McCain: Congress should reconvene, vote on energy bill

CNN

"Drill here, drill now," McCain said Monday.

(CNN) - Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain called Monday for immediate congressional action on the nation’s energy crisis, joining a call by his Republican colleagues for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to call legislators back from their August recess for a special session.

The Arizona senator said he would return to vote on any proposal. McCain has missed Senate votes since April, including several involving major energy measures – one of which, a summer gas tax holiday, was a standard element of his spring stump speech.

Why does Obama not call for a vote too instead of all the rhetoric?

Drill here, drill there, and drill now, so McSame can get donation from oil industry. Sound fimilar? Just like Bush. No WMD here, no WMD there, now WMD then, and no WMD now. Repubs have only soundbites, no real solution.

    Johnny,
They have close to 70 million acres, and close to 30 million of them are offshore.

So if you are STILL too stupid to get it, let me make it clear to your feeble mind:

They CAN drill there and they can do it NOW. They've been able to do that for over 10 years now but haven't. Quit blowing hot air, your gaseous fumes are becoming foul. Show a brain and tell us why they can't do something with what they already got before you try to let them take more to do nothing with.

You are a moron McCain, so just shut up and go back to your retirement home.

I am disgruntled at the Democrats in congress, Nancy Pelosi wants to save the world, give me a break! The make-up she piles on her face is a derivative of the oil she opposes. I will do my part by voting every Democrat that I can out of office from now on. I have been a Democrat for twenty years, as Ronald Reagan said, "I did not leave the Democratic party, they left me." That's exactly why he changed to a Republican, and those sentiments are mine today! Have a good vacation Ms. Pelosi and Reid, and all of the other Democratic puppets…

TO: A Nightingale Stinks in Berkley Square...

As you and others attempt to pin the status of the country on the Democratic led Congress that has held sway for 1.5 of the last 8 miserable years, you fail (or puposely NEGLECT) to mention that

THE REPUBLICANS HELD POWER IN EVERY BRANCH OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR 6 OF THE LAST 7.5 YEARS...

"AND" that the RepubliCONs have SET A RECORD THIS TERM WITH THE NUMBER OF FILIBUSTERS !!!!! "OBSTRUCTIONST" is not a POLITICAL PARTY, NOR PHILOSOPHY.... THE REPUBLI"CONS" HAVE ADOPTED BOTH!

Enlightened Voter: (you seem anything BUT enlightened)

Pelosi and Reid have TRIED to have votes on MANY things. THE REPUBLICONS have BLOCKED "ANY" legislation until they get their way on drilling. THEY EVEN BLOCKED VOTING ON A BILL FUNDING THE TROOPS!!! "anything" to push the agenda of their big oil masters.

so please place the blame squarely where it belongs... WITH THE REPUBLI"CONS"...

AGAIN... there are only two kinds of republicans.... millionaires ... and suckers.

What is it you're hoping to achieve by writing the same thing, Senator Barack Obama's middle name, as if someone is supposed to, what, become fearful of his middle name? Or, think about that OLD, TIRED LIE that's been circulating on the internet about him being a muslim? Didn't you see your Clown-in-Chief's web/tv ad? Remember, he is now trying to use Moses IN HIS ATTACK AD AGAINST SENATOR OBAMA. JUST SO YOU KNOW, MOSES, who was "chosen" by God to help the Israelites cross over into the promised land, who is also all through the Torah, which is used by the Jewish version of the bible, WOULD NOW MAKE IT TOTALLY STUPID not to mention inconsitent FOR YOU TO TRY TO INSTILL THE "Senator Obama is a muslim FEAR CRAP" across this and other blogs. Or, I like the other alternative, you and McCain and the rest of the folks that want to try to continue with that lie are COMPLETE IDIOTS BECAUSE McCAIN'S MOSES AD SAYS DIFFERENT. In short, Moses was NOT A MUSLIM IDIOT! Or, didn't those children who are now running McCain's campaign Karl Rove style, think of that!

By the way, oil analysts are positive about Obama's policy that he laid out today. They believe that a tapping of the Strategic Reserve could drop oil to $80/ barrel and could knock 60 cents/gallon off the price of gas.

So, who is thinking and who is reacting?
After eight years of a President who reacted but did not think, isn't it time for a change?
