Show the man some respect you mindless foul mouths! You followers are all looking for free handouts from the Democrats because you were all raised with a silver spoon in your mouths and you want more, more, more. This isn't American Idol or any one of those lame reality shows you watch. This is about America and those who love it and those who want to hand off the flame of freedom to their children. Look at the filth you write and look at the filth in your heads. Get some sense of respect in your lives...please!

Machiavelli, Baton Rouge, LA   August 6th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Like the rest of the GOP, I do not think John McCain is a representative of what America stands for–ordinary Americans that is. The President of the United States should first and foremost be intelligent. Perhaps because John McCain is not intelligent, that is why he tries to paint Obama's intellectual prowess as being elitist. Nevertheless, any one with any kind of reasoning would see through the veil of McCain and recognize that he is only playing spin politics. His message has little or nothing to do with policy, only attacking Obama in the silliest of ways. Get real! This man has taken our politics so low as to compare a presidential candidate–an intelligent one at that–to dim witted celebrities. I think McCain should have made that comparison of himself to the celebrities because he too is dim witted.

Hey Raymond Duke...

"Did you notice the nut with the Obama haircut sitting by himself." Really??

No, none of us saw what was, in effect, the key part of the post. None of us were as keen-eyed as you. We were all so enthralled by excitement generated by McCain intruding upon poor ol' Marshall football team's practice that we all failed to see the just-as-large photo that followed.

You keep on sending those checks to the RNC; they need more people like you to make sure nothing slips past 'em–including the general election. (Good luck with that one, by the way!)

Great photo op with a bunch of high school football players forced to listen to McCain.

I'm a 47 year old degreed aeronautical engineer and Ivy B-school educated adult. I can not follow this man ... McCain. He is not leadership material.

College students only know what their textbooks tell them and also some of their empty-headed professors who read the textbooks to the students. These young people have no idea of what life is all about with maybe the exception of a few who have to make their own way in this world; most have families that provide everything and they have no idea of world stresses or the value of overcoming problems (experience),

JinDaBoss   August 6th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Obama inspires alot of people. People like me who felt left out of the political process or couldn't identify with anyone in politics. That haircut is a representation of that the audacity of hope ... thats exactly what he means, last i checked its a free country.

We have people like you and people like the so called "McCain" supporters who are willing to die for the country in which they have created – a total mess. And if McCain is elected, you all will have your chance, just don't come knocking on my door.

It's best you clean up your own mess and leave other people out of it.

To Raymond Duke:
You are clueless if you think that pulling an 18/19 yr old out of college and putting them in the military because of a haircut is a sound or family value type decision. It's a haircut that can be changed on a daily/weekly basis.

Just because you are for McCain doesn't mean you have to demean kids because they don't think the way you do. Get a clue. Stop listening to your phonograph or sending telegrams and come into the 21st century. It's a haircut.

If another Republican like McCain is elected, get ready for more foolish wars and more terrorist attacks on the US homeland even worse than the 9/11 attacks that happened as Bush was asleep at the switch.
These GOP morons don't have a clue as to how to protect us. Instead of catching or killing Bin Laden, Bush and McCain opened up a false front in the war on terror, allowed Al Queda to expand into Iraq, and needlessly got thousands of our troops killed and wounded because Bush and McCain wanted to fight a phantom menace who had NO WMD! You'd think after the alleged intelligence failures of 9/11 these guys would have been more careful with believing guys like Chalabi or "Curveball."

I wonder how McCain sees this group of young people. Your viewpoint makes a big difference in your demeanor and how you come across to people, in general.

Does he see them as potential voters or potential military personnel? Potential enemies or allies? America's future potential, or America's future liabilities? Does he see team players, or players on a team? I wonder.

Spending billions of dollars in Iraq to send your citizens to slaughter and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children in a foreign land and then spending money on childish ads.

Doesn't the American public see how childish and ridiculous it makes your country look in the eyes of the world? On the other hand I guess it explains how Bush got relected for a second term.

Obama can sink a 3-pointer... McCain can use a cane as a 3rd legger!! It's almost the same...

Republicans are only supporting McCain because he's Republican, NOT because he's qualified as a Presidential Candidate.

But maybe I'm wrong... maybe they're supporting him for all the stupid stuff he's been doing and saying while on the campaign trail. After all... they LOVE it when Bush has made an idiot out of himself over the years... why not four more years of the same stupid stuff?

Looking at that picture explains it all. Did you notice the nut with the Obama haircut sitting by himself. If I had a kid that stupid I would not waste a penny on helping pay his college. Being a veteran of twenty years and with a son like that I would have taken him to the nearest recruitting station for the Marines or Army and signed him up and told them make a grown up out of him and teach him some self respect. That is probably not right. I would just disown him if I had a son that stupid.

Rebublican for Obama!   August 6th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Everyone looks REALLY confused!!!!

Maybe they thought he was a up baseball coach or somthing?!

If he cant inspire a fotball team – how can he inspire a nation?

Luckyj   August 6th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

LETS PLAY FOOTBALL!!!!!!!

James   August 6th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Why is he WASTING his time campaigning in a state where over TWENTY PERCENT of the DEMOCRATS were willing to ADMIT they WOULD NOT VOTE for Obama because he is BLACK? And those were just the ones who were bold enough to admit it!

I don't think ANYONE with common sense thinks that there is anything competitive about WV for Obama. WV is a state full of prejudice.

Obama 08, 12

arc, Lugano CH   August 6th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

West Virginia is a good place for Senator McCain to build up support from those Hillary supporters who said on TV that ‘they would never vote for a black man”. He’d better bring the FEAR and remember to pack some pictures of Bin Laden to really rally up the like-minded locals into a panicked frenzy.

God Bless America…

The Other Jon   August 6th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

Vote McCain if you like hypocrisy!

Aren't Americans tired of the Karl Rove and George Bush-styled politics? McCain is trying to run the same kind of campaign.

McCain also has supported the same policies as Bush.

How can you not see that a McCain presidency will carry on the failures of the Bush Administration?

Karima   August 6th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

Since they won't come to him 200,000 strong I guess he has to go to them one at a time!!

R.I.F.   August 6th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

He's showing up everywhere to get a crowd now. Funny that he has to show up at a crowd and Obama generates his own. Next McCain will be doing play-by-play on NBC for the Olympics.

Bill Clinton   August 6th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

John McCain is the real hero.

Sherry, Atlanta   August 6th, 2008 11:58 am ET

Young American's will not have the opportunity to put their 'Dreams In Place', if by chance McCain get the Presidental Post.

MCCAIN'S 'NUCLEAR POWER' will DESTROY US ALL

Independent-Latina-for-OBAMA   August 6th, 2008 11:58 am ET

Well, McCain has to do all he can. He has a huge burden to carry, he is joined at the hip with Buch/Cheney and all the rest of the Bushies:

INTERESTING HOW THE FAR-RIGHT BLOGGERS NEVER DEFEND THE $10 TRILLION IN NATIONAL DEBT THAT IS OWED TO CHINA, THE SAUDIS AND DUBAI!

INTERESTING HOW THE FAR-RIGHT ONLY HAS ATTACKS, LIES AND DEMEANING COMMENTS....... NOTHING NEW.

INTERESTING HOW THE GOP-HATE-FEAR-AND-DIVISION-MONGERS ONLY COME UP WITH THE SAME OLD TIRED AND SILLY IDEAS.

Obama supporter: Bipartisan Intelligence in Gov't   August 6th, 2008 11:58 am ET

Did he give them tire gauges to help them conserve energy and promote Obama's sensible first steps in reducing energy consumption??

NoMcSame(Grumpy old Mr. Burns)   August 6th, 2008 11:57 am ET

McGrumpy you better be glad that you are white and that Obama is black because if he was white you would be toast. The only thing that is keeping you run for the White House on life support is race. I know it and the rest of the country and the world knows it too. America is still asleep and stuck on stupid with all of the hate that is stored up in her. McGrumpy is so out of touch that he even tried to enter his wife into a strip contest and didn't know it, well on the other hand maybe he did know.
Old man stay in your place and use some of your wifes money to fix your creepy arms. I don't care how they got like that, they look creepy.
McGrumpy is a total JOKE and the more he talks the more we see. Thousands come to see Obama but McSame has to crash where thousands are to get people to listen to his trash. Ha ha ha LOL
Obama08 a Dream

seyi   August 6th, 2008 11:56 am ET

Lol.. thats his way of getting the youth vote. You should be talking to energy experts John and responding to Paris' ad.

Bob Indianapolis, IN   August 6th, 2008 11:56 am ET

Shoulda brought your ace buddy Shotgun Dick! I hear he's REAL popular in these parts right about now...

Veterans for Obama   August 6th, 2008 11:56 am ET

"Courage"???What courage does it take to play college ball? The words "courage" and "hero' are being thrown around carelessly lately. Auddie Murphy had Courage and was a hero.

Steve   August 6th, 2008 11:55 am ET

Look at the picture accompanying the article. How many players and people standing around look like they're interested and paying attention.

PHIL TEXAS   August 6th, 2008 11:54 am ET

noBAMA

California Gold   August 6th, 2008 11:54 am ET

This is McCain's ability to draw: show up on the field at a school football team scheduled practice.

Obama schedules a stop and 200,000 participants flock to him.

No wonder McCain is pea green with envy.

Brendose, Oceanside CA   August 6th, 2008 11:53 am ET

Oh I get it now........they're making a sequel to "We are Marshall", and he is playing the half-dead coach.

Brendose, Oceanside CA   August 6th, 2008 11:53 am ET

WOW......did he just see the movie or something??

Why is this relevant?

Maybe McCain should log on his Apple II+ computer and 56k modem and search the internet for campaign tips.

An American   August 6th, 2008 11:52 am ET

I love the lady in the back with the sweater tied around her neck. How elite!

Bulldog   August 6th, 2008 11:52 am ET

Talk about a photo op. He mocks Obama for photo ops and then goes to a bike rally and now this? What a senile jerk.

Jed   August 6th, 2008 11:51 am ET

This pic should be titled, "Raise your hand if you are for McCain."

A Nightingale Sings in Berkley Square   August 6th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Like McSongbird's courage and tradition of aiding the enemy at a time of war.

Do you think the brothers in that group are going to vote for McPasty?

Dem   August 6th, 2008 11:51 am ET

I bet it was "really" inspirational

ls   August 6th, 2008 11:50 am ET

Well, looks like McCain found another "Big Crowd" to drop in on.

They all sure do look excited to see him. yeah right . . .

Len in Washington   August 6th, 2008 11:49 am ET

"He already thinks he's the COACH!" OMG!

Next he'll be on the cover of all the sports mags!

Presumptious, Indeed!

Debbie - WV   August 6th, 2008 11:49 am ET

mcwrinkle....lmao

Valerie - St. Louis, MO   August 6th, 2008 11:49 am ET

There he goes trying to find a crowd to speak to. No one wants to hear him so he has to try to find a crowd where he can.

Jim   August 6th, 2008 11:49 am ET

He must still be upset he didn't recieve such a big audience on his oversea's trips.

Tom   August 6th, 2008 11:48 am ET

Yea Marshall!!!!!!!

Nikki   August 6th, 2008 11:48 am ET
