You have a point - both conservative AND liberal 527 groups should be held accountable if they break campaign finance law, and the responsibility to indict and prosecute such groups belongs to Congress and the Executive Branch of the federal government. However, since they are both a bunch of do-nothing children who would rather not take any real responsibility, then personally I like to see each side make a stand and take their fight to the other. If we can't hold our own government accountable for upholding the law, then it is up to all of us as individuals and groups to hold each other accountable.

From what I understand of these 527s, the finance reform laws do not apply to them. Therefore, a republican (or democratic for that matter) donor is not doing anything illegal. There may be a debate about the nature of the group, but we cannot nor should not police thought and intention.

This group is definitely needed. Senator McCain has gotten so nasty of late with some outright lies and other questionable things - and it is a shame. I would not have voted for him in the first place but thought he would run an honorable campaign but have since learned that he is not.
