope and Change... and his detailed explanations of how this will happen. Don't those stupid republicans understand that 5 dedicated months as a Senator is plenty of experience to rule the world. Look at all the policies he's created already. And he was a communitiy organizer too. He was right on when he said the troops didn't have anything to do with the successes in Iraq. He was right when he voted against the troop surge because we can't afford to lose any more soldiers... Unless it's a troop surge in Afganistan, then we can afford to lose more soldiers and it makes sense. Who cares if I understand. He's the lord messiah Barach Obama. He knows what's better for me than I do. I can't wait to serve him and be a member of the New World Order. This is going to be great.
