Watch Paris Hilton’s message for McCain

(CNN) — Paris Hilton has fired back in response to presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain's "Celeb" ad comparing the 27-year-old heiress to Barack Obama.

The less-than-two-minute spot was paid for by the comedy video Web site, funnyordie.com. It features Hilton sprawling in a lounge chair in a swimsuit. The socialite mocks McCain's ad, saying, "I want America to know that I'm, like, totally ready to lead."

What are Hilton's thoughts on energy policy? She says her position is a "hybrid" of Obama and McCain's. "Energy crisis solved," the heiress declares.

Related: How did Paris Hilton's response come about?

Hilton, who's built a career out of being a celebrity, also reveals her pick for vice president and plans while in office. "I'm thinking Rihanna. I'll see you at the White House. Oh, and I might paint it pink. I hope that's cool with you guys," she says.

"I'm Paris Hilton and I approve this message because I think it's totally hot."

The McCain camp responded to Hilton's ad Tuesday. "It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America's energy crisis – including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan," says McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.

The Paris ad was funny! And made sense. Good for her for giving us a little bit of humor!

Yeah…… "McCain is right on the money" sure he is! Let's see what the Republicans & Bush/Cheney have done for the last 8 years:

Our nation debt has doubled………. to $10 TRILLION, RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

We are spending $1.38 BILLION A DAY IN THE WAR WITH IRAQ! RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

The GOP had been in CHARGE in CONGRESS FROM 1994-2006, DURING THEIR WATCH THEY DID NOTHING…. NOTHING TO DEAL WITH THE IMPENDING ENERGY CRISIS! RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

THE GOP HAS LIED TO START A WAR WITH IRAQ, A COUNTRY THAT DID NOT ATTACK US! RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

OUR TROOPS HAVE DIED FOR OIL………. SAD TRAGIC……..TRUE! AND 30 THOUSAND HAVE BEEN MAIMED! NOT TO MENTION THE THOUSANDS WHO COME HOME DEPRESSED ENOUGH TO COMMIT SUICIDE………..BUT HEY, "RIGHT ON THE MONEY!"

YESTERDAY THE BOOK BY SUSKIND CAME OUT, CLAIMING THAT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION INDEED LIED ABOUT IRAQ!

NIXON AND CLINTON WERE IMPEACHED FOR MUCH, MUCH LESS!

NO WONDER MCBUSH DOES NOT WANT CHENEY ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THE CONVENTION!

OH……..AND LET'S NOT FORGET ABOUT THE ENRON LOOPHOLE!
THANKS MCCAIN…….ERR…….BUSH!

Once again, we've seen John McCain make another bad call. This time he's attacked a daugther of a major corporation who has supported his campaign. Over and over again, Mccain continue to make bad judgement calls… May I remind the American people of McCain dealing with Keating during the Fedral Home Loan Bank investigation. Not to mention-leaving his first wive after an major car accident. BAD JUDGEMENT!!!!

We need a President will be able to handle pressure and make sound judgement calls for the American people. John McCain is not that guy!!!

There you go McCain -you get PWNED by a celebrity named Paris Hilton. This is outrageous and is a true sign of elitism!!!!

You Obama supporters are really cute with your variations of Sen. McCain's name. Yet you will complain that he does nothing but sling mud. Is that the best you can do? Or is it simply because you know Obama has zero experience to run this country so you have to resort to making fun of his name? John McCain has served this country well his entire life. Obama needs to come back in a few years when he grows up and gets some experience. THEN he may be qualified to be our President.

Hey I'm voting for the man who was a POW and refused to say what the Vietcong wanted him to say for early release. He is honest.

Another McCain swipe at Obama backfires, how funny.

How much more foolish can this man's campaign look?

Yesterday he was offering up his wife for a beauty contest at Sturgis, not even realizing that this "contest" includes fondling a banana and toplessness, among other things much too sensitive for values oriented Republicans for me to post on this site.

He now comes across as a doddering fool. We've already have one now in the White House, we certainly don't need another.

dummycrats   August 6th, 2008 9:58 am ET

That is the question.

Nick, NY   August 6th, 2008 9:58 am ET

The fact that there are people who are defending Sen. McCain's behavior is saddening. Some of the comments on here that ignore the story entirely and just take a jab at Paris Hilton or Sen. Obama are also saddening. I would hope that the U.S.A. has learned a valuable lesson [or two] from electing President Bush, twice. Are you, the eligible voters, going to tell the world that whoever is the most fiercely negative campaigner wins? Isn't it time for something new? Isn't it time to try to hope again? Isn't it time to work to get ourselves on a better path? Bitter, tunnel-visioned, Clinton Supporters, racists, and the Far Right need not answer; your answers would most likely be saddening as well.

Timber (ex dem)   August 6th, 2008 9:56 am ET

Vote for Obama because I think it is hot. I bet a lot of people would. The presidency is becoming like a popularity contest instead of one of the most powerful, important job positions in the world. Why don't we just put Paris in there or Lindsay Lohan? It is getting ridiculous. What about the issues facing our people? It is ok for Paris and Obama to fool around but there are a lot of hungry people, people without health insurance, without jobs in this country. Let us not put an empty suit celebrity in the most important job in the world. Obama will tell you what you want to hear to get elected, we see that from the primaries. He has gone back on his words too many times to count.

If we could ever get unbiased reporting from the media, this video wouldn't be so funny because everyone would already know that the "all of the above" energy plan is exactly what John McCain is proposing. As far as her strict environmental controls for offshore drilling, go back and read about hurricane Katrina and see how much crude oil spillage there was in the Gulf during/after the storm.

Does Mccain see Moses as a celebrity? Moses was a charismatic leader and possessed all qualities of leadership. He knew how to reach out to his people and how and when to interceed for his people. He also knew how to talk to leaders of other nations on behalf of his people. That was what Obama stood for. Moses was never experienced,David was never experienced and all charismatic leader who lead in the book of judges were not experienced but called. That's why God has called Obama to deliever his people from Economic,Social and political logjam. Someone should tell Mccain to stop reading prepared text to the American. Let him stand up and talk to the Americans from his head. Is this how he is going to carry and read from prepared text to address other nations of the world? That'd be a slap to our face.

Nancy Volpe   August 6th, 2008 9:52 am ET

Fun response, Paris. I hope Cindy McCain is taking John McCain by the ear to the back of the room, and telling him he is making a fool of himself. At the end of an distinguished career to his country, he needs to be careful about lasting impressions.

Obama dragged us into the celbrity circus by basing his campaign on Oprah and Caroline and Rap stars and Rock stars.

He uses free concerts as a means to get people to "flock" to HIS rallies- I think it is the lure of free beer and free rock stars that draws the Obama crowd.

Oprah and Caroline won- STOLE – the nomination for Obama by creating rock star appeal and giving Obama the full weight of THEIR rock star appeal to his otherwise invisible campaign.

IT IS ALL ABOUT MEDIA ATTENTION STUPID.

Obama exploited that attention and gets peeved when McCain reminds all of us of it.

robb   August 6th, 2008 9:47 am ET

McCain would'nt recognize a good energy plan if it fell on him. After 26 years in the Senate, his plan consists of a gas tax holiday (I guess he abandoned that plan) and opening up coastal waters so oil companies can buy oil locally instead of paying to have shipped around the globe. So by the time the wrinkled white haired dude is long gone, we still have an energy crisis? We need a long term vision John, not a bandaid fix that sounds appealing to voters. Conservation and alternative sources are our only salvation in the long term. How long will this planet support human life?

It’s Obama for sure!!!

Dominique   August 6th, 2008 9:45 am ET

This was funny. Well played Ms. Hilton.

Of course Senator Obama already said he was willing to compromise on off-shore drilling as long as it was a part of a comprehensive energy plan. It appear that Ms. Hilton was just reiterating Senator Obama's plan while again Senator McCain is a day late and a dollar short.

McCain is now saying that tire gauges mdo reduce oil consumption. This combined with the fact that it was he who injected Paris Hilton into the campaign indicates not only lack of judgement but thousands of gauges that will be used to conserve as Obama suggestion will be utilized by more people.

McCain's plan for oil drilling sounds fine until one looks at the fact that US refineries are running at full capacity: thus, the oil drilled will have to be sold on the world market. More profits for oil companies, savings to Americans, questionable.

Nuclear power plants require a rigourous lisencing procedure, as they should of 3-4 years and 3-4 years once you find a neighbourhood that will accept one.

the only reason the Republicans want congress to come back and rule on the drilling issue is because it is time for them to pay their daddy, Big Oil. I'm kind of glad she did that little spiff (as much as I can't stand the way she portrays herself any other time). I don't like how any politician relates themselves to celebrities to try and get more votes, and I think that is what these two are trying to do. Hopefully what Paris did will deter them from that mentality? This is truly the first election that I have followed very, very closely and I am unbelievably sick with the way they squabble! It is childish and completely unprofessional. I don't want a president who cannot allow another person to speak their opinion without interrupting them to speak their own. It's time to grow up boys you're with the big dogs now. Now that "Lil' Bush" is done, we need TRUE leaders to step up to the plate. Leave the boys club at the White House Gates.

The ad has shown all that Mccain can offer. He has NOTHING more to offer. Someone should let Mccain know that Obama is not a celebrity like paris or britney, but a presidential candidate of the most populous Nation in the world. The real issue is that mccain does not possess the charisma of a leader to lead a great country like America and he is jealous of that. America CANNOT be headed by any president who does not possess leadership charisma, strong and vibrant, determination, zeal and courage and above all the ability to co-ordinate not only the citizen of the great country but also other nations of the world. this Obama had and more.we want a president who will bring America back to it's revere position which Obama's tour gave us a glimse of.

This ad just spelled out the truth and unfortunately with the intelligence of Americans you have to do it in an ad like this to get the true message across. I would NEVER consider Paris a superstar. She is a spoiled little rich kid that wants attention. Hey this made her look better than her visit to jail. Her ad was really stupid and to bring up McCain being old is such a ridiculous notion. President Reagan was 70 years old and served two terms and did an awesome job. People get over it.

"that swhat mccain gets for playing the race card"

Get your FACTS straight.

Obama is the ONLY one that has played the RACE card in this election.

Obama played it against Hillary 4 or was it 5 times

Obama played it in Germany.

And Obama contiues to play it against McCain.

I'm not a Paris Hilton fan but she sounded a lot more Presidential than John McCain.

Did you listen to McCain yesterday? How many mistakes does this man make in the average day?

Drill now, right away, immediately and today all in the same sentence by McCain.

Rainbow1001001   August 6th, 2008 9:28 am ET

Paris has the guts to speak up to the McCain's camp. I respect her. She has more brain than alot of McCain people. Her energy plan is closer to that of Obama and it is sensible, unlike that of McCain's. McCain's straight talk express must have all the wheels twisted – now McCain has offered his wife to be the"Miss Buffalo Chip", to make her a celebrity?

obama is the most dangerous man alive   August 6th, 2008 9:28 am ET

The has-been Hilton's didn't have a word to say when obama announced to the entire world that his daughters didn't like paris hilton or b.spears. Paris, if you and your mother want to see totally worthless…..then both need to look in the mirror.

Tired of W, OH   August 6th, 2008 9:28 am ET

Thank you, Kathy, for being an informed voter. Domestic drilling is not the answer. It would do nothing to bring down prices. We need to get away from oil by pumping big money into development and production of plug-in hybrid vehicles (and make them affordable). Currently, McCain and Bush claim they are for alternative energy and fuel-efficient vehicles, but it's just lip service. They will not put their money where their mouths are. They just hand it over to Big Oil.

WAKE UP AND VOTE OBAMA BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

McCAIN wouldn't know a good debate if it jumped up & bit him on his a–!!! He is sooooooooo incompetent when it comes to making a speech.

I've had training as a military officer & he really should be better at this!!!

Not to mention he's been in Washington pretending to care about the average American FOREVER (longer than most of our fellow military heroes who died in IRAQ had here on this earth, before they were killed in McCAIN & BUSH'S Senseless WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

I just can't stomach another 4 years of a President who blunders every time he speaks & makes a fool of himself smirking & grinning like a monkey.

Can we PLEASE elect an intelligent, well-spoken representative of all Americans instead of these ultra-rich idiots who must have BOUGHT THEIR COLLEGE DEGREES from a STREET PEDDLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As an Obama supporter, I hope McCain continues his juvenile acts. I hope his campaign remains in blissful ignorance. It will only serve to shore up more support for Obama. At a time when our country is facing its most toughest times, McCain thinks that jokes are the way to persuade Americans that he is the best candidate to lead our country.

Keep the juvenile attacks coming, McCain. I'll make my reservations to be in D.C. for Obama's inauguration.

McCain is awesome, such a funny guy. The problem with Obama is he doesn't want to upset anyone. He'll flip and flop to make anyone support him, apologize to GERMANY (of all countries) for our mistakes, and even have peaceful talks with Wackajob over in Iran. Barack Hussein Obama Mama will not get to the White House. It's already showing in the polls.

mario   August 6th, 2008 9:19 am ET

ok look, stop the lying, it really is more like Obama's plan…and who really cares exept he is lying again….She specifically said a little oil drilling, with the most forcus on alternative energy…
Mccain is all oil and nuclear…. pls note Obama's plan has been on his website since at least Feb 08, at least tha tis when I found it….
John Mccain had minimal internet presence at the time and only in recent months has update dhis site ot include greel initiatives…When I first saw his commercials i was liek he is stealing Obama's positions..which this is not th efirst he has jumped all on.

billy depp   August 6th, 2008 9:18 am ET

To cover up there candidates total lack of experience and judgment, Obama's peeps can only resort to nicknames and derogatory remarks on McCain's age so I guess the ad worked. It has brought attention to Obama in a category that he has nothing…..experience. Many Democrats are now upset we chose a celebrity over substance. Too bad we picked the loser again,.it's like John Kerry all over again but this time we have a racist preacher, an un-patriotic first lady to be, and a flip flopping African American fly by night hack. I suspect many white voters to switch when they see the emperor has no clothes. Blacks will stick with Obama regardless of his policies like they did with the crack smoking Marion Barry. Whites will wake up in time not to make a serious mistake for our country. Draft Hillary at convention….oh I see Obama has now also flipped on the FL and Michigan delegates….how utterly Obama-like! The guy is a schmuck!

The mentally of the Hiltons & the Obamacans! Paris' mother gets upset about this tape.????? What about the tape that shows Paris with her ankles behind her ears?

Rather a funny ad about Obama than a misleading ad about McCain, the 2 million in oil company donation and voting of tax breaks to the oil moguls.

The Obama camp conveniently failed to mention that Obama also received over $400K in donations from the oil companies and as far as the tax breaks, McCain voted against and Obama voted for!

Quit your whinning, you boo-hoo Obamacans!

McCain should have known that Paris Hilton would respond to the ad. Eventhough I don't care for Paris, I disapprove of the McCain campaign comparing she and Spears to Obama. In case McCain doesn't know; Hilton and Spears are in the entertainment field, while Obama is in the poltical field. Why didn't his ad feature any male actors? Sounds to me as if he is calling all women stupid. But then again, when someone who is running for President runs this type of ad it only tells you about that individuals character. Stupid is as Stupid does.

"Brobama dot org "covers this sort of stuff in an interesting way too for more discussion. This whole election has become a circus for republican dirty attacks and it needs to be discussed in a way that everyone can relate to…something the popular media can't always do.

When McCain says that he "was just having fun" with the negative ads about Senator Obama, I want to scream. That is the excuse people make when they "make fun" of persons with disabiliites, visible minorities, etc. It is not funny at all. In fact it isn't intended to be funny, its intended to be insulting and McCain knows that. The man is a sleaze in idiot's clothing.

Obama's Proctologist   August 6th, 2008 9:12 am ET

Obama, I found your head. Prescription: Pull it out.

It's obvious that even Paris, the dumb-and-famous-for-no-reason-blonde, can see that we need to do everything possible (if she knew the word 'comprehensive' she might have used it) to get our dependence off from foreign oil and solve the energy crisis. She says it perfectly…why don't we do BOTH!? Hello, that IS McCain's stance!!!

How do we rid ourselves of foreign oil/natural gas? 1) Drill/Pump it ourselves (Drops Oil/Natural Gas Futures now/Secures Oil/Natural Gas later) 2)Build vehicles/plants that use LESS in the first place (Mid-term) 3)Build vehicles/plants that use only renewable/alternative sources (Long-term)

Then, when we are off oil/natural gas because we've already started drilling and don't need it, we can EXPORT it to the world(China/India), raising our GDP/Economy.

It's called COMPREHENSIVE, Obama. Obama's approach? Why drill now? We won't see anything for 10yrs? Hey, why save for retirement now, we won't see anything for 10yrs either.

Bush removed the executive block for drilling off-shore. Just doing that made Oil futures plummet 20 straight days in a row now. Why? Because the potential for higher supplies of Oil just went up because a roadblock has been removed. Drilling now would only produce Oil/Gas in 10 years, says Obama. THAT"S THE FUTURE!! That is what drives Oil Futures prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More oil supply in the future, drives prices now!!!!!

Jay   August 6th, 2008 9:05 am ET

Any one who thinks Paris has a better energy plan than Obama is as stupid as John McCain. How can you talk about drilling for more oil and climate change at the same time? And by the way, let us ask the people of AZ and John McCain if they want nuclear plants built on their backyards.
Remember the nuclear plants McCain is talking about will be built in your state. If you are ok with it, then vote for McCain

Richard   August 6th, 2008 9:04 am ET

Answer: The usual McNothing.

All you McCain supporters and PUMA's need to review the clips from the Bikers' Convention and his Townhall meetings.. As one who has studied and is studying cognitive processing deficits, I have ntoiced that Senator McCain is having difficulties in the areas of memory recall and oral expression. I am a special education teacher. These difficulties may not be a functionof age. I know older who men and women are menally very sharp. Something is going on with Senator McCain and I recommend that you pay close attention to his behavior and and how he orally communicates. Senator Obama did Senator McCain a huge favor by not subjecting him to those Townhall meetings. The more I see Senaor McCaoin on TV, the more evidence I see of his cogntive processing difficulties. I am not throwing a rock at Senator McCain. I am expressing what I hae observed. I am very concerned.

You know it's a bit of funny & sad, just when the rest of the world had hope that America has waken up to the challenges and expectations of her founding fathers, only to see a political campaign misdirection – now using the weaknesses of celebrities (her own citizens) to fight better opponents.

If it was because of jealousy it might still be understandable, but for mockery, i must admit, someone(claims to have untouchable foreign policy) has learn nothing.

Paris is just a younger version of Cindy McCain – using their family money to live the good life.

That said, I think Paris is a lot smarter than she lets on, because she has been able to successfully market her image (brand) to make a lot of money. Even here, she used John McCain's stupid ad to get herself back into the spotlight. You Repubs should admire her capitalist ingenuity.

The McCain campaign should hire her writers, because theirs are awful.

NObama 08   August 6th, 2008 8:59 am ET

Like it really matters what Paris Hilton has to say or think. She is only concerned about her ability to shop and party. Obama is nothing more than a show boater who is trying to boost his world image. If he really cared about the people, he would not push socialized health care or windfall taxes. In the end who reallly pays? Do you people think that because big oil might get taxed we can force lower prices? Think about it. Higher taxes mean higher prices for services! Before you limit our oil, there has to be a viable source of alternative fuel available for the public. All you Obama supporters need to wake up and take a dose of reality!

Jay   August 6th, 2008 8:57 am ET

Compared to John McCain, I am sure that she (Paris) is not siding with McCain, she just feels sorry for him, with his grand fatherly appearance. Maybe she is amused by crazy geriatrics.

McCains town hall meetings, are boring, I turn the television on mute when a segment comes on with John McCain going on about nothing!!!

If John McCain wants to achieve something, he should try adding some substance to his campaign. I am tired of hearing about energy, what about the Economy? Health Care? Maybe someone should drill that into McCains mind so he catches on to what counts in this election!!!!!!!!!!

Shawn - Ga   August 6th, 2008 8:49 am ET

How is this firing back… you folks don't see the genius of this?? The Hilton's are just strengthening what the original ad said. Read between the lines folks, this is a perfect follow up ad in true Paris Hilton style.

1) She got out what McCain has been saying as far as his plans for energy despite the Obama campaign trying to cloud the issue. She named exactly what McCain has been saying about the drilling and his energy ideas as far as "mixing" the two ideas.

2) She reached the younger audience who for the time being are behind the rock star… pretty much saying she is as ready as Obama.

3) She bring the whole original ad back into the mainstream media, and the McCain camp got to respond but didn't bring it up themselves.

Don't think for a second this was a "mock" it was a perfectly planned and executed

Axel   August 6th, 2008 8:48 am ET

Its funny how the Republican party mantra is Obama lacks experience, a guy who spent 7-8 years in the Illinois State Senate and 10 years as a CONGRESSIONAL PROFESSOR and a proponent of community outreach programs.

Meanwhile, McSame who has been snoring on the job in the Senate the last 27 years has accomplished oh so much.

Where were all these cries for experience when they jubilantly elected Reagan ? huh ? IDIOTS.

Legal Alien   August 6th, 2008 8:47 am ET

I am really confused:
There are just 2 political parties in the US and none of them offer a clear path to solve Americans problems.
Both parties as well as the many posts I have read try to put the C R A P on the others yard and there is no positive evaluation of what is going on.
Why don't you guys say what would you like to do to solve this Gas Crisis, Drill more, Rule the Market or Drill more which at the long run will take prices down and go for alternative fuels like Alcohol + Gasoline.
Countries like Brasil in the 3rd world use combination called Alco_Nafta which has up to 30% of alcohol, imagine what will that make in the short run to our providers when demand reduces on 30% from the top consumer.
Yes it is true China and India will get the oil produced as excedent, if our business man keep trying to explote people in countries like comunist china and poor India, grab your underwear and read the tab MADE IN CHINA right?
Even our troussers are made there, then we claim that the economy is damaged.
What sort of intelligence we claim.

THINK PEOPLE THINK….

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   August 6th, 2008 8:47 am ET

I don't know what Tucker Bounds is smoking, but he is completely wrong on Paris Hilton supporting McCain. She is making the statement that the "white haired guy is endorsing me." I don't think that she currently knows enough about the race to actually make much of a claim on anything except that McCain might be endorsing her for president.

It was a foolish choice to compare any active member of the House or Senate to a clearly question celebrity like her.

Florida John   August 6th, 2008 8:47 am ET

Paris has about as much talent and brains as the 125,000 apes they just found. There are some people who walk around without any brains or sense. She qualifies as the leader of the pack.

It is interesting that she can even put 2 thoughts otgether. Talk about a waste of time, effirt and money……

I think Mccains point is made by all the responses her. Who care about the blonde bimbo ….except you guys.

You know, this country is in trouble losing jobs, houses, and all else. And the multi-millionaires of this country go around making jokes. I find them offensive,. Glad I switched from republican. They are the party of the rich for the rich.

Millie Gee   August 6th, 2008 8:44 am ET

In response to don kinstler – you should go research what a TelePrompTer is? You should read for yourself and not just accept what the McCain campaign tells you. It is a display device that prompts the person speaking with an electronic visual of a speech. If you knew that, then you'd know that you can't set it up to provide answers to questions, unless you are in an audience where the set up is rigged to ask certain questions.

Go vote for McCain, if he wins, America deserves what it gets. At least Obama is treating the American voters as if they are intelligent. McCain treats them as being dumb.

Why do we not hear from the people of Arizona regarding how McCain does his work. I hear they are partitioning to get him ousted from his post when he loses to Obama. Besides, I don't want a president whos going to die of old age, two years into office and then some No-Name VP run the country.

this was a waste of time and money on McCain's part. I do wish they would stop with the negative campaign rhetoric and get on with some real solutions to the problems. Drew   August 6th, 2008 8:28 am ET

The only part of Paris's plan I don't think is right is the whole "drill more to help now while we find energy resources for the future". More drilling right now won't do us much good until several years from now, and we'll likely have better energy sources already in the bag before we need any of that oil. I say "alternative energy first, and leave the drilling for later, because the hope of finding more oil in the ground only lessens the incentive to find better ways."

Still, a smart move for Paris and Funny or Die. It made her actually seem less like a vapid socialite and more like a hot girl with a sense of humor about herself.

Slightly off topic, but John McCain should stop "pimping" his wife when he goes any and everywhere. Why is it necessary for his wife ("looking like a deer in headlights") to stand on stage with him when he's making a political speech to a a group of supporters? Why does she have to be on camera. I'm all for the wife supporting the candidate and being present, but in front of the camera? Does he think that her presence makes him look less old? NOT !!! He's old, he can't change that! How ignorant are McCain supporters?? Don't answer that…..Nancy in NC

The fascination with Obama amazes me. Here's a man with absolutely no accomplishments either as an Illinois senator or a U.S. senator. If someone took Obama's teleprompter away he couldn't answer any serious question with a simple coherent answer. I live in Illinois and while he was an Illinois senator, he voted "present " over 130 times on controversial issues. Obviously, he doesn't want anyone to know what he stands for. What good is any politician who votes present? To me, he doesn't have any principles and he sold his vote to the highest bidder (don't vote for or against a measure and he receives some kind of payback). To me, his life long relationships with American terrorists like Bill Ayers, Louis Farrakhan and radicals like his pastor Jeremiah Wright define who he is. I believe you will be like the crowd you "run with".

M. Felder   August 6th, 2008 8:18 am ET

Saw the ENTIRE spot and Paris was right on!! The old wrinkly white haired guy is the oldest celebrity on the planet. And comparing him to the Crypt Keeper is right on target!! And as far as Drill Drill Drill goes:
The Department of Energy estimates that there are eighteen billion barrels of technically recoverable oil in offshore areas of the continental United States that are now closed to drilling. This sounds like a lot, until you consider that oil is a globally traded commodity and that, at current rates of consumption, eighteen billion barrels would satisfy less than seven months of global demand. A D.O.E. report issued last year predicted that it would take two decades for drilling in restricted areas to have a noticeable effect on domestic production, and that, even then, “because oil prices are determined on the international market,” the impact on fuel costs would be “insignificant.”

Jeff   August 6th, 2008 8:14 am ET

Paris Hilton is a total moron and I am completely stumped as to why America seems to be obsessed with her. And we wonder why our children are screwed up? Hilton has no morals, no character, and really, no brains. Her parents should be ashamed to have this little nothing of a human being as their offspring.

Mike   August 6th, 2008 8:13 am ET

Paris, go back to bed. You seem better suited there.

Eddie D   August 6th, 2008 8:13 am ET

I cannot believe that McCain is running to be president. Nobody could be as stupid as he is with the ads he allows to be put out.
He tries to put his wife in a topless contest, because he didn't know what it was. He ridiculed Obama for saying , keep your tire pressure right. He didn't know that saves gas. Of course when you are rich, you don't worry about these things.
Have you ever noticed McCain rarely goes anywhere without his Barbie Doll plastic faced wife? She is as bad as he is. Why don't she get smart and tell him to start talking about the issues, and quit with the jokes. All the comedians out of work, and this idiot McCain trying to be one. The GOP had better find a new candidate, this one is ready for the nut house.
If McCain is going to stay in the race, he needs to look at those around him. They are making him look like an idiot. Tucker Bounds is the stupidest man on earth to not face the issues, and stop all this bashing. People are getting tired of it. That is except the racists. Why doesn't McCain talk about the economy? Because he and his group think it's in good shape.
I really feel sorry for this country if McIdiot is elected.

McCain's doesn't even know when practical fun is poked at them. Pity! Pity!! Pity!!!

This is a typical example of being 'DUMB'.

When u compare McCain's ads & Obama's, it's crystal clear that Obama has the message & of course the judgement to lead, but McCain's age seems to becloud his judgement (if any) that he doesn't even know when he and his camp are derailing.

Jeffrey   August 6th, 2008 8:07 am ET

I've read a lot about the Bush family sense of humor—stupid crap they used to pull all the time on media people, etc.—how it's juvenile at best, unfunny, etc. Seems like McCain, once a man of principle (or at least he was able to project a false front of it), has become a Bushie in yet another way, this amazingly childish jerk. The people that work for him are like schoolyard bullies. Every time they open their yaps they make themselves and McCain look worse. Every Obama supporter needs to let every friend they have, especially on the fence, know about every one of these remarks they hear coming from the McCain camp so they'll know what kind of person they'd be electing if they vote for him.

Deborah Seate   August 6th, 2008 8:07 am ET

The McCain camp appears to be unable to offer any fresh, new ideas. Instead even for their campaign ads they are limited to refreshing an over-used Reagan debating strategy. The McCain ad putting Obama in the same league as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears is a perfect illustration of how McCain is just a re-packaging of the "same old same old".

McCain's camp has made it clear that they don't know how to go toe-to-toe with Obama and factually discuss what is best for America in both the short and long term.

bob wallace   August 6th, 2008 8:07 am ET

What in the hell is up with McCain and his campaigh staff ?

Duane   August 6th, 2008 8:05 am ET

To me, McCain made a huge mistake comparing Obama to Paris (a has been that he has helped, like pouring water on sea-monkeys), when clearly it should have been Miley Cyrus!

If anything, he is more like Paris Hilton (especially his wife) than Obama. Talk about spoiled brats? Both of them deserve each other. McCain was doing his decades old Paris before he could even divorce his sick, model wife that got too fat for him while he was in Vietnam! The only reason he went into politics, is because he couldn't "stand" fill his old daddy's footsteps (an Admiral)..Sound familiar? When you can't make it in the military, or college (McCain ranked at the lowest percentile in college, just like George Jr…Those famous gentleman's C's), be the president. People will vote for you because they can vision themselves drinking beer and shopping at WalMart with them! How pathetic and easily entertained the lemmings are!

Tony   August 6th, 2008 8:05 am ET

John McCain, Paris Hilton. Perfect couple. Both arrogant, self-absorbed, ignorant wannabe's.

Sammy   August 6th, 2008 8:03 am ET

I find neither McCain's nor Ms Hilton's ads funny. I'm rather fearful that negative campaigning might win the day and we'll find ourselves in similar, if not worse, situation that we are in now. Eight years ago the Republicans used negative tactics to get Bush into office. In 2004 they employed the same strategy and look what we are suffering. People should be smart and not fall for such gimmicks.

Deb, Allentown, PA   August 6th, 2008 8:01 am ET

Sorry, one more post. I'll say it again.

Obama is not against nuclear power. There are spent fuel rod storage issues that have yet to be addressed. Yucca Mountain has been in place for over 20 years and still isn't a viable storage facility. Where are we going to store radioactive spent fuel rods? I'm sure the Republican answer is "well, it won't affect me because I'll be long dead, so I don't really give a rat's behind".

Obama has supported nuclear power with the condition that the storage issues are addressed satisfactorily. Please get it right.

The DUMB McSame campaign does not know she is poking fun at him. Such ignorance by the retard campaign!

Barack For President- An Energy Plan We can Believe In!   August 6th, 2008 8:00 am ET

HILARIOUS!! And, just what John McCain and his idiotic campaign deserve! What's even more comical than anything that's happened, is that I can't believe the McCain camp even responded to Paris Hilton's t.v. ad. For everyone that wants to call Paris Hilton "empty" or "stupid", she has managed to take the attention from the McCain camp and again has all the world looking at her again!!! Now, who's empty or stupid? Touche` Paris for at least presenting an energy plan, seems like only you and Senator Obama have a plan! And, a VP pick, Rhiana who is both goregous and intelligent! I'm just waiting for the McCain camp to make a RESPONSE AD to Paris' rebuttal ad. Everyone, go on the "funny or die" site and see the ad, it is hilarious with McCain and the Golden Girls!

Oh, and did I mention that in the meantime, Senator Obama not only cares about the American people, but he has presented an energy plan to America to help create solutions to our energy crisis?

Crush Rush   August 6th, 2008 8:00 am ET

John McCain claimed the anthrax was tied to Iraq before the war, he was lying again to get us involved.

Lorna, NY   August 6th, 2008 7:59 am ET

Tucker Bounds is a straight up IDIOT!

CL OT   August 6th, 2008 7:58 am ET

You have to admit, she does have a better enery plan than Obama. That guy has no clue what to do and he changes his mind every week. Obama is all hype just like most celebs.

Akhorahil   August 6th, 2008 7:58 am ET

McCain is an idiot and you can't even spell ad?

priceless.

Aaron from Battleground Ohio   August 6th, 2008 7:58 am ET

My respect for Paris Hilton just increased by 200% (I didn't have much respect for her before so this is a real change). The fact that she was willing to get off of her butt to respond to a ridiculous ad that made fun of her impresses me.
Maybe she'll support Barack and cancel out Mommy's vote.

some guy in New Hampshire   August 6th, 2008 7:58 am ET

How much more trivial can McCain's people make this campaign. Why go tit-for-tat (sorry about that) with a waste of space like Paris Hilton? Don't these people have any dignity or sense? I'm, like, totally sick of the McCain approach to this campaign and I hope he and his people get this message.

Janet WV for Obama   August 6th, 2008 7:58 am ET

I was shocked that Tucker was so out of touch with reality that he actually thought the ad was supportive of McCain.

after losing my job and my house i am diappointed at john mccain for turning this election into a joke, the joke will be on him come november.

Deb, Allentown, PA   August 6th, 2008 7:56 am ET

I find it interesting that CNN completely ignored the important news that Cindy McCain could be elected as the First Lady and Miss Buffalo Chip in the same year.

It is incredible that no attention was paid to the fact that McCain offered up his wife to participate in a topless contest. He, or his lackeys, either didn't know or care to know that it was topless, or they knew it and he tastelessly offered her up anyway.

Had Obama done this, the far right would be howling about the lack of morality and the PUMA supporters would be howling about his mistreatment of women. Yet McCain is permitted to emerge unscathed in the eyes of CNN viewers. Oh wait, CNN viewers eyes never saw it – of course he emerged unscathed.

Where, oh where, is the unbiased news reporting that we as Americans deserve?

Funny, enjoyable, and a more successful attempt at humor than the Old Dude can pull off.
Just enjoy it. It was a very well done spoof on a very poor campaign ad by McCain.
We have way too much cable coverage, so this was a great relief from the repeats every 15 min of the same ol', same ol' on every cable news outlet 24/7.
Paris, you go girl

Molly Weasley   August 6th, 2008 7:53 am ET

Paris beats McCain in the taste department AND the energy department. Just like all of McCain's other plans, there are no details to his energy plan whatsoever besides "drill, drill, drill."

No plan on the economy and no plan on health care. But at least he's finally come around to Obama's way of thinking on Iraq and Afghanistan.

Phyllis Johnson   August 6th, 2008 7:50 am ET

I've switched my vote — Paris for President. She makes more sense than that "wrinkly old man" and will probably stand steady on her ideas, unlike Obama.

McCain is really confused.GOD SAVE AMERICA!

ClockWorkOrange   August 6th, 2008 7:41 am ET

Paris has a better energy plan than McCain or Obama. Also, the White House totally needs some remodeling–her idea to paint it pink is pure genius. I think it also needs some glitter. Lots of glitter.

Sean   August 6th, 2008 7:40 am ET

So let me get this straight – McCain uses Paris to trash Obama, then Paris, in a rare show of good taste, manages to turn the situation into something humorous, and McCain comes crawling back and praises her to trash Obama?

Well, I'm not so sure Paris beats Obama in the energy dept, but she sure crushes McCain in the humor election. Which is pretty significant, considering McCain's campaign has been nothing but one big, bad joke.

*head explodes*

McCain 08
Better than Bush

Robert   August 6th, 2008 7:37 am ET

It's easy to have a better plan than John McCain…because he has never had one. His goal appears to be to "Stick with Big Oil"…Drill, Drill and Drill some more.
Obama is the only one that has a plan to develop another Engergy Source and do away with our need for Oil altogerther. Rather than developing more oil wells for Big Oil to exploit, let any further drilling be a temporary measure while we develop another Energy Souce altogether.
Now that makes sense and will free this country from the grip that foreign Oil countries have had on us for the past 30 years (McCain's bygone do nothing era).

W.H. Thomas   August 6th, 2008 7:37 am ET

Tucker needs to pay attention to his own canidates energy policy… I think everyone knows McCain wants unlimited drilling off our coast, he says so everyday. He also wants to build 40 something additional new nuclear plants. Its Obama who has taken the all of the above approach. Tucker needs to get it right.

Geoff   August 6th, 2008 7:36 am ET

McCain's campaign (is McCain really in charge anymore?) wanted to tie Paris and Brittany to Obama ….

What a hoot! When people hear about Paris, all they think of is McCain's silly ad (even McCain's mother said it was silly) –

Who looks more foolish now? It isn't Obama! McCain won't even be able to visit Paris France without reminding us all of his fall into the slimy swamp of Republican politics.

Didn't McCain promise us a campaign based on the issues? Did he forget, change his mind or just lie to us ???

Utah Lady   August 6th, 2008 7:31 am ET

I saw her response ad. Sad to say, Paris Hilton made more sense than McCain ever has. And this guy wants to be the leader of the country? The country, and it's citizens, deserve better. No thanks, McCain, we don't need you. We'd be better off without you.

Deb, Allentown, PA   August 6th, 2008 7:15 am ET

The McCain Camp apparently didn't watch this response from Paris Hilton as it was pretty obvious to all but the moronic that she was not being complimentary to him, referring to him as a wrinkly white guy who's "the oldest celebrity in the world, like super-old, old enough to remember when dancing was a sin and beer was served in a bucket".

I guess you can give them credit for making lemonade out of lemons, but that's about all for which I'll give them credit.

Her ad was great and it showed just how out of touch McCain and the republicans are concerning the real issues facing the US. It should be clear to any person who has half a brain that the way out of our problems is to vote only DEMOCRATS.

rick in nc   August 6th, 2008 7:05 am ET

The McCain camp just doesn't get it! Their ad was rude, crude and uncalled for…not at all about important issues. Paris Hilton, for me and mine, is "like, nowhere". But, I admit, her spoof is funny.

Bill Stapp   August 6th, 2008 7:05 am ET

President Bush was not aware that gasoline was headed to $4.00 per gallon.

Senator McCain was not computer literate… didn't bother to use email or the internet.

The McCain campaign is evidently unaware of the difference that simple (though inconvenient) steps can help increase care mileage.

Some of these guys are out of touch. They have had people do everything for them in life and they are just not connected to what real life is for most of us.

They don't fill up they car with gas. Someone does it for them (and pays). They don't sent email. Someone does it for them. They might not even know how to check the air in a car tire or know what a tune-up is… or costs.

Senator Obama does.

SPQR753   August 6th, 2008 6:59 am ET

The ability of both McCain and his "brainy "advisers to come up with childish, irrelevant comments is simply mindboggling.

I, once, used to admire McCain, now I really feel sorry for him….

Cyndi   August 6th, 2008 6:59 am ET

Paris actually entertained us for the 1st time in our life. Who would have thought this chick had it in her…….America is in a dire need when the likes of Paris can make more sense than 'experienced' Republican crypt keeper.

McCain lame video = 200K

Paris response = 2 million in less than 24 hrs!

Wayne   August 6th, 2008 6:57 am ET

When a vapid publicity hound like Paris Hilton becomes the hero for the liberals and a poster girl for the Progressives, it shows how bankrupt we have become as a society. PATHETIC!

catjax   August 6th, 2008 6:53 am ET

All this silliness are so rediculous. Why are we entertaining or even pay attention to any of this? Our country is now in chaos, and requires a serious leadership in the whitehouse, and in congress. As americans, we better look deeply and examine these candidates., otherwise, it is only us to blame if we ever picked the wrong one. We should never go with our emotion, but with our good judgement.

Tucker did you not hear or read what she said?? She said "She says her position is a "hybrid" of Obama and McCain's. "Energy crisis solved," .

Like Obama said these guys "take pride in being ignorant"…
This line sums up the McSame Campaign in a nutshell, in fact it should be Obama's new theme towards all of their attacks, because it is sickening how MSM and you CNN are giving McCain a free ride..even on your political front page theirs a link "Fact Check.org …Fact Checking Obama's statements that has been their all week yet McCain has made false statements over and over everyday and we dont see a factcheck link for him on the front page for days…NO BIAS NO BULL…yeah right!!!

Kingslough NY.   August 6th, 2008 6:43 am ET

Repugs are just too plain arrogant. Hey americans, a survey was done and it came to the limelight that we (americans) are the most illiterate (no wonder we import the brains having none of our own) Am not surprised, the polls prove it often that we'd rather stay in the same position rather than embrace change which the whole world is hinting to us thru BHO's policies. Go Obama!

CB FOR OB   August 6th, 2008 6:37 am ET

Paris – you go, girl !! Ha, ha – it is funny. She does have talent, and brains, a sense of humor, and lots of money.

Putting her in his had helped Paris, and hurt McCain.

My 17 year old son Jesse said it best, in a disgusted tone of voice:

"This isn't a contest anymore. It's an angry old man yelling at Obama because he is winning."

I couldn't be happier with that – Obama 2008

belle in Lagos   August 6th, 2008 6:31 am ET

McCain is not showing the wisdom of his wrinkly, plastic old age. He ought to know better. To actually pick a fight with people (republicans mind you) that have money and have given you maximum campaign financial support is definitly not smart – so now the word is out ……… he hates celebrities.

Who is he gonna target next? michael Jackson? He should check out his own wife – she has a hilton look!

James   August 6th, 2008 6:31 am ET

I honestly spend atleast 10 mins of my day laughing at Republicans, if Paris Hilton is down too….thats pretty bad….good company you R voters are in huh…..? by the way thats pathetic that so less of you are paying attention to the presidential campaign, where is your head at, maybe alot of you have to get out of that drug induced coma your in. Lay off the pills maybe youll be able to think clearly aye? AND Obamas idea with the tires is just flat out common sense, if you dont understand that logic, i guess you should stick with mtv.

RW   August 6th, 2008 6:25 am ET

She should be happy for the publicity, she's a looser.

Celestine   August 6th, 2008 6:24 am ET

For John MCcain to use the daugther of one of his donors to deride his running mate tells you how far this man can think. I think America deserves better. An intelligent, and smart president. America, Sean Hanity and Rush Limbaugh make their money by dividing this country. I may not agree with Barack on every issues, but i think we deserve his ability and willingness to comprise to get thinks done. He has demonstrated this time and time again. He is not for ofshore drilling, but will accept a limited drilling, if this includes among others, pushing for higher gas mileage on cars, wind and biofuels among others. That is the leader America deserve.

DC   August 6th, 2008 6:21 am ET

I thought the ad was hilarious and paris had some sense in her

Tom   August 6th, 2008 6:19 am ET

Pretty good for Paris Hilton – I enjoy a good laugh as much as the next guy, but what I think this really exemplifies is the shallowness, self-centerness, and superficiality of her generation.

The whole reason for the McCain 'attack' or 'negative' ads is because Obama is afraid to debate McCain on the issues. The American public could really have a say in what they feel is important if both of these men would show up at the same town hall meeting. McCain proposed that months ago and Obama accepted 'in spirit' (this guy is increasingly afraid to commit to any statement after the embarrasment over the Surge).

For his people to respond that they made a counter-offer (a debate in the style of the Lincoln-Douglas campaign of 1860, where one guy speaks for an hour, the other guy for an hour and a half, then the first guy for the last half hour…with teleprompters?!?) is just subterfuge.

The real man that Obama is trying to hide is going to be revealed in the coming weeks, so hold onto your pants, because come the morning of November 5th, a lot of young people in this country are gonna be cryin' the blues…but that's OK because the sting of defeat and humiliation builds character… exactly what Obama and the "ME" generation needs.

Hillary Fan   August 6th, 2008 6:05 am ET

While the media (mostly Fox News) attacked Hillary because she was a woman, the Obama campaign did nothing against women. Here comes John McCain attacking two women as being stupid and drags them into politics without their will. Hillary's female supporters must see that the "Celeb" ad is an attack against women.

Noah   August 6th, 2008 6:05 am ET

This girl just craves attention and will take advantage of any oppurtunity..kinda like the people running the Obama campaign. I support Obama, but he is in the mud and I am concerned that he keeps getting off message and changing positions to suit the climate.

Inutah   August 6th, 2008 6:03 am ET

I've seen this clip three times now on TV and each time it doesn't show the beginning where the ad does the part about McCain being old and then the question…is he ready to lead. It shows it on the website… I wonder why?

Ex PUMA   August 6th, 2008 6:01 am ET

Has anybody realized that McCain's "Celeb" ad ridicules two prominent female citizens? Despite their mistakes and misfortunes, they are successful entertainers that deserve the respect of someone who seeks to represent them. I think McCain's attack on two women suggests that he is willing to do anything to get elected.

Politically Speaking   August 6th, 2008 5:54 am ET

To say Paris Hilton has a better energy plan shows that McCain's camp doesn't take Obama seriously. Didn't Hillary make that same mistake?

Janet   August 6th, 2008 5:47 am ET

Strangely, I found myself liking Paris Hilton…. I think I would be angry too if I were her. It seems unfair that her image can be used without her permission to express an opinion that may not be hers.

Soldier for OBAMA   August 6th, 2008 5:36 am ET

The McCain camp didn't even realized what Paris said, or they did and again so easily is parceing words into lie. She is saying OBAMA has the better policy, because in creating a Hybrid until we get advance fuel, we can keep drilling all around McCains ankle and maybe we might get a trickle. It is funny considering that JEB BUSH does not support off shore drilling while Governor of Florida, now he is out of office and George his brother and McCain are for it. IT IS THE BIGGEST GIMMICK and ignorant Americans are buying it. There is over 68 million acreas of on/off shore sites under the control of the Oil Industry and they are NOT DRILLING, because they want to control demands. They want the wells to run dry and American Oil will be ship across the world for huge profits. The IGNORANT Repubs are trying to make a scare about China Drilling off Cuba, baloney, for 27 years John McCain sit in Congress and do nothing, that is not courage nor leadership, nor been a Maverick. John McCain is a Manchurian Candidate and a Facist!

fmr. Hillary Supporter now for McCain   August 6th, 2008 5:33 am ET

that's funny. Obama says: World, look at Berlin and now Mrs. Hilton would say: "No, world, look at Paris!"
Oh come on. the once more childish and stupid reaction of the repugs shows something – Paris Hilton would be a better President than McShame ever could be!!!
Come on guys – give Obama your vote when it comes to Election Day.

Look at his positions: He speaks truth and lets facts speak!
and look at McBush: His energy "policy" is just a waist of time. Drilling, drilling, drilling… COME ON! No matter how much we wants to drill, he will get less than 1% (!!!) of the daily used oil. It's just shortterm trash, no plan so far from McSame, what long term policies he plans…
McCain is an old man, and his brain daily needs a check with the McCain air gauge – if there's still a little peace of intelligence into it….

Not quite sure based on the description I'd call this firing back persay…

I've got a novel concept for all of the candidates: local, national, and congressional- Try using common sense and compromise. I know it's all about your constituants, but when a 27 year old celebrity comes up with the revelation that you as our 'leaders' can't seem to grasp…well…perhaps it's time for you guys to find new jobs.

On a completely different note, I'm curious..have the oil company's and supportors explained to the 67% of people who want off-shore drilling how they intend to pay for the $300M oil rigs? I'm sure they plan to just take it out of their profits. They wouldn't raise the price of oil to pay for them…Would they ?

Atown   August 6th, 2008 4:42 am ET

God bless America!

malach hamovess   August 6th, 2008 4:41 am ET

If McCain had brought Paris Hilton with him to the Sturgis biker rally, he could have really made a hit; on the other hand, it might have cost him his beer-baroness wife.

carrie hussein obama   August 6th, 2008 4:36 am ET

maccain really has to grow up
all he and his stupid team do is criticize obama
if america wasnt filled with idiots who cant look beyond skin comour, obama would be way ahead now!!

carrie hussein obama   August 6th, 2008 4:27 am ET

ha ha ha
this is so funny
for once,i think paris is funny!

Kevin in Jax   August 6th, 2008 4:19 am ET

Paris Hilton demonstrates yet again why America hangs on her every word. But while it's expected to hear one of America's intellectual leading lights articulate such a clear and thoughtful energy plan, shouldn't we really be hearing it from the guys actually running for office?

republican   August 6th, 2008 4:14 am ET

MCCAIN ENERGY PLAN IS BLAH BLAH BLAH !!!!!

Jason   August 6th, 2008 4:12 am ET

This response is kind of funny, but not funny enough to justify the absurdity of a presidential candidate injecting vapid partygirls into the forefront of the political debate in the first place. I ignore most non-political, non-science news because it's just celebrity nonsense, and now I can't get away from it even here… thanks, John McCain.

Anu, Phoenix, AZ   August 6th, 2008 4:09 am ET

Give me a break! She was being sarcastic. She doesn't support any of McCain's plans. Is the McCain camp so desperate that they will deliberately ignore the heavy sarcasm and claim the support of Paris Hilton? And we are talking about the same Paris Hilton here, right? Totally hot. Not!

Don of Fairfax   August 6th, 2008 4:04 am ET

I'm sure he'll consider the source . . . a blond haired bimbo.

Tom   August 6th, 2008 4:03 am ET

After a week of the MSM talking about how Paris contributes nothing to society, she finally delivers something!

franck   August 6th, 2008 4:03 am ET

what a joke !

Emiel   August 6th, 2008 4:00 am ET

"It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America's energy crisis – including both alternatives and drilling."

How can anybody in their right mind say this after having spent days mocking the 'alternatives'. Again they're saying one thing (all of the above) while doing something completely different (none of the above but we will pump up the big company oil profits some more).

Nija   August 6th, 2008 3:50 am ET

I am really ashamed that McCain will go this low.

bruce   August 6th, 2008 3:36 am ET

Given how Paris was mocked by John, it's worth noting she returned the mocking by calling McCain "that white-haired, wrinkly guy." I know you in the press like to protect JM but let's have a little honesty, eh?

Oh well, as said by the Obama campaign in response to the Paris ad: "Whatever."

lynn   August 6th, 2008 3:33 am ET

The real story is McCain volunteering his wife for the topless Miss Buffalo Chip contest. McCain is really strange. I don't understand how he could suggest that about his wife.

am   August 6th, 2008 2:04 am ET

Good for her.

PS. I would love to know who the "new media" geniuses are at CNN are who let this post go up on a (so-called) blog without an embedded video or even a link to the video.

Wake up, CNN. It's not 1994 anymore.

Bethany in Nashville   August 6th, 2008 1:52 am ET

You know, normally I can't stand Paris Hilton… though the video is actually pretty funny.

Down with McWar   August 6th, 2008 1:47 am ET

Hey Paris did you read ucker Bounds says "Paris obviously has a better energy plan" .HUM
What a comment ?
Paris could you explain farther?

Independent Minded   August 6th, 2008 1:45 am ET

Again, an idiotic and untrue response from the lie machine that is the McCain campaign. CNN, why don't you call them out on their lies? Do you need Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch to make you feel inadequate again before you start to tell people how many lies and low end political schemes the McCain camp is using to try to win? Honestly, think about what you will say to yourself in ten years, and what you'll have to do to convince yourself it was right to sit out and not do your job to let the country know about McCain's blatant lies.

Ryan   August 6th, 2008 1:40 am ET

What a joke this campaign has become. Americans should be ashamed of how John McCain dragged this election into the gutter. Where are the serious policy discussions? The fate of nations are at stake and yet all we see is this trash??

keesa   August 6th, 2008 1:40 am ET

IM SORRY PUMA PAC BUT YOU ALL GOING T BE MAD WITH ME I KNOW WE HAD A TUFF FIGHT DURING THE PRIMARYS BUT IM SORRY I HAVE TO SWALLOW MY PRID AN BE GROWN UP FOR MY KIDS FUTURE ITS NOT ABOUT ME ITS ABOUT MY CHILDREN FUTURE TO, MCCAIN DOESNT STANDS FOR NOTHING AN FOR AS OBAMA NOT BEING IN THE SENATE FOR LONG TIME HE SOUNDS LIKE HES BEEN THERE LONGER THAN MCCAIN HAS BEEN. THIS PUMA PAC TURNS PUMOBAMA OBAMA 08!!!!!!!

Doris,Memphis,TN   August 6th, 2008 1:40 am ET

This is soooooooooooooo hot.

JimS.   August 6th, 2008 1:38 am ET

And the McCain camp responds with even more childish and juvenile blah-blah. Wise up, even Paris Hilton is smart enough to know you're useless.

Marj,Paso Robles, Cal   August 6th, 2008 1:38 am ET

Paris has more substance than the lies and stupidity from the Dumbama camp.

Paris/McCain 08

Dan   August 6th, 2008 1:37 am ET

Good for her.

RobWA   August 6th, 2008 1:36 am ET

HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!! The crypt keeper in there was simply HOT!!!

xddy4u   August 6th, 2008 1:30 am ET

All this is pure BS. What is not funny, is that McCain is a Dick Chaney clone. The both you can trust as far as you cam throw them, and that's not far. Vote McCain and you will get VP Chaney as President. You can quote me on that.

rem nice   August 6th, 2008 1:30 am ET

eat it mccain.

Paris   August 6th, 2008 1:28 am ET

CNN your headline is misleading , Why are you lying?
The ad is not attacking McCain. It actually emphasizes the all of the above approach that John McCain has.
Which includes drilling and nuclear power that OBAMA is against.

CNN STOP THE BIASED REPORTING.

Nick - Arlington, VA   August 6th, 2008 1:28 am ET

….the saddest part is how the McCain camp responded by bashing Obama…..the Hilton video was funny though…better than her other video "performance"…lol

Matt from Oreogn   August 6th, 2008 1:28 am ET

You know back when Clinton, Obama, and McCain were on WWE's Monday Night Raw I thought American Presidential politics had reached rock bottom, now we discovered it has yet to digg itself deeper. This is just pathetic, good job camp McCain, you've brought the biggest stupid, spoiled brat into the presidential politics by making a joke out of the process. Anyone who votes McCain out of be ashamed of themselves, they don't love America.

Honest Black Man   August 6th, 2008 1:25 am ET

She's got more foreign policy experience than Obama. LOL

PUMA!!!

Chris   August 6th, 2008 1:23 am ET

"Old Dude" – That is really funny. McCain, you keep making mistakes, even before becoming a president. Imagine you are the president. Holy Hell.

Tristan   August 6th, 2008 1:23 am ET

Lol

And the McCain camp thought it necessary to reply to this publicity stunt, why?

Josh   August 6th, 2008 1:17 am ET

Good for her. I mean, I'm going to vote for John McCain because Obama really is the political equivalent of Paris Hilton but I'm glad she's sticking up for herself.

femi   August 6th, 2008 1:17 am ET

foolish mccain camp dont even know when the joke is on them? ….lol losers!

billylee8   August 6th, 2008 1:15 am ET

Just who IS in the "McCain camp" anyway? A bunch of 3rd graders?

Anthony   August 6th, 2008 1:14 am ET

The funniest part is that McCain is still determined to inject his jabs and negativity at every given opportunity. Its crazy that i find myself actually asking McCain to "GROW UP". Isnt he in his 70's. And he'll probably look in the mirror and laugh to himself, and smirk at how "cool" he thinks he is… Get a CLUE. We need leadership.
Obama '08 '12

Tucker Bounds is Clueless   August 6th, 2008 1:14 am ET

Wow! Tucker is even more of a delusional air-head than I thought!

Yo Tuck, in case you didn't notice, Paris was MOCKING you, not endorsing you.

Brandon Hillary Puma4Mc   August 6th, 2008 1:08 am ET

Well Both Paris and Barack seem to have the same qualifications and experience for the job. Or lack thereof Ill stick with Mc.

Miguel Rivera   August 6th, 2008 1:08 am ET

I know this is offtopic, but Layla Kayleigh said she finds Wolf Blitzer smart and good looking.

David Goldman for OBAMA   August 6th, 2008 1:02 am ET

SHE CAN START BY FIRING BACK AT HER

MOTHER WHO BACKS THE MCSLEAZO, &

INSIST ON GETTING HER MONEY BACK.

THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS AN EXAMPLE OF

MCMORON'S LOYALTY. HE IS USING THE

IMAGE OF A SUPPORTER'S DAUGHTER

IN ORDER TO SLIME SOMEONE ELSE.

HOW SLEAZY IS THAT??

probama in paradise   August 6th, 2008 1:00 am ET

My question is…how did mc grumpy respond to Mama Hilton's irritated comments?–those are his donors who he has clearly angered!

He SO set himself up for that one…don't even feel remotely sorry for him–
One thing to infuriate the minorities, women, etc…but OOPS he did it again–
Made people in his own camp angry!
(Hiltons are donors toward his campaign!)
Time to retire, McGrumpy and settle in with your own aging Paris–

anagkutty   August 6th, 2008 12:58 am ET

seems like this is Paris Ad is going to backfire on McCain. Paris called McCain OLD.

Shawn   August 6th, 2008 12:57 am ET

She's got my vote.

Voting Obama   August 6th, 2008 12:53 am ET

McCain is an idiot He wasted all that money on a sorry add. If this man gets in office America is in trouble. Imma blame all those who voted for him……
