It boggles my mind that people in an industry that will be negatively impacted by an Obama presidency would contribute to his campaign. Then again, it boggles my mind that Americans would so willingly vote for socialism! If Obama is elected, it will be verified that Americans are IDIOTS!

Taxes should be flat across the board. A progressive tax system is at the heart of socialism. It will be a complete and utter disgrace if Obama is elected.

There is no reason to penalize those who are successful with a higher tax rate only to redistribute the money to people who don't care enough about themselves to GET A JOB!! It shouldn't be easy and "fun" to be poor; there needs to be an incentive to pulling yourself out from the bottom.

So a guy who earned his way through college on loans and scholarships and made his own path to where he is is out of touch?

Might I remind some that he only recently joined the millionaires club through book sales. He didn't marry or be born into money like some others.

Obama, hit em back and hit em hard for trying to fool the people for the third time this decade.

If the media would do its job, then McCain wouldn't even have to
air these ads.

When will the media start to vet Obama?

Sen. Obama I am going to vote for you no matter what. But please, please, please don't let Grandpa Munster keep hitting you with these outrageous lies and not fight back! It is too important to the country that you be elected and like it or not, there are a lot of people out there who believe this crap the McCain campaign is generating.

You have a positive message for the future while McCain reiterates the same old tired junk we have put up with for years! Enough is enough!

This is McCain's way of avoiding real issues, which he knows nothing about, so he continues his none newsworthy attack ads. Wait until the debates come and watch McCain fold like a house of cards. The GOP knows McCain is no debate match with Obama and these ads are proof they are running scared.

These ads are offensive and disregard the truth. It shows that McCain, like George Bush, will go to any lengths to SCARE the American public. All of this coming from someone who promised a civil and honest campaign. This is out of control and if he wins this election it will show that our country is in serious trouble. John McCain is not telling us what he is going to do, instead he is running shameless ads. This just shows the kind of values and morals that our "Maverick" really has. I don't understand how anyone, regardless of their political preference, can think ads like this are beneficial to the American public. He is beyond hypocritical and should be ashamed. Presidential candidates should act like role models.
Hey kids if you are ever scared you might lose, call your opponent a liar and paint him to look like a monster, oh and be sure to really scare the publics who you rely on, that will help you to victory. Give me a break . Wake up.

Lynn, your attacks on Obama have no basis in fact. You said he's a flip-flopper. What has he flip-flopped on? I can tell you *factually* that McCain said he'd cut taxes, then raise them, then cut them, then raise them NUMEROUS times. I can tell you *factually* that McCain worked (real hard) to block MLK being a holiday in Arizona, then changed his mind (once he started running for president, surprise, surprise). I can tell you *factually* that he was against off-shore drilling and is now for it (even though he admitted it wouldn't help). I can tell you *factually* that he mixed up shiites and sunnis. I can tell you *factually* that he had no idea that Czechoslovakia doesn't even exist anymore.

Obama a stutterer? Right! That's funny. Next you'll tell me that McCain is an eloquent speaker like James Earl Jones, right? Obama corrupt? Right McCain is morally beyond reproach. Like when he was cheating on his first wife with his current one, dump her and married the second one a month later, right? Lying? Honestly, back up your statements with instances. It's easy to sling mud when you don't back them up with facts. Self-annointed Messiah? All I can say is jealousy is not a good thing!

So the son of an admiral who went to one of the most exclusive colleges in the country, served as an officer in the Navy, served in the senate for 26 years, married into a $100 million beer fortune, wears $500 Farragamo loafers, has and spend literally every day of his life enjoying benefits provided by the federal government is one of "us."

The guy who was raised by a single parent, at times on food stamps, worked his way through public schools into two of the most prestigious universities in the world, worked to organize poor people, married another self-made person from the South Side of Chicago, and just recently paid off his student loans, is the elitist.

Does that cover it?

Count on the GOP to tell a big lie just as Obama is taking a vacation with his family ... McCain is a coward.

Team Obama, counter attack McCain as a liar ... have some common Americans, in plaids shirts with a souther drawl ... use that phase .... LIAR .... in the commercial.

Repaint the bus changing the name from the straight talk express to the "I mispoke express". That's subtle enough for most folks to know that you are politely calling him a LIAR.

The truth is that if you make less that $150,000 per year, your Taxes WILL GO DOWN under an Obama Administration.

if you make over $250,000 per year, your income taxes will increase slightly ... I'm OK with that ... we've got to pay for this stupid war until the Democrats get control of spending from this Republican President and his 6 years of a Republican Congress.

If you make between $150,000 and $250,000 your taxes will not change.

How's that for straight talk, you LIAR?!!

Given that McCain is demonstrably sexist, and rather extremely so, I can't possibly understand what would motivate a former Clinton supporter to say that they're going to vote for him. Voter for Barr, vote for Nader, not vote at all, these I can see. Can there any reason other than petulance or racism to vote for somebody who not only doesn't agree with you, but is the antithesis of all your political positions on gender and equality?

"If Obama gets the nomination, I'm going to vote for the candidate who left his first wife after she was disfigured in a car accident, who pimped his current wife out to a crowd of bikers, and who voted against equal wages for women! That makes perfect sense!"

Explain this to me! Please! It's like a Christian voting for a Satanist over a pastor because the pastor is a Presbyterian instead of a Lutheran. There is no sense or reason to it, is there?

Obama is not out of touch; he is just to inexperienced and therefore scary to see at the helm of the United States. He is also too liberal, which is something that is getting lost in all the garbage flying around. He has the most liberal voting record in the Senate.
So Hillary Supporters let me ask you this. If she all of a sudden became the nominee. How do you think the 18 million Obama supporters would feel?

My point exactly

It seems the average age of the Obama supporters on here is 19. I guess with college out until the end of the month, the Kos kiddies have extra time on their hands.

You know McCain is being effective when all the Obamabots start screaming about not being able to take another "negative ad". For one, I love the ads because they speak the truth. I think McCain should revive the "3 AM phone call" commercial, but he seems to be doing fine on his own for now.

according to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center's analysis of both candidates' plans, by 2009, under Obama's plan, those making $37,595 would see an average increase in their income of 3.6%, or a tax cut of $892; those making an average of $66,354, would see an increase in their income of 2.4%, or a tax cut of $1,042.

On the other hand, Under McCain's plan, those making $37,595, would see an increase in their income of only about 0.5%, or $113 tax cut; those making $66,354, would see only an increase of 0.7% in their income, or a tax break of $319.

Maverick - my foot- you aint - You are a dumb head
The ad set off a flurry of retractions. Kerry described it as desperate: "The real question is what happened to the John McCain we used to know and why he changed overnight into a George Bush nominee with a Karl Rove campaign."

Biden said it was "unfortunate" McCain had "changed so much in just eight years." Dean contended the McCain of 2000 would not "consider voting for the John McCain of 2008."

Within hours, the DNC struck back with its own video montage of fresh quotes from the same Democrats criticizing McCain this year. The title of the ad? "Maverick no more."

YOu Obamabots seem to be missing a very important point. McCains ad doesn't say Obama's campaign tax plan will raise taxes on people who make 42k. It says he has already VOTED to raise taxes on people making $42k or more, as a senator earlier this year.

This highlights the hypocracy of Obama. He says:

He won't raise taxes on most people, yet he has in the past.
He's pro 2nd amendment - yet he used to work for a group who's goal was to ban handguns.
Claims he's always been against the war, but he hasn't.
He would take public financing for the general election, now he won't.
He couldn't throw his pastor under the bus, then he did.
Florida and Michigan votes shouldn't count, now they should.
etc. and so on. The list is really endless.

I am so done with john Mccain
to be the oldest man running for president he certainly the biggest child.
This is not campigning.
This is desperation at it's best, and whatever decent feelings I may have had for ol'Johnny boy is gone.
I want the person who shows more maturity to issues at hand such as my food bill and my gas tank, and getting my son out of Iraq.
Mcain and his republicans are enjoying this ridiculous behavior.
It's a sad time in american history to have the stupid politics going on again and some clueless people actually fall for it.
I wish people would truly think about how we will afford to pay all of our bills if the republicans win this because keeping the tax cuts ,and this war has been devastating for the past 7 1/2 years, can we really afford for more.

Well don't blame McCain or his campaign for the witty and truthful adds. The media including CNN and Campbell Brown thats all she talks about on her show is Obama made him out to be a mockery and a joke now. Reading Obama's economic proposal on his website the only way it will work is for a tax increase for all of us not just on the rich. The best thing at the Dem. convention is to hear Bill Clinton speak again he is masterful at it with no telepromter, and Hillary who is not far behind him as a public speaker.

...and McCain is a USED TO BE....used to be a straighttalker, used to be a maverick, used to be able to be bipartisan, used to be against negative, smear campaigns...and now is in the hands of lobbyists and big corporations.

A news organization should not only report what the candidate is saying but also the accuracy...otherwise it is just a propaganda machine.

McCain ads do nothing to promote himself or his policies and only attack Obama's image. Time to get out of the past John and tell the people what you stand for in this election.

This election is a guage to just how intelligent the American people are or how gullible they are and the whole world is watching.

America's image may not matter to some of the less informed people because they can't imagine any other country being as great as the U.S. or for that matter if they are anything like the people who they elect president they likely won't know what other countries there are in the world.

An analysis by the Wisconsin Advertising Project found that over 90 percent of the ads Obama has aired in the last two months are positive, not mentioning McCain by name. Approximately a third of the McCain's are negative, drawing contrasts between himself and Obama.

Simply put, America has too many stupid people to be the world only super power. What I have learned from all this is that being big and being stong is what is needed to be a world super power. In short, might really does make right. Because I find it so strange that a candidate like McCain with absolutely no ideas can compete against a candidate with so many new and brilliant ideas. It makes absolutely no sense. It just shows how stupid so many American people are.

Of course America has many smart people, but at the end of the day, the vast majority are basically ignorant ... and that is why Mccain has a good chance to win this election.

“Life in the spotlight must be grand, but for the rest of us times are tough,” <<

Oddly, the ad doesn't mention that "times are tough" because of 7.5+ years of abysmal Republican failures.

165 days till the end of the Bush administration.

I love these adds McCain is putting out. He is finally starting to show a back bone and take charge. The new leadership in the campaign instituted last month is really starting to show it's strenght. Great job and lets keep it up. Some one has to show Obama for the elitist he really is since the Obama loving media certainly won't do it.

Oh, let me see now, who was it that appeared on the following televisions shows: "24", ESPN's Who's #1, Wedding Crashers, Ultimate Fighting Championship, "The Hanoi Hilton", hosted Saturday Night Live twice and marched through the talk show circuit over 100 time (thanks IMDB)? That would be pandering, Big Oil sponsored, flip-flopping "wrinkly white guy" whose only claim to fame was that he was a "Songbird" for the North Vietnamese.

First off, if the media is going to run this ad for free over and over again like it's done all of the rest of McCain's silly ads, then they need to make sure to inform people that they are false. Obam does not want to raise taxes on people making less than $250K a year and his plan actually saves most people 3 times the amount in taxes than McCain's plan.

Also,
“Life in the spotlight must be grand, but for the rest of us times are tough,”

Rest of us???? McCain walks around with $500 shoes and he and his wife are worth over $100 million. He's far more out of the "us" category than Obama who just paid back student loans a coupel of years ago.

McCain is turning into the silliest little man to ever run for president.

Haters, you can shove that comment up yours. Obama is not Osama and you are as ignorant as the school that taught you ( if you had any education)...Obama will win, hands down. The mood is change and obviously it is the old timers like you that prevents thet change we see in the country.

Obama 08' appreciate it don't disrespect it.

i think obama is probably the most 'in touch' presidential candidate,in recent history.at least he knows what a blackberry is.[not the fruit]as far as being a celeb?well that's not under his control.his popularity with people, from all over the world,is much-needed ,right now,in the face of all the up and coming bush administration trials and hearings.
