HONOLULU, Hawaii (CNN) - How do you spend your time in a state famous for its sunny tropical skies? You spend your afternoon in a movie theater.
Sen. Barack Obama did just that Monday afternoon, taking in a matinee of the latest Batman sequel, 'The Dark Knight' - and giving him an opportunity to assess the acting ability of campaign supporter and Democratic Senate colleague Patrick Leahy of Vermont, who makes a cameo appearance in the blockbuster film.
Watch: Obama arrives in Hawaii for weeklong vacation
Post-movie, Obama went for a 4-star meal for the second time this week: Monday night it was 'Mariposa' at the Honolulu Neiman Marcus. The restaurant's Web site promises exceptional Hawa'in cuisine served on an open air lanai, situated to catch the island's legendary sunsets.
Activities for the Hawai'ian-born presumptive Democratic nominee so far have included a jog along the beach, a round of golf, and a carbeque along the North Shore, which is known for its killer surfing. Obama has also made several visits to his grandmother, who has lived in Honolulu for 50 years and who he affectionately calls his 'Tùtù.'
Does this really matter? Did they send Brian Williams to cover this? What a scoop!!
what the heck? let the man take a vacation, stalkers. who cares that he went to a movie and ate? duuuummmmbbb...
Greet your TuTu for us Sen.Obama. Rest well and return more "Fired-up and ready to Go"!!!
Why do you asked him how he made love, how often he use the toilet, how did he sleep and what side of bed does he lay. balabalanalanbalanalan
Hawaii is beautiful and a perfect place for rest and relaxation. I'm sure the Islanders have been excellent host to Obama, they always are.
at the end of this people are going to say Obama take the spotlight, but most published stories are bull.
Media love negative ads.
Have a good one..............don't worry about McCain, he is still walking around lost, lying, and his campaign is too busy making sure he stays on track.
Just another day in the life of yet another typical say anything do nothing politician!
Hawaii's LOSS And our GAIN WHILE HE'S AWAY THE AMERICAS SEEM A WHOLE LOT BETTER.
Enouogh of Hawaii. Obama had better grow some balls and get down to fighting if he wants to win in November.
If he loses, I hope it eats away at him for the rest of his life, about how close he came, the mistakes he made, and how his arrogance is really turning some people OFF!
Why would THE WORLD CARE WHAT THIS CANDIDATE IS EATING ON HIS VACATION–PROOF THAT HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A WANNABEE MOVIE STAR WITHOUT THE LOOKS OR TALENT.
Stay there BO!-my sentiments exactly cj-so what-CNN you've got to find more news than this nonsense!
why can't you people report about McCain the way you report about Obama. why don't you give us all the details of what McCain does on his weekends off.
Good for the Senator. He should have a vacation now, because once he wins the election there will be no rest.
Come on bloggers – hate hate – give us more hate. We Americans can't get enough of the negativity, judgment and hate in this country. Let me get y'all started:
How dare he eat at a 4 star restaurant when so many Americans are beings forced to choose between buying groceries and canceling their cell phone contracts!
Okay take it from there....
He's not fit to become the next President!
cj, you are correct. I'll repeat that. So?
The guy deserves a rest... after all, he doesn't take naps during the day or take weekends off like McLame does. I hope he grabs a board and rides some waves for awhile.
Good for him. He needs all the rest he can get now because he'll have no time for vacation WHEN he's president. :-)
Why is this News exactly?????
