Giuliani: A Democrat possible as McCain's VP

CNN

Watch Giuliani on American Morning Thursday.

(CNN) – Rudy Giuliani, former presidential candidate turned John McCain supporter, said Thursday that a Democrat could conceivably occupy the number 2 spot on the Republican presidential ticket.

“The reality is either way you might see something like that,” the former New York City mayor told CNN’s Kiran Chetry on American Morning when asked about talk of Sen. Barack Obama choosing a Republican like Sen. Chuck Hagel as his running mate.

Giuliani said he has not spoken with McCain about possibly choosing a Democratic running mate. “But, if you’re asking me is it possible in this day and age that you could have a ticket like that? I think so.”

While he conceded that he could think of “a couple” Democrats who might fit the bill as potential McCain VP’s, Giuliani said the decision was ultimately McCain’s.

Everything the anti-Obama democrats do to muck up this election will come back to haunt them if HRC ever got the nomination in 4 years. I would make it my life's mission to get some payback. Democrats voting for McCain deserve what they get and if the are of the PUMA type just wait and we will all pay back with a vote to re-elect McCain (shold he live that long). I'm tired of HRC nutballs ruining our party nominees chances simply because their mad her kitchen sink, trash talking, lying, corrupt campaign failed. Remember he unique way of saying she won the popular vote? Remember the ridiculous electoral college argument? Remember counting votes and wanting the delegates from two states whose elections were not valid? Her negative constant low road against Obama brought her down and if teh repugs keep it up, the majority of Americans will get turned off by that.

This election we need a third choice, NONE of the Above. Both Major Candidates Suck and the minor party candidates are worse. We are in bad shape when this is the field we have to choose from. Is there anyone out there that cares more about the American people than the foreignors both at home and abroad. Is there anyone out there
that will tell the people the truth and bring back our Democratic Freedoms and stop the government from giving our money away to foreign entities and areas not designated for the Federal Government.

I hope McCain picks Guliani as his VP - this would be a definite win for Obama.

As for Guliani, when I saw him on the Morning Joe show today, I couldn't stand the look of his face and just simply decided to change the channel. I had rather watched commercials. Just the looking at him is SO REPULSIVE - I would rather look at the white-haired wrinkly guy.

    Obama!!!!!

I might of heard wrong but doesnt obama have more senate experience than Hillary? If this is true than the whole experience thing for her has just been thrown out the window. Unless you count those 8 years of being first lady which frankly shouldn't count b/c she didn't do anything presidential.

    ew. double ew.

slimy and unctuous. but go ahead. Barr's the better candidate – a true conservative.

Giuliani will say anything to get back in the headlines, he's a media junkie.

As for any democrat that would accept McCain's offer to be VP... that person would not be a true democrat. Hmm... perhaps the opportunist Lieberman is excited about this one, however.

Coming from a lifelong Democrat (Rudy -until he ran for mayor) this is no surprise. McCain is far more liberal than former President Clinton. There isn't a Republican on the ticket this year besides Barr.

Lieberman doesn't actually count as a Democrat.

Republican for anyone but McLieberCain '08.

Yes, I'm sure it was nice to see Giuliani had enforced a program introduced by Mayor Koch, a Democrat.

"OHHHHH! PICK CLINTON!!!! Everyone will vote for that ticket!!!! HILLARY WUZ ROBBED!!!!"

    Right.
Because Republicans LOOOOOOOVE Hillary Clinton, don't they?
Think, people: McCain may get your bitter, self-entitled vote, but he'd lose about 20 million bitter, "morally upright" conservative nitwit votes who already think he's not enought like Pat Robertson or Rush Limbaugh.

    Not happening.

No matter who McCain will pick as VP, he will win by large margin. American people already know Osama's CHANGE (CHANGE POSITIONS ON EVERY ISSUE, CHANG SPEECHES) and don't want those FUNNY CHANGES.

Ok people let's say it together. Hillary will NEVER join a mccain ticket. They are oil and water on MOST issues. Why in the world would she ruin her legacy? They have NOTHING in common!

Any Democrat that would join forces with the Senile Mind of McSame was never a True Democrat! And the Dems don't need him or her!
And on an interrelated subject – It appears that Giuliani has finally Lost what might have resembled a Human Mind! Resembled the ultimate word here.

Someone tell me how does McCain have all of the answers about the economy now in an election year when he has sat in congress for 26 years and did nothing in the past eight years.

To me, he is the biggest fake ever and certainly he is no maverick.

I am sure Hillary is a smart woman and when you look at the programs of both there is a gab from here (the Netherlands) to Tokio.
But, if she does she would be President afteral in one year.
McCain wil be impeached by then because within that time enyone
can see he is not capable to lead. He would be told everything by
the new Cheyneys of the Republicans and be a puppit on a string.
So, I have a better idea. Barack shoul take Hillary on the ticket.
I am sure they both can handle Bill and everybody is happy.

Barack wil be the best and most loved and respected USA President
    in history!

    With love from the Netherlands.
    Europe for Barack Hussein Obama!

Hmmmm, what is wrong with that?

Vote McCain and stop this nonsense!

It did sounds like Rudy was talking about Liberman although he is now "Independent". If McCain picks him he could act as Cheney and tell McCain what to do.

If McCain chooses a Democrat for VP, he might as well hang up becoming President of the United States. His conservative base will not vote for him. So, I say, go ahead and pick a Democrat.
