Paris Hilton fires back at McCain's "Celeb" ad

CNN

Watch Paris Hilton’s message for McCain

(CNN) - Paris Hilton has fired back in response to presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain's "Celeb" ad comparing the 27-year-old heiress to Barack Obama.

The less-than-two-minute spot was paid for by the comedy video Web site, funnyordie.com. It features Hilton sprawling in a lounge chair in a swimsuit. The socialite mocks McCain's ad, saying, "I want America to know that I'm, like, totally ready to lead."

What are Hilton's thoughts on energy policy? She says her position is a "hybrid" of Obama and McCain's. "Energy crisis solved," the heiress declares.

Hilton, who's built a career out of being a celebrity, also reveals her pick for vice president and plans while in office. "I'm thinking Rihanna. I'll see you at the White House. Oh, and I might paint it pink. I hope that's cool with you guys," she says.

"I'm Paris Hilton and I approve this message because I think it's totally hot."

The McCain camp responded to Hilton's ad Tuesday. "It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America's energy crisis – including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan," says McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.

This is actually pretty hillarious. John McCain's desperation moves are backfiring big time. When even Paris Hilton can goof on you... well, you ought to realize you messed up.

I'd vote for Ms Hilton a long time before I'd vote for either the wrinkly white-haired dude or, for that matter, the greying curly-haired dude.

Anyone who doesn't think the only legitimate roles of the citizens of this country are paying taxes and obeying Washington would be an improvement.

This spokesman should shut up and resign. McCain has gathered all these idiots around him and has made a complete fool out of himself.

God willing McCain will loose this election as he has lost all his credibility among American people.

Why not Paris–could she do any worse than Bush.
She's nearly as credible as voting for Obama.
They both have about the same level of public exposure–and both have to draw from others to come up with ideas.

no news that a republican [mccain] will try to dumb down the political discourse with a divisive ad like the paris/spears tv ad, but why is cnn and the others continuing this useless onslaught of political garbage.

cover why mccain IS too old to be president, rather than another story of barack's supposed inexperience. Or cover a story of how obama plans to unite the house and senate if elected. this story above is completely bogus!

It is good to see that Paris can have fun with this add and was even contributing to the "celebrity" status of Obama by indirectly poking fun at him.

What he did to Paris is nothing compared to offering up Cindy as Miss Buffalo Chick. He has no respect for women, not even his wilfe.

Seems like a lot of you out there mised the point with the Paris thing. It wasn't meant as to target one or the other but instead was a jab for each, and funny at that. What's even more funnier is that she is right & is suggesting exactly what is being talked about in Washington now. More of you commenters need to pay more attention to the facts.

LOL... good response by the old white haired dudes' camp! This spoof was very funny and it shows that unlike Hussein Barrackistanni's camp McCain has a sense of humor.

Wow, Paris Hilton coming to the defense of Obama.

Hillary! We need a grownup as the nominee! Seat all of Florida and Michigan and put it to a vote in Denver. HRC will come out as the nominee and this nation can get serious about solving its problems.

Who cares about Paris Hilton! She's the biggest air head in tinsel town. The only reason she's commenting is free air time. She hasn't done anything to prove she's human since she came out of jail and the media hasn't even covered any of her doings until now.

    Paris Hilton LOSER!!!!!

Brandon, you are right Paris and Barack have the same level of qualificatin, vote for McCain. I trust McCain rather than Obama for our Country. Democratic Party will lead our Country to dangerous situation. Look at Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry, Dean and Obama, they are worse than anybody in our Country.

The only part of Paris's plan I don't think is right is the whole "drill more to help now while we find energy resources for the future". More drilling right now won't do us much good until several years from now, and we'll likely have better energy sources already in the bag before we need any of that oil. I say "alternative energy first, and leave the drilling for later, because the hope of finding more oil in the ground only lessens the incentive to find better ways."

Still, a smart move for Paris and Funny or Die. It made her actually seem less like a vapid socialite and more like a hot girl with a sense of humor about herself.
