The tax cut for the wealthy funded China's growth to American workers detriment. Rather than invest it here they invested in China to build the plants that took away American jobs. Now those same foreign workers who are buying cars are driving up the price of gasoline.

The tax break was a double wammy for American workers. Not only was the capital used to outsource their jobs but now the oil demands by the low wage employees who tooks those jobs is pushing up fuel prices and creating more misery and unemployment.

Take nuclear power. Even if we solved the waste disposal problem tomorrow (good luck with that project), nuclear power would still be uncompetitive simply because of cost. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates that, even with fossil fuel inflation, coal and natural gas will still be cheaper than nuclear through at least 2015.

Here is the answer to a question the Republican's don't want you asking. The government is not stopping energy companies from building new nuclear plants now, but they aren't doing it. The reason is simple. It is cost-prohibitive.

Somebody needs to brief the Republican nominee about business issues.

We are in the middle of an energy crisis and it is an issue that demands our leaders' full attention. Whether you agree with the Republicans or the Democrats on energy policy, or like myself believe they're both way off base, it is still something that deserves a timely debate and a proper yes or no vote – not a vague commitment to waste more time arguing about it five weeks from now. Republican offer a theater of 'outrage' and 'mockery' while Obama offers a simple solution to save energy (tire-pressure) along with a multi-pronged set of solutions, and even an offer to compromise on 'drilling'. (Since when have the Republicans compromised on a hot button issue?).

If the Right really cared about helping regular Americans, they would work with Obama and the democratic congress to negotiate a compromise between intelligent drilling and more forward-looking policies ASAP. Instead they grandstand to try to tarnish Mr. Obama.

The American people aren't that stupid. They know the Oil companies have been sitting on their existing drilling leases and just want to fatten their bank accounts with a 'land grab' on new drilling locations. The people also know that the call for drilling as a primary solution is disingenuous–drilling won't produce results for years, while the pain at the pump is now.
