Obama says reports of party friction are media creation

Obama said his time off should help ease “Obama fatigue” among voters.
Obama said his time off should help ease “Obama fatigue” among voters.

(CNN) - Barack Obama said Thursday that the controversy over how whether Hillary Clinton’s delegates would be able to vote for her at the Democratic convention in Denver was a media creation — and that he hopes his upcoming vacation helps cure any “Obama fatigue” among voters.

Watch: Obama on the Clintons

“There hasn't been controversy other than what you guys are projecting right now,” he told reporters. Obama described conversations between the two campaigns over convention planning as “seamless.” “It has not been a problem,” he said.

Asked whether he would be content if Clinton’s name were placed into nomination at the convention, he responded “I didn't say that. I said they are working it out, guys.”

Obama also said he hopes his week off to visit family in Hawaii will help address public dissatisfaction reflected in a Pew poll this week that revealed nearly half those surveyed feels they have heard too much news about the presumptive Democratic nominee.

"We are going to correct that this week, hopefully with your help," said Obama.

He pointed to the long primary season as one likely factor. "I can imagine that folks need a break from politics, and they didn't really get one like they normally do," said the Illinois senator. "I think that the majority of people have been fed a constant stream of political chatter."

He added, "I'm sure that having a couple weeks off and enjoying the Olympics is probably what the doctor ordered for everybody."

For all of you Hillary supporters who plan to vote for McCain or not at all: Really? You're really willing to sell out your friends, family, and the rest of the nation for a personal grudge? Did you hear a single word Hillary was saying on the campaign trail? Have you listened to McCain's blathering? You're really willing to take four more years of spectacularly failed policies and watch this country go further over the cliff? You're really willing to watch the Constitution be shredded beyond repair?

I am bewildered by the selfishness of you PUMA types. Obviously everything the candidates have been saying mean nothing to you if you're merely voting based on spite. If Hillary had won, you can bet your bottom dollar that Obama supporters would hold their nose and vote for her to avoid another four years of Republican failure.

    Truly unbelievable.

Hell yes; there's friction and let Obama and his peoples believe that 9 out of 10 Clinton supporters will back him ... take it to the convention and find out how wrong the Obamacans are.

Obama is apparently without a clue as to what is going on in his own party. I'm not a bit surprised.

The party and his Presidential hopes will crash and burn at the Democrats convention.

Oh Please! You're dreaming in la la land if you think there is zero friction!

You treated Hillary like dirt and I will NEVER AGAIN vote for a man for president! You lost all credibility by throwing everyone under the bus!

You continue to do and say anything that you think will help you win! Your ego is bigger than the problems in this country, isn't it? Sure wish you would just go away. LOVE YOU HILLARY! Go McCain. No longer supporting democrats.

Obama is really stupid to say the media is making this up. Doesn't he have any contact with his own political party! What a moron.

Chuck Todd (First Read) on Hardball said he did not think Hillary would want her name put in as a nominee because it would show she would LOSE. He said most of her supporters have allready committed to Obama. I don't think she'll be putting her name in. They (Clintons) just can't seem to get past the primaries & that they LOST.

These PUMAs are ridiculous. Look, there was a political CONTEST, and Hillary lost. Nobody cheated, he came out ahead, end of story. They act as if someone had cracked the immemorial order of things. Again, a contest implies the thing can be won or lost, and she lost.

  14. Moderate Republican supporting Obama

...and Obama is exactly right! The media has been rather shameful during this entire election cycle and this latest Clinton drama is no different. The media continue to unfairly focus on Obama and completely ignore the OBVIOUS problems of John McCain. Every eligible American voter who is concerned about this election would do well to turn off CNN, MSNBC, and FOX and conduct candidate research for themselves!

The only media creation is Hussein Nobama. Nobody had ever heard of this racist until the media forced him down everybody's throat. Proven fact!

You lost Hilly Billy. Thats it. No name in the hat. Some once told me that you must kill a snake. If you let it go, you never know when it can come back and bite you. H
Hiilary- we cannot pay your debt. So don't be bitter. Ask your supports to donate a buck for you.
As far as media exposure is concerned, I already miss Obama.
I am glued to the TV to listen to him. Outstanding orator, an inspirational leader, intellectual man, an enabler and a problem solver. The world loves this world citizen..
God Bless Obama and his family.
America truly needs Obama at this time.

I never thought I would see the day that there would be so much vile bitterness and hatred from people that call themselves Democrats. Until recently I thought that was a Republican trait. I see all of these posts smeering Obama that have been doing it since the voting started in January and then they have the gaul to say that Obama supporters picked on Hillary. It's true, some did. But it has been something like 10 to one the other way. On this particular thread it is 12 to one. Count it.

Obama is right, this whole "Party Divided" thing is just 5-10 morons and republicans trying to scare Obama to choose Clinton as his VP so then McShame can blast her....

The reason they don't want Bill Clinton, at there shin-dig. Is because they think: (They being the Black's, it will be a Black Lov-in. But it won't. It will become the Black-Wake, for the Democrats... I said six months ago: He should settle for VP... Now he'll get nothing...

No division within the party? Who is he KIDDING??? Is he really that naive or just that ARROGANT? THIS Clinton supporter will not fall in line behind the bratty, snot-nosed little boy playing make believe as if he could actually lead this country. I agree with Pres Clinton, he is NOT ready, nor will he EVER be ready. I'll write in a vote for Hillary rather than waste a vote on this pompous jack-arse.

People talk so much trash about hillary but she wouldnt be the first person to take it to the floor, what makes her so different ohhh that's right she's a woman. If it had been the other way around and Obama had been that close everyone would have been saying take it to the floor. I don't think she is going to do that she just wants her supporters to feel like she fought for their voices to be heard.
