I'm reading these comments and trying to figure out why the posts are soooo hard on Lieberman. JL votes with over 90% of democrats, JM reaches across the partisan divide ie. Feingold; Kennedy; etc. I will support the center. I don't like ridiculous radical polititions.

I believe I've said this before, but it bears repeating: Joe Lieberman is the most grotesquely shameless political tool to ever darken the doorway of Capitol Hill. His supposedly "independent" status simply means he can prop up whatever policies or officials are most expedient to his interests. Has has never put the US or even Israel first. He has, without fail, placed himself - his material and political gain - at the forefront of his interests.

He represents a cancerous, disingenuous growth on the face of American politics. He should either dig deep - real deep - and find some modicum of human integrity, or retire.

The great Senator Lieberman don't even know what Party he currently belongs to. He is as confused as his old buddy John. Lieberman is dying to be McCain's VP and I certainly wish that his wish comes true.

If Joe Lieberman gets the VP spot, the Republican Conservative base will have a field day when comes November, because they will stay home to show their discontent with McCain, and the Democratic go to the poll by the million. An African American friend once told me that she was ashamed that Condolezza Rice was Black. Now I know exactly how she feels because I am ashamed that Sen. Liebeman is Jewish.

The Jews have a word for someone like him: "Shonda." It means "disgrace."

Virtually no one outside of the state of Connecticut knew who Lieberman was until the Democratic Party nominated him for Vice President. That year, he ran against the Republicans who championed cutting taxes for the rich, ending abortion, privatizing social security, diverting funds from public schools to private ones, and opposing universal health insurance.

And now, eight years after the Republicans ridiculed him as "Joe Loserman" (remember that?), he has become their House Jew.
