May 1, 2003, on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, under a banner saying "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED," President Bush announced that combat operations in Iraq have ended. By the way, oil analysts are positive about Obama's policy that he laid out today. They believe that a tapping of the Strategic Reserve could drop oil to $80/ barrel and could knock 60 cents/gallon off the price of gas.

McCain missing a vote does not compare to all the Democrates taking a holiday while we continue to pay through the nose for gas. Maybe McCain could be falted if the bill failed by 1 vote, but one more vote would not have prevented it from being defeated by the Democrates who do not want us to pay less for gas. They want more Americans to struggle to make ends meet. That way more Americans will vote for Democrates, the party that promises hand outs to the poor, not a way out. The Democrates need to keep the majority of Amerians poor to maintain their voter base.
But the Republicans and McCain are wasting their time demanding that the Demorcates come back and get something done. The Democrates weren't getting anyting done anyway. Nothing will happen until 08 when McCain and the Republicans take back Washington.

McCain is too busy working on his negative campaign to vote even for his own bill on the gas tax holiday. Proof positive that he's all talk and no action! Missing several votes on energy measures means that McCain didn't think the energy problem was a crisis until he read it in the polls. Somebody in his campaign needs to let him in on the really important stuff going on in the country.

Wow, I used to have some respect for Sen. McCain. He seemed like one of the few guys on the right willing to reach across the aisle and keep things civil.

This campaign has removed all of that. He has become the typical pandering hypocrite the Republicans seem to trot out on a regular basis.
