(CNN) - Barack Obama and his family are on their way to Hawaii aboard the Illinois senator's campaign plane. They'll journey to Oahu, where they will spend several days visiting his extended family.
They've been joined on board by more than a dozen family friends. The section of the plane usually reserved for staff is filled with children under the age of 12.

I think its great. He, unlike his opponent, has been working 7 days a week for quite awhile now. He needs to take some time off to recuperate. He will be busy from the time he comes back until after the election, and then busier than ever after January 09.
I think the reason people will criticize him for some minor things, they have no major things to criticize anymore. He has been vetted, and they are grasping at straws.

Belle: The article stated he was on his campaign plane. So, obviously, his campaign is paying for the trip. I am an Obama contributor. I'm not mad. You obviously are not, so why are you? I think it is a well-deserved vacation. It doesn't cost any more to fly the Obama's to Hawaii than it does if you add a dozen friends. I think it shows he is a good friend to include his friends and their children. If you are concerned about taxpayer's dollars, you should be paying more attention to the War in Iraq. That's where your taxpayers' dollars are going and your taxpayers' sons and daughters. No mention of the billions we are spending in Iraq each month, but you would begrduge someone a vacation. Priority check.

Remember, Obama is *from* Hawaii, for him to go to Hawaii is no different then me going back home to Chicago for a holiday. Obama was freaking born in Hawaii, he's taking a trip back home.
Additionally, Hawaii is a state like the other 49, and has a say in the election same as the rest of us. I'm sure they're happy to have a native son back in the state.
