I'm not proud of my country and why should I be...Over 400000 jobs lost since january, gas is at 3.90 a gal...people like you are allowd to breathe...people won't accept him cause he is BLACK...

The unemployment rate is at 5.7 percent. That means that 94.3 percent of the population is employed. That's really something to be ashamed of.

The price of gasoline in Europe ranges from as low as $6.12 a gallon in Bulgaria to as high as $9.39 in The Netherlands. We are at $3.63 in my town. That's really something to be ashamed of.

One of the things that makes this country great is that no matter how stupid your comment is you have the right to make it and continue breathing. I would have thought you, of all people, would be thankful for (if not proud of) that.

And, finally, there are a lot of us who don't support your candidate because he is inexperienced and untrustworthy. His skin tone has nothing to do with it. The fact that the Obama side is the one constantly injecting race into this campaign says a lot about what your candidate really cares about and it isn't healing the racial divide...

I'm a 21 year old college student, and this will be the first general election vote of my lifetime, yet I wonder if age really has much to do with a person's preparedness to vote? I don't know the ages of some of these negative bloggers, but the emotional age represented by some of these comments is truely infantile.

I don't know how to put this gently, but you are pathetic. If you are not proud to be an American, then what country would make you prouder to live in? sure we've had our share of mistakes, but has ther eever been a country that has done so much more than it's share to help out other countries in the world? We fight disease, hunger, injustice every where. You tell Alice to get off her soapbox? I think all these whiney losers like yourself need a reality slap and appreciate what you have. The liberals whine and complain and wish and hope, while the conservatives actually do something.

It is almost like . . . well, let me put it this way, as a child and you didn't get what you want, were you the one who was on the store floor kicking and yelling because you couldn't have what you wanted, no matter whatever the reason was as to why you couldn't have it your way? And still to this day, you might still hold that grudge from years and years ago as a child?

However, the problem isn't with socialistic ideals; rather, it comes from the greed of those at the top. Most couples work out of necessity just to pay the bills (not to pay for extravagant lifestyles). With the greed at the top, the workers of America have been priced as dual-income workers. Let me give you an example...

My father-in-law was a manager for a Fortune 500 corporation in 1981. He had about 20 people under him and managed one specific business unit. Conversely, I am a Vice President with a Fortune 500 corporate, and I have over sixty people working for me in seven distinct business units. Here's the kicker – My father-in-law made $9000 more per year (27 years ago!) than I make today...oh, and by the way, my company has been INCREDIBLY profitable during the Bush years...yet, I have been required to cut my staff every year (I thought tax cuts were supposed to create jobs).

So please, anyone, explain to me how socialism can be blamed for the dual-income requirement that we are faced with today. Also, please enlighten me on how tax cuts create more jobs.

By the way, my wife does not work, and she raises our daughter; however, this Vice President of a major corporation has to have a side business to make ends meet...and we still live week-to-week in a midsize (2000 square foot) house and haven't taken a vacation in almost two years.
