If anyone actually thinks Hillary supporters will support Obama because of Bayh are dillusional..I can not get behind my party unless they do right by Clinton, who broke records this primary season. I want Clinton on the ticket, she earned my vote and it should be voters choice who will be second in command. Silly that we do not have a say in that position. Well, my say is its Clinton or I stay home.

I thought the wonderkiind Obama was picking a candidate with a foreign sounding name like Mohammed or Ashai. Maybe they will become his secret advisors instead.

Maybe he will pick Barney Frank or Larry Craig. I think he likes Larry better since both he and Larry won Idaho, while Hillary beat Obama in MA. By the way Hillary won the mid west; both coasts; and Michigan, Florida and Texas. Tell me again what states Obama won? Oh yeah, I forgot, Bam won Iowa. Give me a break.

Bam is a loser and is a risky choice.

being the king of mind changers, obama will not select a VP till he as a comfortable lead in the polls. till then he will keep his ace in the hole (HILLARY) on stand by. hopefully it all backfires on him .

Bayh would be a good choice for VP. So would 2 or 3 other people touted to be on the short list. But I think Obama is looking to inject a bit of surprise factor, either in his choice or the timing of his announcement - or both.

Obama would never select Evan Bayh for VP because Bayh would come across as clearly more qualified than Obama. Obama needs someone who will not overshadow him in ability. Hmmm. Now I see the problem.

All you people crying about McCain's voting record should take a look at a bunch of crap that was attached as "PORK" to a lot of it. The last vote a couple months ago had so much pork from one of ID Sen. I wrote him and it was not a pleasant letter. I am just glad he isn't running again. Some of these guys and gals will do anything to get some stupid slipped through. Even to a military funding bill. I would like to see that practice outlawed and everything gets voted on with its own merits. Make these politicians earn their keep.

I do not think that Sen. Obama really wants to share the stage with anyone and certainly not one who is more qualified than he to be the nominee. That is why he probably won't pick Hillary Clinton. The problem with this narrative is that without her on the ticket, his path to win in November is much more difficult. Every other choice will be compared to her and they will be found deficient. Either they will not be experienced or knowlegeable enough or they will not be charismatic enough. Good luck Senator Obama. I wish you well. You can choose to win big with Hillary Clinton or you can slog it out and hope that you can eke out a win. You can get close without her and you may win but with her this election is over.

Obama wants to tax the profits of the oil company's. I bet none of you dems see the problem with that do you. The problem is if he dose that he will also have to place those same taxes on all companies or it is a violation of the constitution. Also I would like to point out that under his plan that $1000 would also go to help the people on govt. programs. In other words if your taxes are paying for them to live for free they will still get that same benefit that you get. Crap.

Good way to show what a terrific statesman your candidate will be, GOP.
Why is his campaign so punctuated with silly ads, bitter and smirky remarks about the opponent, and ungentlemanly retorts. Does anyone wonder how McCain would have slung mud at Hillary if she were the nominee? He has shown his colors.

McCain is a better debater than Obama, just like Hillary was a better debator than Obama. McCain will go into those town hall meetings and those Presidential debates and wipe the floor with Obama. Why else would Obama refuse to do the town hall meetings with McCain.

All McCain has to do right now is keep the polling numbers close until the real election begins, after the primaries. Then he will hit those debates, show his experiance and knowledge on a wide variety of issues and leave Obama stumped.

The Media has seriously hurt Obama, and so has his own campaign. They talk so much about Obama, they show so much of Obama, he is losing the new quality he had. People are getting over their inital obsession and starting to look at him.

Obama needs a VP who can be a pit bull. Who can go out there and sell the negative ads about McCain, who can fight hard in the VP debate, and who can rally the independant and moderate voters who are nervous about McCain. He needs a populist, he needs someone with experiance.

Right now Obama is trying to play for the middle ground and not piss of anyone. Unfortunatly that won't work. He is trying to win states that are to different to support the same person. He needs Hillary Clinton. He will piss off some people but her advantages outway her disadvantages.

As for Bill, he spends most of his time abroad now anyways. Simply ban him from the White House, keep public appearances with him and Obama to a bear minimum and show Hillary a lot at the White House.

The only other way this works without Hillary as VP, is if he leaks or announces that Hillary will be part of his Cabinet in a substantive role, such as Secretary of State or Attorney General. This will motivate her supporters to get out and vote so she gets something.

Obama will choose someone who can help him get elected, but not overshadow him (that's why Hillary isn't even in the running). And being basically selfish, Obama will pick someone that indulges his ego needs - like Richardson - that kiss, kiss brown nose.

The only perk of being Vice President of the United States, is that it sets you up for an eventual run for your parties nomination for President. Among Democrats it is no secret that there is a push for Hillary to run, either after Obama loses or after he finishes his time as President.

Either way, few of these people would want to go against Hillary, so there is little motivation behind being Vice President. Which would explain why a number of the more ambitious people have said no.

Further, the polling numbers are starting to scare people in the party. I think Obama is letting speculation run wild around a few candidates he would be most intrested in and see how the numbers play. I think is staff has reservations about Hillary, but I do believe them when they say they were friends, espcially since Hillary helped him get elected to the Senate. I think they will look at the numbers and in the end it will be the Obama / Clinton ticket, a lot of people want.

Evan Bayh is not going to be Obama's pick for VP. Bayh is a safe and boring pick for Obama as VP. They could campaign together okay and govern together okay. Tim Kaines has been an Obama supporter from the start and shares similiar biography roots, plus Obama and Kaines have good political chemistry.

Hillary will be to bossy, thinking that she is campaigning to be co-president with Obama and not vice president. Plus Obama does not trust a Hillary and Bill Clinton in the White House. If Hillary was a divorcee or widow, then Hillary could be a good second choice for VP.

Obama should pick Hillary since his support is slipping. The enthusiasm has turned to reality and if he doesn't pick Hillary, there will be many who vote McCain or just won't vote.

Just wanted to leave a thought on the unproductive term "flip flop" Politicians are now so afraid of being labeled a flip flopper that progress in Washington has come to a hault. Obama offers an energy compromise, some drilling in exchange for more money to fund alternative resources. Extremely logical and the inevitable solution and Mccain says he's confused and CNN is asking if Obama is flip flopping. Please CNN do the country a favor. Dont ever use the word Flip Flop when it comes to energy solutions. It's time for the Great Energy Compromise!

Hey all you Hillary supporters! You need to get all your people together and send in $1.00 each to pay off some of her debt, rather than wasting time critizing Obama and McCain. If she has 18 million supporters the debt would almost be abolished! How about it? Any moron who has read and watched tv and did their homework would know Obama did not steal Hillarys policies. Read all the story, go to all networks and compare notes. Personnally, Evan Bayh is a good choice, but there are lots of other good choices too.

I'm sure if it was up to CNN, they would hand the election to Mc cain, just report the news in a fair and balance way. I just saw a segment on filp flopping, which would supposedly talk about both candidates flip flops, but in true cnn fashion, ONLY 0bama's filp flops were mentioned, this is such BS!!!

Please Hillary supporters, STOP with the 18 million votes. Most of them came before Obama was a household name (California, New York...) and good part of those would've went to Obama. Another part of them is the result of a prolonged primary where OBAMA at the later stages was not even competing anymore...cause he had already won...

ANd let's not talk about the fact that she counts Michigan, Florida the sexist and the racist vote

There was a poll that just came out that said that half of the people are already sick of hearing about Obama. You can put me on the list. The guy has been on the national scene for a year and already most are sick of him. It's because he has nothing new to say. It's all old left leaning democratic policies he's selling. The man is a joke.

But maybe I'll see the light and have an epiphany and vote for Barack, but I doubt it.

Where did Rev. Wright go or how about Michelle? Did they go on vacation?

The advocates who think that Bayh is going to unify the party are really kidding themselves. There are democrats for Obama and those against. Those of us who do not support Obama will not support him no matter who is on the ticket. While I'm not going to run and vote for a republican, I will not suport someone I do not believe in either, just because he's a democrat. Obama is running on arrogance and rhetoric. You would have thought that we would have learned after G.W. Bush, but apparently not. Obama is just a democratic version of G.W. Bush.

Bush.

Once all the "undecideds" get a look at McCain in the debates, it won't matterif Obama picks Mickey mouse for the VP spot. McCain's getting slaughtered in the elections, thank God.

I am so thoroughly SICK of Obama that I turn the TV off every time he comes on, just like I do with Bush. It used to be enough just to hit the mute button, but even that doesn't cut it anymore.
