I am a independent. and something similar happened in the primaries.. I thought ok its bill so things like this come up.. Obama you just lost my vote.. you might still win but you just lost my vote! The only change you will bring is for yourself and your family. you are not out looking for the average american like I thought you were! I guess the choice is old guy vs inexperienced young guy and I was wrong in wanting to vote for you. Its better to have a old guy run the show than someone totally inexperienced and self centered. Atleast he wil tell me the way it is!

Ok, so let's turn this around... What if McCain was speaking in front of an audience and he says "the other side will try to make you afraid of me because I'm older than any of the previous presidents, they will try to convince you that I'm feeble or that I'm not physically able to handle being president". Would any sane person, based on what McCain said, charge him with playing the age card? Really, this is yet another desperate attempt to attack Obama every chance he can get. He can't come up with anything better and it's just getting sad.

Its true-

Obama has played the race card since it worked for him in SC.

He painted Bill, Hill and all their supporters as racist.

And THAT was damage done to his OWN party.

Obama will really play up his race to gut and eliminate McCain.

Unlike Hillary, McCain can and will make a note of it. Hillary was too kind and loyal to her party to make an issue of Obama's constant race baiting.

John McCain has nothing to offer, not one original idea, so he has to resort to this kind of playground namecalling in order to get the attention of the media. He can't afford the ad campaign that Obama is besting him at, and he can't seem to come up with anything inspirational to say, so this is all he has. I don't understand how the term "maverick" came to be applied to this guy. He seems like kind of a simpleton to me. The gas tax holiday and the insane rush to drill for oil are not going to get out out of the mess we are in. We need something different, new fresh ideas from someone who can articulate them intelligently. My money's on Obama.

McCain was playing the race card by putting 2 white, blond haired females in the commercial with Obama using a subliminal racist message directed towards white men who may be on the fence about supporting a mixed heritage candidate. Why didn't McCain use real popular celebs like Brad Pitt? He could've used men, but you have to ask yourself why did he choose two white women to be placed into this ad? It's the same ploy they used against Ford when he was running for the Senate in Tennessee; it's the same racist tactic.

If you criticize Obama, you are racist.

If you mention his middle name (even though it is on his birth certificate, presumably if it exists) you are racist.

Race is very sensitive issue. I bet if Obama was white then he would have 15-20pts lead over McCain. What Obama said in his speech can be seen from several angels. I am an Obama supporter and I did think he did play race card. I am ok with it. Because of his race Republican has been trying to label him as a scary guy. Unfortunately some of us believe those negative attacks without doing research on our own to find out the truth. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. I believe Obama is smart and there is no doubt about it. I believe he can introduce us with fresh ideas and constructive judgment which can rescues us from current economic disaster and our image abroad. I understand McCain has so much experience and in Washington for 20 yrs. If he knows what needs to be done then where was he in last 20 years? Also Oil price started going up couple years ago. Where Bush and McCain were then, why now pushing for offshore drilling?

Whether it's "RACE", "trying to invalidate Obama's credentials, belittling Obama FANTASTIC Trip overseas – the REALLY, REALLY INSANE Spears/Hilton ad – or any other number of really dopey insults – MCMC is scraping the bottom of the barrel. His desperation is LOUD & CLEAR.

McJohn and those who back him – including BIG OIL and other BIG "Interests" are chomping-at-the-bit . . . THEIR LIFESTYLE is in GRAVE DANGER when Sen, Obama WINS the Presidency. So we get this crap instead of PLANS to restore the USA to even footing!

I think Obama has defended himself rather fairly against this barrage of sleazy jabs. Republican Attack Machine at its best. And it's tremendously discouraging to witness... It was only a matter of time before Mr. Obama played the "race card." It seems when the polls start on a downward trend, the reason has to be because of color or his "funny name." Could the downward trend actually be because people are starting to find out more about Mr. Obama and don't like what they are seeing and hearing?
